That, I don't know. But Irvine does have large populations of Asians, Middle Easterners and other ethnicities. If they aren't foreign students, they probably come from families that have strong ties to the old countries.

The "Cross Cultural Center" at UC Irvine has a wall size mural that depicts the struggle against capitalism, money and nuclear energy by people of color. Every race is represented in the mural except white people. I guess some races are more equal than others.

There is a conquistador represented, but his skin is darkened for some reason. Conquistadors played no part in Americas history, but, hey this is a "Cross Cultural Center" so I guess he belongs on the wall of a California University.

Jess Unruh said decades ago that he was going to turn Orange County liberal by putting a University in it, and the lack of tolerance for conservatives shows that many of them think that is why the University is there. I was in a meeting once where are professor objected to the term "conservative estimate" when speaking about budget numbers.

Advice: Lose the borders. Simple uncluttered margins generally work better in folded brochures. Considering tolerances for printing, folding, etc, anything near the edges and/or fold(s) is likely to make the job look crappy, unless all of it is done perfectly, or nearly so.

Each lecture began with a traditional Islamic prayer ceremony and a reading from the Qur'an in Arabic and English. School sponsored prayer and holy book recitals ... go figure.

The Palestinian awareness movement at UC Irvine, if ever it was of any substance, has deteriorated into a bumper-sticker propaganda festival relying on widely discredited academic polemics to fill seats. The irony, of course, is that it appeared the vast majority of attendees were already aware of and sympathetic to the Palestinian movement. Nothing more frustrating than preaching to the choir.

After all, why not? Saudi money goes a long way so even the FBI is getting infiltrated.
