We’ll see. This post got some attention on the morning thread.

Obama and infanticide. There are pro-choice (kill the baby before it's born) Americans, pro-partial birth (kill the baby as it’s being born) Americans, and pro-infanticide (kill the baby after it’s born) Americans. From The Catholic League:

To read more about how, while in the Illinois state senate, Obama led the fight to deny medical care to infants born alive as a result of botched abortions and let them die unaided in hospital rooms, check out the links below.

It's been a pain getting the approvals. We have big meetings and discusses everything, make decisions. Then when it goes to get approve folk who where in the meeting say "what's this for, we need a meeting."

$20 million spent on the project and they gripe about $750k in test equipment to make sure it works.

A rare good idea from McCain: McCain urges UK-style sessions for U.S. president

But here is the rub. It would be like TV in court rooms. I like the idea but in high profile cases (read OJ ), the participants play to the camera and it can become a farce. So televise it an it becomes a farce and keep it private and well nobody knows?

I just love the hyper-sensitivity from Obama Nation about the references to appeasement. Ha! Double HA! How long till we see an all-out meltdown from Mr. "Cool as the other side of the pillow" Someday soon he's gonna go all Jeremiah for the camera. Can't wait.

All joking aside it's a bit of a farce. What must happen is that the PM's own party get to ask questions as well. In the case of America with , for example , Bush and the Republican Party, a republican would stand up and ask a " question " such as " would the President agree with me that the economy is in great shape due to his wise handling of...."
It's only when the opposition ambush the PM with a seemingly innocent question and then lay into him with a follow-up that his team haven't forseen that the process has any value. And that can make it all worth while, actually.

Afghan teacher shot dead after condemning suicide bombings as un-Islamic

A teacher was shot to death in northern Afghanistan after he gave a speech condemning suicide bombings, it was revealed today.

Abdul Hadi claimed the attacks were un-Islamic and un-Afghan during a speech yesterday in the Archi district of Kunduz province.

He spoke at a gathering of about 700 people, including the Kunduz governor, and was on his way home when he was killed, Khair Mohammad Subat said.

Just for once the truth came out, White Rasta. Here's the goods:

West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have apologised for accusing the makers of a Channel 4 documentary of distortion.

The apology and the promise of £100,000 were made at the High Court on Thursday.

It follows comments made about a Dispatches programme, Undercover Mosque, which tackled claims of Islamic extremism in the West Midlands.

The police statement said the force was wrong to make the allegations.

A press release issued by the police and the CPS in August 2007 claimed the Dispatches programme, broadcast in January of that year, misrepresented the views of Muslim preachers and clerics with misleading editing.

'Damage and distress'

One preacher was shown saying a homosexual should be thrown off a mountain, another that women were born deficient.

Silly multicuti coppers have just cost themselves £100,000 - that's USD$200,000. Not a small sum in these Isles for failing to check your facts...

It's an anniversary and everyone is focusing on the appeasement portion of the speech. Funny how that works. Obama and the Democrats read into it exactly what they wanted to read, rather than what was actually said.

No wonder Rick Moran wonders where the grownups went.

The celebration of Israel's continued existence gets left out, all the triumphs in the face of overwhelming adversity, especially once the media outlets focus not on Israel, but on the Palestinians and all their self-inflicted catastrophes starting with leaders who refuse to accept Israel's existence, who refuse to stop carrying water for nihlistic terrorists, and instead build a civil society in Gaza and West Bank.

118 jcm  Thu, May 15, 2008 5:10:57pm

Are You Gruntled Yet?

And are you gruntled yet? The "dis" of disgruntled is not the same as the "dis" of "dismayed." It means "completely", and so "gruntled," just as it sounds, is an old word that means "grumbling." Today, however, "gruntled" has found its way into dictionaries as a word in its own right. If you look at the origin, you will see that it gives "gruntled" as a back-formation from "disgruntled." People assumed that "disgruntled" was a negative and invented the word "gruntled." Similar back-formations add new words to the English dictionary every year. One of the most well-known as a back-formation is "edit, " which arose because the word "editor" sounds as if it should mean "one who edits."

You presidents can be a tad petulant. Comes from having so much power I suppose. And the whole Questiontime concept is founded on calmness. It would take quite some time till US Presidents got used to it.

Well, we'd sure have to get the questioners down with the whole "Hear hear" and "Right right" thing, that's for sure. The biggest obstacle I foresee is getting either of the Senate or the House to agree as to who gets to sit on which level of bench. They'd all want the front seats, and declare that they deserve it!

Besides, I don't think the Arabs have the ability to build one. They might be able to buy one from the Russians, but probably on the black market.

Okay here's what I came up with.

Set your page layout to landscape.
Use the columns button and select 3 columns.
Under view button select show layout.

You'll see outlines of 3 columns.
Up in the menu select
Insert -> Shape -> Rounded Rectangle (or what ever you like)
You can place and size a rectangle.

Now select the rectangle so the little boxes at the corners show up.
Click the inspector button.
In the middle top of the inspector panel that pops up is a little button with a square and circle, click that.

Now you have all the tools for playing with the rectangle.
