Pro-Al Qaeda Revisionist History from AFP

Thu, May 15, 2008 at 5:16:12 pm PDT

This week, the week of Israel’s 60th anniversary, is the week when the mainstream media completely dropped its mask with an unprecedented deluge of anti-Israel propaganda that has astounded even me. And it shows no sign of letting up.

Here’s a pro-Al Qaeda piece from AFP: Bin Laden to release speech for Israel anniversary: reports.

Bin Laden last issued a message on March 20, urging Muslims to support the insurgency in Iraq as the best way to support the Palestinians, and accusing Arab leaders of backing Israeli attacks on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip

Bin Laden has claimed responsibility for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, which killed nearly 3,000 people and prompted the US-led invasion of Afghanistan.

Despite a massive manhunt and a 25-million-dollar bounty on his head, he has evaded capture and has regularly taunted the United States and its allies through warnings issued via video and audio, mainly on the Internet.

Concluding with a breathtaking little bit of revisionist history right out of the Arab propaganda playbook:

Israel proclaimed its independence on May 14, 1948, which it consolidated in a brief war with its neighbours that led to the expulsion or flight of some 700,000 Palestinians.

Absolutely astounding.

Getting out of Iraq will enable us to play a constructive role in a renewed Middle East peace process that would mean security and normal relations for Israel and the Palestinians. The fundamental elements of a final agreement have been clear since 2000: a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank in return for a declaration that the conflict is over, recognition of Israel's right to exist, guarantees of Israeli security, diplomatic recognition of Israel, and normalization of its relations with Arab states. U.S. diplomacy is critical in helping to resolve this conflict. In addition to facilitating negotiations, we must engage in regional diplomacy to gain Arab support for a Palestinian leadership that is committed to peace and willing to engage in a dialogue with the Israelis. Whether or not the United States makes progress in helping to broker a final agreement, consistent U.S. involvement can lower the level of violence and restore our credibility in the region

Osama and all the others act so concerned about the plight of the Palestinians, yet the Mullahs in Iran have been on a decades long rampage to ethnically cleanse and enslave the Awahzi Arabs living in Western Iran along the border with Iraq. As for all the Pali refugees living in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon... why are they all still living in refugee camps as 2nd class citizens?

So its not about concern for the Palis, or for that matter any other Arab tribe besides the one they belong to. Thats all just a convenient excuse to kill Jews.

Just a matter of writing style: "Israel proclaimed its independence on May 14, 1948"

AFP: "which it consolidated in a brief war with its neighbours that led to the expulsion or flight of some 700,000 Palestinians."

Other: "which resulted in neighboring Muslim countries launching a genocidal war based upon an oath to God to kill or eject every Jew from the "Holy Land."

I meant to say much earlier...if the oil rich Arab nations really supported Palestinians, they would have helped contribute and given money to hold the Palestinian government and people...

Instead it is the Western nations giving money to PLO...

OT, here's some good news for the troops
From the web site Strategypage
"May 15, 2008: The U.S. Army in Afghanistan has removed the prohibition on sex between male and female soldiers. Since the 1990s, the army has been big on clean living (or whatever you want to call it) in combat zones. No booze, no sex and not cavorting (you know what that means) with the locals. But with about fifteen percent of the troops in combat zones being female, and most of them young and single, things happened. Some couples got caught. Commanders got tired of having to punish (usually with an Article 15, which is just short of a court martial) troops for "unauthorized fornication." So now it is, if not authorized, not likely to get you punished. Y'all have a nice time now."

33 USA  Thu, May 15, 2008 5:37:25pm

Should the AFP article really surprise anyone? The real darkness has been "the very center of Western civilization." Those in the Middle East are just learning these dark arts:

Nothing can disguise the fact that six million Jews died, not in the Middle East, but in ovens which burned in the very heart of Europe. In countries that prided themselves in culture; that listened to Mozart; read books and vaunted their universities. When Golda Meir said with relief, on the occasion of the foundation of Israel that "For two thousand years we have waited for our deliverance. Now that it is here it is so great and wonderful that it surpasses human words" she was speaking of escape from a darkness within the very center of Western civilization.

Those warmongering Jews:

In the midst of wanton aggression, we yet call upon the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to return to the ways of peace and play their part in the development of the State, with full and equal citizenship and due representation in its bodies and institutions -- provisional or permanent.

We offer peace and unity to all the neighboring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all.

What sticks with me was one article I read after the Cole. It talked about one sailor who searched the ship for his girl friend, a fellow sailor.

I was thinking, what about your duty station? You'd abandon your post to look for your girl? Either she's okay or she's not, finding her won't change that. But the ship sinking because a bunch of guys are looking for their sweeties, and you all die.

I've deep reservation about mixed gender units since that. I was ambivalent before.

Precisely why I feel the same way. I've served in units with significant numbers of females in peacetime, and it was like living in a soap opera. I was really glad that my only combat tour to date was in an all-male unit.

They multiplied beyond even a rabbit’s best expectation. Think, in the beginning there were ration cards. You left the camps what happened to your card? Someone kept it and continued to get his or her largess from the UN. Fictitious births began to happen, forgeries, etc. as a thriving business in fabricating “Palistinians” developed.

Let's see. If 15% are female, that means 900 women and 5100 men. So potentially 900 out of 5100 men will cry WHOOPEE! And the other 4200 will.............hmmmm. This will help morale?! I doubt it.
If you can't enforce the rules, maybe you ought to rethink having women in combat zones to begin with. (GASP!)

The military is still working its way through the mixed gender minefield in a world of political correctness. It will be another 20 years before they find the policies that work well. The issues the navy has is the high pregnancy rate of females stationed on ships. Another issue is physical strength, it takes four females to carry a stretcher where two males can do the same job. These are just a few of the facts of life in mixed gender military. Another issue is that males are hardwired for "women and children first" and take extra casualties protecting their female "comrades in arms". (can't call them brothers can we....) The important thing is that they take the same oath to constitution as the men and for the same reason, they love and serve our country.

It's been written for over 5000 years, that all the world will come against Israel.

If people can't clearly see those times are at hand, I feel sorry for their deceived state.

In the end, though, God comes, and kicks tail on all those who oppose Israel, though it will look bleak, it will seem as if Israel will finally be destroyed.

I wish I could be around to see MSLSD's or CNN's coverage of the event, because for a brief moment, even they will see the Truth!

It's likely going to be a remix/mashup of things Osama's said in the past, plus a bit of clever rearranging of the usual leftist/marxist claptrap that whets the appetites of Democrat appeasers.

re: #33 USA

Should the AFP article really surprise anyone? The real darkness has been "the very center of Western civilization." Those in the Middle East are just learning these dark arts:

Wretchard / The Belmont Club (one of my favorite blogs)

I know a guy where I work ... 26 years old ... who supports Obama. Nothing I tell him about Obama shakes his support. Nothing I tell him about Iraq can persuade him that the war was caused by anything but Dick Cheney and his buddies at the oil companies, or that it is anything but a complete disaster and we need to get out immediately. He buys into every liberal canard there is.

I like a lot of the same things this guy does. We have the same ironic, twisted sense of humor. But since I found out about his liberalism and his support for Obama, despite Obama's longtime association with racists and America-haters and terrorists, I find myself thinking: He's on the wrong side. Through his support for Obama, he is supporting evil. When the chips are down, I can't depend on him to have my back. He is my enemy.

I don't like feeling this way, but there it is. Must be similar to what a lot of Americans were feeling in 1860, as friends and even brothers prepared to fight each other.

91 mama winger  Thu, May 15, 2008 6:03:59pm

for Israel, on her birthday .....

1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.

3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.
Selah

4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.

Israel proclaimed its independence on May 14, 1948, which it consolidated in a brief war with its neighbours that led to the expulsion or flight of some 700,000 Palestinians.

What's next ? French armies during WWII rolled thru Berlin in 1945, repulsing Hitler's consolidation of Northern France while the US peacekeeping force in Belgium supplied them with fuel ?

They can cover their eyes and ears all they want, and self censor themselves for fear of rioting, fatwas, etc. Maybe they believe it. That French author whatever-his-name-is-I-don't-give-a-F*** writing bestsellers about 9/11 being an inside job makes me think they do believe all this crap.

OT Capital Punishment Saves Lives

Tell Rev. Wright that it even saves African American lives.

Importantly, this study finds that the deterrent effect of capital punishment protects African-American victims even more than whites.

Redneck crackers have been right all along!

it will be interesting to see secular-leftist opponents of the death penalty squirm their way out of this one. They pride themselves on being data-driven members of the “reality based” community. For decades they have used studies with dubious methodology to bully people who disagreed with them. Now they will have to explain why a wide range of studies all refute their ideas. Most death-penalty opponents won’t change their minds but the subsequent mental gymnastics they preform will be of Olympic quality.

Bring popcorn.

Naqba. What a load of rubbish. Islam is all about Naqba and Jihad. Feel sorry for the misery you caused yourself by trying to kill others, nurse that resentment without getting past it with the whole Muslim world doing all they can to keep you resentful and angry, then exploding in a paroxysm of suicidal joy. Islam worships death. Naqba is just another way to keep the Muslim rank-and-file angry, so they blow themselves up to further Jihad.

Here is what Kemal Atatürk said of the matter: "Islam, this absurd theology of an immoral Bedouin, is a rotting corpse which poisons our lives."

Israel proclaimed its independence on May 14, 1948, which it consolidated in a brief war with its neighbours that led to the expulsion or flight of some 700,000 Palestinians.

-- AFP.

AFP is misleading its audience concerning who started this war. They are suggesting that Israel started this war in order to consolidate its independence. Actually, Israel accepted the UN partition plan, while the leaders of the Arab Palestinians rejected it, and the Arab states rejected it.

After the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine expired, at Britain's initiative, Palestine's status became in limbo -- it had no status. Israel declared its independence. Five Arab armies immediately invaded the new state.

This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which wilol be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades.

-- Arab League Sec. Gen. Azzam Pasha, May 15, 1948, the day five Arab armies invaded the new state of Israel.

For AFP to suggest that this war was started by Israel to consolidate its independence is a lie, a libel, a canard. Israel was invaded by 5 Arab armies, and it had to defend itself in order to prevent the announced genocide that was proclaimed as the intention of the Arab League.

After an accelerated two week truck driving school I went to work for Swift Transportation Co. Every other trucking company will send their drivers to school for at least a month and many veteran drivers think that’s too short, but the industry was desperate for drivers. Now I’m not going to bad mouth Swift, every other driver on the road will do that. I’ll just say they did one thing right, after a year they fired me. I remember the Three Sisters Truck Stop being good for two or three gunshots a night. Where you at?

Hey, if that's where we're needed...

Seriously, women are are excellent in many fields. I just don't think they belong in combat conditions if they can't measure up to the same standards as men.

i agree. but if they do measure up, and some women do, they shouldn't be held back in the military.
btw, i heard some complaint on the radio by a women's group that they aren't well represented in the fire depts. across the country. well, most can't pass the strength test. and that is a crucial part of the job. so sometimes gender has to be irrelevant.

re: #10 yochanan

DEFEAT IS HILLARY/OBAMA

Would you mind fleshing some of that out:

Getting out of Iraq under what circumstances?

Getting a declaration of Israel's right to exist from the young loonies who make up the various terrorist organizations exactly how? (Never mind the governments; what about the young men who cannot be controlled?)

US involvement lowers violence exactly how?

I can't even begin to fathom the optimism from whence this springs.

re: #62 LoFlyer

This is not an advertisement, since it won't be out for a couple of years. But I intend to address this in detail in a book so far entitled, "The Amazon's Right Breast." (Publisher _hates_ that title.)

Non-analagous. They were not and had no chance of being in the chain of command. They were available to anyone and everyone with a half a denarius (or perhaps less) to spare. No one was dependent upon a female legionary holding up their shield to their own left or right.

That's one of the sickest pictures I've ever seen. The MSM wants to portray the entire world in apocalypic chaos, it's part of the master plan to topple the party of the bushitler.

If he burns in hell, maybe his memory will remind him of why.

Wow. That photo is just awful. Not the picture itself, per se, but the image of the photographer trying to get that image. It's monstrous.

257 Dianna  Thu, May 15, 2008 6:46:04pm

I'm the innocent party, here.

Everyone else is at the store or at their house assembling the ingredients for gazpacho. I swear it's not my fault.

But I put on Tom Traubert's Blues, anyway.

Women are invaluable in support staff positions. I don't want to see them in combat.

Oh there are more. Check the Reuters search page for Jason Lee. Dude is having a field day. I can't link directly but there is another one in there of a dead child's face, buried under rubble. Just sick..

Oh but Reuters will sell you the photo!

Hey, if that's where we're needed...

Seriously, women are are excellent in many fields. I just don't think they belong in combat conditions if they can't measure up to the same standards as men.

Even if they can, it won't stop the problem of romance undermining unit cohesion and the chain of command. One lesbian (bisexual women need not apply) per rifle company? Maybe then.

I lay blame for that photo at the feet of the editorial staff at Reuters. That was someone's child and/or sibling. Gone. And the photographer thought that it was interesting to juxtapose the butterfly with the lifeless form.

Nice.

Stay classy Reuters.

yes, it's amazing how brutal and calloused people can be. that photo is so cold and w/out any empathy or artistic relevance. it's snap shot that tells the viewer so much more abt. the photographer than the innocent lives lost.

Frack is a Battlestar Galactica term to f-bomb someone. Avoids the censors.
I'll sometimes use frell instead of frack - from my time watching Farscape.

The original BSG uses "frack." The modern series uses "frak." Small difference.

This week, the week of Israel’s 60th anniversary, is the week when the mainstream media completely dropped its mask with an unprecedented deluge of anti-Israel propaganda that has astounded even me. And it shows no sign of letting up.

I have to admit, the sheer numbers of articles surprised me too. Sadly, I've become so used to it, that a few propaganda pieces here or there are expected. But your drawing attention to them, today especially, has jolted me right out of my reverie. :/

They do not belong in combat situations, I'll agree. It takes strength and might in order to be able to fight hand to hand. But anything short of that....

To say that they should be "sweeping, vacuuming" is a bit of an insult, I think, to those women who have lost their lives in combat.

Sorry - I'm not a feminist, but I just don't want to see the sacrifices of these women be denigrated by statements like "they should be sweeping and vacuuming".

I support our troops - be they male or female.

We went on a camping trip while I was in the process of joining the Marine Corp Reserve. Not sure why but it had something to do with early enlistment, I signed up but couldn’t leave until after marking. Anyway it was the recruiters and those of us in whatever program we were in. The recruiter retired into his tent with the one hot female in the group. Did nothing for my morale. Later, at Admin School, I witnessed a veritable Paton Place that occurred with all those coed Marines. In my Recon unit however no females were in any other platoon than admin and didn’t hurt the mission at all.

Fairness would dictate that the military determine a baseline of physical strength to be met by all combat soldiers, men or women. In all probability, an enforced, leveling standard would eliminate all but a few Amazon-like women.

God damn Jews, having birthdays. Who do they think they are?

296 Maine's Michael  Thu, May 15, 2008 7:32:48pm

How did we get chosen?

God first asked the French if they wanted the Ten Commandments. They looked them over.

"Sorry," they said "We can;t live with the 'Thou shall not commit adultery' bit."

God turned to the Arabs.

" ' Though shall not kill' ? Are you nuts? It's not for us. Sorry."

God then turned around, saw this dusty little band of shepherds, trekking across the Sinai Desert from Egypt. 'What the hell . . .' he thought.

So he asked these Jews if they wanted them.

"How many commandments" And how much do they cost?" they asked.

"They are free, my children. There are ten of them."

"For free? We'll take all ten!"

297 rorschach  Thu, May 15, 2008 7:42:38pm

I seriously doubt that most people in the tribal area of Pakistan have any concept of what $25 million even is. It's a completely meaningless figure to them.

If they're serious about finding Osama, they should make the reward something like 100 goats and 10 camels. At least that's something they would understand...

Awfully inefficient, something the Israeli’s are not known for. What everyone ignores is the fact that if Israel wanted to get rid of the “Palestinian” problem they probably could.

Israel then and now, 60 Years in 60 seconds. Happy Birthday Israel.

Was that a bad link? Strange things happened on my puter.
