You have to read the Daily Mail on Sunday Morning. Here's a sample: Why the police now have to ask teenage muggers: 'Do you eat chips?':

The new questionnaire, known as the Common Assessment Framework (CAF), is part of a £20million programme called Every Child Matters (ECM), ostensibly set up to ensure youngsters are safe and leading positive lives. [snip] Any child not achieving the Government's five "outcomes" - being healthy, staying safe, enjoying life, "making a positive contribution", and achieving " economic well-being" - is now defined as having "additional needs".

I smell a new punk revolution.

Chile is actually good for your stomach. Not so many ulcers among populations that eat chile. And it turns on your endorphins - the "feel good, feel better" chemical. Start with small amounts. You don't have to eat raw jalepeno for breakfast (though I do - picked up the habit in the Southwest) or Thai-hot stuff, which even many chileheads cannot manage.

Well, I said before I was leaving and I must, but thought it might be of interest to raise a new topic.

You like panda bears, probably. Well, most people do. However, there is one guy who doesn't and he is none other than the famous governor of Tokyo:

Tokyo Gov. Ishihara questions 'excessive' rental fee for pandas at Ueno Zoo

Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara anti-panda crusade continues, with the object of his ire this time being the rental fee for a pair of giant pandas provided by China following the death of Ueno Zoo's Ling Ling.

"Just what does it mean to take money under a banner of goodwill and friendship? I think it's a rather excessive price." Ishihara complained during a scheduled briefing on Friday. The rental fee for the pandas is believed to be about 100 million yen.

"It's the metropolitan government's taxes that pay the money. Do people want to go that far to see them? I couldn't care less about them," he continued.

So, what's behind all of this? Well, for anyone not familiar with Ishihara, he is notorious for his occasional, how shall we say, provincial views. He and others of the right wing of the Japanese LDP party continue to struggle with Japan's growing relationship with China.

As an example, from the Observing Japan blog:
Fear and loathing in the wake of Hu's visit

As Jun Okumura notes, a poll by Fuji TV's Hodo 2001 program found that Fukuda Yasuo gained nothing from Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Japan last week.

The poll recorded that nearly sixty percent of respondents disapprove of Mr. Fukuda's China policy.

Beyond public doubts, Mr. Fukuda's action (or inaction) during Mr. Hu's visit have driven conservative commentators into paroxysms of rage over Mr. Fukuda's supposed pusillanimity in the face of Chinese outrages, especially poisoned gyoza and human rights violations in Tibet.
[...]

So there remains plenty of open wounds in East Asia...

36 galloping granny  Sun, May 18, 2008 4:00:35am

re: #35 freetoken

I'm not sure I would chalk his Panda objections up to any anti-Chinese feelings. Zoos that keep Pandas here in the US pay a cool million dollars per panda per year for them. China retains all ownership and ultimate say over virtually everything. Even the pandas that have been born in US zoos are named by the Chinese. Usually the zoo is given a list of 3 names to pick from. The world panda population is VERY managed.

Well, I guess that is my point... Ishihara is complaining about something that is just standard operating procedure. So, the Chinese are very possessive about their pandas... Be that as it may, zoos still cater to them.

When the last panda (in Tokyo) died recently (which is what set all of this off) there was plenty of press coverage and little kids lamenting, etc. Obviously a popular attraction, and thus the zoo wants replacements.

Ishihara's comments about the panda have nothing to do with the species... it has everything to do with the fact that they are Chinese.

And so the world turns... I just thought it was an interesting example of the existent tensions that underlie east asian relations.

Yes, I do understand about the little kids and all that jazz. The thing is, though, that ONLY the Pandas are rented out so to speak. Any other animal a zoo might have they have either purchased, been given as a real gift or have made a home for because the animal is injured in some way. Paying for Pandas is pretty controversial here too because they divert a huge amount of resources and take a huge chunk out of the zoo's budget.

I don't think it is about China. People would still find the $$$ controversial and perhaps not the best of investments (most zoos are lucky to stay afloat these days) no matter where the pandas were from. It is about the money.

Afghan journalist appeals death sentence

KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan journalism student sentenced to death for insulting Islam denied the charges before an appeals court Sunday, saying he only confessed to questioning the religion's treatment of women because he was tortured.

During an hour-long hearing, a judge read aloud a transcript of the Jan. 22 proceedings against 24-year-old Sayed Parwez Kambakhsh at the primary court in northern Balkh province.

It was the first time the public and the media heard full details from the closed-door trial, which highlights the influence of conservative religious attitudes in post-Taliban Afghanistan's still-nascent justice system.

If you folks haven't read the link up above about Obamessiah's Kentucky loss, you must. Apparently he is blaming his loss of Fox News. He is claiming that Hillary won because she is better known in Kentucky, being from Arkansas and all, than he is - even though Kentucky shares a border with Illinois and is part of their media market.

Apparently Barrack Hussein Obamessiah is not only challenged geographically in knowing the simple number of states(hint Obama - there are not 57, 58 or 59 or them), he also apparently does not know where most of them are.

Tylenol PM has the same ingredient in it as Benadryl (the one that causes drowsiness).

Yet, Tylenol PM will not work for me. Weird.

Anyway...I've been doing this for many months...it's wonderful sleeping every night (especially at my age!).

You really are rather naive. Do you truly believe that we let Nazi Germany dictate their new constitution? Or Imperial Japan?

Why should American spend our blood and our treasure to free the downtrodden only to allow them to be instantly even more downtrodden in the name of "democracy freely chosen and voted on.?" That is sophistry, pure and simple.

A tribal leader said "the criminal act by U.S. forces" took place at a shooting range at the Radhwaniya police station. After the shooters left, an Iraqi policeman found a target marked in the middle of the bullet-riddled Quran.

Criminal act. Of Course. The UN will investigate.

All this is is bad judgement, and a hell of an aim.

Morning, Lizards

I read the book, and saw the mini-series several times.
Was very powerful for the time, especially on MSTV. Streep was good as was Moriarty as Nazi officer. James Woods, and Tovah Feldshu also played grerat parts.

Is it accurate and suitable for a 12 year old?

It is my understanding that, after the close of the war with Japan, the US decided for them what their constitution should be.
Perhaps we should have taken that same approach with regard to assisting the Iraqis in forming their own government.

Input please -

The 1978 movie Holocaust (Marvin J Chomsky, director) is coming out on DVD the end of the month. It has great reviews, but I would like your input if you are familiar with it. We're doing the Holocaust as part of next year's school curriculum so I am considering buying it.

More info Granny, The story of two German Families, one Jewish, one "Christian". Rudi Weiss, the younger of the family, was the rebel, James Woods character, is older brother, who marries Christian girl (Meryl Streep). Michael Moriarty is a down on his luck lawyer, who becomes a Nazi, and joins the SS. He (Moriarty) has dealings with the Weiss family, through the father, who is a doctor. It has been a while, so some of the info is a bit hazy, but I know I know more, just have to get that info from back of brain to front.

As mentioned in other post, the movie/book was powerful.

I'm not naive granny, I know exactly what we did in Japan and Germany. Yes, we really did let them choose their own constitutions. The concept of freedom has apparently been missed by you. If we dictated their constitutions to them they would not be their constitutions nor would we have brought them freedom, we would have in fact simply made them our vassals.

True. But there is no point at all in even bothering to study the Holocaust unless you truthfully portray the camps in all their ugliness. There really is no way to sugar-coat the subject, which is why I have left it so long as it is. I don't think I'll introduce her to Sobibor, but she lost relatives at Babi Yar. And I don't want to leave learning about the Holocaust much later.

But then I first learned about the Holocaust about the time I was 3 via a book about WWII that my parents had and an uncle that liberated one of the camps.

Hi Dorian!

It sounds like you're in agreement that they could choose (except for the women, who could/would not know anything except to choose oppression/fear/sharia law) to have such a constitution; that, in spite of what we did for them, that we should NOT have a say in this.

99 Hengineer  Sun, May 18, 2008 5:35:48am

Wikipedia - Japanese Constitution

Much of it was drafted by two senior army officers with law degrees: Milo Rowell and Courtney Whitney. The articles about equality between men and women are reported to be written by Beate Sirota. Although the document's authors were non-Japanese, they took into account the Meiji Constitution, the demands of Japanese lawyers, and the opinions of pacifist political leaders such as Shidehara and Yoshida Shigeru. The draft was presented to surprised Japanese officials on 13 February 1946. On 6 March 1946, the government publicly disclosed an outline of the pending constitution. On 10 April elections were held to the House of Representatives of the Ninetieth Imperial Diet, which would consider the proposed constitution. The election law having been changed, this was the first general election in Japan in which women were permitted to vote.

The MacArthur draft, which proposed a unicameral legislature, was changed at the insistence of the Japanese to allow a bicameral legislature, both houses being elected. In most other important respects, however, the ideas embodied in the 13 February document were adopted by the government in its own draft proposal of 6 March. These included the constitution's most distinctive features: the symbolic role of the Emperor, the prominence of guarantees of civil and human rights, and the renunciation of war.

While the final draft was drafted by the US Army, it was revised by Japan before being adopted or so, you both are right?

I suggest you grab a history book granny, because no we didn't. The Japanese already had a constitution which they had had since 1889, their current constitution is more or less the same with some minor tweaks. The most significant being the removal of the Emperor as head of state. MacArthur made a number of suggestions, which the Japanese people rejected.

Its an Arab thing, they unlike us do not have years of homophobia dictating the acceptability of males holding hands. We see it as a gay thing because we have for many years now been forced to accept homosexuality as normal. Since they still view homosexuality as a perversion they have not taken a skeptical view of open displays of affection between males.

Hizbullah's actions in Lebanon have pretty much ignited what are likely the opening phases of the third Lebanese civil war, and the diplomats are, instead of getting Hizbullah to disarm, are going to consolidate their moves, which is only going to further destabilize the country going forward.

Meanwhile, Hamas is playing propaganda games, using Gilad Shalit once again. They claim a deal has been struck for Israel to release hundreds of terrorists, including 71 murderers of Israelis. Oh, and Israel requested Shalit's release as an afterthought.

But hey, what do I know? I really should be sleeping, anyway.

If we dictate what they can or cannot decide then they are not free and it would be imperialism. We would be no different than the former Soviet Union was in places like Poland and Yugoslavia were we do have done as granny suggests.

You cannot free a people by forcing freedom upon them, ultimately they have to choose to be free. We removed the tyrants boot from their neck and set them on the path to freedom and democracy. But it would not be freedom or democracy if they had no choice in the matter. If we did not allow them to make their own choices regarding the form and function of their constitution all we would have been doing is changing who the tyrant controlling their lives was.

Democracy is after all rule by the people, if the people do not have the final say in how they are governed then they are not a democracy, they are a client state or vassal. In order for their constitution to be exactly that, their constitution it has to reflect them as a people. Since like it or not Iraq is a Muslim nation refusing them the right to include Sharia law in their constitution would amount to no less than Iraq being controlled by a foreign nation.

How anyone could even remotely conceive of such a situation as being democratic is utterly beyond me.

Use your positioning wedge to keep your hip in allignment and be compliant on your post surg instructions and rehab. When you're able, after Physical Therapy, ask your doctor and therapist about water walking or aqua exercise... because you're half bouyant and also due to the hydrostatic pressure of water (to reduce swelling) you can really get good outcomes.

Remember when the staples/stitches come out and the skin heals, you aren't ready necessarily for full activity, it takes time for the muscles, tendons & ligaments to heal. The most common mistake post surgical is that when the incision heals, people think they're ready to go.

Hope you do well!

re: #135 opnion

Wait, this line of reasoning takes an odd turn.
Are you saying that being an enabler for them to choose tyranny is the most enlightened way to facilitate their freedom?
I say again , we spilled blood & went through treasure. We did not do that for them to institute Medeval terror.

The greatest threat to any democracy is its own people, democracies can vote or legislate themselves right out of existence. So yes, as odd and strange as it may seems there is a inherent risk involved in bringing democracy to people.

How would you dare to suggest that people who have no freedom of choice in how they are governed or by whom are a free and democratic people? Such an argument has no more truth to it than the suggestion that slaves like being slaves. It is in fact that exact same false argument.

We spent our blood and treasure to set them free, it would not however be freedom if we were to dictate to them what they we allowed to do with that freedom. That would not be freedom, it would be a form of conditional slavery.

153 gettinby  Sun, May 18, 2008 6:34:49am

re: #131 doriangrey

Okay...I've been reading and re-reading this.

Sharia law is NOT a democracy, and even though they "chose" this (was it really a choice?) doesn't necessarily conclude that they're still not under total control of Sharia and, thus, are not a democracy.

And certainly, we and others who were involved in "freeing" their nations could/should have perhaps "guided" this constitution of theirs with at least the ONE condition...NO SHARIA law.

SHARM EL-SHEIK, Egypt — Israel got glowing praise from U.S. President George W. Bush earlier this week, while on Sunday, the Arab world got a stern lecture on the need to spread freedoms and isolate state sponsors of terror that he said are holding the region back.

"Too often in the Middle East, politics has consisted of one leader in power and the opposition in jail," Bush said in remarks prepared for delivery before the World Economic Forum on the Middle East. "The time has come for nations across the Middle East to abandon these practices, and treat their people with the dignity and respect they deserve."

Bush Urges Mideast Leaders to Advance Democracy

The president asked the Islamic world to join the United States in its determination to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. "To allow the world's leading sponsor of terror to gain the world's deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations," he said.

The emphasis on Iran reflects Bush's desire to counter Tehran's quest for greater influence in the region. New urgency was added to that task by recent turmoil in Lebanon that the U.S. and many Sunni Arab countries believe has been fomented by Shiite-dominated Iran, as well as Syria.

"It is now clearer than ever that Hezbollah militias are the enemy of a free Lebanon and all nations, especially neighbors in the region, have an interest in helping the Lebanese people prevail," he said.

He made clear that there are ways to define democracy that he finds acceptable — and not.

"Some say any state that holds an election is a democracy," Bush said.

Not so. "True democracy," he said, requires "vigorous political parties allowed to engage in free and lively debate," institutions that ensure legitimate elections and accountability for leaders, and an opposition that can campaign "without fear and intimidation."

Bush also devoted considerable attention to the disenfranchisement of women in many Mideast nations. A strong economy can't be built without the participation of the "formidable force" of females, he said.

"This is a matter of morality and of basic math," he said. "No nation that cuts off half its population from opportunities will be as productive or prosperous as it could be."

and it's only a small minority of religious fanatics holding to a few extremeist interpretations of the Q'ran, how can you say that living under the Draconian aegis of Shariah Law is the people's choice.

Sorry, Dorian, but the fact of the matter is that the inclusion of Shariah law is most likely due to fear of the huge riots that would surely erupt on the Friday follwing the adoption of any constitution that didn't include Shariah. So, in all probability, the people don't really have a say in the matter.

US Soldier removed from Iraq for shooting Koran

Major General Jeffrey Hammond, commander of US forces in Baghdad, met community leaders from Radhwaniya in the capital's western outskirts and issued a "formal apology," the CNN network said.

"I come before you here seeking your forgiveness," Hammond told tribal leaders on Saturday. "In the most humble manner I look in your eyes today and I say please forgive me and my soldiers."

Another military official kissed a Koran and presented it as "a humble gift" to the tribal leaders during an "apology ceremony," CNN said, adding that the soldier had also apologised.

While I can understand your point, the question remains, did we free them to choose slavery?
Will we have to drag them kicking and screaming into a more civilized social construct?
I imagine one could argue we are forcing Western models/ideals on them in doing so. But just winding them up and letting them run?
I know, I know, you can lead a horse to water...
But as was pointed out earlier, we have a vested interest in what happens there, and I would like to see some positive return on that investment.

Basically the answer is yes, we freed them so that they could make their own decisions. Setting people free is a risky business because free people don't always do what you want them to do, thats part of being free, the right and ability to make your own decisions.

You have to be very careful with that vested interest stuff as placing to much value in it leads to imperialism. If they are not allowed to make their own decisions then all we have done is to replace one tyrant with another.

In order for their democracy to succeed we must teach them the value of democracy, they must see and believe in the principals of democracy. If we dictate to them what the terms of their freedom are, then they are not free, they would be nothing more than a client state of the United States, and that would be nothing less than imperial tyranny.

Because it's a representative democracy, and the #1 aim of most representatives is to get re-elected, voting against something which will result in a) Friday riots and general civic chaos and b) personal death or mutilation - voting against the inclusion of Shariah is not a choice most politicians in an Islamic nation would make.

The Matsumoto Commission's recommendations, made public in February 1946, were quite conservative (described by one Japanese scholar in the late 1980s as "no more than a touching-up of the Meiji Constitution"). MacArthur rejected them outright and ordered his staff to draft a completely new document.
Much of it was drafted by two senior army officers with law degrees: Milo Rowell and Courtney Whitney. The articles about equality between men and women are reported to be written by Beate Sirota.

Link

While the Japanese did vote in a Diet (according to election rules that we insisted included women voters) who ratified the constitution, the US did not just step aside and let them come up with their own. We also censored the Japanese press at the time, by the way, in order to very actively influence opinion. After all the blood and treasure expended from 1941 - 45, we were not about to simply let them re-institute anything resembling Bushido militarism.

You are susbtantively wrong on the first point - the "amendment" of the Meiji constitution was merely a procedural formality, the effect was an entirely different constitution - and almost entirely wrong on the second. The document which, IN EFFECT, became the new constitution, was drawn up by MacArthur's staff.

opnion (#186),

Nowhere in the constitution is "sharia law" actually stated.

What people freak out about presumably is this:

Article (2):

(a) No law can be passed that contradicts the undisputed rules of Islam.

If there is any belief that the rules of islam are undisputed then, well, we haven't been paying attention.

Regardless, that is completely abrogated by (b) and (c):

(b) No law can be passed that contradicts the principles of democracy.

(c) No law can be passed that contradicts the rights and basic freedoms outlined in this constitution.

So I'm watching CBS Sunday Morning, I know, I know, but they are in Berlin and they are discussing architectural movements, Bauhaus and the like. They went in to the history of Germany and Berlin in particular, the wall, the airlift, JFK's famous quote, the wall coming down, Berlin today. Wait a minute, I think that another President had something to say about the Berlin Wall.

Maybe Ronald Reagan? Maybe, "Mr. Gorbechev, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!"?

What a bunch of sniveling leftists.

re: #165 doriangrey

Basically the answer is yes, we freed them so that they could make their own decisions. Setting people free is a risky business because free people don't always do what you want them to do, thats part of being free, the right and ability to make your own decisions.

You have to be very careful with that vested interest stuff as placing to much value in it leads to imperialism. If they are not allowed to make their own decisions then all we have done is to replace one tyrant with another.

note to self: cancel subscription to Tyrants Weekly.

In order for their democracy to succeed we must teach them the value of democracy, they must see and believe in the principals of democracy.

First they need a thorough education in the principals. Are you sure we have given them that education? How will they value something they don't fully understand?

If we dictate to them what the terms of their freedom are, then they are not free, they would be nothing more than a client state of the United States, and that would be nothing less than imperial tyranny.

I see you insist on bringing up the point that to interfere any further would constitute imperialism. If that is the hook you're hanging your hat on, you're losing me. I said earlier "imperialism" is unprofitable anyway, and furthermore I don't believe the US wants (as did the USSR) "vassal states".

What people freak out about presumably is this:

Uh huh"undisputed laws of Islam"
Lets get real, that is Sharia.
Do you think that Islamic courts might be chopping off hands & stoning people? Do you tyhink that women might be brande whores & punished for not being appropriatley coverd?
There is too much ebvidence that Sharia law will trump all else.

And I haven't even had coffee yet.

Really what I'm disputing the idea that, after we've effected regime change in a fascist society, our only choice is to step aside and let them, if they want, pick another brand of fascism, otherwise we're being "imperialists". Ridiculous. (BTW, I am not saying that the current governments in Iraq or Afghanistan are fascist; but, for instance, in the latter, it is inexcusable that "apostasy" is still a capital offense, such that there is no effective freedom of conscience.)

254 JammieWearingFool  Sun, May 18, 2008 7:14:57am

I posted my reaction to this in the spinoffs, but this is just too good to pass up.

Now here’s the irony of this whole thing. This ‘Jammie’ blog as far as I can tell is a Zionist rats nest created to post misinformation such as the nonsense referenced by the above title. The hypocracy is staggering.

The source of the bias is clear to those who have researched the topic, and if not I recommend reading up on ‘Little Green Footballs’, and ‘Pajamas Media’.Little Green Footballs is an anti-American radical Zionist Jew racist hate site, and Pajamas Media is a spin-off media organization.

Pajamas Media Board members include many prominent bloggers and journalists, including "Instapundit" Glenn Reynolds, CNBC's Larry Kudlow, Michael Barone of U.S. News & World Report, David Corn of The Nation and Claudia Rosett (who helped break the United Nations' "Oil for Food" controversy).

Now postulating that regular Americans, with no regular cable TV shows, or columns in major national publications are somehow guilty of somehow attempting to manipulate public opinion by actively participating in Digg and posting up articles that address issues about which they are passionate is the height of insincerity. Especially considering the anti-American agenda of the Zionist ‘Little Green Football’ lizards. (lizards, a term of derision used to refer to Zionists, which they have oddly embraced as their own)

United Church of Christ Denomination to begin "Honest Talks" on Race.

The major UCC effort is in response to the uproar caused by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s statements in past sermons in which he damned the United States for racism, accused the American government of deliberately spreading the HIV virus to harm black people, and blamed the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on U.S. foreign policy.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans and now we are indignant,” Wright said in the sermon after the Sept. 11 attacks, according to The Associated Press. “America’s chickens are coming home to roost.”

Wright’s incendiary remarks sparked a media firestorm because of his ties with Sen. Barack Obama – the leading Democratic presidential candidate. Wright, the former senior pastor of Trinity UCC in Chicago, was the one who brought Obama to Christianity, had officiated his wedding, and baptized his two daughters.

The close bond and more than 20 year friendship forged between the two men forced Americans to question Obama’s patriotism and view on the race issue.

As a side-effect of the curiosity regarding Obama’s view, the public began to question not only Trinity United Church of Christ, but also the denomination’s teachings on racism in America.

UCC says it is encouraging sermons about the race issue in response to the public’s interest about the denomination’s view.

so - I think we all can place our bets on who Obama is going to pick for his running mate. My bet: Jim Webb.

Jim is on the cover of "parade" magazine today. Let the media pimping begin. I'm not knocking Jim so much as I'm pointing out the obvious. and isn't it interesting and cynical how a left-wing politician (Obama) must pick a just right-of-center Democrat? And a right-of-center democrat who is not hated by the moore-ons and kos kidz.

They just kicked out 45 families from a trailer park a developer bought 2 years ago for 2.2 mill. For sale now at 12 mill. It is down on the river. Plan is for condos at 650k a pop. The vacancy rate for rentals here is 1%. These people have no money to move their trailers, no lot to put them on and the average rent here is 670$ If you are making 9 bucks an hour that is out of reach. The average salary here doesn't match housing prices at all. Totally skewed.

The 'honest dialogue' on race seems to always revolve around guilt. Never-ending perpetual guilt.

It's funny that this conversation should be taking place within a "christian" denomination, since it is really a post-Christian argument. True Christianity revolves around repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation. But in this 'conversation', reconciliation is never allowed. Instead the guilt must be fed and watered and prodded to continue to blossom.

Ther will be no 'Honest" talks about race.
That is not possible. In order to even begin a civil discussion, it must first be stipulated to that, all African American problems are directly attributable to White Racism. It must also be understood that Black racism does not exist but is merely justifiable & reasoned anger.
OK, now lets talk,

A day late for this, but: Mark Steyn on Obama's weirdly narcissistic crybabyism.

President Bush was in Israel the other day and gave a speech to the Knesset. Its perspective was summed up by his closing anecdote – a departing British officer in May 1948 handing the iron bar to the Zion Gate to a trembling rabbi and telling him it was the first time in 18 centuries that a key to the gates of the Jerusalem was in the hands of a Jew. In other words, it was a big-picture speech, referencing the Holocaust, the pogroms, Masada – and the challenges that lie ahead. Sen. Obama was not mentioned in the text. No Democrat was mentioned, save for President Truman, in the context of his recognition of the new state of Israel when it was a mere 11 minutes old.

Nonetheless, Barack Obama decided that the president's speech was really about him, and he didn't care for it.

OH, no car seats from yard sales, no way. We are gonna go to Target for that and my wifes mechanic is gonna install it properly.

You might check online before you bother to buy one. Carseats seem to be particularly prone to recalls. Re installing it, I'm not sure the mechanic will do any better than you would yourself.

I thought Jesse was disgraced in Minnesota politics.

The Wildcats beat my Rebels two out of three games in baseball this weekend. They are pretty good this year.

Well, he is a disgrace, thats for sure. In the Gov race he forced a split along the line of a 33-33-34, and the dems are hoping he will do it again but draw more votes from Coleman. My aunt would be happy with either Jesse or Franken(stein)(2nd down on the right, Beauty and the beast).

The US will allow Sharia law to be implemented when one or both parties involved are Muslims.

Where do you mean? Here in the US? Not in a pig's eye it won't. That would be rather unconstitutional. Just in case you missed it, even Afghanistan is not 100% muslim. There is at least one Jew and one apostate. Or there was one apostate before he moved to Rome to escape being killed for apostasy under the judicial system that WE allowed in the name of "democracy."

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has a website where you can check on the latest recalls. And there are also a couple of watchdog type groups that tend to stay pretty up on carseats and other baby things.

When I was in the Army and stationed in the CZ at the Jungle Warfare school we kept a whole mess of animals and reptiles and spiders in a zoo so that trainees could get a could look at what they might run into out there. On a sunny day off once, I was sunbathing and one of my bud's who worked in the Zoo brought "Lucy" and "CC" our two Cougars out for a walk - they came right over to me, licked my face, the laid down on either side of me and PURRRED! Waay too hot for a "fur coat" but also WAAAY too scared to move, I scrathed one behind the ears - very tentatively. She responded by slurping her tongue down my face and snuggling closer.
If we hadn't cut down their "prey" territory, they'd (the wild Cougars) avoid man like the plague.

I am sure you have interesting stories. My father inspired me to be a republican, but I live in the deep south too.

The fly in the ointment is the Mad Mullahs' are going have a THE bomb in the next POTUS' term.

BHO is clueless as the ramifications of that.

YOU MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT THE NEED FOR NATIONAL SECURITY AND THE OBAMAMASSAH GOES OFF ON THE 'FEAR MONGERING RANT'

Many lizards don't buy into the armchair psychiatrist crap, but man, this describes the Obama nearly to a T.

Scary stuff, and yes, I have worked with patients with severe personality disorders.

BHO has only one problem (yes, I know, don't raise your eyebrows so quickly), if he won't be elected as president his next job will be feeding the pigeons on Capitol Hill. So I guess this makes him a bit cranky, and backbone-less when it comes to opinions and believes (even when it comes to his own).

P.S.
Would have loved to see him on the Survivor show

Hey,
I've got it BHO and HBO have a lot more in common than just the letters of the name: both show very nice pictures and use very nice language and vocabulary; but in the end the content.... There is none.

I was raised by two of them. It sucked. Thankfully I traveled alot and was shunted off to other family - but I'm still getting over it.
