Down the Memory Hole with Daily Kos

Tue, May 20, 2008 at 9:16:49 am PDT

It took them an entire day to get around to it, but there goes another hateful, ugly post down the memory hole at Daily Kos: Daily Kos: The NEW IMPROVED Southern Strategy.

Here’s what they’re trying to hide.

Meanwhile, another post that’s actually even worse has remained at Daily Kos for an entire week: Daily Kos: Eulogy before the Inevitability of Self-Destruction: The Decline and Death of Israel.

Here’s just one of the vile illustrations in this openly antisemitic diary:

I don't understand why Kos would shove the one story down the memory hole, but not the earlier, hateful story about the death of Israel.
Can anyone explain that to me? (apologies in advance for my ignorance).

The difference is that the utterly disgusting poster is likely to harm their cause; the utterly disgusting article won't.

That's mind-boggling, but there it is.

What these morons, muslims and MSM all seem to neglect is how Israel is going to respond to it's demise. Will it go quietly into the night, allowing the barbarians to cut off their heads without a fight or will it use that nuclear arsenal.
The talk of Israel dying should give people all cause to think how the rest of the region will look after the Jews have been pushed into the sea. Will it all be peace and harmony or will it be a sea of glass from the Jordan River to the Ganges?

I don't think this poster at Kos is a native English speaker, based on some of the sentence structure:

"In doing so, it incursed beyond the border previously agreed in 1949 Armistice treaty..."

Lefties as rule tend to avoid looking at the big picture of reality because in reality they are the bad guys. But they do need to feel good about themselves so they looked around for some downtrodden people to support. Of course if they looked at the big picture they would understand that the "Palestinians" have to be stomped on because otherwise they would go about and do the usual Muslim "Warrior" behaviors such as rape, robbery, and murder on a mass scale. Not to mention the genocide thing.

Hope that helps.

It does, by its existence. However, given the negative response in the comments, perhaps the moderators felt that this was an example they could point to as "our commenters aren't anti-semites! See!"

Personally, I think it ought to be removed, or ought to have a sentence-by-sentence refutation. But that would assume the moderators have the English and logic skills and historical knowledge to deal with the essay's multiple errors.

This paragraph from the Kos diary is way too long for a rotating title all by itself, but contains several within it. Good to memorize if you want a rant to help you blend in at a neo-nazi rally or on campus at UC Irvine:

"With the secret nuclear warhead arsenals scattered in secure storages and seated in the racks of the bomber planes and on the head of the missiles awaiting idle somewhere in the conquered land, Israel's conceited sense of its right to rule the world as the "chosen" children, in part or whole, cannot be had without the hijacking of the financial and military sectors of Imperial West to facilitate the culture of a misanthrophically destructive program in subduing the Middle East region for its consumption in drinking the wine of despotic power to expand by the proxies of war.

The wine of absurdity.

Koskid aware of a problem...
Why post comments or write diaries, while stoned?

Recently I wrote and published a soul-wrenching diary.

Most of the comments posted to it were respectful and sane.

But one.

This particular comment was so bizarre; it was both filled with alleged documentation and cites, but it was also riddled with errors in reading comprehension, knowledge, and reasoning.

I suspected that the writer was stoned. Either on alcohol or drugs.

I called the writer of the comment out on it.

Later in the day, when I had more time, I found in his archived comments, evidence that the writer did indeed claim to use recreational drugs via a bong.

While I'm not either the substance abuse police or the thought police, I do feel that it's reasonable for me to expect the person writing is not drunk or stoned out of their gourd.

Is that too much to ask?

LOL

The Daily Kos, where 16 years old come to vent.

The Daily Kos, where "I hate you and I'm running away and never talking to you again," is internalized.

The Daily Kos, where everyone else is racist, except us, but especially the right, because we're the ones who really care about people and borderline or outright racism is ok!, like, yea.

The Daily Kos, where grammar and proper sentence structure are optional. If you criticize, you're a grammarcist!

Why is it that "statists" like the unabashed Socialists at DKos are always accusing their political opponents of being "fascists", the ultimate "statists"? Iraqi Troops Enter Shi'ite Camp

(BAGHDAD) — Thousands of Iraqi troops moved unchallenged into Baghdad's Sadr City Tuesday to seize the shi'ite militia stronghold, in the largest attempt yet by the government to impose control, an Iraqi military spokesman said.

Woody Guthrie was a champion at stuffing things down the memory hole. As long as the pact between Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia was in effect he was a committed isolationist, actively supporting efforts to keep the US from providing aid to the British. After Hitler invaded the USSR, he seamlessly became a supporter of American intervention on the side of the Allies. Everything prior to Barbarossa went conveniently down the memory hole. After V-E day, he again seamlessly transitioned back to the theme of "USA bad", "USSR Good".

I believe the technical term is "projection."

I think projecting requires a little bit of "premeditative" thought and is a deliberate act. I doubt very much they even think about it. It's just reflexive and a lazy attempt at bullying.

This may have been pointed out by someone here when Charles previously posted about this anti-Semitic Kos Diary, but just in case not...

The coffin image is decidedly un-Jewish. By that I mean: Jews don't lie in state or in a wake with an open-view casket; and the traditional Jewish coffin is a plain pine box or maybe only slightly fancier--usually no metallic side-handles or padded satiny inlay, for instance, and in general nothing ornate. (Of course, there are always exceptions.)

I know this observation deals with perhaps the least of the sins of this Diary, but this particular aspect of the Diary's ignorance is amusing to me.

Once you turn 18 YOU are responsible for how you act and think, not all of those scapegoats in grade school. Thats the same cop-out thinking that lefties use to excuse all of the crap they tolerate in our society. If we were teaching personal responsibility instead of victimhood in our schools and colleges, we would not be so damn pathetic as we are.

According to the poll after the post, only 4% of Kossacks approved of it.
Now I have a question. Why is it still there? Why haven't the Kossacks been vehementing agitating for its removal?
I submit that it is because they are dedicated to free speech....on the left. Fox News, talk radio, LGF need to be shut up, of course; but anything, however vile, on their side of the aisle is worthy of a hearing.
Thus they end up legitimizing ideas that they themselves know to be false and noxious.

135 GoatGuy  Tue, May 20, 2008 10:07:53am

Eulogy, schmeulogy.

Don't get me wrong, fellow lizards ... I think that Israel has done just about every rational thing it can to create the State of Israel from a sovereignty point of view.

But sociologically? It is being overrun demographically by its WAY more fecund so called neighbors. The time that it, as a functioning democracy, remains viable is pretty obviously limited so long as the trend continues.

Which brings up a hard ethical and moral problem - not unique in any way to Israel, but to all the countries and communities of the globalized world: balancing the preservation of one proud way of life against the influence, corruption and potential destruction of that way of life by the immigrants or coeval citizens who hold a completely different way of life as central to their utopian theme.

The way that's worded, it sounds bad.

Is it?

I'm not sure: when in America the waves immigrants were Irish during the potato famine, the "Micks" were roundly reviled. Conjure up all nasty bigotted terms, and there you have what people felt about the poorer-n-dirt Irish that landed here desparate to escape the starvation of Ireland, and hopeful to work an honest day to boot. The Polish immigrants had it no easier, and continue to be taken as the butt of many a joke. Italians? Them and their garlic! (as my granny used to say.) Yet what happened in the intervening 100 years? One should look closely: the Russians and Belarus and Kazakhs and 100 flavors of Oriental Asian ... continue to debark on our shores. Bringing with them funny liquors, unspeakable foodstuffs, threatening conversational hand-signals and trainloads of why-do-they-have-to-be-so-cute children with them.

In those 100 years, Italians married Greeks, Poles, Russians. Africans unslaved married everyone too, along with the Hispanics, Asians, and so far as I can tell, everyone except perhaps the Greenlanders. Dutifully, all sorts of mix-mix kids lept forth, aware, but unconcerned that their heritage would forever be dual-origin in nature. It was no problem! Barmitzvas, Confirmations, Maypoles, 4th of Julys... The third generation had even fewer 'pure' Italians, or Jews, or Greeks, or Costa Ricans. More mix!

And what do we have now? Vestigal memories of European heritage, supplanted entirely by American Tradition. We reinvented or invented things to fill the belly, to crack a smile, to swoon a lady, to contravert an enemy. America became American precisely by way of this merger of customs. We don't have walls to keep the Irish in Boston, the French in New Orleans, the Germans in Wachovia, the Jews in New York. Don't need 'em. Don't want 'em. Definitely Anti-American.

So, it is entirely accurate and fair to say that the America defined mostly by New England (at first) was replaced by the America of somewhat tritely stylized 'regional' Americanism.

If this is the future of Israel, then all the sucked-in shock regarding the future of her Jewish communities is misplaced. If nothing else, modern media is the binding and merging force that is changing each and every generation to be less unique and more unified. The Jews do marry the Arabs, the Christians, and even the Muslims. Because ISRAEL is a real, practical, open democracy ... the young are FREE to choose what religion they practice, and as very very liberal folks through their hardship, they also staunchly defend the liberties of the individual.

The demographics of the Mohammedans both in 'Palestine' and Israel will guarantee that the Jewish people will likely fall to minority status soon. Like the whites in South Africa. There is going to be resistance, but ultimately ... it will all be run slightly different, and with the coming generations - so long as liberty is maintaned - the Jews probably have a lot less to fear than they imagine.

Now. If they could just get rid of the Mad Bombers and the Mentality that harbors them.

re: #165 Dianna

So the prognosis isn't good? I don't know much about brain tumors, but what I'm seeing doesn't sound good.

Not good at all. Wouldn't be good if he was 50 years younger in perfect health. This kind of cancer is very rapid growing and very invasive - and was not there back in October when he had surgery on his carotid.

OT
Fox News reporting Ted Kennedy has a brain tumor.

This is bad news, link

re: #150 MarineMomSue

Tumor is malignant, Fox news is saying now..

Not good. Not good at all....

re: #169 MarineMomSue

They say radiation and chemo are the "usual" treatments. I wonder if surgery is even being considered?

Prayers for him and his family..

That was before they announced that it was a glioma.

re: #165 Dianna

With a glioma? I would say it is probably one of the worst kind. Not the greatest prognosis, but the Mass. General is probably one of the very best in the world.

I imagine that there will be a news conference soon.

175 loppyd  Tue, May 20, 2008 10:26:41am

From CNN (forgive me)

Kennedy has malignant tumor
Sen. Edward Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor. The hospital treating Kennedy released a statement today saying that the tumor was found during tests after the senator had a seizure Saturday. The tumor is in his left parietal lobe. Full story soon.

re: #165 Dianna

Sadly I saw too much of it, as an RN, but I have not worked for years.

The word 'glioma' would cause a very sad reaction. I am sure that there have been advances since I last worked....

re: #173 galloping granny

granny, with your later reports I agree, it sounds like he's out of it pretty much immediately for aggressive treatment.

178 dolfan  Tue, May 20, 2008 10:29:39am

Read the comments posted here about Ted Kennedy.

Now, just for kicks, change "Kennedy" for "George Bush" and tell me that these same comments would be said at Kos.

Yeah, right.

Why not braille on bills to indicate different denominations?

DOH, thanks for the update.

Info on Glioma from the Mayo Clinic's website

Treatment Options

Treatment for a glioma — and survival odds — depends on the tumor type, size and location, and the patient's age and overall health. Gliomas can be complex, and a variety of techniques and procedures needed to treat them. Read more about glioma treatment options.

Such hatred for Israel.....rabid, seething, foaming at the mouth RAGE some people have. I just cant understand it.......

As for Ted Kennedy having a brain tumor, I wish him all the best. Hopefully he will be ok...although, chances are he will not make it long, unfortuantely.

They talked about that too. If not braile per se, something raised.

I don't know which would be less troublesome/expensive. I'm sure there are all sorts of things to consider, not just the printing process itself, but the myriad ways bills are used. Things like vending machines, ATMs, etc.

I'm all for helping people out, it is just the "made to" issue for me.

Actually, I thought there were little optical readers made especially so the blind *can* identify bills, same electronics as in bill-accepting vending machines. I thought they had it down to the size of a pen.

A quick trip thru Google doesn't turn up any such thing, I was sure I saw it at a trade show as long ago as 10+ years.

I hadn't heard of them, but given that yes, I know of machines that can tell a five from a one, the tech exists.

So why the lawsuit, I wonder? This is a simple way to modify the existing world around them to suit their special needs, rather than making the whole world change. I liken it to wearing shoes rather than insisting the whole world be carpeted.

Hey Charles,

I think you should have a section called "KOZ / Huffington Post Greatest Hits" where you immortalized all the hate filled, inhumane vile crap that those guys put up then take down only after they realize it's exposing the truth about what the mindset of the progressive really is.

Although, come to think of it, you'd probably save time by just putting up a link to the site.

re: #179 sngnsgt

They already do this in other countries, such as Israel and the Netherlands. And Canada has had it for years, in addition to having different colors for each banknote. The UK has different colors and sizes.

Israel assassignated JFK? WHO KNEW
geez

"beginning with November 22, 1963 coup d'etat in CIA-MOSSAD coordinated assassination of President Kennedy which unnaturally led to the hasty re-evaluation of American foreign policy for adjustion that align with the interests of Israeli state for total compatibility in irreversibly entangled alliance."

These people are insane

Charles is somewhat too critical of DailyKos in the sense that such posting are not their fault. Anyone can sign up at Daily Kos and write a "Diary." The mere appearance of such diaries is not reflective of anything good or bad about DailyKos.

Instead, what must be analyzed and judged is the reaction of the DailyKos community and administration to this sorts of Diaries.

The antisemetic diary has been left up. It has been done so because the Dailykos community (reflective in their comments) has been highly critical of this posting. Thus, there is no embarassment to DailyKos, some deranged idiot says hateful things, but the community disowns it (although this allows them to have it both ways, they can continue to propogate the elements that agree with, while formally disowning its more hateful content).

The Southern Strategy Diary is more interesting. When it was first linked to, I took a look at it. What is notable was how well recieved the diary was. This diary was pull down not because of its hateful content, but because the DailyKos community was expressing agreement with it.

Israel and the Jews will be around and thriving when everyone has forgotten Kos and its leftoid nimrod haters, a word they love to attach to conservatives that reveals noting more than the proclivity of the neurotic and psychotic their reliance on psychological projection to quell the the inner conflicts of the neurotic and psychotic.
Freud now mostly discredited got somethings right when he identified the needs of the neurotic and mentally unstable such as the kossacks to project their insecurities, madnesses, phobias, and irrationalities onto those they feel threatened by be they individuals or nations.

196 Annar  Tue, May 20, 2008 1:19:42pm

Send the whole Kos gang to do a vigil around that well in Qom. We wouldn't want them to miss it when that Jack in the box Mahdi pops out for the start of the final days led by Isa (the Islamic Jesus). They could then hope to be witnesses to the fulfillment of this prophecy:

"Judgment day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews, and the Muslims will kill the Jews, and then the Jews will hide behind stones or trees, and the stone or the tree will say: Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him - except for the Gharqad, which is a tree of the Jews."

The protocols of the Daily Kos are low quality hate literature like many of the hadith and the Qur'an for that matter.

197 Seaberry  Tue, May 20, 2008 1:56:43pm

In that second diary link, it points to a map of - "Greater Israel". I've often wondered why Israel didn't expand (for security reasons), and the "Yellow" area on that map looks real good - Yellow is future planned conquest.

198 Jim708  Tue, May 20, 2008 2:55:20pm

Come on now Charles, it is easy to understand why that post went down the hole. Obama is up in arms about his partner (when did the terms husband and wife go out of vogue? I missed the memo) being the centre of attention......errr taken to task, yeah that's it.

Kos is just abiding by the ruler's wishes is all.

199 Dr. Shalit  Tue, May 20, 2008 5:48:50pm

Read the Revisionism, Looked at the Poll Results - even the "Kos-Sacks" think the article is POOP! By the way, the 1946 Map is a laugh. The UN Partition Map was more like it, and still put largely Jewish Owned Land under "Palestinian" rule, including "AL QUDS" - JERUSALEM to the rest of all 'y'all, if you believe the map. In fact Jerusalem was to have been an "International City," kinda sorta like The Vatican. AND - the Jewish Agency/Haganah/Mapai/Government of Israel would have gone with it. Like DUH - "Palestine" could have been created in 1948, with more land than now, had things remained "peaceful." Forgetting the fact that the "IRGUN MAP" showed the area of the original LEAGUE of NATIONS "Palestine Mandate" - like the "Homeland for the Jews" - of which they were screwed out of, "Trans-Jordan," by the British Foreign Office as a consolation prize to the HASHEMITES - after losing the Arabian Peninsula to the Saudis, (THANX MUCH Papa PHILBY.) History has gone on, the 1948 War was initiated by the surrounding and nearby (LIKE IRAQ) Arab Nations. The Arab Alliance LOST the WAR, and had to seek terms of Surrender.
The Israeli State accepted Arab/Muslim & Christians living in their territories as citizens. The Arab States more or less exiled their Jews, about 750,000 of them to Israel. Now, The Arab/Jewish refugees are Israelis. The Arab/Muslim refugees are - STILL "REFUGEES" - with their own UN Welfare Agency. Truthfully, Israel screwed up on this one, never should have let them become citizens, should have let them live on "World Welfare" just as the "Palestinian" Arab has. Why NOT? Perhaps the Israeli State is at least a "tad" less racist than their neighbors? Could actually be true - after all "Racist Israel" has allowed Darfurian Victims IN - even Egypt has NOT! I could go on and on, AND am getting tired of doing so.
As for my "Ideal" Map it would look like "SUEZ, Jordan River, Litani River/Golan Heights. In the days of a nation having "Defensible Borders," THIS MAKES EMMINENT SENSE, every border has a Sea/River Coast or Heights of a Mountain Range, perfect defenses. Will it happen? NO! The HONOR of the Israeli State has already given back the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. Egypt has been honorable enough to maintain the "Cold Peace" if not be friendly. Same goes for the Kingdom of Jordan, a "Lukewarm Peace," each side staying on their own side of the river. Lebanon is a question mark - With a strong Lebanese Government, the "Blue Line"is quite enough - Problem is, there hasn't been a strong Lebanese Government since the 1950's. The Litani, if taken, would be taken with tears, shed for a Lebanon unable to control its future. As to Judea, Samaria and Gaza - DON'T ASK! In 1993/4 they were given the chance to become a responsible people/government. In the ensuing years - Even BILL GATES - as an annonymos donor got SCA-REWED - The Sopranos would not have stolen and looted as much. In Fact, a STRONG ARAB GOVERNMENT would not have allowed their tantrums. Thousands would have been killed and buried in MASS GRAVES - See: Saddam Hussein, Iraq - See: Assad, the Elder, Syria, Homa.
In short, when the ARAB MUSLIM MALE becomes an adult, the rest of the world will WELCOME HIM. Until then?
