Terror T-Shirt Merchant Answers Critics

Fri, May 23, 2008 at 4:09:04 pm PDT

The maker of that T-shirt that Urban Outfitters was selling (they’ve since dropped it from their catalog), with pictures of Palestinian children brandishing weapons under a peace dove and the slogan “Victimized,” has a very special message for LGF readers and others who criticized his sick piece of trash, at FRESHJIVE.

His thoughtful opinion piece ranges from foreign policy and the Arab-Israeli conflict, to the need for respectful dialog...

Respectful dialog between people who disagree is essential to the health of a democratic culture.

... and the need for LGF readers to perform anatomical impossibilities:

But if you’re gonna come at me with spinned out moronic accusations, I’ll just respond to you in the same assinine way, and that will be to tell you to go f*ck yourself.

Peace out!

Peace out indeed. "Respectful dialogue" obviously refers to dialogue that agrees with him.

It's amazing that he doesn't get that plastering brainwashed palestinian kids on tee-shirts for profit so some Hollywood airhead can appear fashionalble by "making a statement" isn't victimizing them yet again.

I still amazed Urban Outfitters could be so oblivious to the obvious, overt, and perverse political sentiments inherent in the art work on that shirt. If we played even a small part in either bringing them to their senses or more likely just embarrassing the hell out of them, then I feel good.

Cartoonist honored for Mohammed portrait

The Danish artist who drew a controversial cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban has received a press freedom award.

The Danish Free Press Society presented Kurt Westergaard with its Sappho Award at a ceremony Thursday evening, the Copenhagen Post reported. The award is named after the Greek poet Sappho.

That's an easy one. Muslims bring peace and stability, Christians are warmongers:

THE WORLD'S GOT PROBLEMS: SOMALIA, ETHIOPIA, AND THE U.S. WAR OF TERROR

A little context: These bombings are directed at members of al-Shabaab, which is the military wing of the Islamic Courts Union who briefly controlled much of Somalia in 2006 -- and who had brought relative peace and stability to the chaotic yet oil rich nation -- before they were forced from power by U.S.-backed Ethiopian troops. (Christian Ethiopia is a historic enemy of Somalia, which is almost entirely Sunni Muslim.)

(...)

Amnesty International has collected many accounts of atrocities by Ethiopian troops.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below.

She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but now I have no idea where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Well, if I could do that, I wouldn't be spending any time posting here.

Heck, I wouldn't be doing much of anything, anywhere.

As a matter of fact, back in the 50's or 60's brain researchers discovered what's come to be known as the "pleasure center" of the brain. In one remarkable experiment, rats with electrodes implanted into this region of their brains were confined to cages equipped with two levers. Pressing one lever dispensed food. Pressing the other stimulated this "pleasure center". The rats chose repeated stimulation to the point of exhaustion and death.

After reading the Freshjive fella's response to the kerfluffle I considered other interpretations.

I think it's art. I'm sure only a moonbat would wear one but as an image I looked at on the internet it did the things to me that art does.

Lyrics from the song "Out of Touch", by the late, great Chuck Schuldiner:

Trapped in a lost world of brutality
So weak are the ones that must rely on shock
To push this so called force that inspires their call
To be extreme so it seems is a mental crutch
To cover up for those that are completely out of touch
Say what you want, I know the truth when it comes to your Kind

In time we'll see who lasts
In time you will disappear
Who are you to question my sincerity
For now you are high on yourself
Drowning in your dreams of misguided hope
To be extreme so it seems is a mental crutch
To cover up for those that are completely out of touch

Something the folks from not-so-freshjive aught to meditate on for a while.

More T-shirt suggestions:

1. Mohammed, wearing ray bans.

2. Any of the dreaded Mo 'Toons, or all of them together! (They can even wear ray bans.)

3. A picture of the Palestinians dancing and celebrating on 9/11, with the caption, "Victimized?"

4. A picture of Gilad Shalit, with the caption "victimized!"

5. A picture of a customer of Urban Outfitters, with the caption, "victimized!"

6. A picture of Suha-ha-ha Arafat in her Paris apartment, with the caption, "Poverty sucks!"

7. A picture of Rachel Ray shilling for Duncan Doughnuts in a keffiyah, with the caption, "Let them eat doughnuts!"

(Let's have a contest, thinking up t-shirts for freshjive!)

I'll take two of each!

Am so glad to hear that. :)

We've had horrible weather in NE Ohio. Low 40's in the a.m. - lots of rain...blah...blah.

It was actually nice this afternoon for a change.

Hah!

Waaaaay back when, one of my stepfathers was friends with Roth. He painted some really kewl stuff in the corners of our livingroom walls.

I was about 13 or 14 at the time. What a way to be the 'popular girl' at high school.

By the way, I'm working my butt off in a new residential property management job (not a job, it's a "way of life" 24/7). I'm 62, with a couple of bad things that reduced any retirement savings we had (illness with family member needing our help, and then an illnes with us which wiped out our retirement). We're tired, we've "paid our dues to society", we've helped hundreds of people, we've donated to hopefully good charities, we've helped family, friends and co-workers. We've paid our taxes all these years and attempted to vote for the best possible candidates for the good of this great country of ours. We've NEVER waivered in our support of our troops. We've been "good neighbors." We've contacted our elected officials, repeatedly, to do the right thing ' for the good of the most,' and I got to tell y'all...in spite of being downright really godawful tired,

/it's been worth it.
//never give up!

P.S. Is this what is considered a rant? Whatever it was, it felt good when I finished (kinda like ...well... you know). ;)

I was a one time enthusiastic Clinton voter and a second time hold my nose voter, and I remember developing a dislike and distrust of the Clintons. But I always believed that they believed but not so sure that Goldwater Girls change into a liberal democrat wasn`t just calculation as well.

I love the joke though I forget which comedian said it. This election is unfair, with a Black History Month, February, Obama had one whole month to play up the significance of selecting a black president, whereas there is no equal time because there is no White B&$'H History Month. Something like that.

re: #51 godfrey

Why does lefty suddenly have no problem with kids' access to assault weapons like the AK?

Man, that's the problem; the Lefties designed the AK-47 with little kids in mind, in the first place. Little kids, the little men, the racially short, the effeminate, and of course radical women, would-be revolutionaries all.

You know, people that otherwise and normally wouldn't make it across the street carrying a real rifle like say an M1 Garand, let alone hope to actually bring it to shoulder and fire it. More than once anyway.

The Communist Manifesto said "through violent Revolution" didn't say anything about about how old, or not using kids. And the Soviets certainly didn't have any signs saying "You Must Be At Least This Tall to Ride" and or make Revolutionary Struggle .

273 Trippin  Fri, May 23, 2008 6:48:00pm

Setting aside the message of these T-Shirts, I find the design amateurish and unimaginative.

274 profitsbeard  Fri, May 23, 2008 6:54:40pm

I want the Urban Outfitter Uber-Alles Brand shirt with the sad-looking Hitlerjungen kid toting a Luger machine pistol, surrounded by the logos: "Victim of Versailles", "My Last Territorial Demand" and "Arbeit Mach Frei".

They gave the "Palestinians" a state in 1948.

They wanted more.

And got less.

Tough T-T's.

275 Dotcoman  Fri, May 23, 2008 6:54:55pm

Hey Lizards congrats on calling attention to Urban Outfitters and those despicable terrorist tees, and getting them removed from the shelves/

Getting under the skin of this this Rick Klotz guy and watching him melt down is just a bonus . I hope his dog bites him and he has a rotten Memorial Day Weekend.

Hug Vets, not trees!

276 hazzyday  Fri, May 23, 2008 7:06:42pm

Urban Outfitters must be a poorly run company. While I read porn like any normal guy. The jive site is inappropiate for anything dealing with kids. The Freshjive owner just seems like one of those intelligent people who is misdirected in life.

Associating kids with violence is bad. Making money off it is worse. A better message would be if he make the effort to point out to the Palestinians that this is a bad way to raise a kid. He can't and won't because he identifies with the violence and considers it appropiate.

His psych falls in the Paulian/Troofer world. He has read a few lame pieces of propoganda and then formed his psuedo scientific opinion. A waste of a mind.

We get the Urban Outfitters catalog at home. It's got the ugliest goddamn clothes in the world in it. It's like someone is mocking the people who buy that shit. It goes into the round file within seconds of hitting the kitchen counter.

279 godfrey  Fri, May 23, 2008 7:23:04pm

I remember Urban Outfitters. There was one in Madison, WI. It was one of those places that catered to disaffected high-school students with more biliousness than brains, but who, being spoiled, could afford its absurdly high mark-up.

280 really grumpy big dog Johnson  Fri, May 23, 2008 7:27:13pm

One of the identifying characteristics of a socialist society is a relative lack of accountability. Everything is controlled and subsidized by the state, therefore accountability is a secondary consideration.

Urban Outfitters survives within a socialist sub-economy that exists in the USA, and closely aligned with those who desire "change" for our country. Change to a world where you don't need to sell your worth in order to succeed, you must simply work the system.

This is what we are facing in this election. The media are hell-bent by and large to elect Barack Obama as the next president. We know all too well what that means. This is so serious, and much of the population is clueless as to what this means.

There is no social conscience in what Urban Outfitters is doing, they are merely attracting like souls to their own world of isolation and new world order. We know that, and we need to keep it from happening. The first jihad will merely lead to the next.

281 rorschach  Fri, May 23, 2008 7:35:26pm

This is not their first time at marketing pro terrorist goods.

re: #173 TalkinKamel

That's a good one.

Here's another: "I played Tiger & Hyena with Yassir Arafat back in the Good Old Days, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!" (and/or a pair of ray bans. Or a doughnut.)

Anyone who played Tiger & Hyena with old Arafish probably got more than a lousy T-shirt, or a pair of Ray-Bans or a doughnut. They probably got enough HIV to guarantee them a ring-side seat to watch the grass grow from the underside.

Good thing they planted the old bastard in Gaza. If he had been buried in the USA, perish the thought, his grave would be declared a Superfund site.

Respectful dialog between people who disagree is essential to the health of a democratic culture....

But if you’re gonna come at me with spinned out moronic accusations, I’ll just respond to you in the same assinine way, and that will be to tell you to go f*ck yourself.

"Respectful dialog" is reserved for those who agree with him, obviously. To anyone who disagrees, well...

That is the ONLY answer he has, and there's a very simple reason for this: the public education system in this country, from preschool to post-graduate, has been nothing but leftist indoctrination. With no exposure to ideas challenging the post-modern Marxist mindset that's been ingrained in them since childhood, even a college education does not prepare them to defend these beliefs in a rational manner. They're first and only response is ad hominem. Anyone holding opposing views must be an "evil fascist" and they have no other way of looking at them because, during their educational careers, they've never been confronted with them. It's intellectual laziness.

"Good old days"? Yasser Arafat? What's next, Mr. Klotz, Adolf Hitler?

More likely, the Grand Mufti and his beautiful Bosnian SS Division.

Slogans ... slogans ... slogans. These lefties just can't think independently. This is why they can't make an argument, and this is why they are so prone to 4 letter words.

290 pat  Fri, May 23, 2008 10:16:55pm

I have met many like this. They have been assured their entire lives that they are smart. They have also been convinced that being an anti- American liberal is an intelligent decision. So they take that road, to demostrate how smart they are. When challenged, their average IQ and lack of education reveals them as the average ill-educated, loud mouths they are. Hence the lash out. The right has it's counterpart. But they secretly know they are idiots. (because they have been told so.)

re: #122 Toasty

One of his shirts has Arafat in sunglasses with a logo underneath that says "The Good Old Days".

Since the designer is probably reading, I'll say this to him:

I've known enough modern artists and designers in my time and, to be honest, I nearly believed the childlike naivety you served up as an excuse. I was thinking "this guy is just a tasteless mercenary who's using radical iconography of a bloody conflict he knows nothing about".

I thought "he's an ignorant prick, but not necessarily a Jew-hater". Until, of course, I scrolled down the page and saw the Arafat tshirt.

What sort of lame-arsed excuse do you expect us to swallow for that one? That the "good old days" doesn't refer to the era when Arafat was killing Jews himself? That it refers to the 60's as a whole? You know - the Woodstock era?

And what's next? I know - how about a nice Hanes Beefy with a picture of Auschwitz and the word "karma" printed on in tasteful lime green?

I'm sure it will be snapped up by your demographic (brain dead fashionistas that know piss-all about politics or history, but mark out their individualism with throwaway outrage).

FOAD

It would be unprofitable for Urban Outfitters to send a catalog to tens of thousands of homes where it was merely tossed in the trash seconds after receipt.

Just stating the obvious over here, boss.

294 warlock  Sun, May 25, 2008 8:59:38am

The Palestinian kids are victimized, by their own CULTURE OF DEATH perpetrated by their parents and religion.

If you want to show victimized children, show Jewish kids who were blown up by some mass murdering muslim.
