I can't believe that horrible diary is still there.....what with all the disinfecting they've been doing lately.
Is it possible that they like it, they really like it?
Retrograde agitprop lead-ins, tired canards, unraveling yarns. The antisemitc Kos entry is littered with 'em. Everything from the Jenin 'massacre' and Cory Pancakes to the false and tired lie that Palestinians actually lost land from '46 to 2000 when in fact those deeds were willingly sold by palis(who had no right to them) and purchased by kibbitzees anyway.
The entire article is a corn riddled shit stain of willful doublespeak.
Oh No. They've posted another "nothin but a kid" Dkos diary
She looked at me with a look of fear and said, "this young man is going to be a Marine."
I turned from her and looked at the boy. He was about 5'8" and he couldn't have weighed more than 130 lbs. soaking wet. His blonde hair was trimmed to just this side of a buzz cut. His big blue eyes were shining with innocence. His face was smooth as a peach, just the slightest bit of fuzz starting to kiss his cheeks. "Jesus," I thought, "this kid isn't even shaving yet."
"How old are you?" I asked.
Once again, bleeding heart self- important liberal knows what's best for everyone else.
Why oh why are there links to that shithole of slimy stinkbattery oozing pus filled , fly blown, gas ridden, sinkhole of a "site". It only makes the geeky greekster feel important.
The fact that they toss other threads down the memory hole shows that they have a tiny bit of conscience. Or at least they can see how others might be "too dumb" to understand their finely nuanced views and might take offense.
But this Israel diary. It's as if they have no doubt it's acceptable.
Actually, it's proof they have no doubt.
Or just, as you say, no conscience when it comes to this.

I wish I knew what criteria Markkkos uses in determining which to toss.
Our only hope is a media blitz to tell them that sex is WORK. If we are successful they will cease to breed. On the plus side, given that 1/2 of America is Dem, and 10% are gay, we can deduce that 20% of dems are already non breeders, and the majority of the rest are prochoice, meaning that they don't reproduce nearly as much as they could.
"I'll be alright," he said, "I had two grandfathers and a great uncle who were in WWII, an uncle who was in Korea, my dad was in Vietnam and one of my cousins was in Desert Storm. They all came out fine and I will, too. Nothing bad can happen to me."
I'm sure that's exactly what he said, too. Verbatim. I know that's the argument I used when I joined the Army.
Is it safe to enter? Sissy boy isn't in here is he?
Yes, let's derail another thread with our nonsensical bickering. Or are you going to run away and hide again you fucking pussy? C'mon, let's stalk each other it will be such fun for the whole bog. Everyone will enjoy it!
There were so many things running through my mind, a jumble of images of dead soldiers, of flag draped coffins brought home in secret, mothers and wives being handed carefully folded flags while all those around them wept, little children with eyes full of tears and a knowledge that no child should ever be burdened with.
That also happened to me when I enlisted. All of it. That's the only thing that happens to you in the military.
Ooooh, I like this take down on stroszek my a commenter.
You do learn something each day! (0+ / 0-) But as I said, there are recruiters who will help you get in
I turned 67 in Feb, and I actually thought I was waaay too old to re-up. Its nice to know that the US Army has finally came to its senses, and is letting us older citizens do our part for the country, I'm going to call them tomorrow, and will copy your comment, to show them how they have to take me. Yahoo! I'm going to shoot me some Arabs! Although I do appreciate your service in the "101st Keyboard Division", and all that you do to serve our great country, the fact is, you've really never done anything, other than set on your ass in front of a computer screen, to help the country, and holding a sign on some street corner, proclaiming your of support for your Guru, really doesn't count, in the grand scheme of things.
I will vote, and for a democrat, just not Saint O, and just because I'm not caught up in his fucking Hype, and slavishly devote my life to electing his lying ass, well, you get the picture.
Heh, heh. This guy may vote democrat, but at least he getspart of the overall picture.
I tried to use the new ! function. Yesterday (?) it had two options--one was for reporting a bad one and the other was for recommending a good one. Tonight, all it has is the reporting option.

Going to vote for Hillary, but still, he's not drinking the O-aid.
What the hell does it say about a group of people (KosKids) who want to rescue us from the "morally bankrupt" (Bushhitler regime) administration we have and "elevate" us to a regime of "change" and "loftier values", and yet time-after-time need to cleanse the stench of their gutter rhetoric from the light of day?

This is the sappiest mess I've seen in a long time.
Sorry for mixing metaphors/ sensory organs, but moral posturing/lecturing from KosKids who have such bile and vitriol and downright hatred motivating them is a little difficult to take.

"... and over there Mr. Chavez is the gunboat that is going the launch the Tomahawk missiles that will take out your army's command post. Over there, you see the carrier that will launch the F-18's that will make sure your army doesn't threaten your neighbors. ... and over there ..."
They leave up the anti-semitic diary in full............along with a poll showing over 90% think it's nasty. So why leave it up?
Paranoid minds want to know.
Interesting defense by that Hillary supporter muggle in the section there. I particularly like the way he referred to Strozek at the end of the exchange.
These people strike me as the kind of people that, when they hear about someone who wants to play football, envision nothing but torn ACLs and concussions.
"You want to be a soldier? OH NO! I saw a movie once and all the soldiers died!"
I especially liked sara seattle's belief that Obama will end the killing of Americans in Iraq and "hopefully force the Iraqis to get together as a country." WTF is she smoking?
How 'bout getting your own avatar and quit using mine.
/who's the stalker now?
C'mon, I've come to see your side of the argument. I've tried to get you to leave me alone but you won't agree (or you agree then continue anyways). Let's just stalk each other unit one or both of us are banned. It'll be such great fun for the whole blog and Charles will enjoy it as much as the rest of us. Let's get it on!
Yeah, I kinda posted it as a throw away link and didn't think it was really that important. I guess on Memorial Day weekend it looks extra bad. Go figure.
Do a file ->"Save Page As..." (in FireFox) or a Page ->"Save As..." in Explorer.
I did, saved twice (two formats in case the webpage html one doesn't work right). Someone else might want to grab it also, though. LOL I'd hate to be the only keeper of the crap in case I didn't do it right. ;)
re: #121 MandyManners
I just noticed that the link says there are 31 comments but I only count ten. They're going to need a bigger memory hole to stuff all that crap down.
Anti-Semitism from socialists? Not surprising at all; it continues the proud tradition of the Bolsheviks, Nazis, Arab Marxists, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, etc...
One of the reasons socialists hate Jews so much is their adeptness in practicing capitalism.

No worries. With your copy and mine, and with the magic of the wayback machine websites, that kind of stuff is always recoverable to some extent.
Unfortunately in a week or two, we will have seen so many other outrages that it will be tough to remember Stroszek's.

Nope, I'm not going to play little games. Nice try though.
I told you already, this is a blog. We debate. We argue sometimes. We challenge people who we disagree with. You definitely have a problem with Christianity and you make snide remarks about it and show your bigotry on a daily basis. If I see you doing it, I'll challenge you on it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Nothing personal about it, I'm not a Christian.
If you're going to cry and whine, so be it. That's your problem.
oh...and Salem, I'm expecting your down ding (like usual)
There is a word for the Kos Kids. It is 'puerlile'. The concept that no one is as stupid as young men. Pardon my spelling if not right. This is by telegraph.

Hi, wolfie!
How'd your Indian music home school project go?
Well, it's on India in general. I'm still working on plans. It's a summer unit study. We do one on a different country or region for 6 wks every summer.
We'll actually start in the middle of June.
I always learn as much as the kids do w/ these things. Love it!
Yes, that's for your updings of Sages stalker comments about me kissing Charles' ass regarding ID threads. Let's all divide into camps and stalk each other. It's such fantastic fun!

Sure, but it doesn't need to be done with an absolute lack of decency and respect.
A down ding or up ding has nothing to do with a low, debased insult like that.
I'm tired of the anti-atheist bullshit. You and I have patched up things and I hold no grudge. But there are still people who don't like the direction LGF is headed in and they want to take it out on me. I've tried to make peace but they want no part of it. Inshallah.

Sorry, jerk, you're gonna have to prove that one!
Stalker comments about you kissing Charles' ass...? ? ?
Funny how "dishing it out" and "taking it" works, isn't it!
Killgore is an anti-Christian bigot. Behead those who insult Mithra!
And you promised me you were going to ask Charles, I took you at your word, to delete your latest sock puppet, granted it's hard to keep track of them all.

Bullshit! You make snide remarks about Christians on almost every single thread. Tried to make peace my ass.
I have never made any snide remark about atheists. I've asked you politely to stop it with your anti-Christian bigotry, but you refuse. If other people make snide remarks about atheists...just let it go. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Oh joy! We've derailed another thread with our nonsensical bickering. I wonder how long Charles is going to put up with this crap. Which one of us is going to get banned? One or both? I can't wait to find out.
There are a plethora of snide remarks about atheists on every ID thread. Please...
And in order to be labeled as snide, doesn't a remark have to have an element of truth about it? Otherwise it would just be a non-sequitur, or something.
Otherwise I might be tempted to join the fray. As it is, I'm listening to loud music and hoping that all the people here that I like and respect will start being nice to one another again. If not, well, whatever.
You are wise beyond all reason! I'm no worse for the battle, but glad that it seems to be over. Others, it seems, have harmed themselves beyond repair.
Sorry I'm so late to the thread. Someone dumped a big metal thing in my backyard tonight. So if anyone lost a large hunk of metal with the designation "phoenix" on it, give me a call. Just for laughs my friends and I are going to let the cameras run a few days this time before we screw them all up.

I stopped by a nearby 7-11 today. The clerk on duty is a woman whose husband was a cop. He was shot by a meth dealer about 6 years ago.
This weekend let's remember all the policemen who have died fighting domestic enemies of freedom and civilization, too.

Shit!
It just landed, and already it's throwing stuff back?!?!?!?
Well it's not fully operational just yet. They are waiting for all the dust it kicked up to die down. Can't wait for more pictures and some of the results to return.

You're right!
So sad that hardly anyone remembers those souls as fallen soldiers.
Nah, it's all that space junk you earthers keep dumping on the homeworld. Keep it up and you'll be meeting your martian overlords soon enough. Overlords B'ushc and overlord CH'ny are waiting.

It's a shame to see someone go down the tubes so suddenly and vitroily. Makes you wonder what's happening in their personal life to cause such a severe change.

Still waiting. Keep reporting. Isn't this fantastic? We're not even discussing the topic of the thread or anything even remotely interesting to anybody! This is what LGF should be all about.

Except the whole lemming thing was a myth designed by Disney for one of his early nature programs. All turned out to be BS. Bunch of guys chucking hamsters off a cliff face. Tragic really
Newfie Screech is a type of rum that the Newfoundland fishermen drink. Story is that they used to take loads of fish to the caribbean to trade for rum. Give me a minute and I will find the wiki on the story how it got it's name.

Once a met a priest from New Brunwswick or PEI. He loved rum and he told me the story of how Canadian fishermen et al were smuggling rum (that would come from Jamaica and the Caribbean) into the USA during the prohibition.
Was that the 22nd ammendment?
My grandfather said he was a rum runner here in Toronto during Prohibition. His sister pooh-poohed the story. She said that he was always up and downstairs for breakfast in the morning. Well a couple of years ago I found out where they were living at the time.
The old family home was about a ten minute walk from the nearest beach. Also Toronto had a large Distillery district in the downtown core. Which also happens to be close to the lake. When I told my dad all that he smiled a bit. We figure my grandfather would go out at night do the runs and be home in time for breakfast. After everybody left for the day he would go to bed. Love the blacksheep in the family.

Hahahaha great recollections!
I even think the word "bootleg" was created there, but I may be wrong.
I'll always remember how Don Cherry pulled off a very moving tribute to the Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan during his coach's corner segment for CBC's Hockey Night In Canada on Veteran's Day 2006 while rah-rah go-USA FOX aired an episode of the Simpsons that didn't miss an opportunity to insult and denigrate American servicemen & women that same weekend.
/I wouldn't keep harping on it if they didn't pull this shit in the first place, but I have a long memory when it comes to this sort of thing.
I wouldn't bet against google. They usually pull something off. But I wouldn't know. My system automatically goes to google/ig and I'm running Jackie Chan Artwork.
Hey, good buddy, you're not fighting fair. Charles, I bet you have DOZENS of such sites all laid out and ready to spring on KOS as soon as they clean the last one you exposed out.
Patriots,
Sorry for my first post to be ot but i can't help it. As i get sucked into this memorial day picnic/indy/party My warrior part revolts. I am looking to this community to reassure me that my friends and brothers are remembered on memorial day. I want people to have a good time and I know that my fallen brethren would want that too. I just hope you can take a moment,...a second even. a silent prayer, a toast. I have known and forgotten Marines who i didn't deserve to know let alone remember.
For what it's worth, I liked their Mother's Day one- ducklings in a pong with one of them presenting a flower to the mama duck...but that might've been because it came not too far after a real-life encounter with a mama duck and some ducklings trying to cross a busy road.

Went to google on my pda. Still just the plain logo. Of course they are trying to be so "international" maybe they're afraid of offending all of their [bigoted word] users.
We don't need EVERY COMMENT to dwell on that in order to respectfully meet this day... and many of us here know Memorial Day ALL YEAR LONG, treating America AND American troops with the respect deserved, Modgi...
There's no (American) Memorial Day in Thailand, so I emailed my (vet) buddy in America, and we made a deal: I'll say the prayers, and he'll put flowers on veterans' graves in Atlanta, AND burn a burger and down a chilled one for me, for us and for America!

Didn't use to drink. Now maybe 3 a year. Didn't use to smoke, now can't get enough of cigars. And just bought a hookah today for the absolutely delicious shisha that they use. Also thinking of ordering some tobacco free shisha and seeing if that tastes as good.
I never imbibed much, just made me sleepy. Tried a pipe infrequently for awhile. Barely learned to load it properly. All that stopped after I'd accumulated enough Cardiologists to kick my ass good if I ever did those bad things again.

I've cut sharply my rum intake in the last few years.
And I feel good drinking less.
As for smoking...
I smoke more than two packs a day...
Thank You,
I am not as eloquent as the common lizard. it takes a subject like this to make me comment. I will however take this opportunity to say this is one of the first blogs i read every day. Relevant content, cognitive insight. If only people like us ran the world,....then again,...

That's what I love, no tar, little nic, relaxation, and some of the most amazing flavors I have ever smoked. There's like 50 different flavors here in town and I can order an unbelievable number of others online.

Tobacco was a plot by Aboriginal Americans to kill off the European invaders. Didn't work fast enough until Corporate America took the idea and ran with it.
For cigars I reccomend looking at Acid from Drew Estate. Java (also Drew) and Helix Remix Cafe Royale.
For straight cigar smoking with no flavors or aromatics I reccomend La Flor Dominica Double Ligero Chisel (or chiselito), Cohiba Black (dominican), and Alec Bradley Maxx
On a random Memorial Day note, my great-grandparents were Filipino Revolutionaries. I'm a bit hazy on their Philippine-American history, but they were known to command legions against the Spaniards. (:

Miguel, please, please, make your self cut back, if not quit altogether.
I now have 6 months of non-smoking (after more than 50 years of 1+ packs a day) — not because I'm a goody-two-shoes, but because I've been diagnosed with emphysema! There are lots of tricks for making yourself cut back. If you're interested, click my nic, I will share them with you.

Ok, when i hear about Americans deciding to "black out" to discern the situation, I take the safety off. I am profoundly concerned when all this "change" talk gets bantered about. I love America and really don't wan't Her to change. I want to act. Where do We start?

You already have. Do some research, go back a few days on here and gather the multi part reports on the Obamessiah. Tell everyone you know. Let people know, this man is not what he claims to be. Tell them the truth, the media won't bother to. This guy has been planted and groomed to be the first hardcore socialist/communist president. That is more dangerous than almost anything else I can imagine.
When the police chase someone into the neighborhood, we're just turning off the lights to see outside easier, and to not illuminate ourselves in the window.
The only folks that want change are the ones who aren't happy with what they're getting from the government now, or the leftists trying to show they "care".
Lee, fight it bro we need you.
the rest of you, doesn't that sound a little too much like Guy Montag in Farenheight 451? And wouldn't that be more efficient with rfid technology?

Ummm, it's just not suitable for littleoldlady eyes. Got a little nasty up there. Started with Kilgore dissing LeePro badly. Comment now sits at -12, and unknown number of reportings.
BUT! The thread recovered, and since then, we've been discussing Memorial Day and how Google still won't recognize it but Ask.com and Dogpile will, some have posted tribute videos in honor of the fallen, and others discussed cigars. :)
They weren't arguing about that, really... but I believe it stemmed from that thread, yes. Killgore brought out a "stalkpuppet", insinuating that DesertSage was stalking him or something. It really got strange.
Me? I've finished 'official' work for today, and I'm knee-deep in visiting Thais, son resting warmly in blankets on the floor, and for the last 90 minutes, listening to all those Memorial Day videos posted above...
And respectful of the tears that wash my face and heart, grateful for every day of life, IN America, in my heart and my sons and in the friendship I share with Thais, Koreans and OTHER non-American Americans... :D
We have a healing power in us, our birthright, no matter HOW MANY scientists try to explain it away.... That LIFE FORCE is prophetic, anticipatory and heals where glue can't go...
IF we can remove the obstacles between us and HEALING, and support the human life-energy (with water & nutrition) LONG ENOUGH to beat the intruders and HEAL!
Yessir, LaZardo, this IS intelligent, whether by design or by chance...
Thank You Lizards for your patience and grace while i spouted my opinions in an overly verbose way. In the future i will try to be more concise and topical. In My defense I must add that Memorial day means a lot to me. God rest Ross McGinnis. Lord Lay your hand on Him and His. Warrior, Patriot, America's Son. Hero.
I fell asleep early last night. When I woke up this morning, I still had the KOS page up. I've been reading some of the comments... here's one directed at us from a little Progressive prick named ASININE.
LGF having fun with this one (0+ / 0-)
Not that anyone particularly cares, but LGF is posting this up as yet another incident of DKos troop hating. We all know it's not, and many of us tend to get upset at the thought of American soldiers dying in a war seemingly fought for the personal fortunes of the oil and war industry, not for any greater good.
Still, the gruesome section about being happy for sacrifice with shrapnel in one's intestines is perhaps a bit much. I would suggest more tact, less over-the-top detail which doesn't really communicate the message.
Of course, I see it both ways, people who take LGF and the like seriously are probably beyond redemption and our only hope is to marginalize the crazies and play this as a generational war, fighting for the minds of the children.
Yeah - thats my sweet, beloved Big Dog, who died trhee months ago - I miss him!
I'm only 'honorary' Welsh, not born and bred: married a Welshman nearly thirty years ago and ended up here: it was like finally finding the place where I was emant to be!
Well - even the mongreliest mongrel will find a home eventually!

I'm always amazed that people caan't grasp the fact that 'the children' won't have the future they envisage for them if there's nobody there to fight for their freedom.
Do they ever wonder what Europe and the World would have looked like if nobody had stood up and fought against Hitler-Germany and Hirohito's Japan?
Where would their children be now?

Either the Hitler Youth or...the slightly more macabre Japanese equivalent...
Husbands biological parents were divorced when he was very young, father remarried my favorite mother-in-law who actually raised talloldman and his many sibs. She died about 15 years ago. :-( He quickly remarried m-i-l #3. Then f-i-l died about 3 years ago.
We have very little contact with m-i-l #3. Biological m-i-l I avoid whenever possible.
Here's another comment by MUGGLE from the deleted KOS diary. I like this one.
I will vote, and for a democrat, just not Saint O, and just because I'm not caught up in his fucking Hype, and slavishly devote my life to electing his lying ass, well, you get the picture
My wife is Lebanese, We will probably never visit what once was a beautiful destination. I joined the USMC the day after a truck bomb altered the housing market in S Carolina. That was Iran, this is Iran. Iran is our enemy. That is all.

While trying to escape through Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden found a bottle on the sand and picked it up.
Suddenly, a female genie rose from the bottle and with a smile said,
"Master, may I grant you one wish?"
Osama responded, "You ignorant, unworthy daughter-of-a-dog! Don't you know who I am? I don't need any common woman giving me anything."
The shocked genie said, "Please, I must grant you a wish or I will be
returned to that bottle forever."
Osama thought a moment, then grumbled about the impertinence of the woman and said, "Very well, I want to awaken with three American women in my bed in the morning. So just do it and be off with you.
" The annoyed genie said, "So be it!" and disappeared.
The next morning Bin Laden woke up in bed with Lorena Bobbitt, Tonya Harding, and Hillary Clinton at his side.
His penis was gone, his knees were broken, and he had no health
insurance.

Barack Obama says he is the best friend Israel could ever have..?
Barack Obama says he is the best friend Israel could ever have..?
Well, given his throwing grandma and preacher under the bus, it seems clear that Obamamama has a peculiar (and self-serving) understanding of "friendship."
To ease his boredom during his long exile in the Netherlands following World War I, former Kaiser Wilhelm II dabbled in gardening and mysticism, in 1934 publishing a book on Eastern religious symbology in which he pointedly noted that the version of the swastika used by Hitler and his Nazis stood for darkness, misfortune, and death.
Of course after losing the First World War the Germans may not have been willing to listen to Kaiser Willie.
My grandfather was named for the Kaiser -- his father had been an ardent Socialist in Germany during the Bismarck era and was one of those who thought that Willi would set things right. The dismissal of Bismarck seemed a good sign, but he became disillusioned as war approached. After WWI started, he anglicized his kids names (they were living in Chicago at the time) and refused to teach them German or speak it himself.
Completely OT: Wow, just, wow. Commentary here today has been strange, and at times absurd. Since I am at a loss for adequate words, I will simply provide two quotes:

"Dude, this is pretty fucked up right here!" - also Stan Marsh

Neither Clinton -- nor Obama or his spokesmen -- mentioned the concern about his safety, particularly among African Americans, that the reference to Robert Kennedy touched on. In a Washington Post-ABC News poll taken in March, nearly six in 10 Americans said they were worried that someone might try to harm Obama (Ill.) if he were the nominee -- more than double the percentage who said they were worried about the same for Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the presumptive Republican nominee.
Among African Americans, the concern was even greater: More than eight in 10 said they would be worried about Obama's safety, including 55 percent who said they would be "very concerned" (20 percent of whites said they would have that level of fear).
I was going to vote for Obama,
but now I am worried about his safety.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain should consider giving individuals a personal carbon emissions allowance in order to help the country meet its CO2 emissions target, a report by a committee of MPs said on Monday.
Parliament's Environmental Audit Committee said the government had to reduce carbon emissions from individuals and households, as well as businesses and industry, if it was to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 60 percent by 2050 as planned.
Introducing a personal carbon allowance -- whereby people would have to trade in credits if they wanted to exceed their own CO2 quota -- would be more effective and fairer than bringing in "green" taxes, the report by MPs said.
Personally, I think a plain old carbon tax would be better and much, much easier to implement, if one wants to reduce carbon emissions.
Dude. All that carbon originated in the Terrestrial atmosphere.
One thing that the folks with the carbon bug won't mention is that the quantity of carbon in the atmosphere has been decreasing over geological time and that someday in the distant future there won't be enough carbon in the air to support plant life on this planet.
So everyone who drives their SUV to grandma's house for the weekend is actually working to extend the useful lifetime of the Terrestrial biosphere.

Sorry for the slow response, a lot going on this morning. We changed plans last night, and trying to drag my son out of his tent and get him ready. Don't even ask. My uncle was killed in Korea, my father calls last night asking if we'll ride up with him to his gravesite with him. Of course, I said I'd be honored to, and I'm driving. This is 10:30. Gotta get out of here by 9:30, it's a 1&1/2 hr drive.
I just find it disgusting that Google would celebrate dark hour with a blacked out page and can't find the slightest bit of patriotism to even post a Memorial Day page honoring those who protect their right to do so. Silence is so telling sometimes.
Militants in the Niger Delta say they killed 11 soldiers during an attack on a pipeline in Nigeria's oil-rich area.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (Mend) said in an email to journalists that it had carried out the attack in Rivers State.

"Today's attack is dedicated to the administration of Umaru Yar'Adua and [Vice-President] Goodluck Jonathan who have failed after one year in office to ensure peace, security and reconciliation in the Niger Delta region," the email said.

Memorial Day is to remember the fallen. Veterans are honored in November (Love you guys and girls--thank you so much for all you do). I don't want any politics or opinions to distract from honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

I don't know whether you saw my question the other night, but I didn't see a reply.
May I add you to the prayer list? I was most chagrined when I realized you weren't already listed. Of course, if you prefer not to be, I will respect and honor that choice.

Oh, I know, they live in California, aka part of the US. But I also know one of the founders of Google (not well, just someone I worked with for a while), and even if every person in the US mailed them a letter it wouldn't change their minds. Now, if every *business* that worked with them said they would no longer use Google, that would catch their attention. So what would be a better use of our time and energy is to get every business to stop using Google. But that will be hard to do, given Google's preeminence in the field. And today I have to focus on the son and getting him ready for the day, once he wakes up.
I am doing very well now (hopefully for a very long time to come!).
Thanks.
That's good to hear (didn't even know you were sick!). Do you have good plans for today? (Sorry, I'm being a bum and not reading up thread, even though the posting is slow enough I could.)
Good morning, good people on what looks to be a stellar day for a parade. Been asked if I'd march in our town's parade, not sure what the drill is, but it should be fun.
Okay, apparently the lack of sleep is playing with my mind. Am I the only one who sees a close similarity between Tony Rezko and Dr. Phil? What could it mean?
I cannot get into old war movies at all. My husband does; he has watched every war movie ever made multiple times. I just can't do it. Not sure why.
I think that part of it is the black and white. Also, I like more of a plot than people shooting/getting shot. War sucks but, it beats living under tyranny.

You may be right. I'm not a big fan of black and white films, having grown up with color TVs, color movies, etc.
And tyranny is far worse than war. Alas, the only way to prove that to some people is to live under it.
Huh. I somehow got logged out while I was over at Google which, as usual, has nothing on it's page to indicate that today is Memorial Day.
Indeed when I searched for Memorial Day ON Google, the FIRST RESULT WAS "
The Southern Ledger Memorial Day 1968 - 5 hours ago It would be the final Memorial Day piece by the board until after America's withdrawal from the war in Vietnam, which now stands as the only American ..."
I didn't have to go to the link to know that "military defeat" would follow the word "American" - good for you Google, you lousy Mofo's.
I don't post about it much unless it might help someone else.
It was August 31, 2004 (lung cancer, lobectomy, Stage 2B). Did radiation (opted out of any chemo...hope it was a wise decision).
How are YOU doing?
GOOD MORNING {REALWEST}!
It is a gorgeous day here in West Central Florida! Mr. GBy and I had our 'In-Loving-Memory-Discussion of what this day mean to us' and now we're just watching old war movies.
Okay, apparently the lack of sleep is playing with my mind. Am I the only one who sees a close similarity between Tony Rezko and Dr. Phil? What could it mean?
I have no idea what it means but, they are eerily similar.
The two John Wayne movies I like are The Quiet One and True Grit.
LOL
The Quiet Man is my absolute favorite. We have it on DVD and watch it every St. Patrick's Day. I know most of the lines by heart. Movies like that just seem to warm the cockles of my heart.

Wow. Cool that you're doing so well!
I'm actually in a kind of limbo right now. I've not been feeling well for the last month; went to the doctor and they took a bunch of blood for tests. Well, the nurse called me Friday, but only left a message. So I have to wait until tomorrow to call back and see if they found anything. I'm hoping they did, as I am tired of being sick and tired! ("And tired always follows sick... .") Something is wrong. I just don't know what. But I do know I'm tired of it.

1. an edible bivalve shellfish
2. its shell
3. warm the cockles of one's heart to make one feel happy [Greek konkhule mussel]
re: #641 gettinby Good morning to you and to your hubby, {gettinby}!
I don't watch old war movies, although I used to love 'em until I served. Course my Dad loved watching 'em with me when I was MUCH younger and I never knew why he would giggle at so many places until I served myself! LOL!
Gee, if it's a lovely day there, I sure hope y'all don't plan on sitting around watching old war movies all day!
Good morning. I just checked the link on that movie. The release date was 1943 (staring a very young Anthony Quinn). The Battle of Guadalcanal, was fought between August 7, 1942, and February 7, 1943. Amazing! The battle ends in February, and before the end of the year, Hollywood has a movie out showing the incredible heroics & sacrifice of the US Marines.
Dya think Hollywood could maybe come out with a positive movie about Iraq? Just one in 5 years would be nice...
Do you know the origin of the saying "cockles of my heart"?
Here's one theory; while you read this, I'm going to check a book I have upstairs:
It’s one of the more lovely idioms in the language, isn’t it? Something that warms the cockles of one’s heart induces a glow of pleasure, sympathy, affection, or some such similar emotion. What gets warmed is the innermost part of one’s being. It’s not that surprising that it should be associated with the heart, that being the presumed seat of the emotions for most people. But what are the cockles?
We’re not sure. We do know that the expression turns up first in the middle of the seventeenth century, and that the earliest form of the idiom was rejoice the cockles of one’s heart.
Cockles are a type of bivalve mollusc, once a staple part of the diet for many British people (you may recall that Sweet Molly Malone once wheeled her wheelbarrow through Dublin’s fair city, crying “cockles and mussels, alive, alive oh!”). They are frequently heart-shaped (their formal zoological genus was at one time Cardium, of the heart), with ribbed shells.
It may be that the shape and spiral ribbing of the ventricles of the heart reminded surgeons of the two valves of the cockle. But I can’t find an example of the word cockle being applied to the heart outside this expression, which makes me suspicious of this explanation. It may be that the shape of the cockleshell, suggesting the heart as it so obviously does, gave rise to cockles of the heart as an expansion.
After this piece appeared in the Newsletter, James Woodfield pointed out that there is another possible explanation. In medieval Latin, the ventricles of the heart were at times called cochleae cordis, where the second word is an inflected form of cor, heart. Those unversed in Latin could have misinterpreted cochleae as cockles, or it might have started out as a university in-joke. Oddly, cochlea in Latin is the word for a snail (from the shape of the ventricles — it’s also the name given to the spiral cavity of the inner ear), so if this story is right we should really be speaking of warming the snails of one’s heart.

re: #652 vxbushAh crap, {vxbush} - I sure hope the blood test shows you're anemic or something which is fairly easily treatable.
I've noticed over the last six weeks or so that you've been saying how tired and "blah" you've been feeling, but that doesn't mean it's anything as serious as cancer or whatever; maybe you just need a shot of B-12!
In any event, please keep us informed when you find out anything from your doctor, ok?
He y'all - is LGF acting a little weird for anyone else? Once angain I type, nothing show ups unitll I stop typing and then - voila - it shows up on my screen as if by magic!
I'll agree with you on this one. I TRIED to chase the big one, I started out at Waterloo airport and just fell in behind the monster. I only got to stay behind it for about 10 minutes before I started running into massive debris fields and lines down on Dunkerton road.
There were live lines down on the highway so I called BH county dispatch and let them know I was an off duty officer blocking traffic. A deputy showed up off duty in his car a little later and me and him started a 'rescue' mission, where we basically made it 4 miles in 3 hours attempting to get to every house we could checking for survivors and/or trapped people. I saw some very very nasty things today that I've never seen before.
[...] I was wearing my badge to ID myself and I kept getting dirty crying people coming up to me asking me to help them contact utilities and find their horses. As much as I am trained to help it was very hard telling people that unless a person was lost or hurt I had to move on and that it could be days if not weeks before utilities even came close to their areas.
Ah crap, {vxbush} - I sure hope the blood test shows you're anemic or something which is fairly easily treatable.

Will do. I doubt it's cancer; that wouldn't make any sense, frankly. I have a hypothesis, but until the blood tests come back it's futile to speculate. I've had B-12 shots in the past. They didn't do much for me. Sitting out in the sunlight does more good!
But yes, once I get the results back, I'll let folks know. Watch, I'll call the nurse and she'll say, "All the results came back fine. We're just checking to see if you feel any better."

Wasn't Bruce Willis going to do one about Deuce Four?
I have no idea at what stage the movie is "in production". That could mean anything from still writing the script, to shooting, to adding special effects, to editing, to sitting on the shelf waiting to be released. Hollywood is a strange place.
The original book records the heroics & bravery of the US Marines, & the vicious evil of the Al Qaeda terrorists. But it also blames the Bush admin and the Pentagon for political interference and bungling (justly so, too!). My guess is Hollywood got interested in the project because it was seen as "anti-Bush", but they're still trying to edit out anything that might inadvertently make the US Marines look good and the enemy look bad. Can't have that.
It's been a long, long time since I heard that song, and I don't think I've ever seen the video. I don't know if it's anti-American or satire or whatever. All I know is that I'm laughing myself silly. Thank you for posting it.

My Lizard-in-Training also has a shirt with the bulldog on the front, without the cigar. He wore it to school before I realized that the back of the shirt had the rear view of the dog that is, shall we say, anatomically correct.

Yup, aint that the truth.... And undoubtedly that is what scares the panties off the moonbat useful idiots. Take one young easily manipulated kid, send him through Marine Corps boot camp and end up with a strong minded almost impossible to manipulate young man. The leftist/marxist/socialist/democrats worst fear come to life...
The Willis film, Duece Four, is about the battle against the insurgents in Mosul, which was covered so brilliantly by Michael Yon. I'm guessing Willis will play LTC Kurilla. I can't wait to see it. Maybe it will be released in 2028.

Yesterday, Obama pinch hit for Kennedy as the Commencment speaker at Welsley College. Kennedy has a graduating daughter.
Barry went well beyond congratulating the graduates and advising them about their carrer paths.
The all knowing Obama smoothly segued into an anti Iraq War lecture
I have no idea at what stage the movie is "in production".
In my business I've had the opportunity to mix with TV and movie people from time to time. From what they've all told me, in this context "in production" usually means the film has been finished but for reason someone "upstairs" doesn't like the finished product and will not release it until more (uneeded) edits are made. Sometimes they get made, sometimes the screenwriter and/ or director will hold fast. At that point, it's 50/50 weather it gets released.

Good morning from sunny Nordeast. Cool and a tiny breeze, with sunlight and shadows playing so delightfully. The tornado and golf-size hail which did so much damage a little way away last night, barely skimmed the outer edge of my neighborhood!
Well I've posted this before, but if any of y'all would like to have a waiving Old Glory (about 3/4" by 3/4" on your desktop - anywhere you want it, as bright or dim as you want it, still or waiving) FOR FREE, just go to
[Link: www.deskflag.com...] it uninstalls really easily too, if you don't like it or don't want to keep it once Charles arises and puts up his tribute logo for the day!
That's probably a problem with Haloscan and beyond my control. They are better than Blogger's own commenting tools, since they do trackbacks and comment management, but Haloscan has an annoying tendency to crap out occasionally.
re: #719 lawhawk Hmm.
Well BZ's blog uses HaloScan for comments, too so you may be very correct in that it's a problem with HaloScan.
Anyway, how are you this fine morning? How's the weather in my Home Town?!

I posted a quick note letting her know that you were impressed with her posting.
re: #724 Ma SandsHi {Ma} I WAS careful - ran it through spell check and everything (did so cause I thought "waving" was correct, but decided last minute to stick in the "i" then ran spell check and voilla - it's ok!). RATS!
After all these years they still can't think of anything "light-hearted" or "mirthful" (their own pathetic excuse) to represent Memorial Day. I sure think I see some logos that really aren’t particularly whimsical here. The other search engines managed to get something up.
Oh well, that’s why I don’t use ‘em, and will never click a google ad – even with a knife at my throat.
Isn't it amazing how well our scientists can predict weather and track storms? Now, if we could just find a way to eradicate tornadoes. However, they serve some sort of function in reducing atmospheric whatevers.
re: #742 irongrampa Hey there irongrampa - even if they don't fit, just wear a nice jacket and tie and trousers and go ahead and march anyway! You'd perhaps be surprised at how many of us no longer fit into our old uniforms.
What's worse is I actually went and bought a new uniform about 8 years ago and...........it doesn't fit now, either! LOL!
Accept the honor and march with pride, sir!
Draw a triangle with the vertices being Dodge City KS, Tulsa OK, and Hastings NE. Anywhere in that area this time of year seems to be ground zero for tornadoes. It's just a wild place... must be of sturdy stock to put up with that kind of weather.

Under the Obama Administration, Tornadoes will be negotiated with and there will be no preconditions.
No doubt tornadoes will become pacified and join the New World Order
re: #753 doriangrey LOL! Well, as I recall, after you've hefted enough of those beer cans, they can get awfully heavy!
Just make sure to park yourself near a bathroom or a convenient tree (YEAH, that's right you Greenie Maroons, I said TREE!)!

I doubt I could live there. It's not that I'm not sturdy. It's that I'm chickenshit about getting sucked out of a closet and flung 200 feet.

From what I can gather, about 12 hours before the event the SPC can do pretty well in targeting areas that are in danger... satellite observations, realtime ground-station reports do wonders in being able to pin down the boundaries between air masses, as well as figuring out where the mid level jets are.
Notice how well the various storm chasers have gotten in picking up where tornadoes are developing? With realtime data they have gotten to be quite good.
I remember when I was young... it was rare to get a good tornado photo because it was mostly a function of being in the right (wrong?) place at the right time.
The planned tie-up between Britain's Unite and United Steelworkers (USW) in the United States is designed to better protect workers against the effects of globalisation, the Sunday Telegraph said.
SNIP
The two unions view the merger as the first step towards a global union that could take in labour movements from the world's emerging markets in eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia, the report added.
The plans also reflect recognition among union officials in Britain and the United States that as a cross-border body they would be stronger in negotiations with multi-national companies, the Sunday Telegraph said.

My cousin Ann in West Tennessee told me that meterologists are now able to tell which streets are in the path of tornadoes.

Heh heh heh, yup I plan on pissing on quite a few Greenie Maroons trees today. Going to my brothers house out in the boonies.

No apologies necessary - but I went to #612 to upding gettinby and saw your #611 about Ask.com and updinged that one, too - and thank you for that one too.

The Marriott Hotel in Cairo was the first to announce that "we cannot accommodate the Israeli and Jewish delegation, and we are cancelling the reservations."

Why should we bring in Jews born in Egypt who preferred to flee to Israel, which has fought us in blood-soaked wars," the broadcaster asked, accusing the Israeli Embassy in Cairo and the Israeli Academic Center of "sponsoring a conspiracy against Egypt."

GOOGLE YOU SUCK - Amen to that one - just checked out their list of "holiday" headers and I discovered that not only do they not have one for Memorial Day, but they don't have one for the Fourth of July nor Veterans Day.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip: Palestinian officials say around 200,000 people in northern Gaza don't have running water or power.
Electric company spokesman Jamal Darasawi says there hasn't been any power since Palestinian militants from Islamic Jihad detonated a truck bomb at a nearby border crossing last Thursday.
The explosion cut two of the seven major power lines that come in from Israel. The Israeli army says it's trying to fix the lines, but it will take time because of security considerations.
Israel already restricts fuel supplies to Gaza to pressure Palestinian militants to stop their attacks. That has meant northern residents can't use electric generators or pump water from wells.
On Monday, an Islamic Jihad spokesman said the group didn't mean to cut off power but warned of more attacks.

You're not referring, I hope, to Killgore Trout Stinks, are you?

Can't put anything like democracy or Freedom of Speech past those brainiacs at Google.

I'm doing great, going to spend the day with family remembering and giving thanks to those great men and women whose sacrifices have made this wonderful republic what it is. Also BBQ'ing and drinking beer and hoping to maybe see a moonbats head explode at the amount of fun and respect I show our veterans today.
Google doesn't make any money off you using their service, only off sponsored links, which I never click.
Really?...
Good to know. Thanks.
I've been under the impression that they gain larger dollars from ad clients because they have large numbers of "users." I didn't want to help in this regard by being a regular "user."
/will never under how this web-internet-stuff works.
Geepers, don't they make money though by selling searchable words, based on the number of people that use Google? Also, I thought they sell information about searches to external companies.
re: #812 ploome hineni Well y'all could try Ask.com (h/t Mandy Manners).
They've got a good logo, as does Dogpile - but someone posted above that Dogpile uses Google for it's main search functions. Try Ask.com - they have a good logo up today too.
How does Kos, the major Democrat/liberal blog, not feel shame and embarrassment about the fact that they have to delete diaries at the rate of one per week?
Wait, that might have been a rhetorical question...
Wow--uniform STILL fits pretty much okay-now this parade will be even more of a tribute.
Please have a great Memorial Day, lizards, and God Bless our country and her military!
re: #815 Kenneth Good morning my friend! Great photo, but I didn't see a date on it; would you happen to know when it was taken (all I could see was "Camp Dodge" and the C/O's name, but no date)?

What a surprise! A Democrat from Massachusetts! Go figure!
One of the documents shows that US Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.) (pictured), a leading opponent of the Colombia free-trade deal has been working with a go-between, who has been offering the FARC terrorists help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government.
Colombia is America's closest ally in South America.
But, for some odd reason, this news that an American Congressman was reportedly communicating with FARC and working against America's ally Colombia has yet to be reported by the major media with the exception of the Wall Street Journal.
GOOGLE YOU SUCK - Amen to that one - just checked out their list of "holiday" headers and I discovered that not only do they not have one for Memorial Day, but they don't have one for the Fourth of July nor Veterans Day.
The last one they did for the Independence day was weird dancing cats or something.
It’s interesting to go back to early ones (they actually used stars and stripes more than once), before liberal derangement set in.
Yahoo has a Memorial Day logo, as does Ask.com
[Link: www.ask.com...]
Good Morning to my fellow Lizards, and a special Memorial Day thanks to all the Lizards here who have served, or are serving this great country of ours.
Didya notice that the Obama Loving, Hillary Haters (otherwise known as the KOS kids) don't have one post on the front page in tribute to Memorial Day? While the Google decision is made, I'm assuming, by a handful of execs, KOS has 1000s of contributors and yet, not a peep.
A big thank you to our Veterans and their families (including my own) for their selfless sacrifice to secure our freedoms and protect our interests. And if KOS can't bring themselves to say it, at least we will.
This has probably already been mentioned, but another Memorial Day, another slap in the face to all veterans from Google. No flag for this special day, nothing. Here's a list of the days thus far in 2008 Google believed deserved a special logo. Apparently the 50th anniversary of Lego building blocks and Persian New Year are more important than a day honoring all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to enable the folks at Google to enjoy their way of living. It sickens and saddens me, but alas, it is not unexpected.

I'm also not an expert but doesn't the amount of generic hits a web page receives contribute to how much a potential advertiser will pay for the service even if the user does not click the advertiser's link?
Not too many call me good-looking, so thanks! The bride does cause she likes to humor me though. Time to go outside and work on the flower beds before we go to a picnic this afternoon. Flat out, drop dead gorgeous weekend up here, 70 saturday, 75 yesterday, 80 today without a cloud in the sky.
Sounds like Mr Gettinby's life, just keeps getting better.
Middle daughter home from Pittsburg(h) she got a 3.92 gpa in her honors Forensic major. The old man's just a little bit proud of that girl.
re: #837 Kenneth Ah, thank you Kenneth - nice logo for Gateway Pundit today (although, since it was taken in 1918 it would seem doubtful that those men saw any action, but the main thing is that they did indeed serve their nation.
A military strike three weeks ago killed Raúl Reyes, No. 2 in command of the FARC, Colombia's most notorious terrorist group. The Reyes hard drive reveals an ardent effort to do business directly with the FARC by Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.), a leading opponent of the free-trade deal. Mr. McGovern has been working with an American go-between, who has been offering the rebels help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government.

At a graduation party last night a cousin & I were discussing the Obama Wing of the family.
He wondered how could thes smart people be so hood winked & in denial.
I find it really odd , that just a couple of years ago each one would have opend a vein for Hillary. Now the actually hate her.

Some people just cant resist the lure of evil, so no wonder they hate Hillary and love the Obamanation otherwise known as the Anti-Christ....
re: #846 uncle_monkey
HEY! Thank you for that - too damn bad Google didn't bother to look at any of 'em.
Even "just" the red, white and blue on the word "Google" would have been nice.
Uh, which one's yours?!

Stroszek's post Won't vote for Obama? Then it's time to enlist is a KOSsling homage to Memorial Day, but they had to pull it because it too nakedly exposed the self-centered empty bitterness of their narcissistic nihilism.
re: #858 ploome hineni
Hi ploome! Not gonna bother - saw their list of holidays for which they change their logo, and Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day were not on their list.
Says it all for me.

Well that's just the worst of it for me. No one knew his name prior to, what? Last Christmas? One irony is that they have been using all the Republican talking points against Hillary. So as much as they despise the Repubs, they agree with their vitriol against her? What a bunch of hypocrites.
Let us not forget that Clinton was always considered the first Black president for all the support he gave their community and they threw him under the bus as well.
To be fair, the 2008 list just has the logos they've used up to this point in the year. Looking back over previous years, they did have July 4th logos.

Would you please post the link to the comments that you found last night?

Oh yes, of course! Now there's a lovely homage to our brave fighting men and women!
Remember to take a moment today and silently thank all the servicemen and women who sacrificed so honorably for the rest of us to have the freedom which we cherish so deeply.
re: #878 schlagerman Well ok, to be fair, why no Memorial Day to honor the troops who have given their lives for this nation or Veteran's Day to honor all the troops who have served/are serving this nation? I mean, just to be fair about it.
HEY! Thank you for that - too damn bad Google didn't bother to look at any of 'em.

It's a secret!
I used my real name for some reason.
re: #883 DesertSage Good morning Sage! And as a fellow vet, I wish you a Good Memorial Day, too! (I'm sorry, but I just have a hard time saying "Happy" Memorial Day, given the reason for the Day).
And backed the bus up and ran over him again, just for good measure!
It's REALLY getting difficult to remain a Democrat these days. I told Ornery Elephant last night I may be voting for McCain. I think he had a coronary ;)
Yeah, but these same people were so in the tank for Hillary not that long ago.
They have not just abanoned her, they hate her.
But see, that was when Hillary's evil was the most powerful evil in the land, when the Anti-Christ showed himself as the ultimate evil they were drawn to him like a moth to a flame, and of course in true evil tradition they are now required to hate anyone who resists or competes with the evil of the Anti-Christ.
good morning everyone,
happy "decoration day."
i have a nice cross breeze going now. and the beautiful fragrance from the lilacs is coming in the kitchen window.
i'm cooking the childhood memory menu for this day. tater salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, hot dogs and nanner puddin'. that's it.
and i'm going to observe the minute of prayer at 3 o'clock that pres. bush has suggested, to honor our fallen heros.
i love memorial day. taking peonies down to the graveyard w/dad. we'd put them on veteran's graves until we ran out of flowers.
I'm in agreement with you. I think it's deplorable that Google doesn't have a logo for Memorial Day or Veteran's Day. I was just pointing out that they did have logos for July 4th in previous years. I guess even they can't ignore the birthday for our nation.

Do not toy with my emotions like this you... you democrat............. ((marjoriemoon))
Happy Memorial day to the vets! Especially those we are memorializing.
A little OT but at 800 posts I hope I am forgiven. The US and Afghanistan has completed the demining programing. These are the 300,000 plus land mines left over from the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Just want to point out that program was entirely financed by the US. No help from the old Soviets who laid them, (Russia) or our oil buddies, (Saudi Arabia). When the Democrats challenge what America has done for the world lately, remind them of this.....Demining completed
Very touching and I can smell the lilacs from here-they are just outside my window, here in Toronto...white, purple. What a beautiful thing your Dad did with you. I hope you never run out of flowers.
re: #893 marjoriemoon
Well if you don't vote for McCain you're surely gonna get Obama (unless the Clinton machine starts to live up to it's reputation). More importantly, though, is to vote for McCain and the congressional/Senate Repub's too, otherwise we wind up with a President Obama and a totally Dem controlled Congress.
Excuse me, I gotta go throw up for even thinking about that.
I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.
I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Good morning Sage! And as a fellow vet, I wish you a Good Memorial Day, too! (I'm sorry, but I just have a hard time saying "Happy" Memorial Day, given the reason for the Day).
Hi RW. I understand what you mean, it does sound a little funny....I thought about that. But then, the brave people who we honor on this day would want us to be happy, wouldn't they?
I'm in agreement with you. I think it's deplorable that Google doesn't have a logo for Memorial Day or Veteran's Day. I was just pointing out that they did have logos for July 4th in previous years. I guess even they can't ignore the birthday for our nation.
I sent them an e-mail asking them why they celebrate piddling days like the Persian New Year, but no Memorial Day. I pointed out that their competitors were celebrating MemDay, and asked them why they were not joining in.
It's REALLY getting difficult to remain a Democrat these days. I told Ornery Elephant last night I may be voting for McCain. I think he had a coronary ;)
A political party is not a spouse, it sis not a religion and it is not an ethnicity.
You can leave it when it no longer serves your purpose.
You can't let a political party hold you hostage with your membership.
Remember to take a moment today and silently thank all the servicemen and women who sacrificed so honorably for the rest of us to have the freedom which we cherish so deeply.
Good morning DesertSage, please allow me to personally think you for your service to this great republic.

Lincoln lost one of his beloved children at five years old to disease. He undertood perfectly the pain the mother had suffered...
i couldn't agree more. i had to make one after 9-11.
i cut up a sheet and used fabric paint. i felt like betsy ross. i still have that 'flag'.
The only flag we could lay our hands on at that time was a 13 colonies version. I made a pdf file and uploaded it to my server for people to use and print. I'm dangerous with scissors!
