I would wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.

I do not think that the average American really has an understanding of just how many enemy have been killed (all over the world, not just OIF/OEF), how much logistical and financial disruption has occurred of terrorist networks, and how much damage has been done to the hopeful and current jihadists' morale.

My uncle (a real one, not like Obama's uncle) helped build Oak Ridge as a carpenter. He now has asbestosis and is in his early 80's. But his skills helped build Y12 and the surrounding communities.

I tip my hat to that good young man out of east Tennessee who went and dedicated his service to building the structures that helped end WWII - when his oldest brother was in the hands of the Germans in a POW camp, and his second oldest brother couldn't serve because of a heart defect.
