Daily Kos: McCain Cheek Cancer Returns

Tue, May 27, 2008 at 5:21:35 pm PDT

Stay classy, Kos Kids: Daily Kos: [Breaking]: McCain cheek cancer returns.

Commenters are all appalled, of course. But somehow these hateful diaries just keep appearing, day after day, year after year.

So this is why CNN announced 3 days ago that the cancer was fine. Squamous.

4 JohnnyReb  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:24:16pm

Are comments still open for this?

Of course, this is also the summer of gaffes. Obama's gaffe's that is. We know that in the whole Auschwitz story there were at least 3:

1) it was his great uncle, not uncle.
2) it wasn't Auschwitz, but Ohrdruf subcamp of Buchenwald.
3) Obama doesn't know where Auschwitz is and that it was behind the Red Curtain.

And that's from a family anecdote. If he couldn't keep that story straight (and none of his folks bothered to check/correct him on that), what else isn't squared away?

Heck, for that matter, how about reexamining that memoir of his to see what else in there isn't quite on the level.

Those folks have no problem wishing cancer on someone; screwing American contractors; and wishing the worst on our troops.

Welcome to the Democrat party base 2008 folks. These are the people that Obama and his gang are trying to curry favor with. These are the people that Dean and Clinton and all the rest of the Democrats want support and funds from to continue their campaigns. These are the people with whom tv newshacks share time and space with.

I posted a diary in response (1+ / 0-)

[Link: www.dailykos.com...]

by GlowNZ on Tue May 27, 2008 at 04:16:35 PM PDT

GlowNZ's diary has been deleted but this diary still stands. Apparently, Markos really does wish McCain has cancer.

22 Killian Bundy  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:29:31pm

Vote Obama!

/who cares who sits on the Supreme Court anyway?

23 Alouette  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:29:34pm

And these same creeps were frantically fine-toothing LGF, FreeRepublic, Hotair, Michelle Malkin, desperately searching for snarky comments about Teddy.

24 Ojoe  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:30:52pm

I do believe we are seeing before our very eyes, the denouement of the Democratic Party.

25 pat  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:31:14pm

Wonder if Rev Wright has any holocaust sermons? Hmmmm

26 Killian Bundy  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:33:01pm
Plus I never, in my diary, said I want McCain to get cancer--that's why I find it funny. 'Cuz he does have a cancer--and it's called George Walker Bush heh heh.

(yes, I do find it funny, and sick, and McCain's karma)

It's only people who think I'm wishing McCain to get cancer again (those who don't get it) who wouldn't think this diary has its hilarious elements.

I do believe we are seeing before our very eyes, the denouement of the Democratic Party.

Much has been made about the high turnout in the primaries, and the media is trying to convince us that it's all good news for Obama.

Wrong!

The highest turnout in the primaries was set in 1972. We all know how that turned out for the Dems.

33 Killian Bundy  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:37:51pm

Why are kos kidz unhappy? They have three democrats running for president!

McCain - regular democrat
Obama - socialist neo-Marxist democrat
Hillary - socialist / crazy power hungry phony

35 Shiplord Kirel  Tue, May 27, 2008 5:38:50pm

The "left" as we know it today is the cutting edge of cultural elitism, the same people who regard themselves as superior because they understand "scat" as art. To such a level has half a century of de facto rule by the commercial media and its internal culture taken us.

The values of home, church, and academic tradition have been replaced by those of the circus: entertainment, advertising, and emotional demagoguery. Indeed, the academic establishment has been hijacked in its entirety and turned into the training and indoctrination arm of this whorehouse elite.

There must be a revolution, not against the government but against the all-powerful shadow government of the media-industrial complex. Its depraved value system has held sway long enough.

I've been reading about Sarah Palin, gov of Alaska. The stuff I read was remarkably light on her achievements as Gov. -- what notable accomplishments has she made? Do we know?

I admire her life story, however, and I particularly admire the fact that she knew her fifth child would be Down's Syndrome and continued the pregnancy. That takes moral grounding and bodes well for her politics.

Emergency procedures:
Fill your bath-tub with 50% bleach solution, remove hard-drive, immerse completely for 24 hours.

Anyway, I want to find out whether he might be anti-Semitic; he doesn't appear to be, and his lack of comments on the bad threads bear it out. He seems mostly interested in election numbers, what states are likely to go for Obama, etc.

Baldilocks has some interesting thoughts on Obama the player:

Do you sometimes feel as though the presidential campaign of a certain senator is merely a multi-act play performed by an off off off Broadway acting troupe?
.....UPDATE: Lord Nazh notices that Obama also claims that his grandfather enlisted right after the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor by Imperial Japan. However, the Kansas WWII Veterans Record shows that his grandfather Stanley Armour Dunham, enlisted in the military on June 18, 1942. Is the delay explainable or was this another badly learned line?

30 mike is the smallest the Apache carries, those burst are about a quick a burst as you can get with that gun, no single round, no three shot burst. The only thing more sugerical would be a team on the ground with a sniper rifle, SW or infantry weapons.

Since the video came off a Apache I will assume it was officially released and was a righteous shot. If wasn't the tape would be part of the investigation.

I'm eager for McCain to engage Obama more often. Here's another snip from baldilocks, quoting the two on the Senate floor:

Obama:
I respect Sen. John McCain's service to our country. He is one of those heroes of which I speak. But I can't understand why he would line up behind the President in his opposition to this GI bill.
I can't believe why he believes it is too generous to our veterans. I could not disagree with him and the President more on this issue. There are many issues that lend themselves to partisan posturing but giving our veterans the chance to go to college should not be one of them.

McCain:
It is typical, but no less offensive that Senator Obama uses the Senate floor to take cheap shots at an opponent and easy advantage of an issue he has less than zero understanding of. ... Unlike Senator Obama, my admiration, respect and deep gratitude for America's veterans is something more than a convenient campaign pledge. I think I have earned the right to make that claim.
...And I take a backseat to no one in my affection, respect and devotion to veterans. And I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did.

The date discrepancy may well mean he enlisted right after he finished high school. My father joined the Army immediately upon HS graduation in 1945.

Six months post-Pearl Harbor isn't that significant, especially if indeed he was in school. Considering how many men enlisted in 1942, there could have been other factors for the time difference.

Whenever we get something like this, it is scary, as the village we live in was flooded a year ago April, as the Army Corps of Engineers, in over 25 years, has not figured out how to fix the problem. Our beach and harbor are also a mess...they close the beach to swimming because of the waste in the water. Sad for the people who live on those streets..not rebuilt yet.

We don't have anything like that here...it must have been very touching to see the graves of heroes, brought together after a Civil War..there was one tiny cemetery here in very bad shape. It has to be over 100 years old, and it got no attention. Sad. Now there are new homes built, and it is gone. not a clue as to what was done to the graves, as I haven't seen it. My husband just told me when I asked about it, as he drove by the place where it was today, trying to beat out the storm.

His Dubliners short stories are good, and so is Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Ulysses is a waste of time--I swear it was his idea of a joke.

I got through most of 'em with varying degrees of frustration..speaking of inside jokes, the monstous novel by David Foster Wallace "Infinite Jest" I am convinced was just that..he musta had several hoots watching the critics slobber themselves in spasms of hyperbole..frankly,I shall smack the young man if I ever meet him...

Al Qaeda Tape to Call for Use of WMDs

Intelligence and law enforcement sources tell ABC News they are expecting al Qaeda operatives will post a new video on the Internet in the next 24 hours, calling for what one source said is "jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West."

"There have been several reports that al Qaeda will release a new message calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians," FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told ABC News in an e-mail.

"Although there have been similar messages in the past, the FBI and [Department of Homeland Security] have no intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.," the e-mail said. "The FBI and U.S. intelligence community will review the message for any intelligence value."

While there is no evidence of any direct threat, the FBI sent a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, out of an abundance of caution.

I saw a link to the comments so I peeked.

Posted by Oomk2047

It is the electorate's ignorance of the issues and the candidates that got Bush elected. You elect a moron you get a mess - which we now have by the boatload. Djme1976 is displaying that same ignorance - read Obama's books - he's an ardent student of history - very few in the senate could even get close - McCain is going to be toast.

It's been a very long time since we had a president who was even half as knowledgeable about history, and how the economy really works, and international affairs are supposed to be conducted. Bush took us back to the dark ages in almost every respect.

What Obama's prescribing seems scary and "out of the box" to those who are terrified of their own shadows - but in reality the US has a long history of NOT being afraid to talk to our adversaries - it's the grown-up thing to do.

Jesus wept, and Mike hits a triple J&C.

Yep, I peeked at the comments also. This guy 'prowriter' is a revisionist extraordinaire-

NAZI was indeed short for national socialist party, but functionally gave no power to anyone but themselves. They were also extreme nationalists. Doesn't sound like the Democrats I know. Also, Nazis were at war with Communist Russia and were diametrically opposed to that system. By far the majority of Democrats are just as involved with, and believers in, the free enterprise system. They just believe in fair play, which is the American way. Without the basic belief in fair play, you would be working for 2 dollars a day in an unsafe factory while a few robber barons, monopolizing the market, get rich. And you would basically have no freedom to do anything about it. There must be checks and balances in any large economy. That's why top economists endorse Obama. And why Warren Buffet, one of the richest people in the world, endorses him. If it's good enough for Buffet, it's good enough for me.

Logic for someone who wants to lose this election. People aren't as stupid as these KOS kids think they are. They know Bush isn't running, they know McCain not only differs in many areas (not to mention personality and speech) from Bush.

McCain on the other hand, is politically maneuvered to deflect all criticism from the left (while vulnerable from the right which makes him even stronger on the left). He "believes" in global warming, he works with democrats and he cannot be called a "chickenhawk" by all but the most clueless extremist morons. He's got that special magic we rarely see on the right...what's it called? ULTIMATE MORAL AUTHORITY, that's it.

As long as his strategy of portraying the Iraq war as morally and strategically wise continues I think he has an overwhelming chance to destroy his opponent. With mistrust of the media at an alltime high, people's views on the war open to debate and a environmentalist war-hero Republican running for president with an actual vision of what he wants to accomplish only a series of idiotic mistakes and gaffes is going to keep him out of the white house.

The UN says that the IAEA report on Iran can not be released just quite yet, but the State Department Press Conference today kind of spilled the beans..

QUESTION: Can I have a reaction to the IAEA report?

MR. MCCORMACK: Well, the report – it really speaks for itself more than anything that I could say. It refers to the fact that the Iranians are willfully trying to – willfully withholding information about their activities related to potential weaponization. There are a number of different questions out there about the military’s involvement in this nuclear program, about Iran’s efforts to fabricate hemispheres of uranium. And I’m not sure, other than for a weapon, why you would do that. You know, perhaps there are physicists out there who could answer differently. [snark alert! : ed]

But anyway, there’s a whole long list of questions that the IAEA has.. they were going to present to the Iranian Government a series of questions. I think they even presented to them or showed them some of the documents.

And thus far, the Iranians have been willfully non-cooperative. And you can read that in the report. It’s disturbing. And we’ll see what diplomatic next steps will play* from this.

re: #407 DeathtotheSwiss

Oh, I don't disagree, I'm just telling you how their twisted little minds see everything. I've spoken to a few of these kinds of people, and this is exactly the form of logic they are using. They see McCain as Bush part three and they are going to play up this meme for all its worth.

And as they appeal more and more to the Kos fringe, the more normal people get pushed the other way.

The first time I ever had them, a coworker with border roots made them. Skirt steak was still 69 cents a pound, so we all chipped in like $2 and ate like food was outlawed. He dumped the meat in a plastic bag with spices, lime juice, onions, peppers, etc. in the fridge overnight to tenderize it, and then gave it a hasty Viking funeral on a grill. Amazingly good.

Hey, 'Prowriter'... with or without any "basic belief in fair play", doesn't it appear to YOU that, IF 'a few robber barons' monopolize the market, THERE IS NO MARKET?

Think, Dewd (or Dudette, whichever)... $2 a day would go for essentials, NOT for dispendable income, RIGHT? And the 'few robber barons' would have NOTHING, because there'd be NO ONE to buy whatever they were making in their "unsafe factory", would there?

I grew up eating Cajun, Latin and Caribbean foods. So those are the foods I actually care about. Italian, Asian and most everything else I'll eat out of a jar, can or drive-thru with no complaints.

Ahhh...diversity.

Actually, as the poster of the diary mentioned...

I also want to mention that positive comments about this diary, by people who DO find it FUNNY, were also deleted/hidden by these cowardly folks who can't stand people who have OTHER thoughts different from their own.

So it's not even accurate to say that all the kommenters are appalled. Monitors are just removing evidence of how sick a lot of them are.

re: #520 savage_nation

Oh, that would have been a capital crime in my great-grandmothers house. Those pesky Italians, you know, always getting pissed off haha

I actually have to put sugar in for mine, but I use canned crap so I have to counter the tartness a bit. Only a small pinch.

Thank you so much. Prayers are always appreciated. But, please note the use of the word survivor. Mine was in '86. My doctors actually use the "c" word. Cured!

Congratulations! :)

There's one in a food court in downtown Saint Paul. Not sure if that's the same one you're thinking of, though.

Not crazy about their food, but I eat there once in a while.

Chicago? Detroit?

Ha!

L.A. has the second greatest population of Mexicans of any city in the world.

I'm a big fan of what Anthony Bordain calls "turn and burn" food. French food is amazing as long as you avoid the crap with sea kelp foam with fried arugula wafers sticking out of it. Peasant food rules!

re: #589 bosforus

so you're saying i'm an over programed caricature? if that's what you're saying, it's fine, it just kind of seemed like it came out of left field.

Oh, NO, Sir... nothing of the sort, thank you for sharing that perception.

I was quoting and commenting on your observations upthread, Bos, #532, where you were noting the non-homogeniety of Kos Komments AND THEIR SUBSEQUENT EDITING...

I meant no reference to you, Sir, other than a general reference to ALL humans, all of whom CAN overprogram their inputs...

/maybe it was my emboldening your nic, but THAT has nothing to do with inputs overprogramming, its just a quirk of mine to show respect and to aid commenters in SEEING their name in my response...

I also warp, twist and misspell nicknames on occasion, with no malice of intent...

re: #615 savage_nation

At least you dont dump a boatload of sugar in it.

God no, a friend of mine thought he'd "help" and put about a tablespoon in. Gag, it took me twenty minutes to find something to tone the sweetness back down. Of course I was in an AF dorm in Germany and the kitchen wasn't exactly well stocked.

Malignant melanoma just behind my left ear. Surgical removal took care of it. My Mrs. saved my life. She kept bugging me about a "mole" that seemed to be getting bigger. I had it removed. The Dr. had the good sense to have it checked. Bad news. Another surgery to clear out the immediate area, followed by 5 years of very intrusive head-to-toe examinations every 6 months. No further problems.

But, at the time I was a heavy equipment operator. I quit my job after the 1-year anniversary. I went back to school to finish an old teaching degree. I've added two masters degrees since then and am now a school administrator.

Looking to move to another school....interview tomorrow.

A staple of the Spartan diet was black soup (pig blood, vinegar, some other gross stuff). A foreign visitor, having sampled it, said that it was no wonder they had no fear of death. Or something to that affect.
