LGF-Haters Ranting Again at Fark.com

Thu, May 29, 2008 at 9:28:27 am PDT

The good thing about getting a link at Fark is that since I spent a lot of time tuning our server and database settings, we no longer get knocked offline by the surge in traffic.

The other good thing is that a link at Fark inevitably provokes another hilarious round of sneering and seething—starting with the cute description: FARK.com: (3634819) The new Bush-bashing Scott McClellan book was covertly funded by George Soros and the mole people who live at the center of the Earth.

Ignorant mockery is the new leftist flavor of the month—it’s the perfect substitute for honest debate! Tastes great, less filling.

The best part is that the MSM hardly even acknowledges the influence that billionaire Soros has. The MSM loves to attack oil companies, even though they donate money to both parties, however, Soros donates exclusively to the left and the farther left.

Soros is the most dangerous person in the United States, well, dangerous if you don't like the idea of socialism. That's why he is the champion of the far left Dem's, they loooove socialism.

FARK.com: (3634819) The new Bush-bashing Scott McClellan book was covertly funded by George Soros and the mole people who live at the center of the Earth.

Facts don't count anymore.

They are 'mere evidence'.

Similarly, facts no longer count as regards Obama. The facts, negative as they may be, 'distract' (and to only a minimal degree) from the larger truth - that Obama is the Messiah.

This is what a cult of personality is about.

#3 Killgore Trout: LOL

Q: Why does Soros support Osama Obama?
A: Because he's got one of the largest short positions in the market.

Which tells you that even a looney lefty like him knows damn well the impact of Barack Hussein Obama's economic policies... applying the credit card industry "forgiveness" tactic would simply be catastrophic. Look at why credit card companies charge 20+% per annum interest fees - it's because they've learned the hard way that when bad debt goes to court, judges plead for forgiveness and they end up having to pay for it. Now imagine the same happening in the home mortgage industry - it would be a disastrous solution...

Hey, Obama has a great team not only in economics but also in foreign policy (Zbigniew Brzezinksi)...

Soros has been shorting the dollar for years. Pushing crazy economics and socialism to dampen capitalism. So far it has worked. But he is worried right now. The hard left very much wants a full on depression to cripple America and introduce another wave of socialism.

Larry Derfner, JPost's professional cage-rattler:

Karsenty, Richard Landes and the rest of the conspiracy theorists have so much evidence that it may even add up to .001% of the evidence that the Mafia, or Castro, or the Pentagon killed JFK. They may have the merest, slightest fraction of the evidence there is that Shimon Peres masterminded the Rabin assassination, or that the Mossad was behind 9/11.

In other words, it's a bunch of crap, all these theories that say journalist Charles Enderlin, his Palestinian cameraman, al-Dura's father, a hospital in Gaza, a hospital in Amman, the Jordanian ambassador to Israel, the UN, the Palestinian people and/or any number of other anti-Semites conspired to stage the killing of that 11-year-old boy.

No wonder Soros found a soulmate in Osnos, McLellan's new boss! I recall reading his icky stuff in the WashPost for 20 years--all the news fit to print from Vietnam & Moscow's perspective, duh.

"Before entering book publishing, [Peter] Osnos spent nearly twenty years at the Washington Post, where he was variously Indochina bureau chief, Moscow correspondent, foreign editor, national editor, and London bureau chief. He has been a commentator and host for National Public Radio and a contributor to publications including Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic, and The New Republic . He served as chair of the trade division of the Association of American Publishers, chair of Human Rights Watch Europe and Central Asia Committee and was a member of the Board of Directors of Human Rights Watch. He is currently the chair of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and the Columbia University School of Journalism." [1]

"He is currently the Vice-Chairman of The Columbia Journalism Review and Executive Director of The Caravan Project, funded by the MacArthur Foundation and based at TCF. A graduate of Brandeis University and the Columbia University School of Journalism, he lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife, Susan Osnos, who is a consultant for nonprofit organizations."

MILAN, Italy - First it was the film and the book. Now the next stop for Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" is opera.

La Scala officials say the Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli has been commissioned to produce an opera on the international multiformat hit for the 2011 season at the Milan opera house. The composer is currently artistic director of the Arena in Verona.

re: #61 ronnie

Obamanomics will be disastrous in two other areas as well:

Reversing the Bush tax cuts will cause a huge market slide. The reversal of capital-gains type treatment for dividends will impact dividend paying stocks the hardest. So?. . . .these are called "widows and orphan" stocks for a reason, its because retirees and others are big investors to secure incomes. They'll get hit hardest by this.

Of course raising the highest income tax brackets and increasing the social security tax isn't going to help the economy either, but Obama is absolutely dead set against reducing the corporate income tax, from its current position as the highest in the world.

The net result of the higher corporate tax is two-fold: First of all, in a competitive global economy, new businesses are going to locate themselves outside the USA into more tax-favorable jurisdictions. That's ALREADY happening, with business that historically *should* have been started in the USA going elsewhere.

Next, with American corporations having to pay more taxes (not just income taxes, but also increased healthcare costs, and other burdens Obama is going to add on) profitability will go down. . .meaning the companies can hire less workers, further dragging the economy.

Like him or not, this is another major and significant difference between Obama and McCain. For all his "economic ignorance" McCain is still campaigning on a "lower taxes" platform. Obama, on the other hand is literally campaigning on a platform that would push through literally one of the LARGEST TAX INCREASES IN AMERICAN HISTORY, and we are hearing nothing about this.

Of the stories that I have read, all the quotes I've seen are in the vein of: "engaged in propaganda", "convinces himself to believe what suits his needs at the moment", "decision to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed".

Has he given specific instances of these "revelations"?

Even he has said that the recession may not come to pass.( Unless Obama becomes President). The hard left very much wants a full on depression to cripple America and introduce another wave of socialism.

The 29 depression hit Europe much worse than it hit the US. As will any depression in the US hit Europe hard because their natural resources are still less than the US. Yes, the Euro is higher than the dollar but the US still has massive natural resources and in the end it will come down to who has the natural resources.

Marvel's version of the Mole Men look vaguely Oriental. I always thought it was Jack Kirby's parody of the Japanese. They certainly look like certain WWII depictions of Japanese soldiers.

Fairness caveat: If not for them, the line would never have been built (seems they were far cleaner and exponentially more industrious than the white/European workers on the line).

In a nutshell, this is fascism:

Fascism exalts the nation, state, or group of people as superior to the individuals composing it.

Sorry if it doesn't fit with your concept of LGF, but we here believe in individual liberty, and that's about as anti-fascist as you can get.
