Barack Obama is expected to speak soon about his 20-years belated decision to leave Trinity United Church, and here’s a thread to discuss it.

Christ probably would have been 'black' by the crazy one drop rules and by features, one-drop rules that were basically about maintaining a slave class especially in places like Mississippi, SC and Louisiana where blacks began to outnumber whites during slavery. Alexander Dumas, Pushkin etc.. people also with 'ashen skin and lambswool hair' were considered so.

Just as the half immigrant with a father who happens to be from Kenya instead of France or China, the descendants of slave traders and owners on both sides of the family, can go to a place like Trinity and marry and angry (but highly privileged) Power Sister, learn a little Ebonics and code switching, and then all of a sudden be 'black' as well-- until it gets time for the general.

Having left many a church after technically being a "member" and finding it completely wrong for me, here's what Obama should've done.

(1) Don't attend the church anymore;

(2) Don't touch the issue with a ten foot pole until January;

(3) Announce that you're leaving the church because of a geographical move away from the area, make sure to state clearly that you got a Letter of Recommendation from Trinity that you'll present to a new church;

(4) Join a much more conservative church.

Whoever on his campaign thought of making this decision/press conference, at this time, surrounded by ornery local SD newspapermen, should be fired.
