Obama the Self-Proclaimed Messiah

Wed, Jun 4, 2008 at 8:41:41 am PDT

Last night Barack Obama broke all records for campaign promises, with one of the most over the top self-aggrandizing statements ever uttered by a presidential candidate.

I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.

He’s going to heal the sick and make the oceans part.

Ooohhkay.

Obama wants to prevent Iranian nukes by offering "meaningful incentives"

"... But as president of the United States, I would be willing to lead tough and principled diplomacy with the appropriate Iranian leader at a time and place of my choosing – if, and only if – it can advance the interests of the United States," he told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual policy conference.

Obama said diplomacy is not synonymous with weakness. He suggested that Iran will be given a choice — abandon its "dangerous nuclear program, support for terror and threats to Israel," in exchange for "meaningful incentives – including the lifting of sanctions, and political and economic integration with the international community." ...

We're screwed if this douchebag becomes the next President - I still believe he will be.

Okay, relax. This is how Presidential candidates talk at times like this. I'll never forget Gary Hart's proud proclamation of a "New Democracy" after his win in New Hampshire.

Now it's time to start re-focusing on Afghanistan and al Qaeda. Can't wait to see what Obama does on this. I'm sure the Daisy Cutters will start raining down in Kandahar within minutes of Barack taking office. Let's face it: He's going to take the war to the terrorists, including the ones vigorously supporting his candidacy right here in the good ole US of A.

Obama's new campaign song,
with apologies to Pete Townshend

I overwhelm as I approach you
Make your lungs hold breath inside!
Lovers break caresses for me
Love enhanced when I've gone by.

You'll feel me coming,
A new vibration
From afar you'll see me
I'm a sensation, I'm a sensation.

They worship me and all I touch
Hazy eyed they catch my glance,
Pleasant shudders shake their senses
My warm momentum throws their stance.

You'll feel me coming
A new vibration
From afar you'll see me
I'm a sensation, I'm a sensation.

Soon you'll see me, can't you feel me
I'm coming ...
Send your troubles dancing I know the answer
I'm coming ... I'm coming ...
I'm a sensation.

I leave a trail of rooted people
Mesmerised by just the sight,
The few I touch are now disciples
Love as One I Am the Light

86 Cognito  Wed, Jun 4, 2008 8:52:47am

Man. I'm watching John McCain here, and agreeing with everything he's saying.

But he appears to be standing before a chalkboard. He's backed by about five gals. The crowds sounds about a hundred strong, by applause. And McCain sounds a bit pooped.

Versus:

Standing in a stadium. Backed by rabidly (and unthinkingly) screaming fans. The crowd made of thousands and thousands and thousands. And big swooping oratory flourishes.

It's gonna be a long, hard campaign. No one ever lost an election by underestimating the American electorate's attention span.

Someone should tell him that generations from now, neither we nor our children will be around to tell or be told anything.

However, generations from now, our descendants will be able to tell their descendants that the late 20th and early 21st centuries were run by the insane.

In fifty years of breathing, I don't think I have seen America as fed up with our politicians as we are now. Bush's popularity is at an abysmal 29 percent approval rate, Congress is at about 15 percent approval. The Republicans voting to approve the farm bill serves notice that the Republican are little different than their opponents, tax and spend is both parties motto today. The Republicans are not going to change, its time for a new party, a conservative party that both Democrat and Republican conservatives can find kindred spirits who believe in small government and lower taxes, and less government intrusion and regulation. American citizens deserve better!

185 steveoh  Wed, Jun 4, 2008 9:04:16am

I'm definitely nervous about this Obamamania. The conditions seem strikingly similar to the 1976 Race. Ford was managing the end of what the public perceived as a military failure, gas prices were sky rocketing. And along came this no one. A peanut farmer who spoke to the people of change, and a new way to engage the threats of the Cold War. Reconciliation, diplomacy, making nice nice to the world. He took the race by surprise, blowing by the other nominees with this "new way" Cumbaiya attitude.

The one significant difference I'm seeing is that Jimmah"s born again message helped him bring in the religious Christian vote. Obama on the other hand will be painted for what he is. A racist who practiced in a racist church and surrounded himself with enemies of America in the form of Jihadists and other hate mongering idiots. I hope it's enough to give McCain the win.

Look out soon for my website NYDemsforMcCain.com I'm hoping to offer whatever I can to keep this guy from becoming president, because his damage will be far worse than some hostages and a few crashed helicopters in the desert.

Some one sent me an email with over 30+ lies that BO has told. here are a few:

1.) "Selma got me born" - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965.
(Google ''Obama Selma'' for his full March 4, 2007, speech and articles about its various untruths.)

2.) Father was a goat herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well-educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.

3.) Father was a proud freedom fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.

4.) My family has strong ties to African freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya. It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that....and for more. Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.

5.) My grandmother has always been a Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5 am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to one man.

6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and ''Baraka'' (from which Barack came) means ''blessed'' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not half black . If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states that he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to..... 7.) I never practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office. 4-3-08 Article ''Obama was 'quite religious' in Islam.''

Obama, "for all of us that have dreams and hope, is a hero," Lucas said.

Most Liberals don't believe in the The 10 Commandments and of course everyone needs something to believe in, so they drop to their knee's for Obama as their new Messiah.

The number #1 law in the 10 Commandments is: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

--------
The two parties are locked into a game of musical chairs, neither can stray to far from the other, more and more big government and less and less freedoms...thus the direction dosen`t change much regardless of who is in power...a new party is the only answer to break the stranglehold and this is no easy task since both old parties will gang up to kill any threat to their power.

"As a black man, if I were running for president Id want my being black to be a footnote not a headline, but hey thats just me. Id rather be judged my charater and choices. Not by my skin color."

I think Obama does treat it as a footnote. It's others who make it a headline.

Obama positions himself as a post-racial candidate, emphasizing not so much his blackness, but his mixed-race heritage. But that's still a way of putting race at the center of his candidacy.

Yesterday I organized a business networking party in New York. The owners of the location had a big Obama sign on the door. I asked them to take it down, because I didn't want my event to be associated with politics in any way. The owner refused. He said 80 percent of the people at my event were going to be Obama supporters anyway. Then he asked if I didn't support Obama because he was black.

So there you have it. Everybody supports Our Great Leader. If you don't, you're probably a racist.

re: #103 BGB!
"As a black man, if I were running for president Id want my being black to be a footnote not a headline, but hey thats just me. Id rather be judged my charater and choices. Not by my skin color."

You should have replied, "I oppose Obama based on his beliefs, are you supporting him based upon his race?"

Which is of course ridiculous. We all know that he's in fact Nyarlathotep.

Great Yuggoth, I think you're right!

Nyarlathotep's first appearance is in the eponymous short story by Lovecraft (1920), in which he is described as a "tall, swarthy man" who resembles an Egyptian Pharaoh. In this story he wanders the earth, seemingly gathering legions of followers through his demonstrations of strange and seemingly magical instruments, the narrator of the story among them. These followers lose awareness of the world around them, and through the narrator's increasingly unreliable accounts the reader gets a sense of the world's utter collapse. The story ends with the narrator as part of an army of servants for Nyarlathotep.

Every time I hear BHO talk I'm reminded of one of my favorite lines from "Lord of the Rings". Frodo is talking to Aragorn when he first meets him Frodo replies about Aragorn's appearance that Aragorn "looked foul, but felt fair" In other words Aragorn's rather harried appearance belied his noble nature. With BHO it's just the opposite. He "looks fair, but feels foul". To me he is the quintessential wolf in sheep's clothing. I don't trust the Obamassiah to me he is the Obamination. God help this country if this devil posing as an angel of light gets elected POTUS.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America.

Kenyans celebrate with 'Senator' beer as Obama clinches US candidacy...

Hoisting plastic cups of "Obama" beer and gathering around glowing television sets, Kenyans celebrated Wednesday as U.S. Senator Barack Obama laid claim to the Democratic presidential nomination half a world away.

Some hoped for promises of more U.S. aid to Africa, while others simply wanted to bask in the glory of a successful black politician with Kenyan roots. And in this region of western Kenya, where the candidate is seen as a local son, Obama's Kenyan relatives described him as a great hope for both Kenya and the United States.

"It would be good if he becomes president of the United States," Obama's step-grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, told The Associated Press in her tribal language, Luo. "Barack could help build schools in Kenya, hospitals, help the orphans here. It would be a blessing."

In Arkham town we have some names
For certain lurking hoodoos
Like Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth;
But we call the boss Cthulhu.

CHORUS: Cthulhu, Cthulhu!
We call the boss Cthulhu.

They are a lost and lonely race.
For while the Green Star binds them
They cannot leave their hiding place.
I hope you never find them.

CHORUS

Cthulhu rules the human race
He sends them dreadful nightmares.
Cthulhu rules the human race
He's got us by the short hairs.

CHORUS

This is known as "damning with faint praise".

393 Llanite  Wed, Jun 4, 2008 9:54:27am

More then self-aggrandizing, I refuse to accept this:

I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.

I refuse to accept that a sense of guilt should be the over-riding feature of my nation's existence up to this point. Guilt is a rope that wears thin Mr. Obama, and I have a thick neck.

394 lawhawk  Wed, Jun 4, 2008 9:54:35am

re: #342 bagua

Give him time. He's already one-upping Edwards' nonsensical rhetoric.

However, that wasn't even the worst part of his speech. That whole section is a treasure trove of fisking material.

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs for the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.

Began to provide care to the sick? Oh really? You mean that Ted Kennedy's treatments were a mirage? Your kids were born at home with a midwife and not at a hospital? Good jobs for the jobless? Unemployment is hovering in a range that economists have long claimed to be total employment since a certain amount of unemployment was needed to deal with changes to industries and technological advancements.

Rising oceans and healing the planet? Since when does the planet need to heel? The planet was here before us, and it will be here long after we're all dead and gone - and will likely remain the 3d rock from the sun until the sun finally does its death throes and turns out the lights on a permanent basis.

Ending a war? Right, we'll end it when we declare victory. Not when you decide to base our foreign policy on how our enemies feel. This part shows just how out of touch with foreign policy he is (or in tune with the Carter doctrines). Obama thinks that we have to quit fighting the war declared on us as though that will improve our stature in the world. That profoundly misguided nonsense is the Obama doctrine in a nutshell. Our allies will see this as abandonment and worry about our longstanding commitments to our allies.

Our enemies will see this as profound weakness and continue their war against the West and US interests worldwide.

395 Oh no...Sand People!  Wed, Jun 4, 2008 9:54:36am

Obama is a BS artist and when your poop is ice cream the rubes eat it up. Politicians like Obama, great orators with obscured goals, are very very dangerous, think Chavez, Mussolini, Castro, Mugabe, Hitler, et al. And their disciples do not have any loyalty to the freedoms in the Constitution and will work long and hard to suppress opposition limiting those freedoms. The sort of mind numbed diligence Obama is eliciting will move the US toward more government, less freedom and greatly increase politicians influence, control and power. Scary stuff.
