I read McCain's account many years ago. It's one of those things where you read the page and then stare into space, just trying to imagine. I made my sons read it, too. McCain's book is called, "Faith of My Fathers". His father and grandfather were Admirals. Barry wrote a book, "Dreams of My Father". Barry never knew his father. I find this all very ironic.

I am really tired of shallow people thinking that one's appearance has any relationship to the ability to be the Chief Executive of the USA and the Commander in Chief of the military. I think the story, here, is that the Daily KOS nation is pressing against this post as being "4th graderish", "childish", and "not worthy".

Aside from just being plain stupid considering McCain's heroics as a POW (not that Markos understood the connection, but if you don't engage in childish and fallacious arguments you'll tend not to get trapped when one of them turns out to this distasteful).

But all sides have engaged in this behavior -- let's remember that James Stockdale was ridiculed endlessly for having to turn his hearing aid up during a debate -- a hearing aid he needed because, as Dennis Miller puts it (well):
