And Now for Some John Hiatt

Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 4:07:46 pm PDT

A great song by John Hiatt with a pretty good video: Cry Love, from Walk On.

Youtube Video

A moment of steel
A dry-eyed house
Did he say goodbye to you
Or did you kick him out
I know you’re not afraid
To go alone
But this was a marriage of spirit, flesh, and bone

Now whatcha gonna do
When the planet shifts
Whatcha gonna do
Gonna slit your wrists
Bleed all over the milky way
The stars in your eyes look red today

Chorus:
Cry love, cry love
The tears of an angel
The tears of a dove
Spilling all over, your heart from above
Cry love, cry love

The trust of a woman in his hand
But he was a little boy, not a man
You loved him stronger than he could feel
Yeah he was wrapped up in himself like an orange peel
Now whatcha gonna do
With the booze and the blush
Whatcha gonna do
When there’s no rush
Cop a little misery
At the corner store
Well one day that train of pain won’t stop no more

Chorus

Throwing up ashes on the floor
If this is a lesson in love
Well what’s it for?
The heart will remember
The burning fire
The next time you feel the flame
Of desire

Chorus
Chorus

Cry love, cry love, cry love

It's a satanic arrangement between the enviros and the government. The enviros and the epa work really well together to keep things from happening. Plus anytime something does get through the enviros put it into litigation for a hundred years.

Have no fear Obama is here!

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

We're all saved!

Development of a huge body of natural gas was stopped in its tracks last month because the Interior Department ruled that there could be only 1 derrick per 500 acres (about 3/4th of a square mile. That was to save the unthreatened sage grouse. Intentionally destroying the project? I think so. Our government has been hijacked by insane people.

Happen to have both the Corelle and the Noritake. If your Corelle is the white or a solid color, do not throw away. The toughest plate wear ever made. Your set was by Corning, BTW. Not the trade name, but the real Corning when at the top of their game, all things involving mineral compositions.

Contrary to media hysteria about polar bears facing extinction, polar bear expert Dr. Mitch Taylor notes: "Of the 13 populations of polar bears in Canada, 11 are stable or increasing in number." Indeed the current polar-bear population of 20,000-25,000 is four to five times the population of 50 years ago.

Lefty is noisy, while the silent majority is quietly going about their day; going to work, paying bills, picking the kids up from school, shopping for food, and the hundred other things that fill our lives. But that silent majority is seeing their purchasing power disappear as massive amounts of dollars are exported to countries that hate our guts. Whichever candidate for President who is able to channel that anger and show the way of liberalism is anti-prosperous and promotes positive forward-looking ideas for the future should win easily. Unless he happens to be a Republican, in which case those ideas will be derided in the MSM as unrealistic, impossible, and an insult to the nations collective conscience.

Same issue of The New American, John Coleman, Founder, Weather Channel, said:

We're in a cooling trend. The sun has gone quiet. Those guys in Canada nad Russia are talking about an ice age; they've probably gone over the edge, but they have a point. A cooling trend is under way.

South America has had the worst winter in 50 years. China has had the worst winter in 50 years. The United States is having a real old-fashioned winter. Alaska just finished one of the worst cold spells in a couple of decades -- I didn't see any press on it at all, but it was 40 below for seven days straight in Fairbanks. Another Alaskan community had 72 below, some of the coldest weather they've ever seen in modern times in Alaska. The Arctic ice cap that we heard all about melting last summer is frozen up.

87 razorbacker  Fri, Jun 6, 2008 4:46:03pm
"Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who wrapped his party's presidential nomination just this week, is already besieged by liberal constituencies demanding that he cut military spending to boost social programs," reports the Hill:
Two influential liberal groups have sent the presumptive Democratic nominee a letter pressing him to support cuts to defense programs to pay for universal preschool, relief for Americans facing foreclosure on their homes and expanded benefits for military veterans.
The demands carry weight because the groups, the Black Leadership Forum and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), represent two constituencies that are important to Obama's political strategy: blacks and Hispanics. . . .
The calls of liberal groups and lawmakers come at a particularly awkward time for Obama.
Since clinching the party's nomination on Tuesday, Obama has already tacked to the right on security issues in preparation for the general election. . . . Now Obama must balance tough talk on national security with the desires of many Democrats to slim American military power.

Oh, come on. "Besieged"? "Awkward"? If this isn't the fattest political softball of the campaign so far, we don't know what is. It's a perfect opportunity for Obama to make the case that he is tough enough to stand up to both America's enemies and liberal special interests. And given that it is Congress that passes the budget, Obama doesn't have to commit himself to anything.

My rep in DC is a total ass. My senators are Schumer and Clinton. Ive contacted them all on numerous occasions and gotten no sane response. Their assistants that I've spoken to haven't even know about important pending legislation. And most of them sound like your typical 16 year old valley kid: clueless, ironic and self-important.

It all seems like a joke sometimes.

I just ordered Same Old Man today. And I've been spinning Master of Disaster all day.

Last week some lizard used the expression "Pastor of Disaster", and that makes me think we need a re-write of the lyrics, but it may not be a well-known enough song to entice Winslow or Buzzsawmonkey.

I have never understood why all the Labor Unions always support the Dems...the political party that fights tooth and nail not to develope our oil, nuke, and coal industries...don't want new bridges and highways...fights to stop refineries, and off shore developments.
All those are always high paying Union jobs.

Dems and Repubs scream for energy independence...but both parties now fight any effort to get there.

Every country except Japan as higher corporate taxes than we do!
And Lefty wants to tax them more! If I were a corporation I would move the hell out of this country. I'd move to Canada.

Yes, that would be a good move. Not only for the tax rate. Guess where lots and lots of our illegals (cheap labor) are headed as many businesses here are starting to tighten up? No, not back South. You can't go home again. Be workin' on your Spanish my Northern friends.

"Sage" -

AND - Some "North American" Corporations moved some production operations to CANADA to avoid paying for Medical Benefits - Like GM, Ford and "Chrysler-Benz." That is why I am NOT totally against single payer/government healthcare for competitive reasons. Problem is, if your sister gets breast cancer in CANADA - she's got a problem. If she is BELINDA STRONACH, Liberal MP of Newmarket/Aurora, Ontario. And you are the SCIONESS of a BILLION DOLLAR (US or CDN) Fortune, you cross the border and get IMMEDIATE LIFE SAVING CARE!
Socialized medicine is RATIONING, no ifs ands or buts about it. The question the US must answer is that on a competitive basis - SHOULD we allow our "working stiffs" pay for crummy-care through the tax rolls to maintain competitiveness. If you don't belive this - "Search Engine" France, Summer 2003, Deaths of Senior Citizens (Mostly Due To Lack of $100 Air Conditioners!). Deaths were about 15,000.

Lightworker

A lightworker is a person who feels inspired to help others through spiritual meditation, teaching, healing, prayer, writing and speaking through unconditonal love. The term was popularised by Doreen Virtue in her book The Lightworker's Way published by Hay House in 1997.

Lightworkers can come from a variety of spiritual traditions and backgrounds, yet generally agree that the healing light they work with is comprised of eternal energy connecting everyone and everything in the universe, and that it is possible for people to connect consciously with divine light energies through intention.

Follow the link if you want to read more of that jibberish.

Maybe if their taxation wasn't so high (which we've already established was the highest in the world) they would be able to pay for more health care benefits.

And if Government run healthcare means that healthcare is free, maybe the government should run the oil industry too. Then gasoline would be free also...right?

I know Neil Young is a hopeless moonbat these days, but he is a musical genius, IMHO.

I was meditating on the lyrics of the song "Woodstock" (written by Joni Mitchell, famously played by CSN&Y)

By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
And everywhere there was song and celebration
And I dreamed I saw the bombers jet planes
Riding shotgun in the sky
Turning into butterflies
Above our nation.

We are stardust, we are golden
We are ten billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden

I remember liking the song in my youth, but now when I actually think about the lyrics I realize what a bunch of fluffy-headed, self-aggrandizing generational mass-masturbation it was.

Thank God I am over thirty now.

He keeps hollering at us about not closing the back door good when we come in and out--well if he would fix the darn thing---it would be a lot easier to shut and if you do shut it good you have to slam it and then you get hollered at for slamming the door.

Ethylene is another great tune from this great album.

Now some men will drive
To the edges of nothing

Some men avoid love
Like it was a plague or something
So they can leave the seat down
When they piss
