Hillary's Swan Song, Thread 2

Sat, Jun 7, 2008 at 9:41:31 am PDT

Hillary had to be dragged out of the house kicking and screaming for this one.

She’s delayed for nearly an hour, so here’s another thread for this debacle.

Between him and her...

Well....no questions...she would be a known quantity and a better choice.

24 Desert Dog  Sat, Jun 7, 2008 9:44:55am

She will concede, but not without pointing out the fact she has been kicking Obama's ass lately. The fact that the two dems beat the crap out of each other actually made a race out of this election. Thank you Hillary, for staying in and knocking Obama down to mere moral level

25 FQ Kafir  Sat, Jun 7, 2008 9:44:57am

55 brickthruplateglasswindow  Sat, Jun 7, 2008 9:47:10am

How about this...

She deals for the VP nod instead, they win, there IS a "whitey" tape, it's released, Obama has to resign in shame, and now she's in charge. Sounds like a pretty good plot line for a political thriller. Just sayin'.

I think my tinfoil hat is roasting my brain today. :(

Rosie O'Donnell
Michelle Obama
Op-Rah
The entire cast of "The View" with the exception of Elizabeth Hasselbeck (sp?)
Janeane Garafalo
Susan Saranwrap
Babs Streisand
Sheryl "One Square of TP" Crow
Madonna

That'll do for a start. Now the only question is, decaying orbit spiralling in to the sun or a gravitational slingshot off Jupiter to send them out of the solar system and into the interstellar void.

He can't simply give her money that was raised for his own campaign, but he could issue a special appeal to his supporters to contribute to her.

Also, it's worth noting that the use of "suspend" has to do w/ fundraising. Suspending, rather than shutting down, her campaign allows her to continue raising money herself.

I had to turn it off...no drama, just democrat boilerplate.

It doesn't matter anymore what comes out about Obama. They can't/won't take this election away from him. Hillary will get some cabinet post if she wants it.

Obama would have to be found with "a dead woman or a live boy" to lose the nomination at this point. No other mortal would have survived all the previous revelations.

I also think he will win the election. The Obama campaign has marketed him with Madison Ave savy. He is strategically positioned so head shots show him with his logo as halo. Even the fist pump was well-choregraphed.

I originally posted this on Little Green Footballs when McCain locked up the nomination. I thought in was appropriate to answer your comment.

Random

“I am very disappointed to see people here jump on the Republican bandwagon and chastise Conservatives, such as myself, trying to make us "fall in line" behind McCain.

I am a Conservative first and foremost. I have voted and donated Republican ever since President Reagan ran for his second term. After many questionable liberal stances by the current Republican Party, I changed my registration to Independent. The last straw came after the immigration amnesty fiasco sponsored by McCain, Bush, and my Senator Martinez. I didn't leave the Republican Party; they left me.

Conservatives have no candidate in this presidential election. There are 3 liberals running right now (Don’t count Hillary as gone yet). Why should I or any other Conservative sell our values and souls to vote for the liberal you are supporting named John McCain? You may say it's because of potential Supreme Court vacancies, but you are not thinking it through. No matter who is elected, they are all 3 liberals and will nominate liberals to the Supreme Court. Do you seriously think, after all these years of McCain sleeping with the democrats, he will suddenly appoint Conservatives to the Supreme Court if he's president? Get real! He will probably depend on Ted Kennedy (if he’s still alive) to provide him with the list of potential judges. Those potential Supreme Court seats are already reserved for liberal judges, no matter who gets elected in 2008.

Conservatives have been shut out of this race, and I for one, are not going to be the Republican’s obedient lap dog and vote for whomever they want to be president. My money will stay in my wallet except to fund opposition to Senator Mel Martinez’s reelection. Remember, we are Conservatives, not Republicans, democrats, or any other party. Maybe the critics ought to take time to reflect as to what they themselves are: Conservatives or blind, obedient Republicans?

It's going to be a rough 4 years for the USA no matter who gets elected.”

I think thatwas Rangels's job. t Tel lher thateh DNC would cover the $33,000,000 if she'd make the speech to endorse Obama. So she gets the dough, makes the speech, hedges her bets, and still can step in if (when)Obama steps in it.
I have been listening to the news on cable and no one mentions the boos.

803 sk  Sat, Jun 7, 2008 1:44:36pm

Well, after reading the Hillary web site (hillaryclinton.com), I see repeated promises to vote for McCain and numerous references to "BHO." I'd almost think these were 'bots.

The thing is, the animus is directed not only on "BO" but the DNC ignoring "the popular vote." This meme means something to the faithful.

This is a tiny activist clique, of course, but these are the troops that bring out the voters.

There is almost much discussion of strategic voting. For example, a stay-home vote is "less efficient" than a vote for McCain to show the DNC what's what. And, a vote for BHO means 8 more years, 4 more than getting McCain in, given his age.

Most interesting.
