Still More Antisemitism at the Official Obama Site

Mon, Jun 9, 2008 at 10:41:15 am PDT

There’s so much of this stuff, maybe they should just shut down their “Community Blogs:” Barack Obama : : Change We Can Believe In | Starshu’s Blog: We Should Not be Puppets for Israel.

Countdown to deletion starts now...

It's the Ron Paul campaign writ large.

4 JammieWearingFool  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 10:42:56am

I half-jokingly suggested yesterday they should shut it down entirely. It may happen soon.

If anything, call a timeout and get your act together.

This is beyond farcical.

The current dilemma and challenge for Barak Obama is that he can't control his wife, pastors, buisiness associates, or official website. Most likely because he honestly sees nothing wrong until it is pointed out to him.

Which response will the moonbats take? So many to choose from:

1. The blog is a fake posting created by a right-winger to discredit Obama!
2. Well, McCain's teeth are yellow! So what are you complaining about?
3. Are you implying that we should be puppets for Israel? I see no problem with this blog posting, since it's accurate.
4. All information coming from LGF is immediately disregardable, because it is a (everybody together now!) racist hate site!

Hamas and the Tragedy in Gaza
By Stan from Winston Salem, NC - Apr 16th, 2008 at 12:17 am EDT

The United Nations Human Rights Council reported in 2007 that there is “no other case of a Western –affiliated regime that denies self-determination and human rights to a developing people and that has done so for so long as Israel has in the Occupied Palestinian Territories”

Our Government should stop funding the Israeli war machine until Israel agrees to come to the table without preconditions to negotiate a two-state solution and to end Israel’s Occupation.

What Israel's government does about/to/with the Palestinian Arabs is bad for Israel, therefore
support for Israel = anti-Israel
against Israel = pro-Israel

I've heard this from "Rabbi" Michael Lerner and some IDF "military resistor" tool from Yesh Gvul.

Well all y'all - thanks to Charles, this is being covered by the media - Rush mentioned it at some length (for Rush) today and ABC news on line had some stuff on their and they quoted a "reader's" comments on Instapundit about how right wingers were behind all the hateful blogs.
I posted under realwest that in truth these are supposed to be moderated; that some of the most vile and vicisous of them have been up for months and that as soon as LGF exposed them, the moderators "woke up" and deleted 'em all and had Google delete them from their cache.
CHARLES - you are doing such great, great work in exposing this garbage that I can't begin to thank you enough.
Well I contacted ABC; anyone else feel like contacting other media sites online - with direct links to Charles' threads on this?

So, to see where Obama wants to steer us; I just had lunch with a European friend (Portugal). He thinks: Guns, of course, are horribly bad, and it's quite sensible for the government to either ban them entirely, or only allow them for people who can "demonstrate need" and who pass extensive background checks, including home visits (for some unspecified reason); governments are also right to ban the carrying of any and every kind of pocketknife; and the British Medical Association may have been on to something with that idea of requiring all knives sold in the country (including cooking knives) to have rounded tips so they can't be used for badthink hurtiness.

Sigh.

How do I know the difference between having a legitimate beef with something Israel does and anti-semitism? I think that when people use the term "zionist" it is a good tip off, and clearly indicating that American leaders are stooges of Israel ascribes more power to Israel than it has (clearly with the intent of indicating that Jews are power hungry and greedy, etc.), but I could see someone saying "I have a problem with X policy from Israel" and not being anti-semitic per se...wrong perhaps, but not hateful.

re: #68 unrealizedviewpoint

There is a huge difference between comments and approved blogs. But yes, those comments should have been scrubbed.

First point noted.

I look at the official campaign sites as being indicators of each candidate's skills and philosophies around the type of community each is trying to organize and what each view as unacceptable positions and tone. It is quite different IMO from a non-official partisan or general media outlet. The free speech proponents are entitled to disagree, of course, but basic content hygiene is a larger indicator (to me, anyway) of what voices the candidates deem worthy of inclusion into their respective movements.

Bottom-up is great and all, but taken to its extreme is anarchy.

Just think: Putting lunatics who after they screw something up major will certainly be "not the people I knew" - BHO. His entire administration will be dominated by the same kind of filth we see on his website.

Originally, I thought I wouldn't bother to vote McCain, that we could accept 4 years of a democrat in order to get a stronger conservative to run and clean up the mess in 2012. However, I honestly fear the damage BHO would do to our country would take decades to repair. Most people I know who initially were turned off by McCain feel the same (voting anyway) the more they learn about this charlatan BHO.

Easy. Take out the word "Israel" and replace it with, say, "Iran" or "Syria" or "Venezuela" or even "France." Now, would you be complaining about that other country doing the same thing? Probably not. And I'll even bet you wouldn't even know about these other countries' policies in such detail in the first place. Now why is that? Could it be because the MSM only picks on Israel? One good test is to see if you are upset at Israel for doing what 200 other countries do, but you have no problem with those countries. (Different rules for Israel)

Another test along those same lines is if you are upset at Israel for doing something only slightly wrong when other countries do things 1000 times worse. Usually excused with something like, "Well, they should be better than other." (The mole hills of Israel are greater than the mountains of others) See the UN for this which has dedicated more than half of its condemnations for one country, and that country happens to be the sole free country in a sea of tyranny (except now maybe Iraq and Afghanistan) and which has more morality in its proverbial pinky finger than other countries have in their whole selves.

Lastly, if the root of your beef with Israel is that they exist as a country at all, it is anti-semitism. Anti-Zionism is anti-seminism.

Good question. If it involves stupid politicians (I know redundant) and not the Jewish people then it isn't anti-Semitic. Going for the blood libel, Mein Kampf, Protocols of the Elders of Zion, etc are all anti-Semitic.

Thanks for all the responses to what I will call "sniffing out anti-semitism 101". Posts on blogs, articles and most writings make it hard to always know the context of remarks; i.e. whether they are made because one does not like Jews, or because one does not like something Israel did/said/etc.

For instance, I could say that from what I read it sounds like the current Israeli PM sounds like a corrupt SOB, and that would be cool (perhaps even right on point), but not anti-semitic...however, if I start wailing about the IDF's response to rocket attacks without at least acknowledging that Hamas keeps rocketing (and killing people), then that might be a sign of bias. Or, at best, profound ignorance.
