I can't help but worry that these interesting revelations about his alignments and the sort of people who will vote for Barack Obama- perhaps not really doing much in the general election.

People like us who keep a close watch on these affiliations and crazy supporters would never vote for him in the first place, and for his most rabid supporters, it won't really matter.

Thing is, will the hillary dems and "undecideds" understand the connection? A lot of these people barely understand the internet.

He can technically disavow all of this stuff by saying his blog area is an open forum, which it is.

Therefore, I shall await with unbridled anticipation for the dropping of an armed, fully-functional thermonuclear device upon Little Green Footballs. I wonder if we are just feeding the beast:

The Obama campaign is right and Charles, Hot Air, Malkin, and the rest of the conservative blogosphere are wrong. Stories like this win tactical, one-day skirmishes but lose us the broader war. The damage to the Obama campaign will last 24-48 hours, and by then we'll have moved on to the next line of attack. But in the meantime, thousands more people will sign up to My.BarackObama.com. They'll form groups, RSVP to events, and yes, maybe write an off-color blogpost or two. They'll solidify their commitment to a community that's fanatically dedicated to electing Barack Obama president. And while the pundit-blogosphere may dismiss them, the people on MyBO are building the most fearsome volunteer organization in the history of Presidential politics.

Mumia Abu-Jamal Speech at Evergreen State College

Last Friday’s commencement ceremony at Evergreen State College had caps, gowns, and the words of Mumia Abu-Jamal echoing throughout the exercise for 13 minutes.

A handful of the approximately 800 graduates walked out as Abu-Jamal’s audiotaped speech was played Friday for the audience of several thousand. Two dozen other graduates stood and turned their backs, and still others wore yellow armbands for support.

One of the passages from the book will give you a little extra incentive. In this (slightly condensed) excerpt, Maureen Faulkner describes a chance encounter with a college student 15 years and 3,000 miles away from where her husband died:

As I pumped gas, a young man, a white kid who looked college age, pulled up behind me. He was wearing a T-shirt that read “Free Mumia Abu-Jamal,” and it immediately caught my eye.
I walked up and asked him where he got the T-shirt. He said he was a student at U.C.L.A. and they had recently held a rally for Abu-Jamal. I asked him if he knew anything about the case in which Abu-Jamal was involved.
He said, “Well, I know that this guy was a Black Panther who was railroaded. Someone else shot a police officer and he was framed for it.” I cringed when he went on with the usual recitation of misinformation being spun by the Abu-Jamal defenders: a peaceful black activist, a social dissident, hostile white police force, F.B.I. surveillance, conned eyewitness accounts, phony ballistics, etc.
I heard him out and offered to provide him with the actual facts of the case. He politely declined my offer. Before I left, I suggested that when he wore a political statement on his chest he would be well served if he knew his facts, because you never know when you might run into the widow of the officer. I left him in stunned silence.

Murdered by Mumia
RIP Daniel Faulkner

It appears that Obama has the knack for attracting every political crazy in America. They're all on his web site: left wing and right wing Jew haters, cop killer fans, communists, socialists, radical clerics, troofers and New Age crackpots.

My question is: why doesn't the MSM report on this? O.K. that's a rhetorical questions, we all know the answer.

Patrick Ruffini is lecturing me about what "works," but if you check out his blog, you see "1 comment," "3 comments," etc.

While he's lost in some theoretical idea of "Web 2.0" I've been building it here at LGF.

I am less-than-impressed that some of the really hateful, nasty stuff was there for months.

A few days, I can understand. A few days and replaced with a warning page, even better. But month after month...you either don't look, don't listen to all the "objections" from the "self-policing" users, or just don't disagree.

103 lurking faith  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 12:02:45pm

If you want to set up a blog on Obama's website, you have to register and be approved. So somebody inside the official Obama camp is approving this vile garbage.

Do you suppose that person will be thrown under the bus? Or will the Obamameister decide nobody cares about his hate-filled anti-American supporters?

The "puppets for Israel" post is still there.

It is all about observing what trips their "cognitive dissonance" meter and what doesn't.

Most Americans have no problem with supporting a politician who has supporters that they don't agree with as long as the basis of the other's opinion can be considered "fair minded." When the over-the-top and radical opinions go unchallenged, Americans see either moral weakness or tacit agreement signaled by the candidate.

Team Obama doesn't have much of a sense of what most Americans consider as fair-minded opinions if you look at what has been sent down the memory hole and what hasn't.

This comment is classic.........

On June 9th, 2008 at 2:15 pm, Steve said:

The candidate, the argument goes, is wrong for having a forum filled with ugly content, even if the campaign didn’t produce the content.

Little Green Footballs is wrong for having a forum filled with ugly content, especially as Little Green Footballs is responsible for having produced that content.

Therefore, I shall await with unbridled anticipation for the dropping of an armed, fully-functional thermonuclear device upon Little Green Footballs. And out of a devout sense of fair play and international evenhandedness, I will not complain one iota if the fully-armed thermonuclear device dropped on Little Green Footballs is a weapon of Israeli origin. After all, I personally know several individuals of the Jewish persuasion who find Little Green Footballs to be less desirable than even a Hezbollah diatribe or a full-color photograph of Mr. Ahmadinejad. One such individual goes so far as to compare Little Green Footballs to “spoiled pork.” That, to me, would make Little Green Footballs out to be the most undesirable of things....

I love this comment.

I am so happy that you are a part of the Obama family and have posted your info for buttons. I will send an order so that I can wear one in honor of the Arab people for Obama. I think your time for coming out of the shadows is over due. The only way to help other citizens know you, what you stand for, and what you believe in is to have conversation. Conversation will erase the fear of Arab Americans and finally end the polluted thinking that all Arabs are terrorist.

The Obama family is a welcoming place of unity and shared responsibility for everyone. We will win the presidency and create a positive change in America and the world.

Barack Obama isn't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.....

Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

HOPE - CHANGE - ABHORRENCE

Shouldn't be much of a surprise. The Left loves unrepentent killers. There would be a letter to Tookie post if he hadn't gotten the needle and 500cc of justice.

In the words of Kyle Bush,

"I was coming around that fourth turn... and I had to shut er' down"

Throw that blog under the bus already.

Hey, I even found one that I agree with. My gaster is flabberfied: [Link: my.barackobama.com...] Countdown to memory hole underway: 10, 9, 8, ....

They must have decided not to delete any more of these blogs; probably had a heated discussion about it, then decided it made them look worse to delete the posts I'm pointing out, than it does to leave them up.

I'm sure all of the crazy left-wing blog posts encouraged them in this line of thinking.

Good luck with that.

I say that blog goes down for "maintenance" soon, and doesn't re-appear till November 6th.

So far we've established that;

1) Posts are, in fact, reviewed and approved or denied by staff, as are user accounts.

2) Arguments against Obama are deleted and/or accounts related are deleted.

3) Racist, bigoted nonsense is still up after months, as well as direct anti-semitism, Marxism, and lots and lots o' hatred.

Somebody else want to do the "therefore" on that one?

189 kevinmumaw  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 2:31:29pm

An Open Letter to Mumia, From Leonard Peltier...By Christopher from ME? My, what an impressive fantasy world Christopher from ME has constructed in his head...or mind's eye, or whatever they call it these days in Obamaland. These are the kinds of "letters" you get when you have too many people thinking it is their birthright to go to college so they can study in useless social sciences. He's probably angry he has no future with his complaint studies degree.

190 ec marm  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 2:56:43pm

Does it surprise me that Obama supporters would think that Mumia Abu Jamal was somehow denied justice?
No.
I can not think of any other candidate that would want to be associated with people like that. It is beyond reprehensible.
Mumia Abu Jamal brutally murdered a Philadelphia police officer, firing the last shot into his head at point blank range.
{shaking head}

How the hell did I miss the Tricentennial?

196 Syrah  Wed, Jun 11, 2008 11:54:19pm

That thing is still up on the Obama website.

This is not an over site.

This is something the Obama campaign approves and wants associated with their campaign. Otherwise it would be gone.
