Obama's 'Crack Team of Cybernauts'

Mon, Jun 9, 2008 at 1:45:58 pm PDT

Barack Obama is setting up a “war room” to respond aggressively.

Respond aggressively to Iran? North Korea? Syria?

No, silly! To respond aggressively to internet rumors.

A crack team of cybernauts will form a rapid response internet “war room” to track and respond aggressively to online rumours that Barack Obama is unpatriotic and a Muslim.

UPDATE at 6/9/08 2:01:02 pm:

LGF lizard “Occasional Reader” has discovered a photo of the crack cybernauts springing into action:

One Obama cybernaut to another - "What's the AOL screen name we're using again?"

9 Firmworm  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 1:48:55pm

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama
and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a
post turtle'.' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him
what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down
a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on
top, that's a 'post turtle'.' The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the
doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there,
he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what
kind of a dumb as$ put him up there to begin with.'

Apparently, they're only reading the LGF front page and not the comments because we found this last night and it's still up:

Bill Ayers, Great American
By Martin from Belvedere Tiburon, CA - May 26th, 2008 at 11:48 am EDT

It's come to our attention - ad nauseum - that one University of Chicago professor, our candidate, knows another - scandalous! The latter was once a member of the Weatherman. It's been my delight and honor to know Bill Ayers since the week he came above ground after a decade of hiding. He was my child's nursery school teacher, and beyond wonderful in that role. Bill took his degree in child development from Bank Street College and moved on to higher education. He was and is an inspiring instructor, colleague and friend. Bill is a patriot of the deepest coloration -- totally reminiscent of Tom Paine, Sam Adams or Thomas Jefferson. He is and was a man of action as well as reflection. Of course age has mellowed him, but as a young man in a time of horror and national disgrace, in a time of brutal war and slaughter of civilians, in a time when civil rights was a struggle and not a foregone conclusion, Bill stood on the front lines of the struggle. And he took his cues from our Founding Fathers (and Mothers) seizing the day to alter our nation's course. His methods in that time were violent, but his targets were never human. He and his colleagues destroyed property, brought the Vietnam War and the complicity of the educational establishment into sharp focus, and helped to turn the tide of public opinion against that unjust struggle. It's likely not the course Bill would choose now, but only someone who knows no history, and who felt the Vietnam War was both just and good, could even begin to argue with those who determined to risk all to end it, and to overthrow the system that perpetrated it.

Patriotism has nothing to do with quiet obedience. That way leads to skin-headed jingoism and mindless nationalism. We are the proud inheritors of folks who struggled to have self-determination, fair representation and ultimately justice. They did not say "Never again revolution." On the contrary, the smartest of the Founders knew, said, and wrote that revolution is the tool of cleansing and renewal that fertilizes freedom. Some of us have walked that walk. Others think democracy is lock-step lick-spittle adherence in silent support for whatever idiocy government perpetrates. We've seen our government overthrown by assassination, by voting fraud and by media manipulation. The idea that some would rise up to deny continuity of power to those who use murder and intimidation, lies and mind-manipulation, is the ultimate in reassurance that freedom will not die silently.

To a thoughtful constitutional scholar, such as our candidate, contact with a charismatic, persuasive and brilliant colleague like Bill Ayers must have been irresistible. He and we should embrace that narrative. It was about something. No one supposes Obama supports violent revolution to achieve our ends now. But why, in our free country of lively idea exchange, should he not seek and embrace contact with someone as remarkable as Professor Ayers, whatever his youthful decisions?

Bill Ayers is and was a Great American, of whom the Founders would have been very proud - not for bombing ROTC buildings in Michigan, but for what he made of himself as he has helped to train and shape literally thousands of educators and leaders in the decades since. Of this is our greatness made.

As long as LGF has the Truth and hard facts to back up what we say.....all the name-calling and arm-waving from Obama's Minions won't matter a damn bit.

103 eaglewingz08  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 2:17:22pm

As Michelle M wrote, you can bet your high horses that the Obamanation will employ all of the following in order to root out claims that he is Muslim and unpatriotic:

terrorists, Communists, Jew-bashers, thugs, lugs, dregs, gunslingers, hustlers, rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, and Methodists who flock to Obama’s campaign like flies to an oyster bar’s dumpster in August?

In fact, the techies who may be in charge of the USA's IT for our intelligence services under the Obamation have left this gem up at the website for months:
"Jemaah Islamayah for Obama” website. So it seems that if the Obamanation wants to root out claims he is Muslim and unpatriotic, I guess, like charity, the rooting out would have to begin at home, on his website linking the most vile sorts of individuals (listed above) as campaigners for the Obamanation. Indeed, if the campaign doesn't understand what the Jemaah Islamayah is, and wouldn't take steps to ban it from its website, that clearly shows a horrific lack of national security understanding, and dare I say it, lack of patriotism, and perhaps an inkling that he is still a muslim?

Or perhaps the Obamanation's hit squad can demolish the school in Indonesia where he registered as a Muslim, and off his classmates, so that they don't bring out any 'inconvenient' and 'distracting' memories that won't help feed the Obamanation's children.
Perhaps this hit squad will also burn the Obamanation's father's birth certificate from Kenya listing the father as both muslim and 87 percent arab? Perhaps they will also burn the Obamanation's birth certificate as well, since it lists a very muslim name for the person running for office. And what of the Rev. Wright, he mentioned that he will have another book out before the November election. Is there an Obamanation surprise or two in that tome? Is there an October surprise waiting for BHO? Will this hit squad of the Obamanation's, silence Rev Wright, sue him in Court or otherwise intimidate him?
Why the next thing you know this crack team will be chasing down rumors that the Obamanation is a commie or at the very least a big gov elitist limousine socialist intent on bankrupting the country and destroying our national defenses. Then they'd have to go out and destroy every tape of every speech made by the Obamanation to date. Lots of work to do, so little time.

I am reminded of an utterly obscene but hilarious piece in The Onion from several years back. I won’t link it, but the gist of it was a man who was puzzled, angry, and indignant about why, since he was straight, all these homosexuals kept having sex with him?

How does that Shakespeare quote go: "me thinks he doth protest too much"?

Gertrude: "The lady doth protest too much methinks."

Hamlet: "But she'll keep her word."

113 Pastorius  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 2:38:58pm

#94 PegCity,

Obama is Muslim according to the Islamic definition of who is a Muslim. If one's father is a Muslim, then one is a Muslim. Simple as that.

According to the American definition of who is and is not a Muslim, Obama is not a Muslim. In America, one gets to choose their religion.

If I were a Presidential candidate, and I were under scrutiny and being criticized for my affiliation with an intolerant religion like Islam (is there any religion like Islam?) I would certainly clarify whether or not I was indeed a Muslim.

Why?

Because, it is an American statement about Freedom.

If Muslims say I am a Muslim, and I say I am not, I would want everyone to know that I am an American, and I get to choose my religion, and I have chosen NOT TO BE A MUSLIM.

Wouldn't you feel that way?

re: #114 USBeast

Holy cow, that's a really old show.
I remember the name of the show, not the character.

116 Pastorius  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 2:45:08pm

I remember Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda. That's one of the more interesting character ideas in the history of sitcoms.

I vaguely remember the show, I spent most of the time chasing girls then.

re: #71 karmic_inquisitor

Isn't the term "War Room" a bit militaristic? Isn't that the sort of 'mindset' that the Obamatons thought they were against?

/Just looking for logical consistency where I expect to find none.

You're right -- they should call it the "Romper Room".

A crack team of cybernauts will form a rapid response internet “war room”

Well.... there better not be any fighting that occurs in there, since fighting isn't allowed in the War Room.

Actual photo of Obama's "cybernaut" team battling untruthy rumors in the InterTubes

Well, that's big let down! As any Avengers fan knows, those aren't Cybernauts. Here's a real photo of one of Obama's Cybernauts capturing one of those pesky rumormongers!

121 Malleus Dei  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 3:12:37pm

Attn: B. Hussein Obama cybernauts:

If I believe that B. Hussein Obama is a Moslem or is unpatriotic, there's nothing you can do about that. Nor is there anything you can do about it if I post online that I believe that. Or that I post that I believe, borrowing from uptopic, that B. Hussein Obama is anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, pro-jihadi, pro-cop-killers, pro-Palestinian, pro-Black Panther, a socialist, Marxist, and utterly naive. Or that I firmly believe that if he somehow gets elected that my family and friends will be far, far less safe from jihadi terror and future Islamic nukes than they are now.

And do you know why you can't do a damned thing about that? The First Amendment, plus the fact that B. Hussein Obama is a public figure. Now I know that you Socialists, er, pardon me, Democrats, have been trying for years to abridge everyone's right to free speech that you don't agree with, but you haven't succeeded yet. God willing, you will never be able to.

Now I have a question for you. What evidence do you have that B. Hussein Obama isn't unpatriotic? And if he isn't unpatriotic, then why didn't he volunteer for military service?

And, no, none of this is about him being black. It's about him being, in my personal opinion, a very dangerous, very naive Left-wing idiot of a geopolitical virgin.

122 mean Gene  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 3:18:04pm

How patriotic can you be when you spend your entire youth outside the USA, then go directly into Ivy League institutions, then find an "in" with Chicago's most racist-America-hating groups so you can use your silver tongue to suck tax money from regular Americans into your own programs?
He only got elected to the US Senate because he ran against a ''carpet bagger."
I'd say the Peter Principle sums up my thinking about where Obama is.....way over his head.

123 Dotcoman  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 3:21:23pm

So which would be more offensive to Barrack Hussein Obama, that an internet rumor starts that he's actually patriotic or that he's a Muslim?

124 itsspideyman  Mon, Jun 9, 2008 3:53:22pm

At least Raquel Welch is on the job! She'll put her best out front! :)
