Well, my advice would be to maintain. A technological fix to a human problem usually bites the technologist.* I believe that it would mark you as just a bitter pill who can't be bothered to argue facts--it would make the idiot diggbats' case for them.

Emotionally, I agree with you, RW. But look--the troll was banned from Digg, and of course it'll be back, but for now, we're one up with the power behind Digg. It seems to me that the right answer when you have no power is to play by the powerful guy's rules. Either that, or simply don't play at all--walk away. The only real power we have at Digg is mass outrage. This translates into an annoyance factor that we need to make sure is not simply troublesome. Squeaky wheel, and so forth. The folks at Digg, no matter how leftist they may be inclined, work hard to keep up a very public website. There's good public and there's bad public. Of course, we should remain good public. What we did with this post actually makes their jobs easier, same as the Obama website. Re-directing will just make us one of the problems to be dealt with.

I recall that the powers that be at Digg had classified LGF as a news aggregator, a site that posts news articles from other sites. They were trying to keep these type of sites off the front page because they were having problems with people posting articles on their blogs then digging them in order to create traffic at their blog pages. At least that was their excuse.
This was in an article about a company that you can hire to get your web page enough diggs to get it on the front page.

I second that.That's another reason why it is pointless to debate/talk to moon/diggbats. The vulgarity that they spew in conversation is quite obscene. I try to watch my language when posting..but it just blows my mind how they can write the vilest filth on signs and parade around (in front of children no less).

The system is definitely gamed by its own admin. I had a series of "front page" stories, then suddenly everything I submitted was buried in a matter of minutes, no matter haw many diggs it had. Check out digger "Admiral Adama"; prolific and popular, and then suddenly everything he submitted was buried. Carnival game operators have more integrity than digg admin.
