al-Guardian and some "Palestinians" in a rare moment of truth and clarity, with a couple of delicious money quotes:

A secret fresh start: former Palestinian collaborators forge new life in Israel

Samir is not his real name, for this heavy-set, 52-year-old Palestinian is scared to reveal his true identity. This is his fresh start, his reward after working for more than 20 years in secret in his native Gaza as a collaborator with the Israeli security forces. "I don't regret any of my story," he said. "I'm very happy that I helped the state of Israel. Here everything is straightforward, not like with the Arabs. Here there is a law and there are rights.

(....)

"When the Israelis ruled Gaza people lived like kings," said the man, who is aged 58. Like other Palestinians here he takes a hard line on Gaza, saying only a major Israeli invasion will halt the rockets. "Only when the army go into Gaza can they finish it," he said. He accepts now his life is in Israel, where he boasts of his children's good school grades and his large Mercedes car. He too understands he can never go back to Gaza. "They would make a kebab out of me," he said. "They'd chop me into pieces."

Advice...don't get acoustic. It won't sound like he wants to. There are some great guitar and amp starter kits out there and the electrics are much easier to play since the strings can be a lighter gauge and sit closer to the fret board.

U.S. government helping fund Islamic Saudi Academy

You know the Islamic Saudi Academy: the one that teaches mainstream Islamic concepts such as the killing of apostates and adulterers. Patrick Poole reports in "What Virginia’s Islamic Academy Doesn’t Want You to Know" at Pajamas Media, June 13:

The Bush administration considers the Saudi government to be one of our allies in the War on Terror, and that support extends to the Islamic Saudi Academy as well. Cinnamon Stillwell recently noted an article in the Mount Vernon Gazette that reported 22 soldiers from Ft. Belvoir had recently graduated from the Islamic Saudi Academy’s “Arabic as a Second Language” program. This means that the school is not only being funded by the Saudi government, but also our own government. Deputy Assistant Secretary of The Army Dr. Lynn Heirakuji and the U.S. Army’s Deputy Assistant for Foreign Languages Erol Smith attended the graduation ceremonies.

No doubt we’re all grateful that our government is so adept at identifying who our enemies really are.

Patrick has much more -- about criminal activities going on in the school, and more official indifference. Read it all.

The question that comes to mind, why are our tax dollars paying for this?

I wonder what his 12~ button foot switch does.

Anyone know?

It’s not explained fully at his site since he is using more than two Mesa amplifiers with mics for each bottom cabinets but here is what the advertisement says:

Stiletto Deuce stage II Head and two 2x12 Rectifier Cabinets:

...Assign 2 or all 4 El-34 power tubes to each channel for power ratings of 50 or 100 per channel {one would assume that is 50 to 100 watts RMS}

2 Fully Independent Footswitchable Channels with 6 voicing modes:
Channel 1 features fat clean, Tite clean, or Crunch. Channel 2 features Crunch, tite Gain or fluid drive
. {sp on some of the words}
