Terror-Linked Front Groups Beg Judge to Clear Their Names

Thu, Jun 19, 2008 at 8:34:46 am PDT

There’s the jihad of the sword, and the jihad of the courts, and the ACLU is joining with the legal jihadists again to promote Islamist front groups: Groups Want Names Cleared in Holy Land Case.

They just keep coming back with this stuff, no matter how many times they’re refused. And the way our legal system currently works, eventually they will probably be successful.

Two major Muslim organizations, the North American Islamic Trust and the Islamic Society of North America, are asking a federal judge to rebuke prosecutors for publicly naming the groups as unindicted co-conspirators in a federal criminal case against officers of an alleged Hamas front, the Holy Land Foundation of Richardson, Texas.

In a motion filed yesterday in federal court in Dallas, lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union contend that prosecutors violated the constitutional rights of NAIT and ISNA by branding them as conspirators even though they were not indicted in the case and have not been charged with wrongdoing.

“It is an egregious departure from regular practice,” an ACLU attorney, Hina Shamsi, said in an interview. “The smear happened and the notoriety of our clients as a result has spread and there’s no way they are able to defend themselves.”

In court papers, leaders of NAIT and ISNA said the co-conspirator designation has hampered their relations with law enforcement entities, such as the FBI, and stymied interfaith dialogue with Jewish organizations.

It shouldn’t have taken a co-conspirator designation to wake up the FBI and interfaith groups, of course; these radical Islamic front groups make only token attempts to hide their ideologies.

There is no proceeding to clear their names. It does not exist. What they are doing is hoping to find some judge willing to interject himself in a sham. Maybe these terror groups van find one in Detroit.

I would think reading the koran could do a far better job instead of being labeled an unindicted co-conspirator.

Seriously. And I'd love to see a list of the Jewish organizations with which they've tried to have interfaith dialogues. I bet it's a pretty short list and trying meant they called after hours, got the answering machine, and stopped trying.

25 dahozho  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 8:45:17am

Here in DC, in the Dupont Circle area at least, we have a yearly spring/summer infestation of young adults stationing themselves on sidewalks, trying to part people from their money for lefty 'causes.' Mostly Greenpeace and the DNC. They really get in the way, as the sidewalks are really not that wide. At least the LaRouchies would set up a table that one could just avoid.

However, yesterday they were from the ACLU.

Fair warning, they'll really get a piece of my mind if they try stopping me today.

Its funny to tell the Greenpeace people, "I don't contribute to racist organizations" and then when they start sputtering about how they aren't, respond with "Tell that to the Makah." (The Makah have endured a lot of hateful incidents instigated by Greenpeace & etc. because they take a whale every year for community religious purposes.)

A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today welcomed the filing of an ACLU legal challenge to the government's labeling of two mainstream Muslim organizations as "unindicted co-conspirators" in a terror-related case.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said the government overstepped its constitutional authority when it designated the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) as co-conspirators in the trial of officials of the now-defunct Holy Land Foundation (HLF) in Texas

'A former terrorism prosecutor, Andrew McCarthy, called the dispute 'a tempest in a teapot,' because evidence produced at the Holy Land trial last year supported the placement of the groups on the list. Some exhibits showed $20,000 in payments from NAIT to a man who later became a top Hamas official, Mousa Abu Marzook, and his wife. 'You don't have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt someone's a co-conspirator,' Mr. McCarthy said.'

. Mr. Hussein will sit down and talk to NAIT/Hamas without preconditions.

To be fair, most faiths believe their faith is the one true way, and other faiths are wrong (and really if you believe all faiths are different paths to the same end, why belong to one?).

The difference between Islam and other faiths is how you are treated if you do not accept.

the Neutra Karta.

That's an interesting pairing....

It's an extremely unlikely duo. The funny thing is that their voices blend like they've been doing this all along.

Of course, Alison Krauss has the voice of an angel, and can do anything.

that would've been cool. except it is keeping Plant from touring with Zepplin :-(

He conformed to her style, and not the other way around. I loved it. I also got quite drunk.

I'm here. Just got up a bit ago. I went to the Alison Kraus / Robert Plant concert last night at Ravinia.

That must have been great, I like Alison & Robert.

"Interfaith dialogue" - is that a euphemism for suicide bombings?

To be fair, most faiths believe their faith is the one true way, and other faiths are wrong (and really if you believe all faiths are different paths to the same end, why belong to one?).

The difference between Islam and other faiths is how you are treated if you do not accept.

That's quite a mind rebuke you receive as you leave islam.

It was amazing. And of course the setting is absolultely lovely. People picnic on the lawn, they bring table settings and fresh flowers and candles and wine and cheese - and have supper to the music.

it is really incredible how committed these 'soft jihadis' are. tho they aren't cutting heads literally they are quite damaging to our country and are clearing the way for the killers to come in.
when these moslem groups gain any ground, they hold it like any terrorist, on the actual battle filed . our laws and traditions make it too easy for them.
it is a real dilemma.
it is like having a treatable disease and doing nothing.
just watching it get worse.

Hmmmmmm.... Hamas letting Israel do its dirty work for them?

Dughmush's death pleases both Fatah, Hamas

Many Fatah and Hamas activists in the Gaza Strip have expressed relief over the death of Mu'taz Dughmush, one of the commanders of the Army of Islam terrorist group, who was killed by an IAF strike on his vehicle Tuesday.

Rumors in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday had it that Mu'taz had been killed as part of the Egyptian-brokered cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel. According to the rumors, Hamas, which was desperate to get rid of the Army of Islam, decided to "give away" Mu'taz as a sign of the movement's seriousness in striking a deal with Israel.

True, it was years of in depth investigation resulted in their classification as unindicted co-conspirators.

More relevant, apparently, is the inconvenience to them in putting the false flag of reason on their petard - and an impediment in their strategy of sharia creep.

Therefore, "we don't like it, make it go away" should override the evidence in hand.

AP's idea of being able to rewrite stories with no free fact checking possible would make it even better for North American Islamic Trust and the Islamic Society of North America.
Just think.
AP could go back through all of it's older articles where the term, "unindicted co-conspirator," appeared and CHANGE it, erase it.
Why wait for History books to perform Marxist Revisionism?

and the ACLU should be granted that vaunted "unindicted co-conspirator label as well. At the risk of being deleted on banned I think it's time to play with the ACLU on a different playing field...they use our own laws and constitution against us...time to ban the ACLU!

These are criminal organizations and should remain so named.

It is time for the govt to stand up to these organization and say NO.
