Video: World's Craziest Dictator on Al Jazeera

Thu, Jun 19, 2008 at 11:47:13 am PDT

The Colonel put on his weird pseudo-military outfit for this speech praising Barack Obama, broadcast June 11th on Al Jazeera (the terrorists’ favorite satellite channel). But somebody should let FightTheSmears.com know, because Colonel Gaddafi has obviously been receiving those right-wing emails too; he seems to believe Obama is a Muslim, and he’s spreading this smear to the entire Islamic world. (Courtesy of MEMRI TV.)

Click picture to play video. Requires Windows Media Player; Mac users should install Flip4Mac.

Mu’ammar Al-Qadhafi: It has been proven that there is no democracy in [the U.S.]. Rather, it is a dictatorship no different than the dictatorships of Hitler, Napoleon, Mussolini, Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, and the rest of the tyrants. In the days of crazy Reagan, the American president issued a presidential order to launch a war against Libya, for example, a presidential order to besiege Libya, a presidential order to boycott Libya, and so on. Is this a democracy or a dictatorship?

[...]

There are elections in America now. Along came a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia. His name is Obama. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency. But we were taken by surprise when our African Kenyan brother, who is an American national, made statements that shocked all his supporters in the Arab world, in Africa, and in the Islamic world. We hope that this is merely an elections “clearance sale,” as they say in Egypt – in other words, merely an elections lie. As you know, this is the farce of elections – a person lies and lies to people, just so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him: :“You promised this and that,” he says: “No, this was just elections propaganda.” This is the farce of democracy for you. He says: “This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I was fooling you to get your votes.”
Allah willing, it will turn out that this was merely elections propaganda. Obama said he would turn Jerusalem into the eternal capital of the Israelis. This indicates that our brother Obama is ignorant of international politics, and is not familiar with the Middle East conflict.

[...]

We thought he would say: “I have decided that if I win, I will monitor the Dimona nuclear plant, and the other WMDs in Israeli’s possession.” We expected him to make such a decision. He undoubtedly had this in mind. When he talked about Iran and its nuclear program, he undoubtedly had Dimona in mind. But when he was thinking about Dimona, he undoubtedly had the fate of former president Kennedy on his mind as well. Kennedy decided to monitor the Dimona nuclear plant. He insisted on doing so, in order to determine whether or not it produces nuclear weapons. The Israelis refused, but he insisted. This crisis was resolved with the resignation of Ben-Gurion. He resigned so he would not have to agree to the monitoring of the Dimona plant, and he gave the green light for the killing of Kennedy. Kennedy was killed because he insisted on the monitoring of the Dimona plant. This image was undoubtedly on Obama’s mind. He undoubtedly wanted to talk about this, but decided not to.

[...]

We expected him to say: “If I win, I will implement the one-state solution – the ”Isratine“ which appears in Qadhafi’s White Book.” This idea constitutes the final, deep-rooted, and historic solution. It is impossible to establish two midget-states in this area. What kind of country is only 15 km deep? The so-called Israel is only 15 km deep. What kind of a country is this?
There are five million Palestinians there. We expected Obama to say: “I’ve decided to return millions of Palestinian refugees to the land of Palestine, from which they were expelled in 1948 and 1967.” This is the “change” that the peoples applaud, the change that the American people – and the black people in America – want.

We expected him to say: “I will strive for the independence and unity of the Kurdish nation. This nation must take its place under the sun in the Middle East.” The Kurdish nation is torn apart, tormented, and persecuted, and is colonized by everyone. He should have supported it, instead of supporting the collaborators, while sacrificing the future of the Kurdish nation. This is “change.”

[...]

The thing we fear most is that the black man suffers from an inferiority complex. This is dangerous. If our brother Obama feels that because he is black he doesn’t have the right to rule America, this would be a disaster, because such a feeling would make him behave whiter than the white, and go to an extreme in his persecution and degradation of the blacks.

[...]

We say to him: Brother, the whites and blacks in America are equal. They are all immigrants. America belongs neither to the whites nor to the blacks. America belongs to its original inhabitants, the Indians. Both the whites and the blacks immigrated to America, and so they are equal, and Obama has the right to hold his head high, and say: “I am a partner in America. This is my land as much as it is yours. If it is not my land, it is not yours either. It is the land of the Indians. You are immigrants, and so are we.”

[...]

We still hope that this black man will take pride in his African and Islamic identity, and in his faith, and that [he will know] that he has rights in America, and that he will change America from evil to good, and that America will establish relations that will serve it well with other peoples, especially the Arabs.

Critics are calling for the resignation of a U.N. official who publicly supports investigating theories that the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were an "inside job."

Richard Falk, the special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, investigates alleged Israeli violations of human rights law for the U.N.'s Human Rights Council.

GENEVA: Muslim countries have won a battle to prevent Islam from being criticised during debates by the UN Human Rights Council. Religions deserve special protection because any debate about faith is bound to be “very complex, very sensitive and very intense”, council President Doru-Romulus Costea said Wednesday.

Scholars: Only religious scholars should be allowed to discuss matters of faith, he told journalists in Geneva.

Couldn't help notice this, from his speech:
"... and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency. "

So - has the BHO campaign got contributions from Gaddhafi then, amongst others?
Shouldn't that be investigated?

YES

That is excellent - and in a very weird way Gadhafi (or however his name is spelled) has a very good point with which to bat the other Arabs round their heads in regard to Israel, the borders of 1967, anda palestinian state.

/WTF?

112 Catttt  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 12:29:18pm
As you know, this is the farce of elections – a person lies and lies to people, just so that they will vote for him, and afterwards, when they say to him: “You promised this and that,” he says: “No, this was just elections propaganda.” This is the farce of democracy for you. He says: “This was propaganda, and you thought I was being serious. I was fooling you to get your votes.”

Wow. I agree with something Colonel G. said.

It's been said before and it'll have to be said many times again. No matter what Obama says about his own faith and no matter what he actually believes, to the Muslim world he will always be a Muslim, and I expect, to many, an apostate Muslim, with all the implications that carries.

If Gaddafi makes a stab at mindreading what in Obama's mind, I too will take a guess that the reason Obama isn't interested in drilling for oil here is that it might shove him off the arab gravy train and hinder a lot of promises that if we were supplying our own oil, we wouldn't be held hostage to arab demands and extortions.

143 stuiec  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 3:07:47pm

Gaddafi seems to be right about Obama and "clearance sale" campaign promises: 'Overheated and Amplified'

In an interview with Fortune to be featured in the magazine's upcoming issue, the presumptive Democratic nominee backed off his harshest attacks on the free trade agreement and indicated he didn't want to unilaterally reopen negotiations on NAFTA.

"Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified," he conceded, after I reminded him that he had called NAFTA "devastating" and "a big mistake," despite nonpartisan studies concluding that the trade zone has had a mild, positive effect on the U.S. economy.

Does that mean his rhetoric was overheated and amplified? "Politicians are always guilty of that, and I don't exempt myself," he answered.

151 lifeofthemind  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 7:28:23pm

It and the bit from Damascus on the other Arabs are like random speeches from Mel Brooks movies. His "mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening through a cosmic vapor of invention." But he may be on to something. It is hard for people in functional societies to remember that sometimes everyone is wrong and the crooks and psychopaths can explain why the other guy is no damn good without that making anyone else innocent. This conflicts with our deepest religious and moral sensibilities and legalistic impulses. We want to find a singular guilty party and use the ritual of pronouncing that party responsible to absolve others. Ghaddafi looks around a room full of thugs and says you are all liars, hypocrites and fools, we hate each other and we have dealt cynically and dishonestly with the Palestinians. He is right of course. That does not mean that the failure of the arabs to make peace with Israel in 1948 justifies any further bloodshed. The responsibility for the failures of Islamic societies is still theirs. They own the problem and when they become a threat to others then they must suffer the consequences.

Personally I would take the oil from them and then flood their countries with missionaries, social workers and guidance counselors. Not only would that be a savage punishment for the pain they have inflicted on the world but it would help clear out thousands of whining complainers who drag down western economies on the public tab.

Egad, that part is actually true. About the condition of the Kurds I mean, not about expecting Obama to do anything more than bloviate BS.

155 EE  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 8:15:54pm

A Muslim friend and neighbor pointed out that if a person is born to a Muslim father, then that person is regarded by the Muslim world as a Muslim, regardless of what the person says.

That may explain why Qadaffy referred to Barack Hussein Obama as a Muslim.

It's the fact that his father was a Muslim that counts, not the fact that his step-father was a Muslim, and not the fact that he registered in school as a Muslim, and not the fact that he took lessons in memorizing the Quran in Arabic, and not the fact that his middle name is Hussein. It's the paternal blood line that counts. And that makes him a Muslim in the eyes of the Muslim world, at birth and forever.

156 winston06  Thu, Jun 19, 2008 8:22:40pm
