You don't want to be descended from cats. Watch Red Dwarf if they are still playing it on TV anywhere...it used to be on PBS in Houston, with all the other Brit comedies.

That was a great show. The cat (looked like a metrosexual with fangs) was what a cat would be like if it were people size. It had to play with its food - throwing a piece of chicken around so it could catch it before eating it.
If the show is on, watch it.

Along the same vein, I've done a lot of reading on Edgar Allen Poe, he fascinates me. He was not well liked while living and all he wanted was recognition. Bet he would be thrilled to know a football team was named after one of his creations.

Army ‘vacuum’ missile hits Taliban

British forces in Afghanistan have used one of the world’s most deadly and controversial missiles to fight the Taliban.

Apache attack helicopters have fired the thermobaric weapons against fighters in buildings and caves, to create a pressure wave which sucks the air out of victims, shreds their internal organs and crushes their bodies.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has admitted to the use of the weapons, condemned by human rights groups as “brutal”, on several occasions, including against a cave complex.

The use of the Hellfire AGM-114N weapons has been deemed so successful they will now be fired from RAF Reaper unmanned drones controlled by “pilots” at Creech air force base in Nevada, an MoD spokesman added.

In the modern media world, there's really no way for someone to be quite the star that Twain was to the 19th Century. Twain's standard is one that a lot of American writers aspire to, though. If you were somehow able to combine the literary talents of Garrison Keillor and P.J. O'Rourke, you'd get fairly close.

Redheads are an anesthesiologists worst nightmare.

That could explain why I woke up during foot surgery. The docs were cracking jokes. I laughed, then noticed that the cute little Chinese anesthesiologist was hovering over me, watching me like a hawk. Luckily, he didn't knock me out again.

I live in an area that trends toward redneck. Sometimes we see things and have to say - you might be a redneck. For instance, at the church across the street we had a funeral procession a few days ago. Not so odd you say? It was made up entirely of tractors.

I'd file that with "if you've ever burped while delivering a eulogy", yeah.

Yeah, unfortunately, there hasn't been a real big demand for artillery lately. But there is a big demand for infantry. So a lot of MOS's, Military Police, Artillery, and ADA, for example, are doing traditional infantry missions. Before you get too worried, either MOS is a good way to go, and I always felt safer as an infantry officer walking "the mean streets" than I would as some sort of logistical support type out on the road ferrying supplies. At least the guys I am surrounded by are trained killers and know how to react on contact. Artillery, scouts, they are all combat arms types and react well in combat. I think your son will be fine. Now if only he can get himself into the 101st...

I have a couple friends who are MPs, definitely good guys...however, I have a funny story about MPs, purely anecdotal, and not meant to paint the entire branch with a broad stroke. JRTC rotation in early 2002...I was a 2LT infantry platoon leader. My platoon was tasked with perimeter security for the Brigade TOC. One day near the end of 21 days in the box, we came under attack. My platoon returned fire, I sprinted from hole to hole, adjusting fires and what not. As I was adjusting one of our 240s, an MP humvee with a turret mounted 249 rolled out the gate. It was outside the wire, no more than 200 meters away when it was overwhelmed by insurgents and stolen by insurgents. They went out there alone, I couldn't believe my eyes. No coordination or anything. Well long story slightly shorter, we took out the humvee with an AT4. MPs, man, you gotta love em.

re: #90 Behead Me Bob

Redheads are an anesthesiologists worst nightmare.

Please elaborate!

I've read that redheads experience more pain and need stronger pain medication. This is certainly true in my case.

Every time I see a new dentist in my regular dentist's practice for a dental emergency (he employs a few dentists), I tell him (or her) that I need extra freezing. Every time, they don't believe me. They give me one needle, then leave me alone for 10 minutes, come back and start working. I scream, they give me a second needle, go away, come back and start working. I moan and gesticulate wildly, they finally bring out the mega-dose, sock it to me, give me 10 more minutes, then finally start working.

It always takes the first experience of them wasting 30 precious minutes before they'll believe me. The second time, they give me all the freezing that'll fit in the first needle.

The dentist who owns the practice knows me best. He freezes my entire face (and it stays that way for about four hours) for any work. Even my nose and forehead are frozen. He's the best.

I don't respond well to adrenaline, either. It's in large red letters on the front of my file and each new dentist gives me adrenaline in my freezing. I react badly to a tiny amount of adrenaline.

I dread having to use my Epi-pen (although I will if I need it). One dentist told me that, if I have to use the Epi-pen: "It'll save your life but you'll probably have a heart attack."

I hope he was wrong about the heart attack!

BTW...if your son decides to take college classes while in the military, ensure he uses tuition assistance (TA) while on active duty. It is free money. Well, not free, its tax money, but it won't cut into his GI Bill. TA is not advertised so much, so I want to point that out to you. Also, congratulations to your son, the army is not the easiest job out there, but it is a good one. I've done two rotations in Iraq so far, I've come back unscathed both times.

Furthermore I'm not surprised that the BHO campaign is passing out fake "homemade" signs.

But then I remember the Soviets would stage demonstrations with schoolchildren in Moscow protesting the deployment of US/NATO nuclear weapons in Europe.

How about Saddam Hussein's "spontaneous" parades protesting the deaths of innocent babies "because of UN sanctions"?

Or the "spontaneous" protests against the Mohammed cartoons?

Lemme tell ya man. During DS the medevacs were sittin' on our asses, then they swapped us over to triage/transport of EPWs. We were effing steppin and fetchin'! When we dusted Falaka Island we had a load of MP goons in the first bird after the Kiowas , they cleared the LZ. Glad they were there. Then we were assigned to a clearing company and we converted to a 5 man flight crew (1 MP) to taxi EPWs to the tx CASH in the middle of the desert. Ya gotta love the wreckless disregard for their own safety!

Well, I convinced my boy who is joining the Army to go in as a 13B (Artillery) instead of a 19D (Recon Scout).....whatever keeps him from the mean streets of Falluja works with me.

shoot-N-scoot

Well my fellow american..my son just returned from falluja as a squad leader of the 3/5 marines, kilo company, first platoon...
Shout out to sgt. howe that kept our son safe for 7 months.
He is going to be deployed again in jan.
Our whole family..was on hand when the 3/5th marines returned to Camp pendleton..It was really a great scene..3:30am and thousands of people screaming like a colts game.
They Colonal guy or whoever was the main dude got on a mic and said that the 3/5 marines did not suffer a single casuality and everyone that departed from you has returned to you at this paradeground.. The cheering was deafening and we hugged out jordan all night..
BTW.. there is no army anywhere near falluja.. it is strickly owned by the marines..Also.. My son introduced me to this marine that got the bronze star given to him in person by Bush..
what an honor..He is already out of the marines but came to camp p to see his friends came home..I'll email jordan but i can't remember his name.. He carried a bunch of marines to safety under fire during the original falluja firefight..I got about 10 pictures taken with him...

This has probably been posted on some previous thread, but bears greater exposure.

And let me remind you of the “Media Statement” that Tiger put out years ago. He did this in order to “explain my heritage.” And he said it would be “the final and only comment I will make regarding the issue”:

My parents have taught me to always be proud of my ethnic background. Please rest assured that is, and always will be, the case . . . On my father’s side, I am African-American. On my mother’s side, I am Thai. Truthfully, I feel very fortunate, and EQUALLY PROUD, to be both African-American and Asian!

The critical and fundamental point is that ethnic background and/or composition should NOT make a difference. It does NOT make a difference to me. The bottom line is that I am an American . . . and proud of it! That is who I am and what I am. Now, with your cooperation, I hope I can just be a golfer and a human being.

When I was in elementary school, one of my classmates had bright red hair and so did all of her brothers and sisters! I never met her parents but I'm guessing they must have had red hair, as well.

I didn't notice the hooked noses in the Harry Potter books. Who had them?

(My husband read most of the Harry Potter books aloud to our daughter and I listened in.)

Anybody Rowling didn't like. I've been on an HP chat for 4 years and we all winced at that bit about tears dropping off Snape's "hooked nose".

The first thing that came to mind was to suggest that you send a copy of the 25 point program of the NSDAP and suggest that they compare it to their own party's platform.

But that would go over their heads.

solomonpanting (#261),

The critical and fundamental point is that ethnic background and/or composition should NOT make a difference. It does NOT make a difference to me. The bottom line is that I am an American . . . and proud of it! That is who I am and what I am. Now, with your cooperation, I hope I can just be a golfer(politician) and a human being.

{loppyd} Darling girl! *mwah*

Not much new and exciting except I've finally solved Lil Miss' awful allergy problem. The poor thing. I'd come home from work to find monster clumps of her fur on the carpet and she'd hide under the ugly sofa whimpering because her skin was raw, itchy and tacky to the touch not to mention hot as hades.

Not. One. Bad. Scratch. This. Year.

And her fur is luxurious, her eyes are brighter, she's loaded with energy and she's an all-round happier yorkie that she was a year ago.

The vast majority of the fans loved HPDH, but a minority of us were disappointed. Rowling was totally enamored of Harry by then to the point of identifying him with her husband and it showed. The moral standing of characters seemed to depend on how much they Loved Harry. Snape acted very heroically over that last year at HW but was treated like roadkill. Dumbledore turned out to have size 15 feet of clay but all was forgiven when he shed a tear and told Harry how wonderful he was.

Basically, we were being totally obsessively picky...

Well, here's a start: If it's not okay to shop at Wal-Mart, it's not okay to shop at any transnational chain (my aunt and uncle are big Costco shoppers; fucking hypocrites). AIDS and breast cancer will be cured if there's a Democrat in the White House? Then why didn't Clinton find cures? Little Caitlin's class size is too big? Blame the liberal SCOTUS justices who decided that American taxpayers have to pick up the tab for illegal aliens' education (Plyler v Doe). Separate but equal? Ever hear of Brown v Board of Education? And wasn't it a Republican (Eisenhower) who issued an executive order to desegregate the public schools?

Ah, what's the use?

I was working at a place that was having some paving done. Everyone who does work on the property has to be drug tested. The paving crew shows up, get told they are to be drug tested and one by one they file through for their tests. After the samples are taken, they begin to work. After about an hour, the HR/Workplace Safety guy comes out of his office with a clipboard. I'm watching. He goes outside and starts calling off names of people who failed. He calls out the names of the entire paving crew including the foreman. The paving was delayed about a week.

(My wireless connection went blooey and I got kicked off.) I was going to say that I think you are right about approaching my BIL and kicking him off the highground.
I handle these things by going through my sister, but for all I know.....well, in all likelihood....she asks him to stop it "in the interests of family peace," but with a connotation that Mr. Wolf and I have to be humored in our little bitter, clingy prejudices.
It's worked so far, in that he hasn't sent them anything political again. (yet?)
But it's not enough.

BTW, I never told Mr Wolf because ...well, you know dogs. They are sweet as can be....unless you threaten the family or invade their territory.

re: #359 Miss Trixie

Thanks, Miss Trixie!

I assume you're still in Ottawa because of your work, then?

We spent the summer there in '98 or '99 and it was great. We stayed in a very nice condo downtown so almost everything was within walking distance. (Including McDonald's and Baskin-Robbins for the kiddie, the Parliament Buildings and the Sparks Street Mall.)

It's a great city for families: there's the Museum of Science and Technology, the Nature Museum, the Museum of Civilization (across the bridge in Hull, Quebec), the Art Gallery, the Canadian War Museum, the Royal Canadian Mint and the Currency Museum.

The local school/community centre had some great, low-cost programs. I had fun visiting the bead stores. There were a few excellent second-hand book stores, too.

We saw the Cirque Parasol in Quebec, too. My daughter tried the stilts and other fun circus things. I still have their poster; I love it.

If not for the extremely cold winters, my husband and I would have moved to Ottawa in a heartbeat. Oh, well, we stayed in Toronto instead, for good or for bad.

re: #536 The Shadow Do

Thanks Miss Trix. Gonna try it. She used to have a beautiful thick coat. now gone. Have done all the vet stuff - blood work done, various pills and potions, etc., etc. She is just one unhappy puppy and maybe this will work?

Vets and all their $$$ machinations - all well intentioned - don't work. Dogs have allergies because of the additives in processed food that have the nutirent value completely cooked out in the factories. Dinovite replaces, enhances and heals your animal from the inside out and the results are amazing. I started Lil Miss last November and by Christmas, I had an entirely new yorkie. Happy, smelling a whole lot better and her gloriously soft fur returned. Not to mention she slept a lot better since she didn't spend the night scratching herself raw.

I also changed her diet - THANKS MAMAWINGER - and she gets no factory food. Mixture of freshly cooked beef mixed with vegs, potatoes and broth cooked in batches then frozen in ziplockers. I mix some of Dinovite with a little olive oil or water with her beef dinner and she's a happy camper. Give it shot - really.

The convergence of wealth and the Left is interesting indeed. We live in strange times. I wonder if anyone thinks about their self-interests these days. Liberals and the politically correct suck up to Islamists, who would love nothing more than to kill their beliefs off, if not kill them outright. Many of the rich, out of noblesse oblige or because they are nouveau riche and still young and think they are hip, give to a candidate who promises to reduce their wealth. The poor (except for poor white "Appalachians") think they'll get a great deal with Obama. I wonder what poor African-Americans will say when the man they vote for further opens the borders so that they have to compete even more with illegal immigrants for low-wage jobs. Yeah, McCain sucks on immigration, but at least he's now under pressure from sane Republicans who value law and order to moderate his open-borders stance. Obama? No such restraint.

Insane times. Republicans and moderates who are not nihilists will vote for McCain not because he is the best man they can imagine but because they will be acting in their own self-interest. Liberals will vote for their messiah, who has a great media and money advantage thanks to an adoring media seeking a rock star messiah and misguided wealthy liberals with a huge guilt complex, even though, ultimately, their Obamessiah's policies will not help them one iota and will probably hurt them.

I know there's a ban on AP stories but this is just too good to pass on.

Everything seemingly is spinning out of control

By ALAN FRAM and EILEEN PUTMAN, Associated Press Writers.

Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.

The can-do, bootstrap approach embedded in the American psyche is under assault. Eroding it is a dour powerlessness that is chipping away at the country's sturdy conviction that destiny can be commanded with sheer courage and perseverance.

This is what passes as "news" for the AP?

No wonder they're trying to shake down bloggers for lunch money.

From an op/ed in the Washington Post found on RCP:

Michelle Obama is being demonized for things she allegedly said on tapes that are rumored to exist. She is a victim of sexism and racial stereotypes.

There is a grain of truth to the false demonization on the "whitey" tape issue, I can grant that. How does this statement stand up against all the other whoppers?

-For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country
-America is "down right mean"
-deflecting criticism by saying "you know, this doesn't help my kids"
-talking about her meal ticket husband as if he is a god, or at least god on earth; "Barack won't let you continue living your lives as usual..."

Sure...must be my racist and sexist mind.

Obama's lack of understanding of our culture will be his undoing.

Notice three things. (1) Obama has been getting bigger donations from these big contributors. (2) Both candidates have gotten large contributions from companies, and - an old phenomenon (kind of a playing both sides and hedging bets) - some individual companies have made large contributions to both candidates, but they have been bigger to Obama (reflecting either their calculation that Obama will win or desire that Obama will win or both). (3) What are universities, even public universities like the University of California, doing giving to presidential candidates and why are all the large university contributions going only to Obama?

There is something rotten in Denmark.

See the fine print on the link:

This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2008 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

This helps flesh it out.

How many mosques can 1.3 trillion dollars build?

The oil-rich Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are projected to earn close to 1.3 trillion dollars in oil revenue in 2008 and 2009, a Kuwaiti economic report said on Saturday.

The six-nation alliance -- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia -- earned 364 billion dollars from oil in 2007, the Al-Shall Economic Consultants said in its weekly report.

The GCC oil revenues are projected to reach 636 billion dollars in 2008 and 657 billion dollars in 2009, Al-Shall said.

Oil powerhouse Saudi Arabia's earnings in the two years will be just under 700 billion dollars. The kingdom posted 194 billion dollars in oil revenues in 2007.

AN OBAMA FANTASY

Oval Office, June 2010

SECRETARY OF STATE JIMMY CARTER:
Mr. President, I must tell you my unusual idea. You ran your campaign as a champion of change and creativity...Mr. President, what if we gave Hawaii to Iran, as an incentive to settle these matters with us?

PRESIDENT OBAMA:
That's brilliant Jimmy. You know, when I appointed you, the Jewish community got very upset. But I think we're OK with this decision...there are no Jews in Hawaii!

CHIEF OF STAFF MICHAEL MOORE:
Mr. President, I think there are Jews in Hawaii.

PRESIDENT OBAMA:
Oh.
Still, I like the idea. Hillary, what do you think?

VICE PRESIDENT HILLARY:
I'm feeling sick.

PRESIDENT OBAMA:
Feel better Hillary.
[to Jimmy:] Didn't she get sick the other day when I gave Hezbollah those interest-free loans? Hmm. Probably menopausal mood swings.
Honey, YOU decide.

FIRST LADY:
Couldn't we just give them Texas? Or Colorado...nah, I love the Rockies...
Texas then!

SECRETARY OF STATE JIMMY CARTER:
You gave Texas back to Mexico.

FIRST LADY:
Oh.

VICE PRESIDENT HILLARY:

Thanks for the post and link!
(I meant to say that earlier!)

If you look at the stats on the Open Secrets site under donor demographics, there is no doubt that Obama gets a much bigger percentage of his total contributions from small donors, but since he has raised well over 3 times more than McCain so far, his numbers across the board are bigger. So Obama has had a lot more big contributions and a lot, lot more small contributions. Obama has gotten a more money in every category from every "demographic" class of donor than McCain.

Maybe Obama needed it more up to now having been in that most amusing battle with Hillary, which already seems ancient history, but one wonders will all of this be the same. Hillary is working now to get Obama access to her big donors. Obama is salivating to tap into Hillary's donors. This implies that Obama knows that he needs more big money and can't rely on small contributions alone. Looking at the stats so far, he has nothing to worry about.

It's sick the amount of money wasted on presidential circuses. It is even more sick the amount of money going to Obama, a man with virtually no record who is going to set a record for amount of money spent on a presidential campaign. Just imagine the other useful and productive ways all of that propaganda money could have been spent. Obama is a player, no doubt about it. He is a player with no heart, soul or vision. He is not even a liberal. He is just a money-raising machine who will live on, whether he wins or loses, in a Che Guavara-esque T-shirt and poster market.

I thought that was a safety feature. I actually like double action on a semi-auto. My Taurus has a double action, but other than "firing" snap caps at television figures for practice, I don't really have a use for it. But it serves its purpose on a piece with no external hammer.

I think I'll take both to the range tomorrow.

Speaking of, I've had a problem with the PPK. It was not chambering the next round fully. It may have been that I cleaned the weapon too much, and I didn't have enough lubrication once it heated up. I stripped it and oiled the rail a little better and will check out tomorrow. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

"They ain't happy about him backing out of his agreement to take federal funds for the GE." Boy is that ever an understatement. I really think that helps McCain out for two BIG reasons:
a) McCain looks like (and is) the "cleaner candidate"
b) Obama is gonna raise a ton of money, leading to the perhaps correct charge that he's not about change, he's just trying to buy the damned election.
Those "moderates" in the Dem party don't like that move by him at all. I've talked to at least half a cozen or so and they've all said the same thing: being the first presidential candidate to turn down public funding in like 30 years or so is just WRONG - and McCain's "Trust" numbers keep climbing WAAY above Obama's in the polls.

As I said good buddy, a great investment, monetarily and for pleasure, too!

It's absolutely fun to drive to work, but that little rain I went through started with a massive headwind just as I was crossing a high bridge on the Mississippi - and I was wearing the dorky, half-helmet. Debris from the road pelted me in the face and the wind whipped me back and forth. The bike nearly came out from under me at one point.

Ciaospirit, I read that remark Obama made about the evil Conservatives, and how they are going to smear him by calling attention to his age, his inexperience, his unusual name and of course the fact that he is black.Seems to me the only person bringing up the fact that he is black is Obama himself. Pretty clever of him to gloss over the first two things and emphasize his race.I don't care if he was green, what frightens me is how completely unqualified he is to be POTUS. He isn't qualified to be Senator. scary times indeed!

That caught my attention as well. Especially since public universities get taxpayer funding and shouldn't be giving other people's money to anything but education related expenses.

Most public universities, especially the University of California, now get most of their operating money from non-taxpayer sources. Berkeley is only nominally public and most of its funding is from private sources. They are only partly public. I am sure they are clever enough to have separated their campaign donations from the public funds to their endowment funds. However, it still smacks of the criminal. Whether it is an endowment slush fund or some portion of tuition money or whatever, no university, much less a public university, should be contributing to political candidates.

Anyone?

No problems with my PPK, I keep it very lightly lubricated with graphite and silicone.

I have tremendous faith in the American Voting Public - I really do and when they get into the privacy of that voting booth, I think the issue of which of the two men do you really TRUST is gonna be the overriding issue. I usually use what the range provides, and they're pretty serious about quality. I'm thinking your hunch on the mag spring might be dead on. I detected a little interference from the next round (in that, the next round has moved slightly forward). However, the issue didn't present itself until about eight or nine rounds into firing, so I'm thinking it was a lack of lube, and expanding metal making an issue of itself. My first ten rounds were 3 bulls, 4 - 9s 2 - 8s and one wildly off the mark shot for no reason I could think of. Many of the rest were low and left, and I could only contribute that to getting pissed off about the issues with the slide. I really like shooting the PPK. It's very accurate when I don't have this issue. I'm still having trouble with my aim on the Taurus, but it makes a really loud BOOM, so that's satisfying as well.

'zackly what's a bitch gotta do to get banned, anyway? Some people elsewhere seem to have the impression that Charles is a power-drunk censor who blindly swings the banning stick around like he's at a Mexican birthday party, but I remain firmly unpersuaded that this is the case, and am sticking to my hypothesis that he bans on a case-by-case basis if he judges people to be deliberate troublemakers not worth the tsuris.

Other people have suggested to me that the only way to avoid a ban is to agree with him on every point, jump when he says jump, and in essence, to shove one's tongue a mile up Charles' rectum. (With the implication, I think, that my tongue is already lodged there.) I certainly hope that isn't true, because as people who know me will tell you, I may be incredibly homosexual, but I prefer to stay far away from the What-What thing, in all its varied permutations.

Anyway, Evariste at DL has suggested that I should leave him alone for awhile, go over to LGF, and worship Charles.

Agreed - and ABC is just as bad as the AP. Caught this in an email yesterday:

Subject: Reporting (TWISTING!) the news

My niece, Katelyn, stationed at Baluud , Iraq was assigned, with others of her detachment, to be escort/guard/watcher for Martha Raddatz of ABC News as she covered John McCain's recent trip to Iraq .
Katelyn and her Captain stood directly behind Raddatz as she queried GI's walking past. They kept count of the GI's and you should remember these numbers. She asked 60 GI's who they planned to vote for in November. 54 said John McCain, 4 for Obama and 2 for Hillary.
Katelyn called home and told her Mom and Dad to watch ABC news the next night because she was standing directly behind Raddatz and maybe they'd see her on TV. Mom and Dad of course, called and emailed all the kinfolk to watch the newscast and maybe see Katelyn.
Well, of course, we all watched and what we saw wasn't a glimpse of Katelyn, but got a hell' uva view of skewed news.
After a dissertation on McCain's trip and speech, ABC showed 5 GI's being asked by Raddatz how they were going to vote in November;
3 for Obama and 2 for Clinton . No mention of the 54 for McCain.

I wonder who ABC supports? Oh wait....

re: #740 Typicalwhitey
Well I think it's really good for throwing at someone who's like 20 yards away or so, but I've never been a fan of snub-nosed pistols period and I don't think increasing the power increases your chances of hitting the target at all.
If you're talking about a carry pistol, I'd go for the S&W .40 auto - not as much recoil as you'll get from a .357 magnum snub nose, much more accurate and it still has genuine stopping power.
Course if you're talking about home defense, I'd suggest a shotgun - ANYONE who isn't in a combat environment and is suddenly awakened at home at like 3 AM is gonna be a) a little groggy and b) a lot of scared and I don't care how well you shoot on the range, or whether you have Laser sites or anything like that, you'll be damn lucky to hit what you're aiming at with a pistol at all. Plus sometimes just the sound of the slide action of a pump shotgun will convince the intruder to leave quickly!

Let it goooooooooo, man.

I used to practice karate -- sparring is good practice and fun!

But this particular match with DL is just about over.

Narcissistic types like yourself are normally what's called "moonbats" in here, and I wouldn't think they would enjoy the company very much. Hanging around with the sole intention of annoying others is probably a good way to get tossed out, though, if that's what you're looking for. Or maybe some visualizations that are just slightly more disturbing than you have re-introduced yourself with. Good luck.

Well, I'll check out that thread -- the Ohio Teacher one, right?

Yes- towards the end.

I believe in the notion of "If it's time to bury your guns, it's time to dig them up."

Well, that's a good point, and your probably right. But always keep some key elements buried for the eventual last stand or, more hopefully, the counteroffensive.

/And for those who get agitated, this is theory-talk. Vote the Constitution at every election and this talk will never amount to more than cafe coffee talk.

Whatever. I hate the line about how "fighting on the Internet is like being in the Special Olympics..." because I have developmentally disabled relatives, and it's cruel.

So, instead I'll use "Never try to teach a pig to sing--it wastes your time and annoys the pig."

Feel free to continue to tilt at this particular windmill, though.

If anyone is gonna bury your stash remember to also bury randomly placed scrap iron over the property. They'll get sick of digging up false hits before they get to the real deal. Probably more important on limited acreage.

obama's stand on energy will hurt the poor and working people the most. just because the rich white liberals hate the oil companies so much and love there will of the wisp pipe dreams of no existant altertive energy sources but refuse to support real energy sources like nuke power.

Large diameter pvc pipe. Bury deep. Salt with lots of scrap iron.

Here's one of the mostinteresting photos of Mark Twain I've ever seen.

Twain in Nikola Tesla's laboratory

Apparently Mark Twain was one of the few people that Nikola Tesla considered a close friend.

Anyway, Evariste at DL has suggested that I should leave him alone for awhile ...

Boy did he (although it was considerably less than a psycho like you deserves)! LMAO.

Heh.

Charles, if I had known that you secretly have a thing for redheads I would have registered here a long time ago. ;).

Mark Twain was right, by the way.

Man, I go out of town for the weekend and miss this terrific opportunity to extoll the virtues of the redhead. We are low maintenance (if you keep us out of direct sunlight), we are slow to anger (but when we do....kaboom!), and you can play connect to dots with our freckles!

Hi guys! I know this is the dead thread, but I've been away at the Jersey Shore--staying under an umbrella with 50+ sunscreen because I AM A REDHEAD--and I'm quite sure that Mark Twain was correct about the ancestry.
