At the Official Obama Site: Reactions to the Faux Presidential Seal

Sun, Jun 22, 2008 at 2:45:59 pm PDT

In the official MyBarackObama.com community blogs, some Obamatons were not impressed with Barack Obama’s new logo.

Not to mention his FISA surrender.

Barack Obama : : Change We Can Believe In | Matte Black News: That seal should be buried and called a joke

The ridicule is just rolling in. What were they thinking? Who is driving this bus?

http://blogs.wsj.com...

Barack Obama : : Change We Can Believe In | Sharon Spooner’s Blog: On FISA and ‘seals’

First, that “seal” on display during the Democratic governors’ meeting was pretty lame. Sen. Obama, you know we love you and we’re willing to donate, volunteer and make phone calls on your behalf. But you haven’t been elected president yet, so don’t start acting like it with something that looks like a quasi-presidential seal. (Don’t forget that you’ve still got to get rid of the “elitist” label with some voters.) I’m still hoping that it was a one-time joke. And the “Yes We Can” in Latin reminded me of Hogwarts.

Second, many of your supporters are very disappointed with your statement on the FISA “compromise.” This was no compromise; this was total capitulation. Senator, you taught constitutional law. You KNOW this breaks the Fourth Amendment. Please reconsider voting in favor of this bad law. Then, when you become president and you have a bigger majority in both the House and Senate, you can redo the FISA law with the proper protections. And no immunity.

Apparently not.

The seal will be just one artifact of his defeat.

"That seal should be buried and called a joke" sounds almost like legitimate condemnation, but it's got a hint of Orwellian "Quick, chuck it down the memory hole!" aftertaste.

7 JammieWearingFool  6/22/08 2:49:49 pm reply quote 5

That seal went over very well in some quarters.

If you wanted to emphasize to voters that the Democrats' nominee is a bit stuck up, it would be hard to do better. I suppose he could start requiring reporters to stand when he enters the room. ... The seal probably started out as a bit of fun. But unless David Axelrod is insane, the thing will never be seen again.

When they find a weak "chicken" they peck and peck, and peck, until

And is it just me, or was that seal crooked (askew)?

No, its the guy behind the seal who is crooked.

LOL! Very funny!

I'm trying to cheer up. Was looking at the art style of BO posters and image-googling "lenin", "stalin" just for a goof....

The styles are eerily similar.

Why does everything coming out of this campaign seem like a joke? Except with no laughing.

Like a joke except jokes are funny.

Ha, ha! Neither are dogs!

Pigtown= place in Baltimore where used to be slaughterhouses/ Now half-a-million dollar town houses for University of Maryland.

My grandparents used to laugh at people on Scott Street because their rats were 2x the size of my grandparents (half block away).

Please reconsider voting in favor of this bad law. Then, when you become president and you have a bigger majority in both the House and Senate, you can redo the FISA law with the proper protections

Didn't the SC just grant citizenship priviledges to foreigners? How many more protections does this fellow want?

And if you were a candidate
Barack Obama, called by name
I'd say now who
Who do you think you're foolin'
With that fake Presidential seal
On your faux-presidential podium?
Your campaign is ugly
It's ugly
Each week it seems more deeply-dug-ly
Your promises are schlock
In fact, they are the Schlock of Ages
Ugly ugly ugly ugly

In his position he doesn't need em, so they have whithered to nothing.

avoiding the teacher/i.d. thread like the bubonic plague

the whole subject is not on my to do list.
if you want to teach this subject do it in a private school. my children when to jewish schools to be taught the TORAH. I really would not want this to be taught in public schools. They don't even teach Jewish history in American schools even if it is of a secular nature.

Hate most big cities, but love Baltimore.

Wouldn't want to live there unless I were rich, though.

The whole campaign is sometimes just too surreal for me to absorb.

Sometimes it feels like a political Blair Witch Project.
