Obama Community Blogs Being Sanitized?

The Obama site administrators have been quietly trying to eject the worst moonbats, although it’s curious what they apparently continue to permit.

Here’s a Google cached copy (may be gone by the time you click) of a blog post from Chris in St. Helens, Oregon, with a dramatic exit: Barack Obama : : Change We Can Believe In | Independent support: Really.

This blog was deleted within a day of being posted; the direct link now produces an “invalid page.” So the excuse that they’re not watching is getting pretty thin.

So, having talked with JFKfan for over half an hour last night, I came to a personal decision. As of the end of this posting, I will no longer contribute to the Obama blog.

What started out months ago as a true movement by the people to take back their government has turned into just another campaign. I have seen many ardent supporters yanked from this blog, including JFKfan, Jamaican King, c.K., the list could go on and on. Why? Because they no longer fit the image that the professional “king makers”, who have taken the reins of this campaign, want to portray.

As this campaign goes forward, some of the shine has worn off. People at rallies who may be solid supporters, are shuffled off out of camera range. Monies that were refused to keep the movement purely of the people are now accepted out of political expediency. Statements to special interest groups, which are counter to previous statements, are becoming common.

In short, our little Barack is growing up. This campaign is taking on a dimension that he cannot control himself, so he is hiring “professionals” to run different aspects, this blog being one of them. It is part of the “boiling down” that Obama so proudly resisted in the beginning.

I will still vote for him, there is no question as to that. And the sign in the pasture will remain for all who pass by the farm to see. But I see no point in coming here anymore to sing to the choir or defend our candidate as though I still thought of him as “above it all”. I always knew you couldn’t stay above it all and still be elected President. Not these days. Not for some time.

So, good bye and good luck to all. It’s been a hoot.
