CF:

"Think about that, and weep. Think that there are people out there right now -- people two cars over in traffic, or ahead of you in the check-out counter -- who believe that our government is spraying high-altitude poisons designed to kill us all. That men and women -- thousands of men and women -- go to work every day, refilling the tankers with deadly chemicals, or flying top-secret missions in broad daylight, indiscriminately spraying death down on their drinking buddies, fellow church-goers, co-workers, cousins and wives and children. What kind of person--. Excuse me. I'm sorry. I don't do this often but I just can't continue this calmly:

WHAT THE LIVING HELL IS THE MATTER WITH THESE PEOPLE?!"

The 20th annual Summer Solstice Parade took place today in Fremont, showcasing the funky neighborhood with a highly diverse gathering of people, participants and spectators alike. Same deal here the past couple weeks. Had a monster t-storm barrel though around 11:30 am yesterday, then sunny, another one around 1:30, then sunny again. Managed to avoid any more the rest of the day, though some were nearby.

I have a fairly long north-south drive, so I can see several different weather conditions in the course of half an hour.

Furries...

Dan Savage, the gay sex columnist, is a monumental a-hole, but he did have one great insight about them. He said that he thinks the furry subculture originated with people who hit puberty during the Great Heterosexual AIDS Scare ca. 1987-1992. Savage said that a certain proportion of the population became so terrified by adult sexuality that they unconsciously regressed back to their childhood associations with comfort and sensual pleasure: stuffed animals and animal cartoons. When their libidos became too strong to suppress any more, they just psychologically grafted their sexuality onto this fantasy world of play-beasts, and took on erotic identities as cutified creatures.

It's as good an explanation as any I've ever heard about them.

Hijra are flamboyant transvestites in traditional Hindu culture. They're almost a (very low) caste to themselves.

"Two Spirits" are Native Americans who claim to have the spirits of both genders.

Bantut are Filipino swishers -- famous for being able to easily "pass" as female.

Etc. etc.

re: #87 Dianna

Huge amounts!

It's as if we say, "Sex, yes; intimacy, no." The distancing that people complain of, they practice themselves.

It makes them feel safe, less vulnerable, I guess.
Me? I would feel vulnerable hanging upside down from a ceiling fan while getting spanked, but that's just me.

This reminds me of that scene from Real Men where Jim Belushi's charcter meets the "librarian".

The terrain in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle (home to a statue of Lenin).

Summer Solstice Parade,
Naked Bikers, and a culture obsessed with nudity

A coworker went to the parade and got some pictures that you can see here. Naked moonbats - time for more eye bleach!

Nothing I've ever seen indicates to me that that would feel like anything but an attack. Most B&D and SM is careful about where and how the bottom is struck.

I just don't see how pain and sex mixes. Guess I'm a "prude".

re: #101 Hard Right

You're not a prude. You simply aren't interested, which is absolutely fine. Heck, it's normal.

To say you're a prude would be to dismiss you and your opinions. Don't let people call you a prude!

OK, I'm taking votes.

Should I go to the Trans March 2008 -- or not?

Last year's zombietime report on Trans March 2007 was singularly unpopular. But I see the next one looming as it's just such easy pickin's for wacky photos.

Dilemmas, dilemmas.

Let the voting begin!

Go man, go!

/or go, woman, go!

OK, so far the votes are 12 Yes, 0 No!

Very interesting, considering that last year's report went mostly unnoticed. Everyone wants me to go, but no one wants to actually see the resulting pictures!

We've grown since then.

110 Shug  Mon, Jun 23, 2008 11:50:52am

This is what you might hear when you are in this type of terrain

A Tranny Granny in Lace Panty just to show the world his Fanny (this hip hop stuff is easy).

I vote yes.
