Posted orginally by Clutch

Word to the wise, if you want to last more than a few minutes and be accepted by the lizards, don't come in here with your chest all puffed up, waving your little weenie around and think that you are being clever by dumping a steaming load of troll-poo in Charles' house. You WILL be made to eat it before it is all over, plus a little more. This is a tough bunch o' Lizards, but we also have hearts of gold, so choose wisely what side you want to be on. We've heard all the left-wing talking points before, we are NOT impressed and can't be "converted", so save 'em for HuffPoo or Komrade Kos's Klaven. Act intelligently, don't talk down to us (you have to PROVE yourself, noob, before we will take you seriously and telling us to wise up, grow a brain or any other such nonsense will damage your cred, probably permanently) and just hang with the crowd a bit before you start spoutin' off. Obviously, this does not apply to everyone that joins up, but unless you want Stinky (Mr. Beaumont to you) to wail upside your brainbucket with his extremely heavy and lethal Bannin' Stick, play nice and enjoy your fragile PRIVILEGE to post here. Don't f*ck up or we will f*ck YOU up!

Hatchlings a word to the wise (you'd be wise to take heed).

Read the FAQ, LGF Dictionary, and Nekama's Troll Hammer. Especially read the light green box with 5 bullet points at the top of each thread, understand those 5 points, think of them as the 5 Commandments at LGF.

That said welcome! Clean up your shells and do you hatchling duty and man the bar.

Speaking of doing violence to vermin....

The ants were TAKING OVER my kitchen after I was gone for a weekend. I don't leave food or dirty dishes out, and I don't live on the first floor, so I think they were *eek* coming up from the pipes as the Mississippi backs through the storm drains.

Tried Raid baits. Didn't work. Last night I put out the old-fashioned Terro liquid on little strips of waxed paper. The ants went nuts--they were SWIMMING in the stuff.

Today, I only have seen a few ants. I have felt a great disturbance in the Ant Force, as if thousands of souls cried out in terror, and were silent. Borax will do that to you.

Heh :)

Holders of Ron Paul 'Liberty' coins file suit in Idaho court

Twelve people from around the country have filed suit in a federal court in Idaho to force the government to return their Liberty dollar coins to them.

The coins were being held in a Sunshine Mint warehouse in Coeur d’Alene. Federal agents seized them in a raid last November.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.'

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!.'

Democrat party ethics in WA State.
Democrats Give $10K to Walser Following Guilty Plea

The Senate Democratic Campaign Committee gave former Sultan Police Chief Fred Walser the tidy sum of $10,000 for his campaign on June 17, almost two weeks after he pled guilty to providing false information and was sentenced to one year in jail.

The obvious question is: if you're a Democrat on the ballot, what do you have to do to NOT get money from the party? What sort of corruption will the Democrats in power NOT overlook from one of their own?

The TNOYF Bible Story Series Volume II: Obamessiah Feeds The Multitudes

Large crowds followed the Obamessiah because the Great White-Haired Prophet, Chris Matthews, had spoken of His many great miracles, and the tingling they produced. These people wanted healing. Healing in the form of universal health care for themselves and their families.

After a grueling primary, the Obamessiah and his disciples were tired and needed to get away and be by themselves for awhile.

He and his followers crossed “The Great Plains of Gun-Clinging Ignorance” (oft referred to as “Middle America”) with much haste. As they arrived in the promised land of Berkeley, great crowds greeted them, emerging from coffee shops and the basements of their mothers and step-fathers.

As the end of the day drew near, His disciples came to Him and suggested that He send the crowd away, for their collective odor was beginning to foul the air.

“Let us find a place to eat and sleep, and possibly form an impromptu pro-abortion rally,” they implored Him.

Obamessiah declined, “They do not need to go away. Bathe, perhaps, but not go away. Give them something to eat.”

His disciples were stunned. Although the crowd fell short of MSNBC’s reported 25 million, there were still nearly 5,ooo men, women, and transgendered “tweeners” to feed.

The disciples knew they did not have enough money to buy them all food, and there was no time for members of the crowd to make it back to their parents’ houses for a quick loan.

But The Obamessiah was testing them. He saw their consternation.

“My children, gather round,” He said. “Tell me, how does one obtain food?”

There was a period of silence as his followers thought.

“Wish really hard?” ventured one.

“Possibly,” He replied.

“The Tofu Fairy?” asked another.

“At times, yes,” He said.

“Get a job, earn money, and purchase it in a store?” offered yet another.

“Heh heh heh,” He replied, tousling the hair of the young follower. “You have made the Obamessiah smile, my son, but no.”

“The government!” yelled one astute disciple named Neil, producing gasps from the others.

“Precisely,” said He. “You are clearly wise in the ways of forcible resource redistribution. Continue.”

“Well, uh,” Neil continued, “because of the inherent unfairness of our...capitalistic system, it often becomes necessary for the...benevolent government to step in and...make things more fair.”

Obamessiah smiled, and the group nodded approvingly.

And then, using the authority vested in Him under the recently passed Federal Food and Drink Fairness Act, He sent his disciples to the homes of the obscenely rich local gentry to confiscate their food.

And it was good. The greater good.

MALIBU, California — A paparazzo trying to photograph Matthew McConaughey at the beach told police he was attacked by a mob of surfers who threw his camera in the ocean.

SNIP

When one member of the group shouts at a photographer, "Get a ... real job," the photographer replies, "This is a real job. What do you do?"

The man replies: "I just drink beer and party."

He was hysterically funny back in the 70s and again in the 90s after he got clean and sober. But the past few years he has gone downhill like a freakin' avalance and since his return from the Rutgers debacle it's been a total free fall. But he'll go nuts in NYC if he's not a player and I have grave doubts about his being able to relocate Clean-and-Green Diedre to the ranch on a permanent basis.

It's always safe to assume the problem might lie in Windows itself. Just put in the install disk and repeat after me:

"Everything I say is a lie. I'm lying right now."

Windows will scream in pain, and do whatever you tell it to after that just to make it stop.

Someone needs the username Vera Possum.

I'd take it, but I don't believe in socks...

Okay, since I'm sort of a born-again newbie here -- what is the current policy on "alternics"? I mean, changing your username for a one-shot joke, but doing so in a very transparent way without being a sneak about it. Or having a small number of different personae to post under -- like I have two valid LGF accounts, as "Throbert McGee" and "Rugby the Rat."

I would say that this type of "alternic" is totally unlike "sock puppetry," but is rather more like Japanese bunraku, where the puppeteers are always in full view of the audience.

Or you could compare it to Dick Van Dyke playing both Bert the Chimneysweep and the elder Mr. Dawes in Mary Poppins, where the trickery is transparently obvious to all but the youngest children.

In either case, perfectly honest things to do -- but if Charles has had to crack down on this sort of thing because some people were abusing the name-changing feature, it's understandable. Just want to know what the rules are.

Reporters Say Networks Put Wars on Back Burner

"..By telephone from Baghdad, Mr. McCarthy said he was not as busy as he was a year ago. A decline in the relative amount of violence “is taking the urgency out” of some of the coverage.."

".The violence itself is not the story anymore.."

"..Ms. Logan said she begged for months to be embedded with a group of Navy Seals, and when she came back with the story, a CBS producer said to her, “One guy in uniform looks like any other guy in a uniform.” In the follow-up phone interview, Ms. Logan said the producer no longer worked at CBS. And in both interviews, she emphasized that many journalists at CBS News are pushing for war coverage, specifically citing Jeff Fager, the executive producer of “60 Minutes.” CBS News won a Peabody Award last week for a “60 Minutes” report about a Marine charged in the killings at Haditha..."

Yep, if they can't use the war as a cudgel to hammer Bush or the repubs, then it ain't news. Besides, that narrative just ain't working for the oily annointed one. Oil prices are another subject that will soon become taboo. Drilling for American Oil is not going to happen as long as the dems have congers, and they know it's a loser issue. Illinois Legislature Passes Pay-to-Play Contracting Reform, Bill Awaits Governor's Signature

Illinois stands out as a state famous for corrupt politics. For generations, patronage and pay-to-play politics have been raised to an art form by state and local politicians. The state's last governor is in jail for racketeering. The current governor is under federal investigation for allegedly giving jobs and no-bid contracts to campaign supporters, more than 200 of whom have given the governor checks for exactly $25,000. Advocates of good government such as the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform have fought for years to bring the states' corrupt government officials to heel.

re: #31 Roentgen

Hey Raw. I checked out your blog today. My grandfather was a copyist for the Cleveland Orchestra, nearly a century ago. Before photocopy, etc., it was quite a task. His scores looked like art work.

I played a gig in 1990 in the Soviet Union with a youth band from Moscow. Every high school kid who played in this band was given all of the scores for the entire year for one 24 hour period over the summer. During this time they were required to write out all of their parts for the entire year from the conductors scores because the band could not afford parts or photocopies. Needless to say these kids weren't quite as efficient at copying as your grandfather! And this was probably the top youth wind ensemble in the entire Soviet Union having to write out their own parts in 1990. Quite a lesson for a 14 year old from a tree lined suburb in Boston.

But communism is a great thing. Just ask the Kos Kids. And most of the editorial board for the Boston Globe. Go Celtics and boo communism.

My fellow Lizards, I have just come across this article posted by corduroy O'johnson regarding the Presbyterian Church and some idiotic motions against the State of Israel:

[Link: www.nysun.com...]

I don't know how to comment on spin-offs, so I will do it here. I was baptized in, and subsequently became a member of the Presbyterian Church. I am still a member there, in fact; however, my specific church, like many others within the Presbytery, are leaving the national organization and joining one of a couple of splinter organizations. The New Wineskins, one of them, is one that my Church has recently voted to join (even though the Presbytery threatened to physically take our church and the land upon which it sits). This decision became official roughly a month or two ago.

I am pointing this out because I want my fellow Lizards who read this article to know that PCUSA is losing a lot of support nationwide exactly because of these types of idiotic, liberal decisions by Presbyterian Church leaders. Much like the Catholic Church and the UCC have been taken over by liberals in the United States, the Presbyterian Church is no different. I am proud, though, that our members are standing up to this debasement of our theological principles. Especially for the Jews among our Lizard ranks, please take heart in this, if you can.

Down by the river, osprey, herons, cormorants, were abundant. You'd never believe you were in NYC! Wildlife seems to adapt to us just fine.

Barak has gotten rid of his presidential seal - yes, under the bus.

I mentioned before, and tonight I proved it. On every seal I saw the eagle seemed to be crooked, the wings at different levels. Maybe it was hung crookedly, but to me it looked like just the eagle when I put a buiness card across from wingtip to wingtip.

It was a crooked seal.

Obama has obviously become the Michael Jackson of politics, he started out as one thing, he has ended up as something completely different.

Since January (alone), he has thrown numerous people, including his spiritual mentor (Wright), his financial godfather (Rezko), his ideological soulmate (Ayers), his grandmother, and now his biological father under the proverbial bus.

In it’s new ad unveiled last week, Camp Obama seeks to recreate Obama from the son of Kenyan student, to a corn fed, Kansas farm boy. The ad portrays Obama as a child raised by “a single mom and my grandparents” who taught young Obama “values straight from the Kansas heartland where they grew up.” The ad conviniently omits any mention whatsoever of Barack Obama Sr., Barack Obama Jr’s biological father.

Wikipedia: Langostino is a Spanish word meaning "small lobster" (in Spanish Lobster is called Langosta), but is commonly used in the restaurant trade to refer to the meat of the squat lobster, which is neither a true lobster nor a prawn. It is more closely related to porcelain crabs and hermit crabs. Langostinos are not langoustes (spiny lobsters) despite a similar name.
In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration allows “langostino” as a market name for three species in the family Galatheidae: Cervimunida johni, Munida gregaria, and Pleuroncodes monodon[1].
In Cuba and other Spanish speaking Caribbean islands, the name Langostino is also used to refer to crayfish.

Welcome to the pew.

I'm Catholic, myself, and wouldn't be anything else, but it's getting hard, the way the American bishops are. The archbishop here in St. Louis is dismantling a fine old Polish parish because they want to hold on to their own money (and they had a deal with previous bishops to do so). Plus the American bishops are on a roll against the death penalty. In a perfect world, I would be so, too, but the fact is that the bishops aren't big on life imprisonment without parole or hard labor, which is the only other alternative to the death penalty.

Then, there's the fondness for illegal immigration, under the guise of "welcoming the stranger."

So, missing Mass is a mortal sin. Breaking into a foreign country and flaunting its laws? No big deal. And they wonder why attendance is down.

Oh well, we've had bad shepherds before. Just have to keep our heads down and pray for better leadership.

More "robust" flavor, hence the massive seasoning
Harder to overcook
More fun to play with the carcasses (I stack mine in Iraqi-prisoner fashion, facing across the tables, and punish the top one with a paper panty on its head)
Cooked in large batches so bring your friends!

Seriously, once or twice a year a crawfish boil is a GREAT party. If I was in the mood for a good meal, I would go for the shrimp (Gulf Coast boy on a budget, shrimp was a BIG DEAL when I was growing up, and we bought them straight off the boat in Kemah).

No, nor the Blue Dog. There was so much to do and see and experience and only 10 days to do it! Plus, everyone we met adopted us and invited places; we actually had to start refusing invitations because we were losing all our "anniversary trip" time! We did get the pleasure of meeting lizard pink freud, who was a lovely person.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, please let me know if you ever plan to be down this way again.

I became Presbyterian after fleeing the Episcopalians (my heritage church). Now, the Presbyterians are becoming increasingly like the Episcopalians. Still, I'm not quite ready to join a "low" Bible church, (but slowly am moving in that direction).

I'd better get used to being "unchurched."

I can't help but shake the feeling that we need to fight for our theological principles. I truly wish that I had been keeping track of the Presbytery throughout my lifetime, but I think I fell into the trap that most people do - the belief that a church's principles are concrete and unwavering. I have to believe that this is exactly what has happened with the Episcopalian Church and the UCC - church members didn't realize, and didn't care to discover what was going on within the upper-echelons of church leadership. In the end, these liberals in power do nothing but drive faithful members away, and that is equally as sad as the institutional anti-semitism that they engender, in my opinion.

Have anyone experience the following. I went to youtube and viewed a video of obama at a Mayors conference:

[Link: www.youtube.com...]

I saw a couple of comments with 150+ positive dings.

I posted a comment, nothing bad like " I'm still voting for McCain" around 11:00 AM today. When I went to the video again a couple of minutes ago, my comment was never posted. All the comments are pro-Obama and there are still a couple of comments that have 150+ positive dings.

Something is fishy at youtube.

Jesus speaks Russian?

His church is called the Church of The Last Testament. He was a traffic cop in southern Russia, until he had a "revelation" in 1991. He has 5,000 followers in Russia, and 10,000 worldwide. They changed their calendar to start with his birth year (so this is the year 48), and they celebrate his birthday (August 18th) instead of Christmas. His followers are strict vegetarians, and don't smoke or drink.

Ticks and mosquitoes are everywhere, so two-thirds of the people have had Lyme disease. They call this guy "Bessarian" (sp?). The people give the church all their money, and get an allowance of 300 rubles ($12) a month, and rations of sugar, buckwheat, etc.

I think we've lost the fight ... before we even started. At some point the heirarchy is so entrenched and polluted that the only option is to start with a clean slate (another or new denomination). Think of all the general assemblies that were stacked against ordinary Presbyterians. Presbyterian missions have been gutted (though there are signs of a comeback.) Evangelism is unheard of. The seminaries are ridiculously leftist.

Sadly, I think it is a waste of our time to try to change the denomination from the inside out. Its too far gone.

Well, I think there is such a thing as a silent majority. Our Catholic newspaper now runs a page every two weeks entirely in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, but there's enough cognates in it that I can tell it's not stories that are elsewhere in the paper in English. Someone wrote a letter to the editor and complained, and for weeks after they printed letters about how un-Catholic and bigoted the letter write was. There's no way of knowing how many people wrote each way, because the newspaper obviously prints the letters it wants to. Still, it warmed my heart that someone was willing to go on the record regarding the newspaper publishing different articles in a foreign language. I imagine there's lots more of us out there.

Still, just as you're automatically a racist if you're not for Obama, you're automatically an un-Catholic bigot if you believe people should be in America legally and be able to read the language.

This, too, will pass.

Our diocesan newspaper, The Texas Catholic Heretic, publishes plenty of lefty articles, mainly from Catholic News Service. But hopefully things will change, since got a new bishop last year, and the editor (a deacon) is retiring.

Fawning over Byrd at Kos. Grotesque.

Byrd's new book: 'Letters to a New President'

Possibly the last, best advice from the esteemed white-haired gentleman from West Virginia is being released tomorrow. Robert Byrd's latest book, Letters to a New President: Commonsense Lessons for Our Next Leader, is "a plea to the next occupant of the White House, and to all of us, to care more about the future of our country, world and future generations." Most wisely, Byrd is encouraging him to "avoid the disastrous missteps of the current administration":

One late president - more popular in death than he was in life - also gets an overdue critique and draws a strongly-worded parallel to the current administration:

... Byrd sharply criticizes Ronald Reagan for "an almost pathological fear of the Soviet Union" and harboring "feverish, nightmarish visions of the Soviets as some kind of superhuman rivals."

... The Reagan administration, Byrd writes, "was willing to undermine the Constitution of the United States ... to pursue its harebrained scheme."

Beautiful.

Sadly, I fear that you may be right. Who among us is righteous enough to begin a new movement, though? Culturally, this isn't something that someone is bred to do, and I fear the radicals among us taking such a movement over.

This, more than anything, entrenches my opinion that liberalism MUST be stopped, and stopped quickly. I don't think anything is quite so Gramscian as the hijacking of religion.

BGOH -- I used to think that the leftward lurch in religion was simply unavoidable. Every Christian denomination seemed to be moving leftward until, finally, it reached the edge of the religious universe. The natural progression seemed to go from Presb to Episcopalian to UCC to Unitarian to ... over the edge.

But the Southern Baptists somewhat crudely fought off the "moderates," the Lutheran Missouri Synod defied the old ALC and LCA, and the Roman Catholics have had two popes in succession who upheld tradition instead of recreating it.

This gives hope.

The Priest in our parish is very apolitical. Imagine that. The one he replaced? Well, we called him Father Sandanista.

Yes. So much depends on the priest.....and the bishop, to a lesser extent.
The trend in the Catholic Church is fairly positive at least. The younger priests are usually more conservative than the baby-boomsters.

So easy, so fast things are destroyed.
So hard, so slow the rebuilding.

For the Christians among us, at least we always know that we have the salvation of Christ. And that isn't insignificant.

I'm not trying to evangelize here, but this is an important conversation for us Christians, so I hope you'll forgive me if you are not a Christian.

What earlier comments about America?

Will Smith On Obama: 'First Time' in Years it’s Good to Be an American

On to promote his new movie "Hancock," Will Smith was pushed by "Today" co-host Matt Lauer to express his support for Barack Obama and the actor/rapper, channeled his inner Michelle Obama, as he declared it's the "first time" in five to 10 years it's been good to be an American overseas [audio available here]:

WILL SMITH: You know I just, I just came back from Moscow, Berlin, London and Paris and it's the first, I've been there quite a few times in the past five to 10 years. And it just hasn't been a good thing to be American. And this is the first time, since Barack has gotten the nomination, that it, it was a good thing.

Seriously, I wish I had the link but I did read that lots of Euro's are now having Major League second thoughts about Obama.

What earlier comments about America?

I wasn't asked, but Will Smith seems to be somewhat inconsistent about America:

Will Smith Declares America Racism Free

HOLLYWOOD - Rapper/Actor Will Smith announced Thursday at the opening of "Men in Black II" that as far as he can tell, racism no longer exists in this country.

"It’s a great, great day for the United States, and for black people in particular," Smith said "It was a long hard struggle but it's clear to me by all the love and adulation I'm receiving today that racism is finally dead."

Men in Black II was released in 2002.

Star Actor Will Smith to German Press: 9/11 Changed Nothing for Me

(By Ray Drake)

In an interview posted August 9 on the website of a major Frankfurt newspaper under the title "George W. Bush Lied to Me," star actor Will Smith had some interesting things to say about the USA, President George W. Bush, Michael Moore and the September 11 terror attacks among other things.

When asked if 9/11 had changed anything for him personally, Smith answered:

“No. Absolutely not. When you grow up black in America you have a completely different view of the world than white Americans. We blacks live with a constant feeling of unease. And whether you are wounded in an attack by a racist cop or in a terrorist attack, I’m sorry, it makes no difference.”

Even more thrilling than RealWest, who's a level-headed type certainly, is Will Whittle, who has written EXCELLENT observations on America, and got to the point of organizing a Best-of-the-Best Teachers about a year ago, in his intelligent quest to start an online movement for excellence...

But it founders on the Shoals of Devotion.

Without devotion to a Person, (Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Baha'u'llah) people can have technical skills and good motivation but they use those for other than pooled resources designed to improve our human lot.

The Devotion which that Person calls out in us leads to YEARS and DECADES of devoted service to humankind, the kind of service which builds edifices atop Mount Carmel...

Without such a Personage, there is no devotion, no self-sacrifice and no unity of purpose or harmony of effort... NO Revolution, BGOH

So, the next time you see a Jewish friend wearing a chai pendant, you can play dumb and razz 'em with "Hey, where can I gits me one o' them nifty Apostrophe-Pi necklaces, matzo breath?"

The Zionist Mall

Oh, far out -- they've even got Apostrophe-Pi necklaces in 14K gold filigree! But I think that the Am Yisrael Chai is more my style.

But, can anyone explain to me what's up with the pomegranate-themed jewelry?

The only mytho-poetic association that comes to mind for "pomegranate" is the Greek story of nubile teen goddess Persephone getting abducted by Hades, the horny sugardaddy god of the underworld. Forever after, the poor lucky bitch had to spend one month per year in the hellish yet super-glam domain of Hades (think South Park's depiction of Satan, minus the homosexuality) for each pomegranate seed that she'd eaten during her visit.

But that can't possibly be what the pomegranate Jew-elry is all about. I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say that it's something to do with "May you have as many grandchildren as there are seeds in a pomegranate"?

Am I right? Do I get a door prize?
