Retweet28 Tons of Bush Derangement Syndrome

Tue, Jun 24, 2008 at 7:49:11 am PDT

With gas headed toward $5 a gallon, a group of “progressive” moonbats have decided it’s a great time to hit the road and drive 50,000 miles in a 45-foot, 28-ton gas-guzzling monument to Bush Derangement Syndrome: The Bush Legacy Tour.

The best part of this story is that they are completely oblivious to the many levels of irony.

Not even a hint of awareness. They do have an expensive-looking professional web site, though.

UPDATE at 6/24/08 8:04:06 am:

This is not a shoe-string operation; check out the photos of the exhibits inside the bus: First Photos of the Bus.

Some comments from readers at their site:

Have you calculated how many kilotons of CO2 you’re going to bless our earth with while driving that embarrassing behemoth around?

Can anyone say hypocrite?

George W. Bush’s ‘legacy’ shadows his eight-day trip to Europe as journalists and leaders alike focus on reflection. Many Europeans are now apathetic to the outgoing leader who was greeted with three solid days of ardent protests during his 2003 trip.

Another rant by people that discovered politics with George W Bush, discovered terrorism, the Middle East, yet not its history, Islam and Arabs with 9/11.

For those of us who have spent more than two weeks over seas know and have seen that EVERY US President is met with ardent protests whenever he goes overseas. Even at home. Seattle riots weren't on Bush's watch.

Crazy riotous protests met Clinton EVERYWHERE he went.

Boker effen Tov novices.

OK, here's a thought you inspired:

What happens when this backfires and Obama has to disown it?

Will he throw the bus under the bus?

Is there a neverending chain of larger buses, waiting to crush the smaller ones? How did this chain evolve? Is there evidence of a common bus ancestor, or was the original bus built by Martians Babylonians Apemen Manbearpig Sasquatch Stan?

37 Ojoe  Tue, Jun 24, 2008 7:58:54am

Well the bus tour will do its part in staving off the next ice age (probably) and for that we can be thankful.

Who's driving? Willie Nelson?

86 tedzilla99  Tue, Jun 24, 2008 8:06:44am

I posted how I will remember Bush's legacy:

I will remember President Bush as a strong leader during the horrific attacks on September 11, 2001. I will also remember him as strong voice for democracy in the Middle East, and for liberating the millions of Afghanis and Iraqis who suffered under the murderous rule of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein. I will also be grateful for the tax cuts which gave us a strong economy and increased revenue to the Treasury. And, I will forever remember him as an honorable, decent, and thoughtful man, who wouldn't let hateful rhetoric, comparisons to Hitler, death and assassination fantasies, constant derision of his intellect, and disgusting personal attacks against him and his family dissuade him from his job as President of all Americans and as Commander-in-Chief of our fantastic and courageous soldiers.

I'm thinking that might get thrown under this bus as if Obama threw it himself.

About the Bush Legacy Tour

Today, George W. Bush has the approval of only roughly one in three Americans according to most polls with two out of three disapproving of his performance as President. Across the board, Americans reject everything from Bush’s handling of the war in Iraq and fighting terrorism to his handling of the economy, education, the environment and health care.

So, since the 110th Congress has the approval of only roughly one in five Americans does that mean they're going to start the 100th Congress Legacy Tour?

Watch for the nuts operating the bus to say that they are actually saving the environment by driving that thing around - using passenger miles per gallon instead of straight miles per gallon (which shows that this gas guzzler would probably do no better than the worst SUV in that respect). So, if they get 50 people on that bus, they'll be able to claim it gets significantly more mileage than if only a handful were on it..

Fun with statistics and all that...

Federal Way baby dies after falling into fire pit

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- A six-month-old baby is dead after falling into a fire pit and burning to death.

Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said the father told investigators that he fell asleep in the backyard with the boy Saturday night, and when he woke up the child was missing.

He said he went inside to ask his wife if she had the baby, and when they returned to the yard they found the boy covered with burns in the fire pit at the house in the xxx block of SW xxxrd Place.

Why Syria is allied with Iran & why the US has failed to pull them away

According to intelligence reports seen by SPIEGEL, the Syrian facility at Al Kibar that Israeli jets bombed last September was the site of a secret military project. The report states that North Korean, Syrian and Iranian scientists were working side by side to build a reactor to produce weapons-grade plutonium. Sources say that the Iranians were using the facility as a “reserve site” and had intended sending the material back to Tehran. While the Iranians had made great progress in the development of uranium, it is alleged that they required the help of the North Korean experts when it came to plutonium technology.

Iran, Syria and North Korea are also alleged to have cooperated on the production of chemical weapons. Indeed, in July 2007 an explosion near the Syrian city of Aleppo killed 15 Syrian military officials as well as dozens of Iranian rocket scientists and, according to information obtained by SPIEGEL, three North Koreans. According to Jane’s Defence Weekly, the accident released quantities of mustard gas and the nerve agent Sarin.

Iran is the world’s Gold Standard at employing proxies and avoiding consequence. This should not come as a surprise. I and others have suggested precisely this likelihood in the past.

All that aside, interpreting Assad’s moves as a drift from Iran is interesting dangerous conjecture. The simple math is this: Syria will drift from its alliance with Iran when it fears regional Sunni (read: Saudi Arabian), Israeli and/or American consequence for not breaking with Iran more than it fears Iranian retaliation for breaking away, including an Iranian-fostered domestic upheaval and perhaps even insurgency that would include Sunni groups aided by Shi’a Iran.

Considering this simple math, there is no indication that there has been a message of US/Israeli/Saudi ‘pain and consequence’ sent. Carrots will not dissuade. Fear motivates men such as Assad, and this is the currency Iran trades in.

Does it run on biodiesel? IIRC, some music act, I forget which, had a tour bus that ran on used vegetable cooking oil from restaurants.

I don't recall precisely why they had to stop doing that, but I think there was an issue about federal and state taxes...

You may be thinking of the progressive bluegrass band Hot Buttered Rum, who still tour in a biodiesel bus and use restaurant cooking oil where possible. They're really great, with just a few overtly political songs.

Yeah, the Fox is controlled by a lot of dams. Not too suprised about the water level in Oswego. That crest will go past Yorkville, and find its way into the Illinois at Ottawa. The Des Plaines is fairly well controlled were I am. And then I'm also up on the bluff, well above the river as well. We rarely see basement flooding on top of the upper bluff.

Six months old?!? At six months, most kids are just learning to sit up on their own, although some can crawl. I am very suspicious.

Show me the baby that would crawl into a fire, or even close enough to a bed of hot coals that he would fall in. At six months.

That's all I'll say for now.

I read some pages on a blog called FLDS 101, that scared the sh!t out of me.

You know, I'm LDS, married 25 years this week to a great LDS guy. We are just average neighborhood folks.

What I read about the FLDS is horrifying, a total perversion of everything we are taught including honesty, integrity and the Articles of Faith including obeying the law.

11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Bush catching heat for the mortgage mess is a bunch of crap.

It was the Dems who passed legislation forcing bankers to make loans to people who were incapable of paying them back (otherwise known as the "little guy"), under threat of pulling their banking licenses. I saw that train wreck coming a mile away. The fact that the very people who caused the problem would later blame it on Bush (who characteristically does nothing to protect his reputation) was also predictable.

There's a loop hole... polygamy is if you go get legal marriage licenses for multiple wifes. FLDS and those folks don't go get any licenses from the government, they get married with in the religion only, no legal standing. Legally it's not polygamy, that's why you see them being busted for child abuse, the sex with minors child abuse aspects.

Here's the problem: Most of these FLDS have spiritual marriages that are not performed by a legal authority. FLDS consider it marriage, but the state can't consider it a crime, because it is just a "living together with kids" arrangement, technically, in the eyes of the state. It a loophole that can't be fixed with such libertarian sexual views as we have now. The state can only get them for underage sex.

A reporter asked the question about if there was another terror attack would it benefit mcCain. Affirmative. it was a set up. Hillary clinton said the exact same thing. But look at it this way: the terrorists want Barak, if they think an attack before the election will harm him, they might hold off.

The best part of this story is that they are completely oblivious to the many levels of irony.

The lack of self-awareness on the left is pathological. The ones who scream "global warming" are also the very ones who indulge while demanding the rest of us live as troglodytes; the same people who scream "you're murderers!" for supporting the military, routinely pray for the death of our leaders and hope soldiers turn their guns on their superiors.

A sick deranged bunch -- and most of them support Obama.

Ditto. Near bottom of this page, I followed the video link. Description for video:

The Center for American Progress, in conjunction with the Glaser Progress Foundation, recently launched a multiyear effort to increase public understanding of what it means to be a progressive given our nation's history and the challenges we face today.
[Link: www.AMERICANPROGRESS.org...]

Researching Glaser Progress Foundation, I found this:

The Foundation was created, endowed and is led by Rob Glaser, CEO of RealNetworks. Since its creation in 1993, the Glaser Progress Foundation has distributed over 21 million dollars for philanthropic purposes. The Foundation is located in Seattle with a staff of three: Executive Director Martin Collier, Program Officer Mitchell Fox, and Operations Manager Melessa Rogers.

And this:

Description: The Glaser Progress Foundation aims to build a more just, sustainable, and humane world by supporting national nonprofit organizations in targeted program areas. The mission of the Measuring Progress program is to build a more equitable and sustainable world by measuring what we value rather than valuing what we measure. The Animal Advocacy program partners with animal protection organizations that focus specifically on great apes and farmed animals.

I said earlier that I think they'd hold off a terrorist attack the whole four years of his presidency if he's elected. They'll enjoy watching us retreat and weaken and humiliate ourselves all on our own before delivering the body blow.

415 TalkinKamel  Tue, Jun 24, 2008 9:53:24am

re: #401 DistantThunder

It's really sad when we talk about terrorist attacks solely as to how they'll affect this or that presidential candidate.

Whether and attack would be "good" for McCain, or "good" for Obama, it sure as hell isn't going to be good for those who get killed, their families or the effect such an attack could have on our country's infrastructure, economy and free society.

What is this country becoming? This is about something more than politicians' popularity.

(Of course, anything that might hold off attacks is good---but it's better to fight them, be prepared for them and try to cut them off at their root sources.)

I had a brief thought that the bus should be called "Priscilla" -- but then I reconsidered, since three drag queens driving a bus with a huge sequined shoe atop it across the Australian outback actually made far too much sense by comparison.

(Plus, try as I might, I just couldn't think of a suitably witty way to apply "Are you telling me this is an ABBA turd?" to the Bush Legacy Tour -- but someone else is welcome to try.)

427 CheatyPantsMcSweatervest  Tue, Jun 24, 2008 11:34:42am

Let's see according to them Bush caused:
A. Iraq War- OK he was cmdr in chief so that's a fair link
B. Turning the American dream into a nightmare- well that's somewhat hyperbolic. But Bush is not literally in charge of the economy it kind of does stuff by itself
C. Health care costs rising. Yeah we all know that Rove and Co were meeting and deciding what to charge
D.Environment- well everyone knows he has a weather machine.
E. Workers working harder falling behind- yep it's all his fault that India and China are booming, while America has little room for improvement. Just nuke 'em
F.Katrina- see D. Plus he doesn't care about black people.
G. Education- why isn't the prez in every classroom making sure tommy reads?

So all they want is a superhero, is that so much to ask?

Of course it is. Morons.

Mandy Manners was looking, and I haven't looked through all the comments.

This seems to be a project of the "Bush Legacy Project" founded by Brad Woodhouse

Americans Against Escalation in Iraq

by way of Americans United for Change

A funny thing happened on the way down the rabbit hole. Brad Woodhouse is connected to the DSCC and Hildebrand Tewes Consulting, which doubles back to Obama's campaign directly.

Also noticed that US Action (think they were the Obama union that organized the casino caucaus votes in Nevada) and an office or some such in South Dakota which I would take as an indication that former Sen. Tom Daschle has some sort of role in it (and isn't Daschle shortlisted for Obama's VP).

What I've got so far...

441 grumpy_old_soldier  Tue, Jun 24, 2008 1:56:29pm

I left a message at the site, where you can comment on what you think Mr. Bush's legacy will be...I don't really think its what they were looking for:

vindication:
noun
1. the act of vindicating or defending against criticism or censure etc.; "friends provided a vindication of his position"
2. the justification for some act or belief; "he offered a persuasive defense of the theory" [syn: defense]

I believe that President Bush's legacy will be one of vindication for many of the difficult decisions he has had to make during the years of his presidency. Both Lincoln and FDR were hated and vilified during their terms in office, yet time proved both men were right and we now hold them in the highest regard.

I do not agree with all of the positions that President Bush takes on matters of national importance, but I respect him as a man of courage and conviction, both personal and professional, who has held fast to his principles.

Moral courage is defined as doing what is right because it is right, regardless of the outcome to you. President Bush is a morally courageous man, which is far more than can be said for many of our so called "leaders".

That's the way he will be remembered.

Thank you for your service to the Nation, sir!

Hopefully, this will just PISS these worthless little pieces of dogcrap off so bad that they will begin to foam at the mouth and shake until their heads explode. Gawd!...I would pay to see that!

They had already (apparently) started deleting comments by the time I posted that one, and it never even got a chance to appear. It was a genuine question, but apparently they can't handle genuine questions. It's all about how it makes them feel, not about how logical it is, I guess.
