Clenis to Obama: Kiss My Ass

Sat, Jun 28, 2008 at 1:11:42 pm PDT

Wow. Gotta love this election—or maybe you don’t. The Telegraph quotes “a senior Democrat” saying that Bill Clinton told friends if Barack Obama wants his support, Obama will have to “kiss my ass.”

Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama’s victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president’s future campaign role is a “sticking point” in peace talks with Mrs Clinton’s aides.

The Telegraph has learned that the former president’s rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.

A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could “kiss my ass” in return for his support.

Classy!

I sure hope Clinton doesn't "damage his own reputation with his intransigence". Actually, I feel the same way about Barry as Clinton does.

I'd understand why Bill would be upset at Obama.

The interesting part is the one that Bill does not think Obama is winnable.

That is interesting.

Too good to happen, but wouldn't it be a hoot if Slick endorsed .... the other guy who will be on the ballot, McSomething or other, the editor will remember who it is, we're all busy at the shrine waiting for Omassiah....(channeling a "free" press major media member there, insert /sarc if needed ;-)).
"Too good to happen", 'cause Billy Bob's charming missus has some monster campaign bills to pay off and a move like that would cause a massive moonbat mental meltdown, heh.

Interesting indeed. Say what you will about Clinton, he is one of the most perceptive politicians of recent decades. He sees through the media hype to the reality of the situation: Obama has huge negatives, and the word is filtering out through the electorate even if the media choose to ignore it. Media support is not as valuable as it once was.
I am predicting a disaster of Biblical, or at least McGovern, proportions for the Dems this November.

Remember the bumper-stickers that said, "If you can read this, thank a teacher", usually with a red apple graphic?
How about a graphic showing a gas pump price--

$4.59 9/10
Thank a Democrat.

Folks, this whole Dem unity stuff is a bunch of 'Carp'. Hill will never be Obama's VP. Yes they may appear on the same stage from time to time (Keep track of how many times they actually campaign together, the lib media will hype every campaign event they both attend, but my prediction is that they will be few and far between). Deep down the Clintons both hate Obama. They think Shrill deserves the WH, not some young usurper to the throne. Besides , there is the "Queen Bee Syndrome" to factor in. With a women VP, first lady Michelle Obama (Jesus, don't those last 4 words make you cringe?) will be lucky if her name gets mentioned in section Z Page 40 of any paper. I think Michelle runs the Obama household. (notice how Dem women seem more powerful then their men?). Michelle doesn't want the Clintons anywhere close to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

73 ironbill  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 1:31:07pm

I have never believed the Clintons to be as smart as their opponents have described them. Manipulating and calculating, yes; but never overly intelligent. However, the little bit of conspiracy theorist in me says that Bubba would like nothing better than for Obamamessiah to lose. Then he can say "see I told ya.'"

Because of this, Monica's boyfriend will continue to make himself visible.

Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton's 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was "very, very bitter", from people who have spoken with him.

Well, Obama knows all about those bitter people. Don't most of 'em live in Pennsylvania?

What a disgusting comment.

Clinton by all accounts worked hard, was ambitious and rose above his humble beginning to become President of the United States.

I think he was a lousy president, but it wasn't because of his humble beginnings.

He's just realized he's worked for scumbag democrat party ideals all his life, and it's all been a crock. He and his wife have been tossed aside by former fawning democrats for a younger version of himself, with pigment, equally willing to say anything, do anything to impose leftist ideas on the world.

It can't be a good feeling to think all your life you worked for these folks.

She gets BHO to pay off her debt, springs it right before the convention and is then chosen by the supers.

Wouldn't we all? Even when we're unhappy with Bush, he looks better than the current choices.

However, given the current choices, it's positively astonishing to me how much better McCain looks every day!

I've never quite understood why so many people who like Bush think McCain is so bad. To me they're fairly close to being the same.

There are a few things I actually prefer about McCain. I suspect that we would have gone into the surge mode in Iraq far sooner under McCain, for one. I also suspect that McCain would have been much more responsible re spending.

The only good things Bush produced that McCain, I think, would not have are the tax cuts and the excellent SCOTUS appointments. (And I admit those two things, especially the latter, are important enough for me to prefer Bush.)

McCain-Feingold? McCain can be blamed for that despicable piece of garbage. But it was an even more despicable act for Bush to sign it, given that he believed it was unconstitutional.

Anyone know what is the latest status on Obama's birth certificate?

I never realized that if he was born in Hawaii before 1959 or on 1959, it could be possible he would not be automatically an American citizen as Hawaii became a state on 1959. I am aware that officially he was born on Aug 4, 1961.

But so far, no official birth certificate is shown anywhere.

The Live Birth Certificate on Kos and Obama's website is a actually a Photoshop version...and it is not an authentic document according to the State of Hawaii simply because it does NOT have the embossed SEAL of the State of Hawaii...

Presidents all have feet of clay, but the best ones let the history and dignity of the office make them better men than they would otherwise be.

Obama would make an attempt, but he lacks the experience and principle to sustain it. He'd be at the mercy of his advisors, who would put up their feet and rule the place.

BTW, in the end, Obama will pucker up. Like Slick, he will lower himself to any level to grab the brass ring, and morals, pride, nor principles amount to a pile of dung compared to the prize.

Sorry if it's been discussed but Obama is now pandering to the old folks to get elected. He and his "economic advisor" are suggesting that anyone over age 65 and earning $50K or less will pay zero in taxes. The Wall St Jnl suggests that young people who earn that who are supporting children and paying off a house are in a worse position. However, it looks like Obama is willing to promise $7 billion a year in lost taxes to get the seniors to vote for him.

This is change? This is hope? This is pandering.

Has anyone else wondered what led BHO to challenge Hillary so seriously in the first place? It's not hard to imagine Hillary snubbing BHO as an upstart newbie, and his running serving as the ultimate smack down response. After all, he seems to have the ego for it...

Texas high court: Exorcism protected by law

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday threw out a jury award over injuries a 17-year-old girl suffered in an exorcism conducted by members of her old church, ruling that the case unconstitutionally entangled the court in religious matters.

In a 6-3 decision, the justices found that a lower court erred when it said the Pleasant Glade Assembly of God's First Amendment rights regarding freedom of religion did not prevent the church from being held liable for mental distress triggered by a "hyper-spiritualistic environment."

So, speaking of OR going completely over the edge (kidding!), from what I've seen, it's still not entirely clear how/when I will be able to take advantage of my newly vindicated 2nd Amendment right here in DC. No clear path right now to how to actually GET a pistol license; the Mayor said something about the Metro Police Department having 21 days to come up with a new registry procedure for handguns. He also said they'd refuse to issue for semiautos... and then the DA appeared to back off from that. I think I'll wait for things to settle down, and hopefully for them to unambiguously state that they'll issue for semiautos (I'm not really interested in a revolver). In the meantime, I can finally legally take the cable lock off of Mr. Mossberg at night. (That's a shotgun, not some sort of Pulp Fictionesque "wake up the gimp" kind of thing.)

I am originally from the town next to Unity. There is NOTHING there. I will have to make sure my mother is accounted for while they are there. To this day she brings her dog down the street to the historical marker to urinate on the sign that marks where Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich held a photo op where they symbolically "shook hands" back in 1995 or so. The dog can't pass the sign now without having the urge to go.

I'd understand why Bill would be upset at Obama.

The interesting part is the one that Bill does not think Obama is winnable.

That is interesting.

Does he know something we don't?

He knows what he is going to do and say during the upcoming campaign. He probably knows whether Hillary is going to honestly try to help Obama win, or subtly undercut him.

He doesn't think as well as he once did. He never had wisdom, but there was a time when there was nobody with better tactical instincts than him. Those days are gone. Now, he just gets red-faced, then purple-prosed. The inner Bill is exposing himself, and it's not a pretty sight.

Hillary did the "stand by your man" thing while Bill was making an international spectacle himself and their marriage. He humiliated her (and Chelsea) through all those months of lies and denials.
I saw the Clinton's as more of a political-partnership than a marriage. They had a deal. He had his time in the WH. '08 was supposed to be HER turn, until the Dem's turned on them in droves.
If Bill becomes an anchor around the neck of Hill's burning presidential ambition, will she help push Bill under the bus?

Bald Knob, Arkansas.

Bald Knob's namesake was a huge, somewhat round rock out-cropping which covered nearly an acre of ground. It was surrounded by a flat rock shelf and could be seen from quite a distance. It was a landmark for many years before it was quarried and used in the construction of the Missouri Pacific Railroad.

Legend has it that Hernando De Soto, during his explorations of the Mississippi River Valley in 1541, discovered and named this large rock mound "Bald Knob." It was used by Indians before the coming of the white man as a camping ground during their hunting trips up and down the White River Valley. Later it was used by marauding outlaw bands and slave traders. Cattlemen used the area to assemble their herds for salting, branding and selling after the stately rock was quarried. Today, the quarry remains very much as it was 125 years ago. Several businesses are located around its perimeter. The original top shelf rock remains in only one area which is between V.M.&J. Fur and Jiffy Jerry's. A marker has never been established at this historic site to this day.

Bald Knob was incorporated in 1881. Railroad construction began in 1872. Prior to that there was nothing to mark the present site except for two or three log huts built for temporary use by cattle raisers from the west who brought their herds to graze the rolling foothills and rich White River Delta Plains.

Bald Knob and the surrounding area soon became known as "The Strawberry Center of the World." Truck and train car loads of this highly sought after commodity were shipped from the Waller Family Strawberry Market for several years. Other states found they could grow them earlier, but none could grow them any sweeter.

In the year 2000 election, Al Gore's handlers wanted to show Gore wasn't just a robotic drone that talked about "lockboxes" and "reinventing government" but that he had "passion" for his wife, unlike Clinton, so Al & Tipper had to bare all, or do whatever their pollsters told them to do.

Guns are so gay....
Heller Decision: Gay Rights’ Victory

While Ann Althouse finds in yesterday’s Supreme Court Heller decision overturning the District of Columbia’s handgun ban a victory for women’s righsts (via Instapundit) as the overturned law banned certain guns which are easier for women to use, I see it as significant advance for gay rights victory .

Indeed, I believe this decision is the best ruling for gays in many years, perhaps even more significant than Lawrence v. Texas, the decision overturning sodomy laws. Few states enforced those laws whereas many jurisdictions enforce gun bans. Both these pro-gay rights’ rulings were handed down on June 26, Heller this year, Lawrence in 2003. Given that day’s proximity to the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, we can celebrate all three events during Pride month.

With these ruling, gay people will have greater and more ready access to handguns and so be better able to defend ourselves against gay-bashers.

It's probably just me, but I'd rather have:

Classless, brutal honesty where you know what a person actually believes than "civilized diplomacy" where you never know what a person is thinking.

Clinton's comments revealed much, but pale in comparison to politics of yesteryear where Congressman would actually beat each other with weapons on the jobs, i.e., Southerner Preston Brooks beating Charles Summers with a cane, requiring 3 years of recovery. Now that's brutal honesty.

I'm reminded of tis last "American Idol" season. For those who didn't see it... All the press was that little David Archuleta would win. All season long, that's all you heard 'David Archuleta, David Archuleta, David Archuleta, David Archuleta....

It's a thriving tradition. Just remember, you never get something for nothing, and you won't suffer too much embarrassment.

I think the "Viva Viagra" commercials trump the Free Credit Report commercials.

Life was better and TV more enjoyable before the pharm companies were allowed to hawk prescription drugs on television.

Let's not forget while you're at work, your children today can get their pharmaceutical & sexual needs met at SCHOOL, by their leftist school administrators who enjoy passing out drugs & condoms to kids without their parents' approval.

Nah, Wolfie had a for real bird in his house and his boys were gonna "take care" of it.

Actually, I am the mommy wolf.
If it had been Mr. Wolf, he would not have had second thoughts about letting the boys "take care of it!"
(For some strange reason, Mr. Wolf does not fully realize that males are uncivilized.)

I prefer WAB but, tradition mandates "first lady."

I'm afraid with those two in the White-house, there will be a lot of traditions going by the wayside.

I would love to have one of those over looking a beautiful vista.

Hell, I'd settle for just having a man.

I'm glad he's still blogging. He had to quit for a while because leftists had outed him and were harassing his employer.

Huh. Don't those harassing leftists know that we're the intolerant ones?

re: #405 wolfie

i agree with that. Obama could walk up to a podium during a presser, announce he is Satan, start rotating his head around Linda blair style, and that evening on "Softball for dems" Chris M. will be gushing about how good the speech was. I do think there will be some violence if Obama loses, but whatever there is will be hyped beyond belief by the MSM

I would vote for Bill Clinton before Osama if I had only the 2 choices, better yet I would vote for GWB right now before McCain or Osama.

"BBev" -

I agree, for all of his perceived faults - come Jan. 20, 2009 - GWB will be widely missed.
