Why not send them to the real Guantanamo? OK, I forgot... the US is still a democracy with freedom of speech, unlike the communist paradises which those moonbats defends.

A better deal is sending them to their loved islamofascist thugs. I bet they would love being treated like second-class citizens...

The insanity of those idiots never stops to surprise me.

They are not thinking that clearly. All they know is U.S bad, enemies good.

24 David Simon  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 3:31:58pm

Isn't it interesting that, with Bush on his way out - and McCain clamoring for humane treatment and adjudication for detainees - that this issue has lost its luster for the moonbats?

25 alegrias  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 3:32:12pm

Pathetic attendance considering their protest tent appears to be next to the Washington Monument's periphery, near the Washington Mall at 14th street, just about a block from the Holocaust Museum.

There's a Smithsonian Folklife Festival going on that attracts hundreds of thousands some years. There's the Smithsonian Metro station nearby, and they still can't get a crowd.

Bwahaha.

26 nyc redneck  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 3:33:00pm

They should take this show to Mosul and ask the families of the 13 Iraqi soldiers blown up by an ex-Gitmo freak last March what they think of these outrageous detention conditions. They will probably have more to say than apathetic tourists.

32 DistantThunder  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 3:35:13pm

The way I figure it, Gitmo has a pathetic record and our military is far better off taking care of business in Irag and Afghanistan.

US: You are a spy.
Spy: Please send me to Gitmo.
US: We don't do that anymore for obvious reasons.
Spy: So what will happen to me?
US: Guess.

Are they still putting up shacks? I remember they used to have a bunch of those ugly things in the Diag at University of Michigan back when I was an undergrad. Ugly ones. Looked like they were painted by a bunch of kindergarteners. They made particularly compelling arguments for the Cause after the elements had had a chance to beat on them for a while and animals had taken a crap in them. Good to see that old traditions are being preserved!

How do you come to that conclusion, KB? Every reliable poll has them dead even, except that idiotic Newsweak poll that had Obama up by 15 points. Then someone noted that Newsweak polled 39% dems, 27% independents, and only 22% republicans, which the MSM ALWAYS does- They oversample the dummycraps (ask more likely to vote democrats than republicans) in just about every poll so the poll results are skewed. At this time in 1984 Mondale was up 18 points on Reagan.
Wait until they debate, especailly if McCain gets a few townhall-type debates. McCain is great at it, and we've all heard the Obamessiah. Without a TelePromTer he can't put a coherent sentence together, and you can bet McCain is going to choose at least half of the moderators, so it won't be all douchebags like Keith Uberlady and tingle boy Matthews lobbing softballs to Obama.

Charles, can I make a headline request? It's this Delahunt guy who came right out and said he was glad an American working against Al Qaeda was "outed" on tv so that he might be targeted for death by the Democrat's Al Qaeda allies.

Democrat tells Cheny aid he's glad Al Qaeda knows what he looks like now. (So they can target and kill him, doing what the Democrats would like to do for themselves if they could get away with it.)

We need to demand this guy's resignation. There is no stronger indication that the Democrats actively support Al Qaeda as allies in the only war they care about: the war against Republicans.

This Gitmo thread reminds me -- my sister recently got me re-hooked on Google Earth and we've been trying to find some of our old homes, schools, and other stomping grounds from our military-brat childhood.

Anyway, a few minutes ago I finally found the house we used to live in on Guantanamo Naval Base! Here are the map coordinates for that section of GTMO, for anyone who wants to check it out in Google Earth:

75° 7'58.67"W

19°55'45.71"N

Anyway, Gitmo kinda sucks for natural beaches (no comfy sand, just cobblestones and coral/shell gravel), but otherwise it's a decent sub-tropical vacation spot.

It should be the same as on my MacBook, highlight the area to be cut or copied (drag mouse across the area), then Command - C for copy, Command-X for cut.
Click where you want to paste, command-v for paste
(Command is the Apple key next to the space bar)
Or use the Edit menu instead of the command keys
You can also control-click (equivalent to right click) to get a menu with copy, paste, etc.

Obama Supporters Take His Middle Name as Their Own

Emily Nordling has never met a Muslim, at least not to her knowledge. But this spring, Ms. Nordling, a 19-year-old student from Fort Thomas, Ky., gave herself a new middle name on Facebook.com, mimicking her boyfriend and shocking her father.

“Emily Hussein Nordling,” her entry now reads.

With her decision, she joined a growing band of supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, who are expressing solidarity with him by informally adopting his middle name.

The result is a group of unlikely-sounding Husseins: Jewish and Catholic, Hispanic and Asian and Italian-American, from Jaime Hussein Alvarez of Washington, D.C., to Kelly Hussein Crowley of Norman, Okla., to Sarah Beth Hussein.

I don't see any Republicans doing the same with Sidney.

I would LOVE to see them try. Maybe we could take the whole island at the same time.

"BBev" -

Put it this way, our 1962 pact for the survival of the Castro Regime was with the "U.S.S.R." - Can all 'y'all find THAT on a Map anymore?

The answer is NO!

I did not see any jumper cables or water torture dunking booths. Maybe next protest they will bring them and demonstrate the procedure on some unsuspecting code pinker from the audience. Maybe they can do a Gallagher act and show how long a terrorist can hold his breath under water before spilling his guts. Oh well, AI really doesn't want to hurt anyone and the thought of inflicting undo pain or stress on some unsuspecting hippie fruitcake liberal castrated jellyfish and watch him squeal like a little girl. I would pay to watch that. A LOT OF MONEY FOR THAT!

I wish I could get myself stationed [at Gitmo]...sadly, my branch is pretty limited in that regard.

I'm not really sure what my dad's job was while stationed there, or whether he enjoyed that particular duty assignment, but I do know this: for years afterward, he would talk about how much he missed the scuba diving off of Cuba. So for that alone, if for no other reason, he sure loved Gitmo! (And my mom loved having mangos growing right outside her kitchen window, and I loved learning to snorkel with my folks, and having wild hermit crabs and the occasional marine iguana crawling around the neighborhood, and my sister -- well, she was very young and barely remembers it, but she had fun at the time.)

liberals don't go to marxist demos in election years it makes there obamamassah's look bad. unless something major happens like maybe iran's nuke program having a work accident.

I quite confident Phelps will hear when the day comes, "depart from me for I know you not."

I'd be surprised if God wasted that much formality on Phelps. I think it'll be more like a wordless booger-flick directly into a big bubbly pot of molten sulfur...

We should hand the Gitmo prisoners over to the Democrats who think they've got all the answers and say:

"You don't like the way we take care of these guys? They're yours. Show us what geniuses you are."

Of course they'd probably offer them millions in tax payer funded compensation and tenure at the major university of their choice.

And the sad thing is, that's probably not so far from the truth.

Oh, wait...

201 Mich-again  Sat, Jun 28, 2008 7:44:39pm

We had way more people over here today for my son's graduation party. Of course we had ribs, brisket and beer so its no wonder.

So, you think they'd have had more protesters there if they'd said "Free ribs and beer"? :D

Who's Ribs And'bir? Is he imprisoned at Gitmo? I'd go to the protest to free him, but I don't want to step outside, man. ...Too many guns!

the moonbats may I say may.. be disappointed at Muslims.. they want nice tame killers who will stand in Saudi lands and have news interviews about how Americans tortured them in Gitmo.. and raise money for code pink from Saudi royals.

Not the reality that as soon as they get one out of Gitmo he runs off and lights a 10 ton car bomb in a orphanage.

They will simply say that he was soooo traumatized from being innocent, wrongly imprisoned and then tortured, he lost his mind and sought to lash out at those that had destroyed his life.

The ability of the left to twist reality to fit their fantasy is boundless.

You have to wonder how many of those people understand who Hussein was? And I am not talking about Saddam either. It is little wonder that the voters in this country elect the folks that they do when they have zero understanding of history in any manner, shape, size, or form. [While I am sure most LGFers know, for the odd moonbat that lurks, Hussein was the son of Fatima who was married to Ali. Fatima was the daughter of good old Mo. Mo's only son was by Mary the Copt and was probably, but not certainly, lead to an early demise at the age of six months by Mo's other wives.]

I walked by this right off the Mall yesterday. This picture is accurate as there was basically no one there. Some of the moonbats were trying to engage me or give me fliers, but it was just too sweltering for me to even engage them and ask them why they are so insistent on supporting the worst terrorist thugs on earth.
