Barack and Bill Bury the Hatchet

Mon, Jun 30, 2008 at 5:15:24 pm PDT

Were you worried? I hope you weren’t really worried. They’re all lovey-dovey again: Bill and Barack put the rows behind them.

Those who feared Bill Clinton wanted no part of the hugs, back slaps, protestations of party unity and general love accompanying his wife’s campaign appearance with Barack Obama can now relax.

Bill and Barack, who spent ample time during the 16-month Democratic primary contest sniping at one another, are on speaking terms once more, the Obama campaign said yesterday.

“Senator Obama had a terrific conversation with [former] president Clinton and is honoured to have his support in this campaign,” a statement from the Obama campaign said yesterday. “He looks forward to seeing him on the campaign trail and receiving his counsel in the months to come.”

Bill is nothing if not an opportunist. This doesn't mean anything of any importance from the Clinton angle.

BHO, on the other hand, needs a semblance of party unity if he's to have a prayer of winning in November.

I'm guessing that Slick Willie has the upper hand here.

Watch, bill and hill take the Obama money so hill can pay off her campaign debt, they will act all nice to Obama untill her debt is settled then watch out. I still think she has something planned at the convention, Obama is going to learn to true meaning of 'dupe', 'cause it will be him. What I can't wait for is the moment on the convention floor when Barry and Michelle realize they have been played like violins by the Clintons. Sweet Hillary can try anything she wants at the convention, including the "brown" note, but that does not alter the fact that Obama has the delegates to win the convention. I think the Denver convention will be wild enough without the Clinton's doing anything. Personally I think the Clinton's are politically savvy and professional to know when the battle has been lost and support the party candidate....

This is pure b.s.

Obama never had a "terrific conversation" with anyone in his life.

He doesn't have the resources.

Without a teleprompter he can't say anything but moldy cliches.

(With the prompter, he manages to scrape off the obvious mold from his political chestnuts.)

I'm a member of Toastmasters Int'l and about to earn my Distinguished Toastmaster award; and I cringe each and every time that I hear Obama speak in response to unrehearsed questions. He's only good with a prompter and looks at notes too frequently to be believable. A true speaker can speak with specificity and without notes, if in fact what they speak is what they believe in their heart and mind. The Um's and Ah's counters at my group would ding him ... nine times out of ten, he is unable to complete a sentence without and Um or Ah, without a teleprompter.

Hillary wasn't my fave, but she had passion and KNEW what she was talking about. Very few Um's and Ah's; she had passion. And knowledge..

When I moved "South" in 1996, I left some of my "stuff" at my father's house. A flood wiped out most of my LP's and my Advent "Baby" Rear Speakers which were put in the basement.
One thing that survived is my Technics SL-BD22 Turntable with a SHURE/REALISTIC TP-4 cartridge from RadioShack. The turntable is now about 'chai (18) years old. The stylus was replaced in 2002 for the Price of $2.00 at a RadioShack store that wanted to get it off their inventory. My remaining LP's, running through my KENWOOD (Remember them) 6040 Receiver are a source of JOY as well as nostalgia. The 6040 is the Pre-Amp for a later KENWOOD "Home Theatre In A Box" Receiver (2002) with most modern conveniences and sound shaping. The Advent "Tower" Speakers survived and are part of the system.

Yes, it is an incredibly rich period of history, so much more than the stock portrayal of knights in armor, bloody torture, damsels in distress.

That's cool, Warwick and his amazing Neville clan were the first characters who caught my interest as a teenager. I planned and took a trip to England after reading Warwick the Kingmaker. One person I would like to know more about is Edward Brampton, A Converso Portuguese Jew who served Edward IV and Richard III. Quite the swashbuckler too.As you know, Jews in England from the 13th-17th century, very rare and dangerous.

Given their history, I would think that they would drop any bomb they have at the Demonrat convention, in August, which would offer no option of finding any other candidate but Shrill...their evil know no bounds.

What bothers me, as I have said too many times, is that at a time when we need the very best candidates from both parties, we get Shrill and Hussein, and a McCain who just is not catching enough attention. Who McCain picks for his VP is critical.

To be honest? If, G-d forbid, Hussein or Shrill get in? I fear for my kids and grandkids in this post-9/11 world.

I am voting for him. No second thought. I am a Republican, and hope for the best. Wesley Clark's comments are despicable, as is he.

Whatever there is to dislike about McCain, the Obama negs are magnified 100 times. As far as I'm concerned the SCOTUS alone is enough to vote for McCain.NObama!

Saw that and entirely agree. He needs to market himself more aggressively. If not from him, then a surrogate who can get it across in a coherent succinct message. For goodness sake, this Obama does not hold the patent on communication, and McCain is a true mensch on many levels.

Let's all remember that this is going to be a good, old fashioned 15 round championship match and the two combatants haven't officially entered the ring yet. Obama shows every sign of "leaving it in the gym" and bringing nothing to the fight.

And now Barking Insane has Billy Jeff in his corner.

I'm thinking Mike Tyson and Don King.

When you really listen to Hussein? He is an empty coat, and what he says blows away like dust.

McCain is sadly not eloquent, but he has a sense of humor, and yes, he is a true mensch.

If the phone rang at 3 AM? He would take action immediately...no waffling, whereas Hussein would dither and call in all his advisors.

We need someone who has experienced life in real time, and who also understands our enemies. McCain is that man. Hussein is a lightweight unlike any other in my memory, and when you look at all his negatives? Chicago politics are just as down and dirty as those I grew up with in Boston....

Re Shrill? She is a consummate Jew hater...as is her political partner.

I am sure it has been said, but the hatchet(s) were buried in Shrill, Bill and Hussein's backs by each other. This 'friendship' will last about as long as ice cream in the sun.

Too long ago to still hurt. In the final analysis, it was a historic "Round Piece of Metal." Effectively, it was rendering unto Caesar's Mistress that which was Caesar's.

There are 2 operative phrases drifiting around this story:
(1) "Kiss my Ass"
and
(2) "Bury the hatchet"

Both remind me of a joke that I shall not repeat here. The punchline was....
"Not on the left side; Not on the right side; But right in the groove."

Wish I could remember the first part of the joke. I would be tempted to repeat it here.

That Jerusalem Post article is great.
What a pity the Washington Post is never so decent.....about a Republican, anyway.

Exactly my thought. The Wapo, Al-NYT, et al? They would rather disappear than print a true article re any Republican...

Sounds rather like alimony: "The f***ing you get for the f***ing you got."

That joke must have several incarnations. The version I heard as a boy involved a shoe salesman, a very demanding customer and the punch line was: "Not on the right cheek, not on the left cheek but right in the middle."

i don't think bill's bitterness can be erased w/ an ass kissing.
he will never be supportive of b.o.

Only one question: So who wore the blue dress for this one?

203 LC LaWedgie  Mon, Jun 30, 2008 8:52:17pm

Audacious BHO and Bodacious Bill -- looks like Michelle's degree in Sociology and Certificate in Blackness aren't helping him choose his dancing partners very well.

McCain may not be an economics whiz, but at least he keeps a business owner close to help him out...

Speaking of audacity, a thought that jumped into my head today -- probably dumber than dirt, but I'd like to see McCain choose the other Bill -- Cosby as his VP candidate.
Now, if he'd accept it (and I realize that he has a strong record of supporting Black Democrats including Jesse Jackson for President), instead of donk ripples, that would send waves through this country.

Here's a trivia note: BHO has never supported a winning candidate>

Why, The Devil of course.

I think that Bill will vote for McCain.

207 freedombilly  Tue, Jul 1, 2008 9:33:11am

I have a new theory about Obama's bus. I think that he has a net underneath his bus that catches everyone and anyone that he throws under it. He then can step off the bus holding hands with any of them in the future if he sticks his finger in the wind and decides that he can admit his affection for them again to the general public.

Somewhere in a secret room back there Rev Wright has been hanging out with Bill and Hillary and many others until recently when the Clintons got off of the bus.

Probably poker and (Cuban) cigars back there.

I really can't wait to see the first Bill and Barry photo op. Five bucks says it will even more awkward than the Barry/Hillary hug!

209 Mike P  Tue, Jul 1, 2008 6:40:33pm

It's easy for two men who express no valid ideas, stand for nothing, and hold no principles to "make up". The gesture is as meaningless as the petty sniping that preceded it.

Maybe they both buried the hatchet for now, but they both know where the grave is...
