Palestinian Terrorist Strikes in Jerusalem

Wed, Jul 2, 2008 at 8:02:03 am PDT

A Palestinian from East Jerusalem drove a bulldozer into a bus on Jerusalem’s Jaffa Street today, killing three people and wounding dozens.

A Palestinian from East Jerusalem deliberately plowed a bulldozer he was driving into a passenger bus on Jaffa Street in the capital shortly after noon Wednesday, killing at least three people and wounding dozens more.

One of the dead was a woman who had been driving her car at the scene of the attack. Police shot and killed the driver of the bulldozer, who held an Israeli identification card, and who had a criminal record.

Footage of the attack, which appears to have been caught multiple times on camera, shows the policeman climb up to the cab of the moving bulldozer, reach in through the window and shoot the driver in the head. A cloud of blood explodes onto the glass and the driver can be seen slumping sideways in his seat.

 Frank says:

Interviewer:
The notion of a "guitar solo" has preconceptions based on it; people automatically refute it because it's supposed to be self-indulgent or "for musicians." It's almost like things become iconographic and somehow lose their value for outsiders.

Zappa:
Well, who's fault is that? That's what _writers_ do. Musicians don't do that. The average person doesn't sit around thinking about "iconographic problems of a guitar solo." -- Interview for Musician magazine, by Matt Resnicoff, November 1991. Reprinted in July 1995 Issue.
