When Eurofascists Meet

Wed, Jul 2, 2008 at 2:11:46 pm PDT

When neo-Nazi mutant David Duke went to Belgium to take part in a skinhead summit meeting (which included Nick Griffin of the BNP), his host for the weekend: a local council member of the Belgian Vlaams Belang party. You know, that “anti-jihad” party that some bloggers continue to promote.

Here’s the Babelfish translation of the page: LEADER Ku Klux Klan spends the night at municipality Council member. (The original is here.)

LGF reader Red Sock, who emailed about the story, has a more coherent summary/translation:

When David Duke attended an Euro-Rus conference in Dendermonde, Belgium, he stayed the weekend with a local Vlaams Belang council member. The council member, Karin Milik, and her husband Thierry De Rijcke (the personal bodyguard of party leader Filip deWinter) are close personal friends of David Duke. Other council members of Vlaams Belang in the city of Dendermonde are unhappy with this and are demanding the resignation of Karin Milik, but it seems the party leaders will let her get away with this if she admits her error.

Euro-Rus is an organisation wanting the US, Europe and Russia to work together to combat Zionism and immigration. Nick Griffin of the British National Party was also a speaker at this racist conference.

Has Duke figured out if he is for the Islamofascists or against them?

Isn't he a regular contributor to one or two of their jihadi magazines?

One of the admirable differences between the Right and the Left in the US is that the Right has the decency to reject those who share some ideals (being "anti-jihad" in this case) yet go beyond the pale in other areas (blatant racism). Unless called on it in a national way (say Revs Wright & Pfleger), I rarely see the Left call out those who agree with them in some areas and go too far otherwise.
One recent (micro) example was a BBC chat (Have your Say) on AIDS. Several commenters said that AIDS was good for the environment because it "culled unnecessary humans" - horrifying stuff. Nobody said (in effect) - "hey, I'm green and think the earth could do with less people, but there is no need for all that suffering." Nuts.

It would be like San Franfreakshow or worse.

Folks need to learn a very important lesson from Chang Ki Shek (sp?) and the Chinese communists. If your enemy has got your back, in the end your enemy will get you in the back.

I won't discourage groups like Them from fighting against radical islam, cannon fodder is cannon fodder, and we can sure use one more Marine when things get bad. (That means VB et al biting the bullet instead of a good Marine getting shot is a good thing.)
On the other hand, groups like that would tend to draw fence sitters into the fray.

Dutch politician to make another anti-Muslim film

Right-wing Dutch politician Geert Wilders is planning a sequel to his anti-Muslim film "Fitna," the local daily De Telegraaf reported Tuesday. Euro-Rus is an organisation wanting the US, Europe and Russia to work together to combat Zionism and immigration. Nick Griffin of the British National Party was also a speaker at this racist conference.

I see the racists and White Powerless are getting more media, and PC savy. What was once referred to as "Jews" and "other non-Whites", has not become "Zionism and immigration.

There are always spoken words that are crimes: the famous "fire in a theater", libel, slander, and death threats. But the tendency today is to draw the line far, far, far too widely.

I don't agree with the laws they have in Europe making it a crime to insult someone's religion, blaspheme, or even deny the Holocaust.

As much as I despise groups like the KKK, I prefer living in a country that allows them to speak.

The fact that the attendees at this little racist hugger-mugger are equating "Zionism" with Islamist terrorism tells you all you need to know about their mindset. And their antecedents.

As for Duke being there, all I can say about him (justifiably) is what the German Minister for War said about Hermann Ganswindt (less justifiably) in 1917;

If the Russians don't do something about their dying population, and aborting their future, then, ufortunately, somebody is going to move in on them, be it the Russians, the Chinese, or somebody else. They're going to have to come with something a bit more substantial then simply opposing immigration if they want to save their society (assuming it still can be saved).

I've got a few problems with your post. Mostly, have you met the "masses"? I haven't. I've met lots of people, some highly educated, who believed some things that took my breath. I've met a lot of people, poorly educated, not terribly bright - as measured by my observation - whose character was sterling, and didn't believe nonsense the the Protocols.

The answer is always to present the truth. It's not to propagandize, or condescend, but simply to present the truth, over and over again: the Protocols are a crude Russian forgery, based on a Czech novel of the 1870's.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I'd rather have the possibility that people can be exposed to filth like the Protocols and Mein Kampf, and yes, some will believe it and become a real, physical danger to us.

But the alternative is to block that filth to protect The People. So, who is going to block it? Clearly, the government. And who gets to decide what is blocked and what isn't? I don't like the idea of the state deciding which ideas are safe and which aren't. Freedom typically isn't very safe.

I was talking recently to a young Israeli just finished with IDF service... we were talking about the addiction to liberalism among U.S. Jews. We started talking about Steven Spielberg and his mixed record... good that he recorded all the oral histories, bad that he put out Munich. Then I said good that he did Schindlers List. And this Israeli kid said, no not good because he made it look to easy and nice in that movie. He didn't show the horror, so people still don't know. Said with emphasis. Wow. So I'm re-evaluating my reference point. Relates to these creepy Euros and fellow travelers.

Yes, and I'm just cynical enough to suspect that if the day comes that Islamist multitudes form a majority in any major part of the former USSR, the Euro-Rus crowd will all of a sudden be their best friends, on the principle of anti-semitic megalomaniacs sticking together like the birds of a (soiled) feather they truly are.

If anyone had told me three decades ago that I would think this now, I'd have considered them mentally unbalanced, but what Russia really needs is another Prince Alexander Nevsky.

The good thing about this all, is that there are more people in the Vlaams Belang party speaking out against this kind of disgusting politics.

And at last, there are some decent right wing options in Belgium nowadays. It used to be only the Vlaams Belang party that would talk about issues like Islam. But now voters have more options than the moonbats on the left who deny any problem related to Islam, and the Vlaams Belang on the far right. It won't come as a surprise that according to polls, support for Vlaams Belang is falling. Perhaps in a few years we will see either the Vlaams Belang party taken over by normal people, or the party being decimated because voters walk over to normal, democratic parties on the centre-right.

"He [Jason Richwine] agreed that our society changed, but made the blunt point that a major difference between today’s immigrants and yesterday’s is that today’s are almost all non-white while the earlier groups were almost all white. He went on to say this is important because whether we like it or not, people are naturally tribal and—to the gasps of many of the audience members—there are serious racial differences in IQ and that having groups with vastly different achievement levels will create more racial strife...

"He ended by making a thought experiment: What if the earlier waves of immigrants had been Pakistanis and Australian Aborigines instead of Italians, Germans, and Irish? Would they have assimilated? In the Q&A, I brought up Pat Buchanan’s comments about Englishmen assimilating more easily than Zulus and asked a corollary question: If our immigrants were coming from Europe, would we have the problems we are having today with Third World immigrants?...

"I had never heard of Richwine before this speech. It turns out that he is currently finishing his dissertation at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government on the topic of immigration and IQ. He will then stay on as a research fellow at AEI focusing on 'applying the science of mental ability to better inform public policy on a variety of issues, including immigration, race relations, education, and welfare...'"

VDare has been mentioned somewhere hereabouts I think. It's named after the first English child born in America, Virginia Dare. At a minimum, this site is devoutly anti-immigration. They say their stance isn't racist but claims of racism are "unavoidable since most Americans are white and most immigrants aren't". (If they would stop talking about the peril darker skinned immigrants posed to the national IQ, as in the example you quote, this disclaimer MIGHT be more convincing.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VDARE

Krikorian seems to fit VDare's unashamedly xenophobic and racialist template.
