Relatives of July 7 Suicide Bomber Have a Party

Tue, Jul 8, 2008 at 4:38:03 pm PDT

They celebrated his life.

And his act of mass murder.

It was three years to the day since the July 7 bombers brought carnage to the heart of London. In Britain yesterday, families of the victims wept for their loved ones.

In a village in Pakistan, a banquet was held to honour one of the young men who committed the murderous crimes.

Relatives of Shehzad Tanweer, who is buried there, staged the feast to ‘celebrate his life’ and ‘remember him as a martyr’ on the third anniversary of the terror attacks which killed 52 people and injured many more.

Yesterday the families of the victims reacted with outrage to the secret ceremony held at the village where 70 guests gathered to offer prayers and blessings for the suicide bomber whose grave is considered to be a ‘shrine of a big saint’.

Bradford-born Tanweer, whose father emigrated from Pakistan and ran a chip shop in Leeds, detonated his bomb at Aldgate station on July 7, 2005, killing seven innocent people as well as himself. Together with Mohammed Sidique Khan, 30, Hasib Hussain,18, and 19-year-old Jermaine Lindsay, the four bombers blew up three Underground trains and a bus.

As thousands mourned in Britain yesterday, in Pakistan there were prayers uttered for his soul and verses of the Koran were read out. At the commemorative dinner held by Tanweer’s uncle, 42-year-old property developer Tahir Pervez at his home in Samundari, guests were treated to two courses of sweet rice and salted rice with curry and beef prepared by a renowned local chef.

And to mark the occasion, rice was distributed among villagers. For the last two years, the family gathering has been held in secret at his grave, but this year police urged the family not to hold a memorial at the site.

His headstone - the largest in the cemetery of the village - bears the phrase ‘La ilaha il Mohammed dur rasool Allah’ which means ‘There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger’.

Local police officer Zafar Iqbal said: ‘At least 60 to 70 guests, who included villagers and close relatives, were invited. They recited the holy Koran inside Tahir’s home and prayed for his soul.’

Religion of peace!

The worst part for me...as I read this...is not that his murder and death are being celebrated.

No.

The worst part is that three years after this horrific event, Britain seems on the verge of capitulating to the very thugs that celebrate death and murder.

I was at the media walk through at the Pepsi Center today for the DNCC. The organizers were serving doughnuts at the door, saying "get your fried food". They also told us that fried food would be available at the convention.

The move of Obama's acceptance speech to Ivesco Field for the final night of the DNCC is going to cause a lot of problems for most of the media, they will have to move sets from the Pepsi Center to Invesco overnight and the Secret Service will have to keep everything secure.

One other thing worth mentioning is the fact that the DNC will not be simulcasting the convention in Spanish. This seemed to contradict their embrace of multiculturalism.

MP calls for UK entry ban on July 7 bomber’s relative

An MP yesterday urged the Home Secretary to ban the uncle of 7/7 bomber Shehzad Tanweer from Britain.
David Winnick wrote to Jacqui Smith after the Evening Standard revealed the killer’s uncle, who regards his nephew as a martyr, plans to come to Britain.
....
“It would be totally inappropriate for someone, whether a relative or otherwise, who publicly praises the terrorist involved in the 7/7 atrocity to visit Britain,” said the Labour MP.
“The home secretary and the immigration authorities have the power to refuse entry on the basis that an individual’s presence would not be conducive to the public good.

It's a good thing the article had this line:

Andrew Dismore, Labour MP for Hendon, said: 'Five people from five different ethnic and religious groups died from my constituency on July 7, 2005, and this is a damning insult to their memory and their family members.

'Most Muslims would be absolutely horrified, as I am, that Shehzad Tanweer is being remembered by some people as a martyr.''

Otherwise the U.N. thought police would condemn this article as "Islamophobic".

So anyway, when do the Brits (and the West in general) start fighting back for real?

the suicide bomber whose grave is considered to be a ‘shrine of a big saint’.

Christianity has saints. Islam has homicide bombers.

The word itself means “holy” and is derived from the Latin sanctus. The concept originates in early Greek Christian literature with the use of the word hagios (Greek άγιος meaning “holy” or “holy one”) and in the New Testament, where it is used to describe the followers of Jesus of Nazareth.

Hardly the same thing.

This behaviour is unacceptable. Praising him for his actions is unacceptable. Hailing him as a hero is unacceptable. Holding him up as an example to others is unacceptable. Brother of London bomber gets a free trip to Pakistan

Britain on Monday marked the anniversary of the 2005 London suicide bombings which killed 52 people amid an uproar over reports that a brother of one of the suicide bombers was given a free gap-year trip to Pakistan where the terrorists were trained for the attacks.

Relatives of those killed in the bombings which tore through three underground trains and a bus, today condemned the "insensitive" trip, which was designed to improve cultural ties and "bridge the gap" between communities in Pakistan and Britain.

The bomber's brother, who has not been named, was flown to Pakistan courtesy of Projects Abroad, a company specialising in gap-year travel.

His brother got to attend the party for free.

Dr Slowe would not say which bomber it was, but added: 'We have had great interest from the Pakistani community in the UK in this scheme.

'James Caan came to us because he is interested in this idea that youngsters should explore their heritage.'

The idea behind the scheme is apparently backed by Hazel Blears, the Communities Secretary.

Miss Blears is understood to have met Caan to discuss the project, but it is not known if she was aware that a bomber's brother was on the trip.

I would be very surpised if he did not attend the party.

You know loppyd, for the sake of a better argument, I don't really think any other legitimate argument exists.

What is really difficult to digest, is watching how fast this country, (relative to previous empires in history) has slipped into such a suicidal position concerning their own well being.

I have been thinking about this subject for a while now.

To me, it is obvious, much of Europe is on the brink of becoming nuclear tipped islamic outpost, extending the caliphate beyond the gulf states, and quite frankly, makes the threat of the former Soviet Union pale in comparison.

Hunt, 24, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. His lawyer argued that the online document should not be admitted because prosecutors had not proved Hunt wrote it, but a judge allowed Wiesel to read it.

"He joined the anti-Semites in saying that the Jews invented their own suffering, their own tragedy, their own death, in order to gain all kinds of things," said Wiesel. "When I read it, I was flabbergasted."

Seriously, would you be so civil if it was your brother or sister that was killed?

Law and order can only be effective, if it is respected. And that includes everyone subject to the law.

How long can a country, that is already burdened so heavily with taxation, supporting folks who refuse to assimilate, virtually all means of existence are at the behest of of fellow citizens, and continue to multiply the demand in this system?

I would bet my retirement that any statistician would give a pretty good confirmation of that position.

re: #90 Captain Jack

true rightymouse. Dems were never really that anti-communist. I like how the verona cables ultimately showed that McCarthy really was onto something. I think that dems support Latin American leftists like Chavez and, by extension, FARC. This springs from a history of total inequity in latin america especially in land and the so called "land reform issue" the communists and socialists sought to address.

The Venona archives have proved many things about the threat McCarthy addressed. Yes.

My Cuban-American friends despise communism and those among them who lean left politically here in the U.S (rare), often find themselves at odds with and rather bemused by, our left's fascination with, and apologies for, dictator thugs like Dear Leader, Castro, Chavez, etc.

As far as land reform is concerned - without our understanding and implementation of the private property order built into their constitutions and therefore, individual freedoms, they will always suffer from 'lords and serfs' mentality.

WASHINGTON - A federal judge overseeing Guantanamo Bay lawsuits ordered the Justice Department to put other cases aside and make it clear throughout the Bush administration that, after nearly seven years of detention, the detainees must have their day in court.

"The time has come to move these forward," Judge Thomas F. Hogan said Tuesday during the first hearing over whether the detainees are being held lawfully. "Set aside every other case that's pending in the division and address this case first."

Will historians write that the United Kingdom committed suicide, but at least no one can claim that the corpse was islamophobic?

Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall;
While thou shalt flourish great and free,

Time for someone to start beating Drake's Drum.

Drake's Drum is a snare drum that Sir Francis Drake took with him when he circumnavigated the world. Shortly before he died he ordered the drum to be taken to Buckland Abbey, where it still hangs today, and vowed that if England was ever in danger someone was to beat the drum and he would return to defend the country.

"Take my drum to England, hang et by the shore, Strike et when your powder's runnin' low; If the Dons sight Devon, I'll quit the port o' Heaven, An' drum them up the Channel as we drummed them long ago. ”

IMHO it is our duty to say that our system is better and theirs is wrong, and to re-confine their system, as it exists now anyway, to some hot sandy areas and that is all.

And in fact we have an opportunity here to convert the islamic areas which are in europe and elsewhere, to Judeo-Christian-Western ways; & it might be easier because they are out of their own territory.

But we need to get our own rock-solid confidence back to do it.

Iran says will hit Tel Aviv and U.S. ships if attacked

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran will hit Tel Aviv, U.S. shipping in the Gulf and American interests around the world if it is attacked over its disputed nuclear activities, an aide to Iran's Supreme Leader was quoted as saying on Tuesday.

"The first bullet fired by America at Iran will be followed by Iran burning down its vital interests around the globe," the students news agency ISNA quoted Ali Shirazi as saying in a speech to Revolutionary Guards.

The United States and its allies suspect Iran is trying to build nuclear bombs. Tehran says its program is peaceful.

Leaders of the Group of Eight rich countries expressed serious concern at the proliferation risks posed by Iran's nuclear program.

How 'bout we move beyond "serious concern" and do something before Iran has a nuclear card to play.

Good stuff!

Maybe they just need some bucking up from their cousins across the water to remind them that, after all, they are Englishmen!

Lyrics to 'For He Is an Englishman' by Gilbert And Sullivan

ALL.
He is an Englishman!
BOAT.
He is an Englishman!
For he himself has said it,
And it's greatly to his credit,
That he is an Englishman!
ALL.
That he is an Englishman!
BOAT.
For he might have been a Roosian,
A French, or Turk, or Proosian,
Or perhaps Itali-an!
ALL.
Or perhaps Itali-an!
BOAT.
But in spite of all temptations
To belong to other nations,
He remains an Englishman!
He remains an Englishman!
ALL.
For in spite of all temptations
To belong to other nations,
He remains an Englishman!
He remains an Englishman!

McCain jokes about killing Iranians with cigarettes

Iran says will hit Tel Aviv and U.S. ships if attacked

How 'bout we move beyond "serious concern" and do something before Iran has a nuclear card to play.

Not if McCain's dastardly plan to give the Iranians emphysema leaves him breathless first.

McCain, known for acerbic comments and for sometimes firing verbally from the hip, was responding to a report that U.S. exports to Iran rose tenfold during President George W. Bush's term in office despite hostility between the two states.

A rise in cigarette sales was a big part of that, according to an Associated Press analysis of seven years of U.S. trade figures.

"Maybe that's a way of killing 'em," McCain said to reporters during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh. "I meant that as a joke, as a person who hasn't had a cigarette in 28 years, 29 years," he added, laughing.

Anti-CAIR #011/08
Chairman of Council on American-Islamic Relations Resigns

The chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has resigned.

Citing concerns that included frustration over CAIR’s failure to be more “proactive and positive in its promotion of Muslim civil rights”, to be “more inclusive of younger, less-religious Muslims and encourage regular turnover of leadership ranks to ensure an infusion of new ideas”, Parvez Ahmed has left the organization he served for many years.

A careful reading of the reasons for Ahmed leaving the organization raises several questions:

1. Would CAIR target a “younger, less-religious Muslims” and “encourage regular turnover of leadership” to cover its terrorist origins?

2. Ahmed’s statement, “I also wanted to send a message that a change in leadership is needed at the highest level, that we need some new blood at the board and executive levels” would seem to indicate some kind of factionalism may be developing in the highest levels of CAIR. If so, what does this portend for the future of CAIR?

Or, is it just possible, that the top leadership of CAIR was in opposition of Ahmed’s plans for “new blood” because they feared for their jobs? Where else would people who back Islamist terror, support Islamic terrorist groups and individual terrorists find a job?

Was the rift religious in nature?

Ahmed says he was targeting “less-religious Muslims”; would these “less-religious Muslims” fit into the current board’s idea of what it is to be a “true” Muslim in North America today?

Let’s not forget that CAIR is largely funded by terrorist supporters and terrorist-sponsoring countries…are these ultra-radical Islamic funders of CAIR willing to support a group that isn’t in line with radical Islam?

The article closes with the following Ahmed quote: “The values of Islam and the values of America are complimentary." If this comment by Ahmed is what he truly believes, it is no wonder he and CAIR parted ways.

Ahmed can do much to reform CAIR by telling the truth about CAIR’s terrorist origins, the truth about CAIR’s active support of Islamic terrorists and the terror-money sources of CAIR’s finances.

Until then, Ahmed’s pronouncements ring hollow ...

No more "Guns For Britain". At the start of WWII American citizens were asked to donate personal firearms for the Brits. A lot of personal firearms were donated. Not many on the scale of the need for them, but they were donated. The Brits later banned personal weapons and the public was foolish enough to keep voting the same political parties into office.

The average Brit and the average Yank need to do a through house cleaning of all political parties. If they stand not for individual freedom, fire them without a pension. Make the pols work for a living for a change.

It's hard to even say "Islamist" any more. Spencer is right. The problem is with Islam. These animals are acting in complete accordance with the strictures of conservative Islam. Until there is a reformation in Islam, there is no hope for this ideology. It's a political and philosophical ideology as much as or even more than a religion.

The reformation in Islam that will bring about change will be radical. Maybe then Islam will be compatible with the Christian and/or secular West and cultures that are predominantly Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish (Israel) or any other creed. This will be a radical reformation, so maybe the term "radical Muslim" will take on a new meaning (e.g. a Muslim who rejects the literalist, supremacist and hateful/genocidal tenets of Islam). Islam needs to be purged of its racism, religionism, hatefulness and genocidal tendencies before it can sit alongside other cultures and be respected.

This will have to come from radical Muslims who risk being labeled and killed as apostates. We see a handful of such Muslims, but just a small handful, and they are all under constant threat.

You know people who run their mouths, sooner or later (preferable sooner than later) they will eventually run their mouths off at the wrong person; when that happens the offended party kicks their teeth in.

Read Ezekiel 38 and 39. Ahmadamndingdong (or someone like him) will run his mouth off at the wrong Person Who doesn't take kindly to pipsqueaks who try to destroy His people. The pipsqueak will come face to face with the original "bottled sunshine" courtesy of the One Who made it in the first place.

Terrorists, drug dealers and other criminals frequently arrange, or act in the knowledge that their families will arrange, elaborate memorials. At one time a plurality of the cocaine dealers in NY came from two towns on the North coast of the Dominican Republic. Those towns I once read are the sites of unusually impressive cemeteries, as well as homes with impressive satellite systems.

It should be the policy of civilized nations that memorials to criminals of above average size or distinction shall be destroyed whenever possible and without prior warning. Remove incentives and you may get better behavior. In Israel they reasonably have the attitude that if you destroy people and property then the state will destroy your house. Gives everyone a reason not to encourage sociopathy.

Pashto poets have now taken to writing elegies for Kansi, hailing him as second only to Osama bin Laden in the popular pantheon of Muslim heroes.
