I can only hope that the McCain camp will get the onions to take advantage of all the ammunition that the O!bama is giving him. I never imagined I'd ever see a Presidential candidate so vulnerable as the O!bama is...not even John F'ing Kerry was this weak.

I hate to say it, but John F. Kerry was also milky white.
It's surprising to see how little of human nature and politics these leftists understand. They fail to grasp that obama will take any position and reserve the right to CHANGE! his mind at any point all in the course of seeking power.
For a group constantly crying "fascist" at people, they also seem stunningly unaware of genuine fascist tactics when they see it.
Someone should post on his website "anyone disparaging the messiah obama, will have their phones tapped and movements monitored".
Let all the nuts go nuttier!
That's true, they'd go nuts. Like anyone gives a hoot what they're saying.
The biggest conspiracy has always been the fact that there is no conspiracy. Nobody's out to get you. Nobody gives a shit whether you live or die. There, you feel better now?
I hate to say it, but John F. Kerry was also milky white.
What has that got to do with anything? I look at all my candidates based on ability and issues. That's why I have trouble with John McCain as my candidate...not as much as the O!bama...but trouble nonetheless. The only thing I can trust at this time that he is that the O!bama is not, is that John McCain will take our national defense seriously.
I may be dead wrong about this, but I think every dispute Obama has with the left is going to move him one step closer to the presidency.
The Kos kids are voting for Obama no matter what.
Jackson criticizing Obama? Won't hurt w/ the black vote. Will help a lot w/ the white vote.
Move to the center. Pick things the press will publicize.
(And rest assured the voters have never read all those things in Dreams From My Father about how easy it is to manipulate whites by acting moderate.)

Heh. I think McCain should congratulate Obama for getting it right. That'll do the trick.
Flash! Jesse Jackson to make Obama sing castrato! See Drudge headline.
That was the context of my private conversation and it does not reflect any disparagement on my part for the historic event in which we are involved or my pride in Senator Barack Obama, who is leading it, whom I have supported by crisscrossing this nation in every level of media and audience from the beginning in absolute terms._
If he feels this way then why did he say he wanted to .....?
Yup, agreed. That's why he doesn't give a crap what his progressive base thinks. They are only good for winning the primaries, general elections are won by moderate swing voters.

It has to do with everything because when one attacks Obama for his stance on an issue it's easy to brand that person as a racist. It insulates Obama from criticism. It's not right, but it's the truth.

I'm glad that he [Obama] is, for the first time, asking for a sit down briefing with Gen. Petraeus and I'll be very interested in what his position on Iraq is when he returns," McCain said during a satellite interview with ABC News' Charlie Gibson Wednesday from Pittsburgh.
Watch part of Sen. McCain's interview with Charles Gibson on ABC's World News tonight at 6:30pmET.
"On the issue of Iraq, I am glad he's going for the first time in 900 days," McCain told Gibson, chiding Obama for visiting Iraq once since the war started compared to his eight visits.
To all moonbats- Metallica said it best:
Pride you took
Pride you feel
Pride that you felt when you'd kneel
Trust you gave
A child to save
Left you cold and him in grave
I see faith in your eyes
Never you hear the discouraging lies
I hear faith in your cries
Broken is the promise, betrayal
The healing hand held back by deepened nail
Follow the god that failed
Most libs I know think that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act started with Bush - just like everything else in their lives or in the world they blame on him because the BDS filter blocks out reason. They become curiously quiet when I send them this link.
Yeah, sort of. But McCain is different because he started as moderate but had to take a few steps to the right.
Good point. Obama's having problems moving to the middle. For McCain it seems to be just a slide to a comfortable position.
Now if he could just INSPIRE anyone...
I really am not understanding this. The libs don't want us to protect our country, or the people/corporations that are helping the country out, from groups that want to do harm to us? What exactly do they suggest law enforcement's or the military's tools should be if not to listen in on their conversations. I mean, we broke German and Japanese codes during World War II. Would the liberals be opposed to that kind of intelligence gathering? Would they rather have another 9/11 than doing something to prevent it?
I've read around the net today that some are saying that Obama is just refining his policies.
Just like Kerry refined his policies "I voted against the war before I voted for it" What is it with the dems, they're so A.D.D, they can't stay on point for more than a couple of weeks.

Walter in Golden, Co.
It's what happens when everything you say and do is driven by the latest from the 24 hour news cycle. Principle, values, and foresight are sacrificed at the altar of keeping the buzz.
Would they rather have another 9/11 than doing something to prevent it?
The answer has to be "yes".
They will say the Founding Fathers would be appalled...our freedoms are being trampled on by chickenhawks...America should examine what she has done to the world first...they'll say many things.
But they all amount to one thing: they wish to make this country weaker because 1- Bush can never be right, 2- America deserves it.
You are so right! Breaking those codes was a clear violation of the "right" to privacy! Obviously if you put something in code, you have a reasonable expectation of privacy!
I smell a lawsuit!
Reparations!

I have not had a chance to pick up the book. Could you elaborate?
...BO'R just ended his segment by saying what LGFers have been saying for a while: if Obama is elected, the claims that America is a racist country (which underpins demagogues' like Jesse Jackson's theories) will be shot to hell.
Yes, and I am conflicted sometimes whether or not I would "let" Obama be elected just to shut those people up. But then I realise that you do not under any circumstances legitimise a person like Obama by making him President. There's too much damage that can be done.
They really are a wonderful group of people. And what's even better is that this group with its suicide pact may have access to the White House for at least 4 years.

The emails I've received from lib friends are predictable - Bush is spying on AMERICAN CITIZENS! That's what they think and many really do NOT want to know the facts of the matter. Some, though, appreciate the slap upside the head with facts.
There's sixty three pages of comments to poke through at that link...
muahahahaha.
The problem is, none of this is going to change anything. I think most Americans simply make up their mind according to who is put on the front burner by the party.
Yes, folks like us at LGF's spend a lot more time on the issues, but not the general public.
In the voting booth, the thought going through most voters head will be "change" or "terrorism."
Imagine this with Lily Tomlin as the telephone operator:
Operator: A gracious good morning. Is this the party to whom I'm speaking, a Mr. Barack Hussein Obama?
Do you know why I'm calling, Mr. Obama?
I work for the phone company. That's right, the phone company.
What do you mean, there's no “The Phone Company”?
Yes, we were split up, but now there are several of us. And we're all upset at you, Mr. Obama.
Over what? Over our immunity.
We just did what the government told us, and now, people want to sue us.
Oh, that's funny, Mr. Obama. You think we should be sued?
Civil disobedience? That's for moonbats, Mr. Obama. Not for big companies that need permits from the government.
Aha. Well, Mr. Obama, we want you to vote for our immunity.
What was that? When what freezes over?
Remember who you are talking to, Hussein. Can I call you Hussein?
We're the phone company.
You know those calls you made to Iran? To a Mr. Amadmanonjihad? I don't think people would like to hear what you promised him, Hussein.
Oh, that's funny. We're not supposed to listen? What would we do for entertainment.
And those calls to a Mr. Chavez of Venezuela? A Mr. Khadaffy of Libya?
A-ha. So, Hussein. I knew we could count on you.
Yes, if you vote for our immunity, those tapes will be destroyed.

When hell freezes over.
(Without regard to the wisdom or morality of using your kids as campaign props)
They're an absolutely charming family. What is striking is that Obama made the decision to show the kids off, and IMMEDIATELY afterwards said it was a bad idea.
Jesus, you know, I think Kerry has more conviction than Obama, and that's saying something.
McCain is just more principled. That's why he speaks better than Obama when there isn't a script, he's speaking about things he believes while Obama is trying to figure out what he should say. The latter is much more difficult. That being said I don't trust McCain the keep the Bush tax cuts, he voted against them twice and has always been against them. When he says otherwise I just think he's pandering.
It is rather weird, I agree. It's not like anything untoward happened during the interview, either.
Exactly. Kennedy got a LOT of women votes (which Obama desperately needs to court) because he showed off Caroline constantly. I'm not sure if this latest reversal makes Obama look better or worse, as a politician or even as a father. At least say something like, "it was a good segment, and my girls looked great, but I've reconsidered."
Just like with Michelle, he thought that he could use them for all positive, and no one would dare question them.
Typical LLL, who thinks free speech means they get the platform and no one can debate or speak back to them. If you exercise your free speech to oppose them, they truly believe they are being "cencored."
There are places in Dreams where he talks about how he learned in college that whites (he means white liberals) will applaud or accept anything if you present it to them in a graceful, mannerly way.
He writes that a black white cannot separate black identity from black rage against whites. He notes that most whites are uncomfortable with that equation, and that the secret to "getting along" is to hide the rage behind a polite, ingratiating facade. He comes right out a couple of times and congratulates himself on his ability to manipulate people.
He had to have written this book before he anticipated running for national office. He'd edit out some of that stuff now, I think.
Rick, it just dawned on me that you might have believed my blog at face value. Please tell me this isn't true, I wouldn't feel right having fooled you.
In the voting booth, the thought going through most voters head will be "change" or "terrorism."
I think you have a valid point, I just hope what's running through the mind of the electorate in the voting booth is the utter lack of experience vs. a centrist moderate veteran.
Kos and the ObamaCONS are nothing in their outrage compared to Rev.Jesse Jackson who said he wanted to "cut Obama's n**s off" in a private comment made in front of a live mic.
This whole damn circus is better than a soap opera.
In politics, it is possible that there is no difference between saying, "We'll stay until the job is finished," and "We'll leave as soon as possible."
Also like the antithesis to King Canute, the LLL think that if they command the tide to go out, and it does within 6 hours, they've won. Likewise, when we actually begin a pullout of Iraq, as we've planned to do from Day 1 when the Iraqi gov was fully fledged, they'll claim victory.
Blogger TigerHawk notes the results of a new Pew Center survey, which shows a dramatic increase in the percentage of Americans who say expanding exploration and production is more important than conservation: from 35% in February (when gas was around $3 a gallon) to 47% in June. Support has risen especially among Obama constituencies: college graduates (up 17 points), Democrats (16 points), independents (19 points), liberals (23 points) and 18- to 29-year-olds (25 points).
Normally you'd expect high gas prices to help the party out of power. But Obama's opposition to increased energy production is a weakness McCain could easily exploit. Durbin's comment may be a signal that Obama will pivot soon.
I think you have a valid point, I just hope what's running through the mind of the electorate in the voting booth is the utter lack of experience vs. a centrist moderate veteran.
Hi Sharmuta. Nice to meet you. I think that's the first time you ever spoke to me.
Rick, it just dawned on me that you might have believed my blog at face value. Please tell me this isn't true, I wouldn't feel right having fooled you.
So I am muddling through the comments over at MyBO.com, laughing my ass off, having a snack and I realize there are no adults posting over there. Good luck with that BO.
I have to admit, an Indian guy with a Southern accent is kind of... different. Fun, but different.
Yeah, I'm glad you brought this up. I'm not PC or anything, but I didn't know if it was in poor taste to mention...when I hear Jindal, I just see a Southern man -- his Indian heritage disappears.
(Pre-post clarification: It doesn't matter either way. It's just an interesting phenomenon)
I have to admit, an Indian guy with a Southern accent is kind of... different. Fun, but different.
I went on a job interview once, and they told me that the guy they were sending to pick me up from the airport was Chinese. What they failed to mention was that he was born and raised in Mississippi. I'm sure my jaw dropped when he first spoke...
This person suspects Mr Obama may not keep his word on other issues especially if he becomes President. hmmmm Maybe he is fibbing a bit? Is it possible?
I've read around the net today that some are saying that Obama is just refining his policies.
Even stipulating that this is true (and it most obviously isn't), it disqualifies Obama to be President.
Obviously any job, including being POTUS, is going to have some on the job training, but like a pilot or surgeon, you want MOST of the learning to have been done BEFORE the job is started, not during or after.
He writes that a black white cannot separate black identity from black rage against whites. He notes that most whites are uncomfortable with that equation,
Now, why would they be uncomfortable being told that all blacks who truly know their identity hate them with a rage?
/
Whereas, he is the real bigot for making such a blanket statement about the thoughts of all blacks. I would guess there are millions upon millions of blacks who are quite sure of their black identity, yet aren't racists against whites as he claims they are.
He describes this extreme racism of blacks, and blames it somehow on white racism.
But the racism here is all his own, both his openly stated rage against all whites and his presumption that all other blacks are as bigoted as he is.

Hey some of us lizards are enjoying our immature posts there.
Book about Laura Bush's sex life being discussed...from the NYT below.
"In 2004, Ms. Sittenfeld wrote a Salon piece confessing that despite her “flaming” liberalism and disdain for W.’s policies, she loved Laura Bush. She called the first lady “an easy heroine to root for — smart and nice, but just flawed enough (she still sneaks cigarettes!) to remain likable.” She identified with Laura’s omnivorous fiction reading.
In the novel, Alice, tormented by the choices her husband has made about the war that she’s stood by, blurts out to a grieving father that she thinks the war should end. In life, we can only wonder how Laura feels. "

That's exactly the opinion I got of him from his "race speech".
Obama's fans (I mean supporters) apparently weren't listening to him closely enough.
ou don't even notice the sounds of the flips and flops if you're concentrating on the ''uh's'' as Obama speaks.

Evening lizards!
Completely off topic: I sighted a car at the store this afternoon with three Impeach Bush stickers (including a giant homemade one in the rear window).
The fourth bumper sticker was "Citizens against UFO secrecy."
I never have my camera when I need it.
Yep he should. I don't personally trust the RCP polls as they do not reflect a true moving average. If you spend some time and look in side the polls that they are using you may find, on more than one poll, a very skewed demographic answering questions that are positioned for a liberal response. I really think that they are tied neck and neck and that Hillary will have a really good point of order when it comes to Denver in August.

There are no black or Chinese or Jamaican Americans.
There are simply Americans.
I think in America, we should invent a new racial category called American that refers to anyone with ancestry from two different continents and cultures. Make American mean what it should mean.
I am experiencing some glee with the idea what I said three or four years ago is beginning to come true.
In a nutshell, (many others here have said the same, I'm sure) the closer one gets to the big chair, measures that seemed heavy handed, even draconian begin to make sense.
Protecting America is a pretty big responsibility. It'd make me poop my pants. (Can I say poop here?)

Probably a Kookchinich supporter, bitter that Obama has the nomination.

I should be elected, because as President, my job would be to make our enemies poop their pants.
Obama got the moonbats' money but they don't have enough votes; so now he's moving to the "middle" because that's where the votes that get you elected reside.
But what are the heartbroken, disillusioned moonbats going to do? Demand a refund, vote for McBush, Nader or Paul? Nope, they're going to cry and whine and then in November they'll dry their tears and vote straight Democrat. Obama knows this and even the moonbats know it;
like good cadre, they'll do what they are told.
re: #219 Paul
I completely, whole-heartedly and totally disagree. These are the kind of sheople who take their toys and go home when they do not have every little thing they want...no matter how crazy!

A few hard core crazies will sit out the election but I'm fairly certain that the majority will vote. I was surfing the DU before and they're all in an uproar about FISA, but, as one DUmmie stated, "I always vote Democrat and I always vote..." After eight years they're not going to let another Republican get elected.
I'm looking forward to the Democrat convention, it's shaping up to be even more riotous than I anticipated.
amen. I enjoy listening to Michael Steele and his views. He has the necessary quotient of common sense (which is no longer common), is naturally amiable, and has great humour which are an unbeatable, inperturbable combination, against such nitwits as Al Less than Sharp-ton and Jesse NutCutter Jackson.
BOBBY JINDAL coming up. I know Charles doesn't like his ID stance, but I want to hear the guy a little more before passing judgement.
P.S.: I'm Catholic and have no difficulty reconciling evolution and my religion at all. I'm just not energised by that topic, because I don't get it.
I have no problem reconciling science and religion, as long as they don't try to hide the religious part the way these ID morons try to do. In his "Incarnations of Immortality" series, Piers Anthony pointed out that the Bible doesn't specify just how God created the world. For all we know, He could have used the primordial soup and evolution to get where we are.
I'd bet that's an idea that the Jesuits would find entertaining... :)
