An Assassination Plot Against Tony Blair

Tue, Jul 15, 2008 at 9:36:21 am PDT

Tony Blair canceled a trip to Gaza today, after Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence service uncovered an assassination plot.

GAZA CITY (AFP) - International Middle East peace envoy Tony Blair cancelled what would have been his first trip to the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Tuesday because of a security threat, his spokeswoman said.

“Unfortunately we had to cancel the visit because of a specific security threat... we had to turn back on the road,” Ruti Winterstein told AFP.

Winterstein said the former British premier was committed to visiting the impoverished Palestinian territory and hoped to schedule another trip at a later time.

Israel’s Shin Beth domestic intelligence agency warned Blair shortly before his arrival at the Gaza border that a “terror organisation” was planning to attack his motorcade, an agency official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The genocidal, murderous terrorist group Hamas says, “No way!”

But the Islamist movement Hamas, which had welcomed the visit, said it had made the appropriate security preparations and accused Israel of pressuring Blair into cancelling the trip.

“The Israeli occupation exerted great pressure to prevent Tony Blair from visiting the Gaza Strip because they did not want him to see the size of the disaster caused by the unjust blockade,” Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu said.

“The Gaza Strip is open for any visitors who want to break the blockade and see the suffering of our people,” he added in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Israeli government approved the Hizbullah prisoner swap, and Hizbullah crows loudly that they won.

They did.

And in the following months, the UN did nothing as Hizbullah regrouped, rearmed, and essentially took over the Lebanese government with veto power.

Now, they will celebrate the release of terrorists from Israeli prisons.

“The Israeli occupation exerted great pressure to prevent Tony Blair from visiting the Gaza Strip because they did not want him to see the size of the disaster caused by the unjust blockade,” Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu said.

I wonder if this would have been on Blair's tour?

Hamas using Gush Katif synagogues to train gunmen

Several videos filmed and produced by various terror organizations present gunmen training at the sites of public buildings once used in Gush Katif, including synagogues and schools.

One of the structures identifiable in the short films in the Atzmona synagogue in which the terrorists train for different scenarios with live ammunition.

Aside from Hamas, the Islamic Jihad also trains at the Jewish holy site.

The buildings serve as scenery for kidnapping scenarios and urban warfare including the invasion and “purification” of buildings. The organizations’ members also practice Krav Maga.

The drills are conducted in and outside of the buildings and damage is visible to the structures. The gunmen practice various maneuvers using light weaponry and grenades, light and heavy machine guns and antitank missiles.

Impoverished?

Do AK47's grow on trees in Paleoworld?

Beep - Beep.
I think of Hamas more as the Wiley Coyote and Israel as the Road Runner.

Thank you. :)

And, how in the world do you plead guilty to "bad taste"?
How is that even a charge? (or is it?)

* * *
Sorry I couldn't link to it, seems BBC's website didn't have yesterday's tv news bits.

I was being slightly sarcastic about their pleading to "bad taste". It's just the silly BBC newsreaders minimized the seriousness of their horrific threats against innocents--like our media do here. Don't people remember the TWA flight over Lockerbie and attacks on London trains anymore? It IS a global war, yet people carry on reporting on Apple I phones sales.

These murderous freaks had a laboratory full of chemicals and hid a thumb-drive that contained their individual farewell martyr videos against an arabic backdrop, threatening everyone for being in the Middle East, or just for being alive. Being Infidel is our crime.

I think of Israel as the twelve-pack wielding Leonidas from 300 and Hamas as the backstabbing hunchback.

'Hamas Security Arrangements'

Heheh. An oxymoron if I ever heard one.

Still, they should have let the fool in.

Let him take the same chances as everyone else.

“The Gaza Strip is open for any visitors who want to ... see the suffering of our people,” he added in a statement.

Forgive me but I can't lose the mental image of a human petting zoo.

With firearms.

Assassination plot against a peace envoy. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

95 Silhouette  Tue, Jul 15, 2008 10:27:03am

GAZA! Come for the suffering, stay for the fine dining.

96 dr.mister  Tue, Jul 15, 2008 10:30:50am

Looks like Hamas' next atrocity exhibition in Gaza will have to wait. Which means the long-delayed, oft-promised sustained anti-terror operation isn't happening anytime soon either.

In the words of Michael Ledeen,
Faster, please.

“The Gaza Strip is open for any visitors who want to break the blockade and see the suffering of our people,”

"We can't turn our eyes from the plight of Gaza. Kids, are you noticing all of this plight?"
BLAM!
"Roll 'em up!"

OT: Newest poll puts Hussein ahead with a 9 point lead, and he has essentially 100% of the black vote now.

Not online yet, but it was on Newsradio880 here...

I feel like puking.

Got to go....off to LI.

“The Israeli occupation exerted great pressure to prevent Tony Blair from visiting the Gaza Strip because they did not want him to see the size of the disaster caused by the unjust blockade,” Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu said."

Last time I saw Israel and left Gaza completely. So what 'occupation' is this nimwit talking about?

re: #94 BeerDrinking_VictoryMonkey

But outside of us- people really believe that there is a point to a peace envoy to Hamas. We know that Hamas' idea of peace is no Jews in Israel.

Israel's existence , of course.

Yep. That's why I go to the Third World on my vacations. I like to relax, surf, enjoy fine dining while seeing people starve and suffer. Guess I'm funny that way.

In other words, normal civilians can visit, but we can't vouch for the safety of former heads of state. That's a real confidence booster.

Good Lord! I didn't even know he'd had a stroke. Please tell Miguel that I wish him a Refua Shlema! Glad to hear that he has no apparent deficits.

I'm surprised, frankly, that Obama is going into Ramallah. Ramallah is a hotbed of Islamic fanaticism (well, um, like every place in teh world where Muslims are found), and Obama is an apostate. I wouldn't be surprised if there were an incident.

Boah ... that can fit on my 2 mega screens..

Winterstein said the former British premier was committed to visiting the impoverished Palestinian territory and hoped to schedule another trip at a later time.

I like the usage of word "impoverished", question is from where the impoverished territory with blockade is getting its weaponry, and money to buy such quantity of weaponry .....

GAZA! Come for the suffering, stay for the fine dining.

And afterwards, see the beautifully demolished greenhouses by the light of an early-evening rocket attack on Sderot..

Not great as far as travel brochures go, but you've gotta work with what you've got.

Uh, yeah. Either that or you were planning to murder him. I guess it is all in the interpretation.
