Obama Parrots CAIR Propaganda

Tue, Jul 15, 2008 at 8:06:56 pm PDT

That’s right; Barack Obama and the Saudi-funded radical Islamic front group calling itself the Council on American Islamic Relations are on exactly the same page: Obama says New Yorker insulted Muslim Americans.

CHICAGO - Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday that the New Yorker magazine’s satirical cover depicting him and his wife as flag-burning, fist-bumping radicals doesn’t bother him but that it was an insult to Muslim Americans.

“You know, there are wonderful Muslim Americans all across the country who are doing wonderful things,” the presidential candidate told CNN’s Larry King. “And for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it’s not what America’s all about.”

CAIR Calls New Yorker Obama Cartoon ‘Inflammatory’.

WASHINGTON, July 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy organization today called a satirical cartoon on the front cover of the New Yorker magazine inflammatory for its depiction of Barack and Michelle Obama intended to portray them as Muslim, militant, pro-terrorist, and anti-American.

In a statement, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said:

Unfortunately, the New Yorkers front cover cartoon failed to achieve its stated goal of exposing and lampooning right-wing caricatures of the Obamas. These inflammatory images and spurious associations will only serve to reinforce the racism and anti-Muslim stereotypes that the magazine says it is out to challenge.

30 doppelganglander  Tue, Jul 15, 2008 8:18:36pm

The funny part is, I don't think Obama is a Muslim (or a Christian, for that matter). But the more he whines about things like this cartoon, the more credence the stories have for average people. He definitely looks like he's hiding something, even if he isn't. At the same time, he's obviously a Muslim sympathizer, what with his relatives and all. Yet he does not understand that the American people are deeply suspicious (to put it politely) of Muslims and Muslim influence in the U.S. He can't pass himself off as a "regular American" and he's so arrogant he doesn't understand why that's a problem.

31 Walter L. Newton  Tue, Jul 15, 2008 8:18:57pm

To all the flesh-eating progressives

So, here comes an article (and, oh my gosh, a satirical cover) about the right and their effort to paint Obama as being some sort of Muslim Manchurian Candidate

This article is getting WORLD WIDE COVERAGE. Every article I have read about the New Yorker magazine mentions the CONTENT of the article and the REASON for the satirical artwork.

So, what do you humorless, PC obsessed progressives do. YOU BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU. All over the blogs and comment sections of websites, you are doing your best to make yourselves look like a bunch of mindless hicks.

Today you have the LARGEST worldwide coverage that I’ve seen yet that deals with the Rush Limpbaugh tactics of organized chaos, the religious rights paranoid fear of a middle eastern name, the corporate hold on certain media outlets, and you can’t even take one moment of your selfish lives to show a united front.

I Jan. 2007, the cover of the New Yorker had a satirical drawing of Bush as Nero, fiddling as the country burned. Where was the outrage then? Of course there wasn’t any.

Yep, and your crowning glory will be the DNC convention in Aug. in Denver, when the remaining zombies in your party finish your self-loathing souls off, while you try to re-create your last failed attempts of getting a little face time on national tv.

Front Page has a very informative interview Abul Kasem.

FP: Is Islamic cannibalism theologically rooted?

Kasem: Absolutely. The earliest example of Islamic cannibalism, after all, is found in the Qur’an itself -- in verses 9:108-110. These verses refer to the gutting of a rival mosque on the instruction of Muhammad, when he was returning after his expedition to Tabuk, a resourceful town in the Syrian-Byzantine territory. This Islamic incursion story goes like this:

Proceeding further from Tabuk on his way to Medina, Muhammad halted at Dhu Awan at Quba (about 4 kms. from Medina), an hour’s journey from Medina. There, an opposition Muslim group had built a mosque. Previously, while Muhammad was making preparations for the march to Tabuk, this group of Muslims approached him and said, “O Messenger of God, we have built a mosque for the sick and needy and for rainy and cold nights, and we would like you to visit us and pray for us”(The History of al Tabari, vol.ix, p.61). Busy with his preparations for Tabuk expedition, Muhammad excused himself from visiting this newly-built mosque, but assured the dissident group that he would call on their mosque while returning to Medina (from Tabuk).

On his return journey from Tabuk and halting at Dhu Awan, Muhammad accused builders of this mosque of being unjust. Without any warning, he sent a band of jihadists to burn and destroy the freshly constructed mosque. He said to his band of hooligans, “Go to this mosque whose owners are unjust people and destroy and burn it” (ibid, p.61). His band of raging arsonists stealthily entered the bustling mosque and set fire to it when it was filled with people assembled for the evening prayer. The worshippers dispersed in utter terror. Allah promptly sent down verse 9:107, 110, justifying the destruction of opposition mosques. To further validate his gutting of this mosque, Muhammad concocted the story that he suspected that the builders of the ‘Mosque of Dissent’ were planning to assassinate him.

Long interview read the whole thing.

Yeppers.

The problem I have with this is that the MSM will give both Obama and CAIR a pass on this.... again.

I could hope for the better, but that would be seriously discounting Obama's and the MSM's Wilsonian progressivism.

PS: there's a great story on Obama's Messianism over at City Journal.

The danger of Obama’s charismatic healer-redeemer fable lies in the hubris it encourages, the belief that gifted politicians can engender a selfless communitarian solidarity. Such a renovation of our national life would require not only a change in constitutional structure—the current system having been geared to conflict by the Founders, who believed that the clash of private interests helps preserve liberty—but also a change in human nature. Obama’s conviction that it is possible to create a beautiful politics, one in which Americans will selflessly pursue a shared vision of the common good, recalls the belief that Dostoyevsky attributed to the nineteenth-century Russian revolutionists: that, come the revolution, “all men will become righteous in one instant.” The perfection would begin.

Go read the whole thing.

The cover of the magazine, which hit newsstands Monday, depicts Obama in traditional Muslim clothing — sandals, robe and turban — while his wife, Michelle, has an assault rifle slung over one shoulder and is dressed in camouflage and combat boots with her hair in an Afro. A flag burns in a fireplace behind them as they bump fists, and a portrait of Osama bin Laden hangs above the mantel. (emphasis added)

It's not just any old flag -- it's an American flag. But of course the writer has to cover that up, because the Left knows it's taboo. People might actually care to wonder why Obama would be connected to burning a U.S. flag.

By the same token, what the hell is an African American? This uses the same flawed logic in its concept. They are not from Africa but they are Americans. Should whites call themselves British Americans or German Americans or possibly even European Americans?

Folks we are ALL AMERICANS (those of us that are legally here) and this "labeling" must stop or we will never get past the racial and religious separation they incite. The sooner we become AMERICANS the better off we all will be. We are not separate - we are equal or we are nothing.

Cartoons about Muslims as terrorists and the like is inflammatory but Muslims flying airplanes into buildings full of people, blowing themselves up in subways, trains and buses, beheading people left and right, using children as human shields and suicide bombers, stoning women to death, killing their offspring and relatives for "honor", oppressing and degrading non-Muslims in Muslim lands, marrying pre-pubescent girls off to older men against their will, subjugating women in every way imaginable and working to impose Islam on all people isn't inflammatory? Okay! Got it!

What the Sam Hill is a "Muslim American", anyway? I've never heard of a Christian-American, or a Hindu-American before.

Someone needs to update the PC book...it's getting harder and harder to keep up.

Great observation!

Speaking ill of the Royal Governor of New York in his newspaper got John Peter Zenger jailed, and his newspapers confiscated and burned in the streets of Manhattan by the Public Hangman. He also was put on trial for seditious libel of the Crown. Jury nullification freed him.

Looks like Barack Obama and American Muslims are headed down the same path as their Canadian brethren, towards suppression of free speech as "offensive" to Muslims. I'm waiting for Obama to propose the creation of American Human Rights Commissions with powers to prosecute and jail those who offend through speech.

Muslim victimhood has long been part of the Lightworker's playbook. On the stump during his run for the Senate one of his applause lines (even to Jewish groups) was that he will put a stop to Muslims being rounded up by the government in the middle of the night (I think he has seen one too many Resse Witherspoon movies). If I am not mistaken this survived his long hard years when he used to be a Senator and he even made that claim in ad during the primaries in Texas.

One of the Lefties at my job made the same comment and then said he would move to Canada if McCain wins. Remember: people have to keep their word!re: #10 jaunte

Oh, but don't you understand - that is a "cultural" misunderstanding! We have to be "sensitive".

Obama now says The New Yorker cover is offensive to Muslim Americans.

Why would Americans who happen to be Muslims be offended?

The New Yorker cover actually pokes satire at two anti-American, anti white, black liberation theology, marxist charlatans

And those are their good points.

That it is insulting to Muslims sounds like a defensive reflex response as well as a deflection.
Not much thought or consideration put into it either.
