CNN Whitewashes Monstrous Palestinian Child Abuse Video

Wed, Jul 16, 2008 at 3:08:53 pm PDT

Here’s another mind-boggling example of CNN’s bias, as they show a horrific video of the indoctrination of 5-year old Palestinian children into terrorism—and clip out the worst part.

Here’s the CNN report, and here’s the full video of this depraved event:

Youtube Video

Second Draft has the full story behind the video, and CNN’s selective editing: CNN Cannot be Trusted- Here’s Why.

My last post about CNN correspondent Ben Wedeman’s July 10th report from Nablus warned that we were working on major aspects of this report and had serious concerns about the honesty and accuracy of it. There is now good reason to believe that Wedeman and CNN have seriously compromised their professional and ethical obligations in this matter.

It has been confirmed to Second Draft by reliable Israeli sources that the short clip of the Kindergarten graduation “festivities” that Wedeman used in that report is actually part of a much longer and extremely disturbing video which we at Second Draft have now posted on YouTube.

It has further been confirmed by Second Draft’s source that the full length video which had been confiscated by the Israeli Defense Force had been given to CNN as an exclusive with the understanding that it represented clear and undeniable evidence that the Palestinian Authority is not complying with one of the basic responsibilities it has undertaken as part of the ongoing negotiations to stop intentionally fomenting hatred and violence.

The sequence in the YouTube video that begins 6 seconds in is particularly horrific. The camera work is bad but you can clearly see that the children dressed as Palestinian “fighters” are acting out an assault on and murder of children dressed as and playing the role of unsuspecting Israeli soldiers. The “dead Israelis” are then dragged across the stage. The clip Wedeman used showed the dragging (without explanation of the uniforms) without the murder sequence.

The Colombian hostage rescue as a war crime, now this. The media are truly the enemy. The media-industrial complex is not just an unelected shadow government, as I have often said, they are a hostile and ruthless occupying force.

I wonder what the quid pro quo with the Pali for the news is.

Remember this?

C-N-N's chief news executive Eason Jordan recently admitted that he withheld reports he says would have jeopardized the safety of Iraqis in C-N-N's Baghdad bureau and Iraqis who had been in contact with C-N-N reporters. The confession has shocked other parts of the American media who accuse C-N-N of sacrificing its journalistic duty by deferring to Saddam's regime in order to keep its Baghdad bureau open. VOA's Serena Parker examines this debate in today's Focus.

That is an incredibly biased CNN news report.

Thanks for posting the actual video; I can make sure people see the entire thing, not just the part CNN wants us to see, so that we feel "sorry" for the "poor pathetic" Palis.

That CNN could have that entire video, and then do that report with it, is utterly disgusting.

BTW - I was so disgusted at the AP caption about the 2 Afghan women "chatting" as they awaited being murdered, that I wrote to AP to complain. I asked for a response. This was 2 days ago. I've heard nothing.

CNN, Saddam's acknowledged mouthpiece. AKA "We told lies to protect our Iraq journalists (and make lots of money)". What logic will CNN use to justify this one? I suspect they will use the same excuse only because CNN shows little creativity and believes their viewers are idiots. Why else would any watch CNN?

CNN has a bunch of Arab-loving, Jew-hating "journalists" on their roster.

They should simply merge with al-jazeera and be done with it.

CNN, has a bad track record of shilling for the other guys.
Remember the video they showed of snipers in Iraq shooting & killing our troops? The photographer was right over the shooters shoulder.
You could actually make out the features of the soon to be killed US soldiers.
When Wolfe Blitzer was confronted, he weakly claimed that it was to show how nasty war is. Uh huh
It had the effect of making the enemy look like crack shots & our guys just hapless targets.

There's a special place in hell for those who fill innocent kids with such hate and especially for the depraved "journalists" who are complicit in twisting this filth as innocent.

"Wedeman is not just a fool and a dupe, he is so much less than that, he is a greedy, duplicitous liar who is trying to serve too many masters. The savagery of the images which he minimizes and the evil to which he caters on a regular basis all the while pretending to "evenhandedness and professional integrity is, simply, hollow and disgusting."

No.
Because no one who follows the news out of that area would be so ignorant, much less someone who makes the news out of there.
When I think of Rabbi Niemöller's poem I always assumed we would know they came for the Jews, the Catholics, the trade unionists, etc., but CNN's ''coverage'' calls into question whether we will know in advance of them coming for us.

46 Daisy  Wed, Jul 16, 2008 3:55:25pm

But if CNN showed the whole damned video, then how could they claim that the Israelis are oppressing the Palestinians?

A real journalist would have shown the Principal saying they are not affliated with Hamas, followed immediately by the tape showing the kids in Hamas outfits.

Instead, they air "Israel says the schools are affliated with Hamas, but see, this Principal who is actually from the school says they are wrong." and then several minutes later when we've forgotten all that, "Oh, and here is a split second of film that seems to show bad things, but it was sent to us by Israel, so, consider the source."

CNN is a part of the media/academic/political elite, and the m/a/p elite has decided that the world is going to be deeply integrated... no matter what.

If they have to lie to maintain their multi-culti, "we're-all-really-the-same" illusion, well, then they'll lie. Openly, boldly, and enthusiastically.

The good must be dirtied; the honest defamed, while the ugly are sanctified and the brutal ignored... all in the name of a forced and dishonest veneer of "equality".

Of course, they have little ability to actually change the deficient cultures, only enough to pretend they have, so conflict becomes inevitable... and will only grow as dissimilar cultures increasingly grate against each other.

If CNN actually showed the whole videotape, they would then have to concoct a few more al Duras to balance things out again. A lie in the service of the multi-culti agenda beats the truth hands down. That is the new reality in our post-modern world.

I am still trying to figure out how I survived all the toy guns I bought as a child. From the Thompson S/M to the Mattel "Multi-gun(TM)" I had them all. According to western liberal journalistic dogma I should be a mass murderer.
Why does CNN suppress video of Palestinian school children acting out the murder of Jews with toy weapons? If the same act occurred in a US school this would be front page headlines! Maybe not, I bet the Saudi school in Virginia would get full support and suppression of the story by our MSM and the Feds if it was true....

You are not just hypothesizing.

They attack Jews all over the planet and have the audacity to claim it is only over Israel. If they truly only had a problem with those who've come to "steal" their land, you would think they would love those Jews that ignore the call to Israel and live elsewhere.

This nothing new. I live in an area where all the major American and Canadian TV networks are available as well as several originally independent multi-ethnic TV stations.
Some years ago there was coverage of Widow Allende arriving at some function in Chile. She exited the car, and was apparently smiling and waving over the roof of the car toward the cameramen standing in the street, and then going inside. All news programs showed the same clip except one. The independent TV station's Latin America News show had the complete video clip: as she went inside, the camera swung around to show that she had really been waving to a huge crowd across the street carrying a sea of communist flags.

Were the big outlets too pressed for time to show the whole clip?

They were showing them innocently playing on the playground and focused on that while they showed the HAMAS footage for a couple of seconds, but what they are saying without meaning to is that the closures are keeping them out of indoctrination and onto the playground.

of course it is, Just like Samir Kuntar was a Guerilla involved in an assault that left children dead. Not a terrorist who crushed a 4 year olds skull.

CNN doesn't make policy yet. If CNN disgusts you, read how disgusting Bush and Rice are:

Civil Fights: Hizbullah's next pretext

UN EXPERTS are therefore currently mapping the border. But the US is not even waiting for their conclusions: It has already decided that Shaba must be given to Lebanon. Last month, the Lebanese daily Al-Hayat quoted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as telling Lebanese officials that Washington was working to secure Israel's withdrawal from Shaba. And Israeli officials told the Israeli press they had received the same message from both Rice and President George W. Bush.

Even more astonishing, however, is the reasoning Rice and Bush offer for abandoning the Security Council's unanimous decision of 2000: They want to support the Lebanese government, they say, and the best way to do so is for Israel to give Shaba to Lebanon, thereby removing Hizbullah's latest excuse for retaining its arms.

re: #72 melinwy

very moving video, and what a contrast on the care and raising of the children

It literally moves me to tears. I cannot imagine what it must be like. I remember drills during the Korean War, when we had to duck and cover in the school corridors, but it really was not scary as Korea was so far away..and the blackout curtains, etc., during WWII? They were a part of my childhood, and I know of no other lifestyle. And the Air Raid shelters? A part of the scenery.

But this, in a tiny country smaller than NJ, on a nearly daily basis? The resilience of the children is amazing, but it has to effect them.

As Golda Meir zt"l said: 'We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us..

We can clearly see that this will not happen to the arabs any time soon.

CNN obviously included the video only to reinforce the message of that story: Israelis = bad, poor Palestinians. An easy story for them to write. This is just one more in the long stream of reports from most of the MSM that take this view.

On the other hand, Israel pushing forward a two-year old video as proof of why they are doing something today is weak. And trusting CNN, equally weak. I agree with their message, but their political tactical sense is lacking.

Its the new fashion in news: if you are a good editor you can make anything say anything. Just get the raw footage and let the scissors do the talking.

Let me say these 4 things about CNN:

1 - CNN has no professional and ethical obligations to journalism at all.
2 - CNN have no morals, no conscience, no objective, balanced approach to reporting and no respect for the public's intelligence.
3 - CNN has no professional and ethical obligations to inform the public with straight facts and honest answers.
4 - CNN has zero credibility as a major news network.

As far as I'm concerned, CNN is dead and floating in the water. Let the piranhas devour on it!

I haven't checked the online version, but on my commute onto post this morning, BBC World News Round-up (6AM EST XM Radio) pretty much ignored the horrific crimes this man is responsible for as well, though they mentioned he was responsible for the deaths of two young children, they went to great lengths to indicate he was not a member of Hezbollah, as if that makes it better.

The fact that Samir Kuntar, murderer of a four year old girl in cold blood, is treated as a hero by those who claim to be representatives of Islam is the root cause of Islamophobia. What is CAIR's comments on the release of Samir Kuntar and the celebrations in Lebanon?

re: #62 brakes

What idiot thought up having all these little kids doing somersaults holding sticks. It's a wonder they didn't poke each other's eyes out.
/mom mode off.

I saw that too... Great Moms Think Alike, I guess.

Two Bible verses come to mind:

Luke 17:2
It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

At first i blamed the Israelis who provided the footage to CNN - why did they give this footage exclusively to a network with a known leftist bias? Why not FOX? Maybe they were counting on international exposure through CNN international? Even then they should have forseen that whitewash will take place.

Is there FOX international or something like that?

prolly the darling tykes and families are the 30 percenters of palestinian culture, the rest get to lament their offspring being fanatacized into death cult vessels of saudi, syrian and iranian malice.

The most important motivating factor for whitewashing stories like this one is the over-powering aversion to causing any offense. Being inoffensive, even at the expense of honesty, has become a central ethic of the modern liberal. All cultures must be viewed with an unbiased eye (which means your eyes, too) even if we all have to wear darkly rose-tinted glasses to achieve it.

In Jan 2002, Wafa Idris became the first Palestinian female suicide bomber. killing 81 year old Israeli man [Pinchas Toktaly] and injuring scores.

Her mother was interviewed, claiming she was proud of her daughter and hoped more women will follow her example.

However, several months later, Ben Wederman interviewed Wafa Idris' mother again and this time she claimed that if she had known what her daughter was planning, she would have locked her up indoors.

Was it possible her mom had a change of heart? Possibly. But the tone of the piece produced by Ben Wedeman appeared to be an attempt to downplay the Palestinian's propensity for rejoicing at terror attacks perpetrated by their kin.

In the recent bulldozer terror attack in Jerusalem, Ben Wederman appeared to be at pains to disclaim that it was a terror attack. His main point being the terrorist had no known political associations. I suppose he isn't aware of the phenomenon of sudden jihad syndrome, or of other instances of individual Arabs committing terrorists attacks.

For two bodies? In coffins?
Soldiers who were supposed to be alive?
What were they thinking........

Next trade they should repay in kind.....and offer to turn every one of the prisoners they have over to them at one time....I do believe they respect strength, would this not be the way to "speak to them in their own language?"
