That's a valid question. It isn't one that has a name to my knowledge. I don't expect it to ever have one since it would basically brand an entire political POV as abnormal. However, when someone chooses to refuse reality even when their life is at risk (terrorism etc.), there is no other explanation in such a case. Again, it is not an excuse since they do or should know what the consequences are. They choose not to face them.

OT-yet strangely on-the token 9/11 "truther" asked Adam Savage of Mythbusters why they hadn't modeled WTC 1&2 to "bust" the 9/11 myth. At a hacker conference. In New York. Surprisingly, the guy did earn some boos from the crowd.
Savage's response was that they had thought about it but that there was no way that they could build an accurate model (I believe him on this; the guy is an expert modelmaker and I've done enough model building myself to know it's a nontrivial task). He looked really uncomfortable about taking the question.
I'm not saying that Adam Savage is a closet "truther" in ANY way. He did and said NOTHING that would indicate that.
Also, I suspect that if Adam and Jamie were to model the WTC, the truthers wouldn't accept the results if the model didn't support their side.

This week on my trip to DC: Instead of the Mayflower, I stayed at the JW Marriott on Pennsylvania Ave....Reagan building is right across the street. How lucky was that? Our next president, Mr. Obama was delivering his speech at 10:45 am. I could see all the activity on the street. It was pretty impressive.

I spoke to alot of cabbies and asked them to put voter registration cards in their cabs. They were totally open to it. The mentioned they had fear the republicans would "play dirty tricks" to win. One of the taxi drivers told me Obama was going to take him as his running mate. I said, "Oh yeah...why?" He laughed: "My last name is McCain! We'll confuse everyone!" He also told me his ancestors were the first servants at the whitehouse. That's pretty cool I thought.

I walked over to Macy's and saw a big republican lookin’ white guy, his whole family of kids behind him. Do you know what he was wearing..."Obama for President" tee shirt. I had to laugh out loud. I probably would not see that in Texas.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about the New Yorker cover, that it was a method to scare people about Obama being "foreign". A homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the Macy's lifted his head and said, "You got that right, Sister!"

There was an Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Organization event in the JW. The ladies were dressed in a sea of pink and green and man...they were FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!

That isn't really the point here, though. The First Amendment only speaks to the ability of the government to limit speech, not to that of private parties. No one has a constitutional "right" to post hate speech at someone's website, and the owner of the website has to take the consequences if he/she doesn't take steps to police the site so that it conforms to his/her values.

Look at the other blogs/comments made by this person at the Obama website. Hate speech is hate speech, but I think she (if it's a she) is mentally ill. Seriously.
