McClatchy's Jerusalem Head: Kickin' It With a Child Killer

Mon, Jul 21, 2008 at 8:52:26 am PDT

I’ve never seen a better demonstration of the mainstream media’s collusion with terrorists and murderers than this post at the blog of McClatchy Newspapers Jerusalem bureau chief Dion Nissenbaum: Kickin’ it with Samir Kuntar.

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Samir Kuntar is sitting under a photo of himself standing next to Hassan Nasrallah and telling friends that he almost didn’t come home.

As Israel was getting ready to free Kuntar last Wednesday, the Lebanese militant told guards that he didn’t want to walk to freedom in a prison uniform.

When the Israeli guards refused, Kuntar said he told them to call off the deal.

“I’ve kept my dignity for 30 years,” Kuntar said he told his jailers, “I’m not going to give it up in the last half hour.”

The standoff lasted until the guards called their superiors, who eventually agreed to let Kuntar go free in civilian clothes.

Once free after nearly 30 years, Kuntar traded the civilian clothes for military fatigues and delivered a defiant threat to return to his militant mission.

In Israel, Kuntar is seen as an unrepentant child killer.

Here in his Druze village in the cool pine mountains outside Beirut, he is a hero.

“When he was little, he used to be humble with the spirit of a fighter,” said a woman who works at the corner market near Kuntar’s family home. “When he came out, he was the same way. He fought for his cause. He was patriotic.”

Perhaps, but the Druze are a small minority living in a sea of angry Muslims. What ever a member of that Druze Village says about Kuntar---It is often just for public consumption and not really a true indication of their real feelings. Kuntar is a pig, but most Druze are not.

I believe Israel will have the last word in this latest Olmert atrocity and this beast Kuntar will be silenced. But, may I ask why Israel does not have the death sentence for brutes like him? The IDF seems to have to problem killing Hamas leaders by whatever means, and yet when they are caught still alive they are coddled beyond all reason. I guess I am missing something here as it didn't seem to do two kidnapped Israeli soldiers a bit of good either.

Trading live butchers for the remains of anyone does not seem equitable to me no matter the Jewish perspective on remains, spirit and soil. And most cruel the despicable Hezbollah defying all decency. I hope this shows the world the real face of Islam.

It is worth noting that essentially all Israeli traitors, dealing with Hizbollah, have been Druze.

In Israel, Kuntar is seen as an unrepentant child killer.

Well, maybe that has something to do with the fact that he actually is an unrepentant child killer.

100 Alibaba  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 10:03:45am

I disagree with giving back this baby killer - but note the differenr reactions from Israel and from the barbarians in Lebanon. In Lebanon they cheer for the child killer while in Israel they mourn the deaths of the two soldiers. The Hezzies think they have obtained a "great victory" because civilized people mourn - they haven't.re: #4 Killgore Trout

Oh, but you don't understand: she was " Zionist" baby, so in the twisted logic of the Islamofascists and their sympathizers, she "had it coming". Here, in NYC, the subway is launching a "convert to Islam" ad campaign in time for 9/ 11, sponsored by the local head of a madassah who had no problem with 9/11 and has defended these disgusting assaults on civilization. I am hoping that there is enough outrage from even cynical New Yorkers, to put a stop to this. It is in today's NY Post.

Hmm, to members of the addle brained press, you really should use more discretion in whom you keep company with. Being so physically close to terrorists and child murderers may result in an on the job accident.

106 lifeofthemind  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 10:10:25am

Israel should announce just once that the CEP (circular error of probability) of a bomb strike on this man is say 25 yards. Anyone who is closer to him than that has fair warning that Israel accepts no responsibility for what happens.

While you condemn those who praise Kuntar, remember, even if painfully, that Bush and Rice never tire of praising Abbas-who went out of his way to praise Kuntar.

The repulsion is spread far and wide.

Remember the game '6 degrees of Kevin Bacon'?

When it comes to our admin, there is easily only 2 degrees of separation between Bush and Rice, and unrepentant mass murderers (of Jews only, mind you).

Israel should kick out Nissenbaum.

110 pegcity  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 10:33:30am

to all the fucking newspapers, this piece of shit was not involved in a raid that killed 2 children, he smashed a 4 year olds skull on a wall.

111 Carolyn  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 10:35:35am

If the little girl he murdered was a member of my family, I would make it my life's work to "get up close" to this monster.

I think this article actually has value, and Nissenbaum has done a useful service.

He has provided a glimpse into the state of mind of the Lebanese.

Know your enemy, etc.

I don't see it as a puff piece, at all.

It is actually reasonably objective.

Here in his Druze village in the cool pine mountains outside Beirut, he is a hero.

The cool pine breezes caress the skin of a sociopathic murderer, exulting in his 15 minutes of fame, courtesy of the Israeli Government and depraved Lebanese adulation.

He seems to be saying 'This is the reality. What do you make of it?'

I can't even adequately express my bewilderment and confusion when I see stuff like this, when I see so many people around the world cheering on these subhuman barbarians and demonizing Jews. Worse are all those who just look on, blankly, vacuously, as if it's no big deal.

Thank God for LGF. Truly. I often feel that this is one of the few places ON EARTH where the humans congregate.

114 Carolyn  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 10:42:22am

When a sufficient number of Americans can answer the following question, we will be on the road to protecting ourselves from Islam: What kind of religion causes people to think that terrorizing, mutilating, and murdering is a good thing to do?----Isaiah 5:20 says: Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

There was another component of this repulsive trade. The barbarians got to celebrate another heroine.

People always ask if there ever was an independent Palestine. Here is your answer. There was, on a bus, for a few hours.

Al Jazeera joins in the celebrations:

Going to pontificate for a second..

If there ever was a definition of injustice, this is it. However, consider the amount of press coverage this has gotten. Not a "lot," but certainly more than usual for these sort of issues.

The entire situation is a perfect demonstration of the issues and the juxtaposition shows the two cultures in perfect chiaroscuro.

I believe firmly that at least the "thinking people" who read about this have taken notice.

There is one redeeming aspect to this situation: Sami’s back in play again.

Jeopardy/double jeopardy, sentencing, all those legal constructs, are no longer applicable. Even better, Sami’s talking about how he might resume his career as a militant. He must really want a chance at a second 15 minutes of fame.

Example of militants doing a meet-and-greet with many of their supporters here.

But the trend seems to be towards less fanfare and smaller groups; old-school style. Perhaps Sami’s next interview will be more like this (starting at about the 7:00 mark). Guess how it ends.

But being several thousand miles away, I can only speculate what might happen.

Sami K.: the man who got a chance at a second 15 minutes of fame.

Is it worth the cost?

My local paper is a McCatchy. Local news (by local reporters) is fine. The entire "A" section is wire service stories, including those by McCatchy. Very liberal. They repeatedly run stories on how screwed up our veterans are, they oppose the WOT. And recently they ran a multi-part article on how innocent the Gitmo prisoners are.

122 PeaceAtAllCosts  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 2:09:11pm

The Israeli Government and electorate are spineless. The thought of releasing this rabid mongrel to perpetrate further murders makes my skin crawl. My feelings for Israel and her secular government and citizenry are constantly put to the test. I hate to admit that I am becoming fed up with the "former" Jewish homeland.

I'm afraid Israel has become a state of Dhimmis and appeasers.

Once free after nearly 30 years, Kuntar traded the civilian clothes for military fatigues and delivered a defiant threat to return to his militant mission.

Not a problem. Next time he's encountered on the battlefield, don't take him prisoner, take him OUT.

125 Colonel Panik  Mon, Jul 21, 2008 5:59:17pm

"Kickin' it". He's really "down" with the hip-hop lingo. Makes it sound like he is interviewing a rap star and not an islamofascist thug who caved some poor little girls head in after shooting her father.

Come to think of it, a lot of "rap stars" exhibit similar behavior although not quite to this guys extreme.

I expect we will be seeing more headlines and articles of this caliber if the Obamahdi gets elected.

I am sick of the 5th columnist columnists in the media.

The MOO-slims,if asked, Always wins and Israel always loses. They are the ultimate optimists and have ignorant masses in the "arab street" that believe whatever is on T.V..
But in this instance the Israeli's, in their attempt to comfort the families, got the short end of the stick. Unfortunately for the MOO-slims, Israel cannot survive if the MOO-slims get to feeling good about their selves soooo within the next couple of weeks the Israeli's will hit someone or something big. Can't have those damned MOO-slim bastards thinking they can get one up on the Zionists. Couple of options open to the Israeli's
1. Hit Nasrallah
2. Bomb Bekkah Valley(doubt it, dug in too well)
3. Blow a certain nuclear enrichment facility to kingdom come and maybe spread a little nuke dust downwind.
4. Clean up the mess from the previous Lebanon excursion with a sea/air invasion of Beirut catching Hez tween the pincers.
5. Last but not least Bomb Assad's palace's. They like sticking a finger in his eye from time to time just to remind him they can.

“I’ve kept my dignity for 30 years,” Kuntar said he told his jailers,

Where was his dignity when he caved in that little girl's skull with the butt of his rifle?

How dare this scumbag talk about dignity. He is bankrupt in every human value.
