You simply have to create the impression that you are permanently offended by everything. This state of affairs will help you to advance your agenda with YouTube etc., because you know, they really don't want to irritate easily-irritated people.

It would be a nice idea to invent a religion that has an aversion to wearing socks. Seriously, just produce some old documents of the holy religion of the saint shoe, where wearing socks is seen as the grandest blasphemy to the Great Shoe. And then make people remove their socks because thesy insult your religion. It would work (with a less silly example).
/Seriously, presenting yourself as an offended person, mixing some religious "stuff" into the whole thing, will really advance the silliest agendas.
In Britain, police dogs now have to wear special shoes in order to not offend Muslims.

The Change is to place him as the Anti-Bush. (which since some say Bush ran as the Christ figure....it opens an interesting conversation). This is the Change.
He is simply (as I take it) saying that Bush is the bad, and he will Change it from Bush. Since "everyone" hates Bush it is a hollow yet perfect campaign slogan. It has the added benefit of putting anyone that isn't Obam'uh into the No-Change camp, and thus the Just-Like-Bush camp. The fact that change is enivitable, as Bush isnt' running again, is pretty helfpul too.

I can't say that I'm surprised. There's no way to review these things for content automatically, and there's far too many of them to be previewed before they're allowed online. People always find a way to exploit a weakness.
The entire concept of Web 2.0, with user-generated content replacing professionally prepared materials, was a disaster waiting to happen. It's an idea that sounds good in theory, as long as you ignore human nature. (The fatal flaw of so many leftist goals.) It never considers the potential for abuse, whether by hate groups to spread their propaganda, or by ideologues spreading their views. It's why YouTube is a cesspool and why so many articles in Wiki are biased.

My point was, and still is, the ability for self-gratification which YouTube deliberately markets.

I know. We were in Toronto a number of times during the Zundel mess. I was sad to see that it seems to take about as long to deport a nazi from Canada as it does here.
If anyone wants to report the nazi who has that shit on his pages? Here is the page with his CV on the left, and on it there is a place to hit 'report'.
It also has a bog, or site, it seems, but I just do not want to go there.

No link, personal experience. Was in the Holiday Inn lounge with my wife for our anniversary and lit up a beautiful CAO MX2. Lounge was full of smokers puffing on those dried up little bitter things they call cigarettes. Manager came over and told me I would have to put out my cigar. Even worse my wife had an aromatic and they made her put it out. Cigar discrimination of the worst kind. They advised me they don't allow cigars there. I informed them they had lost my business and all the cigar smokers I know.

Islam is not known for its humor! The really sad thing is the west is bending over backward to accommodate fundamentalist radical Islam. No humor, no education, female oppression and subjugation are all tolerated by governments that would normally arrest a Christian for doing the same. Not only are Europeans giving into Radicals, in England, they will give you a fine house, and provide complete welfare for large families allowing more time to concentrate on local Muslim domination of communities.

OH, no, no, no! I hope I didn't come across as being hyper-critical! Since you ask, though, I'll explain. Your comment was:
I'd have explosive sniffing pigs. But that's just me.
The only minor error was leaving out the hyphen between "explosive" and "sniffing" in order to make them a single compound adjective modifying the noun, "pig": I'd have explosive-sniffing pigs. But that's just me.
You began your second sentence with the coordinating conjunction "but," which, strictly speaking, creates a fragment, but in the informal atmosphere of blogs, it is entire;y permissible.

re: #129 LoFlyer
Your statements are true. Although we need to respect all religions, there is no place for giving special treatment, or changing the underlying secular rules to appease a religous fundemental law (whether it be Christian, Islamic, or Halachic)
For some odd reason the West is doing just that. Beyond the obvious, the problem is that Islam sees these types of imperialism, victories, and growth as evidence of Islams' superiority over the "infidels". (as they are instructed to by Mohammad in the Q'uran).
Therefore, every accomodation is actually more than just a liberal accomodation.

Just saw this. WWII and the Holocaust are subjects which are dear to my heart; I've been studying them since I was a child.
I have not seen the videos, but I would strongly suggest that they be watched for on other reason that to gather ammunition for future arguments. The revisionists usually rely on only a few bases for their opinions and if you can isolate and refute those bases, then their whole argument falls to the ground.
As for the forensic studies of whether there is cyanide residue on the walls of the ruins, and other such "evidence" I'd say there's more credible scientific evidence to support intelligent design than there is to support these revisionist theories.

Search YouTube for 10 minutes and you will find they have everything....the worst of the worst.....(and the best of the best)
Just for starters, it's difficult or impossible to find clips of Saturday Night Live sketches, classic or recent, on YouTube -- which might have something to do with the fact that NBC Universal (the parent company of NBC, which owns SNL) threatened to sue YouTube to the tune of $100K or so per copyright infringement.
Thus, YouTube will host videos claiming that Hitler was a misunderstood genius, but no videos of Chris Kattan as Gay Hitler on Ice!™ from SNL's "Weekend Update."

Hey, here is an interesting conundrum....
I'm doing business with a guy and he and his bat-shit crazy (English) wife treat me like they are giving me charity.
I'm buying their service and paying handsomely for it, yet they treat me like shit.
What's up with that and how do I deal with it?

On Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the four-month-old Chandra Levy story quickly dropped off the front pages of newspapers around the world.
[snip]
Guandique, the informant said, confessed to murdering a woman in the park named Chandra Levy, the intern whose picture had been splashed all over television. There was more: Guandique said Rep. Gary Condit paid him to do it. He didn't realize who Condit was until he later saw his picture on TV. Guandique had been walking in the Adams Morgan neighborhood when a car pulled to the curb. Condit offered him money - $25,000 to kill a woman. The congressman provided him with her picture and a location where he could find her.
[snip]
Gladys Joseph, a lawyer with the D.C. Public Defender Service who was assigned to represent Guandique, tried to persuade the judge to give her client a light sentence. "Mr. Guandique was trying to get a Walkman and go. And really just did something incredibly stupid, and incredibly dangerous, even to himself," Joseph said.Shilling had a different take.
"I reject the notion that he intended to simply rob me," she told the judge that day. "This attack was a physical one, pure and simple. He stalked me for a mile. He attacked me with a knife. We struggled on the ground. He left my valuables on the path when he fled. I do not doubt for a second that, given the chance, he would repeat this crime against another woman. I would request that this person be given the harshest possible sentence for his crime."

I'm more pro. Society has the obligation to defend itself. Living in society is a bi-lateral contract. A criminal violates that contract, by violating the rights of others then society can suspend the criminals rights with due process.
For heinous offenses, a offender can in my opinion be deprived of life. This is society protecting it's self from the offender, and making clear such action are not acceptable.

In all the coverage of Kuntar the motivation of his "mission" has been mostly neglected. Likely just relegated as just another kill the Jews operation.
Kuntar's attack on Israel was to protest the Camp David Accords.
On Sadat, Ayman al-Zawahiri was a leader of the group that killed Sadat. Ask mom if the name sounds familair. It should, he is today the number two guy in al-Qaeda

A commenter upthread asks if we (the State in a free, moral, western nation) should tolerate Satanism, and THAT IS EXACTLY what 'The Devil and Daniel Webster' was illustrating, way back then...
To consider ourselves a JUST nation, we must consider JUSTICE for the most evil of terrorist scumbags, Satan/Beelzebub.

As long as they break no laws otherwise, the State MUST respect their individual rights under the common law. We need not admire, like or much tolerate their beliefs, but We, the People, have no inherent collective 'right' or 'obligation' to persecute them solely because they claim to worship The Evil One.

"Rasta" -
There certainly are things that are worse than death. And, in THIS WORLD, there is nothing more permanent. The key is to keep "the State" out of the loop.
-S-
The modern Western notion that the State should be "out of the loop" in killing is a direct result, IMO, of the State assuming more and more the character of a Church. (The medieval Church executed no one, not even heretics, all of whom were turned over to the State, whose office was to bear the temporal sword.) Thus the State has taken over charity and education, among other things, from the Church, and now is beginning to excuse itself from secular duties by claiming scruples more befitting clergy.
I would also say that any society that categorically refuses to inflict capital punishment is a society that has declared it will not defend itself. If the state is too holy to wield the sword against the vilest of criminals, by what logic or right can it ask me, let alone tell me, to kill an enemy soldier?
(That being said, my sentiments are with you.)

Very True, Very Unfortunate. Israel since 1948 has had NO DEATH PENALTY, (Officially), except for Eichmann. it is amazing that crimes of the 1930's/40's can be prosecuted to the extent of a death penalty, even happening outside the borders of Eretz Yisroel, and more current crimes cannot. As to the "Un-Official" - that is what MOSSAD is for. Discussion?

We as a society accept a certain rate of these accidents.
Why a zero tolerance when dealing with criminals? Why not accept a certain rate of accidental convictions?
Accidents are a part of living, mistakes by the State are a part of living.
If it was arbitrary I have a problem. But if the State and it's agents act in good faith, I don't.
Just like we learn from all mistakes, we learn from these and go on.

Fully understand. I think that there would be less accidents if the "punishment" was more strict and actually enforced the existing laws. Hypothetical scenario – would you talk on your cell phone if you knew that you were going to get 10 years in jail if you are involved in an accident (your fault or not)?
OT – can you add a friend of mine to your prayer list? His name is Stan. He is going in for open heart surgery tomorrow morning. He is having a valve replaced. I think that everything will turn out ok. He is young and really good shape, but prayers for him tomorrow morning would be appreciated.

I have a guilty tv pleasure. I watch "Lockup" on MSNBC. they send camera crews into prisons.
The more I watch this show (and on a lefty channel, no less!) the more pro-death penalty I am. Prison has ceased to be a place of orderly punishment, if it ever was. Instead, it's like Escape from New York--the prisoners know every way to game the sytem, and there's no real way for them to be punished.
I believe in hard labor, breaking big rocks into little rocks, 3 hots and a cot. I love Sherriff Joe Arpaio. Lockup shows a lot of guys working out and watching tv, when they're not flashing their gang signs at each other.
Tough prison, and a tough but fair death penalty would do this country some good.

Make a big public stink about it. The Administration gets to bluster and suck fear from the staff. Politicians get to posture and bluff. The teacher gets to savour self pity and martyrdom, probably without really losing her job. The Union gets to arrange meetings and mediation to justify their dues. An example of how screwed up things are here: with money tight, they spent ten thousand dollars on pumpkins for elementary school children to carve for Halloween, and they rotted in trucks because there was a rule that no knives could be allowed on school property or used by children in anyway.
The NEA here is just a Dem political machine that protects the jobs of teachers who hate their jobs, and does nothing to promote teachers who are outstanding and innovative. In fact, those teachers are threatening to the status quo, and receive little recognition.
