Religion of Peace Kills 46 in India

Sun, Jul 27, 2008 at 8:02:05 am PDT

At least 46 people have been murdered in India, and a group of non-Buddhists has claimed responsibility: India on alert after two days of bombings kill 46.

NEW DELHI, India (Reuters) - India’s major cities were put on high alert on Sunday, with fears of more attacks after at least 40 people were killed in two days of bombings that hit a communally-sensitive western city and a southern IT hub

At least 16 small bombs exploded in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Saturday, killing at least 39 people and wounding 110, a day after another set of blasts in Bangalore killed a woman.

A little known group called the “Indian Mujahideen” claimed responsibility for the Ahmedabad attack on Saturday. The same group said it carried out bombs attacks that killed 63 people in the western city of Jaipur in May.

Golden rule time, perhaps they should have done to them that which they do unto others...
Only problem is India really doesn't want to occupy Pakistan though - they just want left alone from the murderous thugs the Pakis support...

Don';t expect this atrocity to get much play in the MSM. India used to be one of the more hostile democratic countries towards Israel but in the past 15r years the attitudes of the Indians have changed primarily due to their own home grown jihadists.

Yeah, I read this article earlier. Worse part was the double timed explosions. Probably aimed at the first responders and EMT's reacting to the first set of explosions. Typical tactics.

23 SasquatchOnSteroids  Sun, Jul 27, 2008 8:10:43am

Bush did it. There were no Indian Mujahideen in India before Bush stole all the Indian oil routed thru Iraq thru the Iraqi Mujahideen, who were only there building schools and electricity plants because Bush put all those sanctions on them and there kids couldn't read in the dark and learn and stuff.

An e-mail sent to television stations five minutes before the Saturday bombings said "We are back," The Times of India said. A group using the name Indian Mujahideen described the bombings as revenge for the anti-Muslim riots of 2002 in Ahmedabad, which took 1,000 lives.

So, let me see if have this straight.

Indian Mujahideen is getting revenge for 2002 riots (where many Muslims were killed) that Muslims started by bombing Indians.

Is that about it?

This is going to keep happening in India as long as the leftist parties are in power. They depend on the Muslim vote to stay in power, so they're not going to allow any serious action against the terrorists, especially since so far the terrorists are targeting cities in provinces that are run by their political opponents.

Please refrain from insulting retarded people.

It is willful depravity on the part of those who embrace pacifism in the pursuit of of the feeling of righteousness. They mentally rewrite reality and blank out any verifiable fact that contradicts illusion of moral superiority. They simply do not care about the actual human lives destroyed by real tyrants and conquerors as long as they can feel good about themselves. They are willing servants and accessories to the Enemies of Human Kind.

Pacifism is evil pretending to be good at the expense of the innocent and helpless. I would argue that pacifists hold a lower place in the objective moral order than child molesters.

"A little known group called the “Indian Mujahideen” claimed responsibility for the Ahmedabad attack on Saturday. "

Editorial policy style guide suggestion: evry time something like this happens instead og 'claimed responsibility' the copy should read 'admitted guilt'. So you would know "A little known group called the “Indian Mujahideen” admitted guilt for the Ahmedabad attack on Saturday."

Likewise you would know in other instances 'Hamas admitted guilt..." or "Hezbollah admitted guilt....", etc

They might as well have used the excuse that the Indian government wasn't doing enough to curb pollution's effect on the white marble of the Taj Mahal.

The Islamists couldn't find another, more recent, excuse?

The fact of the matter is that many of the Islamists operating in India are getting their support from their neighbor to the NW. It's been a bone of contention for years. Whenever there are terror attacks in India, often the first place India looks is to Pakistan's ISI for involvement in supporting those who carried out the attacks.

As I posted later, maybe they've been busy in Afghanistan or Iraq. Or, maybe they just cast around for a reason, and 2002 was good enough. I have no idea. Their logic is unfathomable.

Must be the jooos who did it cause Condi Rice, the State Department and DHS all say there's no such things as jihadis or Mujahideens. Since this group calls itself, Mujahideen, ergo it cannot be a muslim group because muslims know that what we call jihad is actually an internal struggle, like dieting, and has no relationship and the vast majority of muslims are opposed to blowing up innocent kaffirs. (I understand in many strains of Islam, 'innocent kaffir' is an oxymoron, but just humour me.) I mean just look at that study in England, ONLY THIRTY THREE percent of muslims think killing in the name of Islam is justified. I mean how much more proof do you need that Islam is peaceful. I mean if it were seventy percent, you might be able to put ROP in asterisks or use it without irony. But the same percentage of Islamists who believe in jihad, is also the same percentage of Americans who approve of Pres. Bush. Of course, one might also make the point that only thirty three percent of muslims in British Universities are willing to OPENLY admit that they believe killing in the name of Islam is proper, the other two thirds might believe it too, but are smart enough to give the politically correct whitewash to reporters and to public opiniion pollsters, that such killing is wrong.

I wonder what those rotten Christians and Joooos would opine, if asked the same question? No doubt those evil xenophobic Bible thumpers would have super majorities in favor of killing in the name of their parochial religions. That's why the question is never asked of them./sarc

re: #87 lawhawk

Which is why it's so frustrating to see the Bush administration continue to cozy up to Pakistan and to the ISI. There are clearly some elements in the Pakistani government that are supporting terrorist attacks against civilians in India. And even if Bush doesn't care about that, he SHOULD care about the fact that the Taliban are receiving support from the ISI and using bases in Pakistan to attack American troops.

Obama has the right idea on this one. Aid to Pakistan should be conditioned on more concrete steps to fight terrorism, and we should have better oversight to make sure that the money we give them is actually being used to fight terrorism, and not to fund terrorism. Right now the Pakistanis are killing civilians in India and killing American troops in Afghanistan and the Bush administration's response is to give them more F-16s. War on Terror my ass.

More memory-holing at the Obama website:

When President Bush ordered the surge in January 2007, (Barack) Obama said: "I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I think it will do the reverse," a position he maintained throughout 2007. This year he acknowledged progress, but maintained his position that political progress was lacking.

The LAT Blog notes earlier in its entry that "The parts (of Obama's web site) that stressed his opposition to the 2007 troop surge and his statement that more troops would make no difference in a civil war have somehow disappeared."

Yes, "somehow."

another OT-sort of

This may have been posted sometime earlier.. If so, it won't hurt
to post again.
(ties in a bit with the foster child thread, but definitely with the character
issue.)

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy
McCain.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.
After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and
Is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over
from her father.

They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate.

She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these
countries on a detonation team and serves on their board.

They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq , another son in the Naval Academy

a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ. , an adopted daughter in

high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.

Raised kids in Phoenix , Az rather than Washington DC. (better
atmosphere) He commuted.

In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in
Bangladesh .

Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft
palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the
girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate
and other medical problems.

They have a Family Foundation for children's causes.
She's active with 'Halo Trust' - to clear land
mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.

She will join an overseas mission of 'Operation Smile', a charity
for corrective surgery on children's faces.

She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She
talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

I'm not surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds
more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of
one. A person with business and international experience.
John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She,
however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

John McCain's Sons
Talk about putting your most valuable where your mouth is! Apparently this was not 'newsworthy' enough for the media to comment about. Can either of
the other presidential candidates truthfully come close to this? Just a
question for each of us to seek an answer, and not a statement.

You see character is what's shown when the public is not looking.
There were no cameras or press invited to what you are about to read about, and
the story comes from one person in New Hampshire .

One evening last July, Senator John McCain of Arizona arrived at the New
Hampshire home of Erin Flanagan for sandwiches, chocolate-chip cookies and a
heartfelt talk about Iraq. They had met at a presidential debate, when she
asked the candidates what they would do to bring home American soldiers,
soldiers like her brother, who had been killed in action a few months earlier.

Mr. McCain did not bring cameras or press. Instead, he brought his
youngest son, James McCain, 19, then a private first class in the Marine Corps
about to leave for Iraq. Father and son sat down to hear more about Ms.
Flanagan's brother Michael Cleary, a 24-year-old Army First Lieutenant
killed by a roadside bomb.

No one mentioned the obvious: In just days, Jimmy McCain could face
similar perils. 'I can't imagine what it must have been like for them
as they were coming to meet with a family that' Ms. Flanagan recalled,
choking up. 'We lost a dear one,' she finished.

Mr. McCain, now the Republican nominee, has staked his candidacy on the
promise that American troops can bring stability to Iraq. What he almost never
says is that one of them is his own son, who spent seven months patrolling
Anbar Province a

here a quote from hindu.com

Unconfirmed reports said the worst attack occurred near the trauma centre of the government civil hospital, where at least 25 people, including two doctors, were killed. Some eyewitness accounts claimed that it was a “human bomb” attack. The body was said to have been shattered but the incident was not confirmed by the police, who put the casualties in the hospital attack at not fewer than six.

16 bombs went off, all over the place, yesterday. one at a hospital, killing 6, including 2 doctors.
i'm just sitting here thinking abt. the fear of those people in that town in india. terrorism doesn't just seek to kill, it seeks to weaken and demoralize people emotionally.
we really need to remind ourselves that these barbarians have no intention of going away on their own.
and it doesn't seem possible that we can just go on abt. our lives hoping to outlast them, waiting for them to see the light and come out of the dark ages as a viable people in society.
we are lucky we haven't had these kind of multiple bomb attacks here. but many people in many places the world over, are suffering because of the ropma.

Good! What you've never heard the term 'asshat'? Or does it accurately describe your ex? Some maniac has run amok at a church service and shot some people. Just on FNC.

re: #150 realwest

That's such a great song.

A lovestruck Romeo sings a streetsuss serenade
Laying everybody low with a lovesong that he made
Finds a streetlight steps out of the shade
Says something like you and me babe how about it?

Juliet says hey it's Romeo you nearly gimme a heart attack
He's underneath the window she's singing hey la my boyfriend's back
You shouldn't come around here singing up at people like that
Anyway what you gonna do about it?

Juliet the dice was loaded from the start
And I bet and you exploded in my heart
And I forget I forget the movie song
When you gonna realise it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet?

Come up on different streets they both were streets of shame
Both dirty both mean yes and the dream was just the same
And I dreamed your dream for you and now your dream is real
How can you look at me as if I was just another one of your deals?

When you can fall for chains of silver you can fall for chains of gold
You can fall for pretty strangers and the promises they hold
You promised me everything you promised me thick and thin yeah
Now you just say oh Romeo yeah you know I used to have a scene with him

Juliet when we made love you used to cry
You said I love you like the stars above I'll love you till I die
There's a place for us you know the movie song
When you gonna realise it was just that the time was wrong, juliet?

I can't do the talk like they talk on TV
And I can't do a love song like the way it's meant to be
I can't do everything but I'd do anything for you
I can't do anything except be in love with you

And all I do is miss you and the way we used to be
All I do is keep the beat and bad company
All I do is kiss you through the bars of a rhyme
Julie I'd do the stars with you any time

Wonderful. Wonderful.

The authors imply that the root cause is not Islamic jihad theology, but instead it is Indian society to blame:

Some analysts say there is evidence of local Muslim groups, for years seen as unaffected by the rise of global Islamist militancy, of taking up violence against India, where they are a poor and often neglected minority.

They use the old "Some say..." trick. Whenever you see an article that uses "some say" as a source, you know the authors are injecting their opinion into the story. A real journalist would only quote a specific person.

In e-mail, Islamic group claims India blasts

"In the name of Allah the Indian Mujahideen strike again! Do whatever you can, within 5 minutes from now, feel the terror of Death!" said an e-mail from the group sent to several Indian television stations minutes before the blasts began."

My God is the God of the Christians and Jews. My God is GOD. What you do in the name of your god (which is not the God of the Christians and Jews) is an abomination to God the Father. Only Satan would sanction and rejoice in KILLING innocent lives. You have chosen your path to Hell. Then kill in the name of your god you call allah. But do not believe for an instant that the god you worship is the same God as the Christians and Jews.

Christians have been warned of the one called the False Prophet. This false prophet is the apostle of your God which, as I have said is not the God of the Christians and Jews.

Would you consider Edwin Angeles former leader of Abu Sayyaf stating that?

Ok, I'm back- thread's dead, thought you might check back, too.
Found this in review of J. Davis's book at Amazon: "note that serious individuals like David P. Schippers and former CIA director, James Woolsey strongly recommend the reading of "The Third Terrorist." The latter gentleman even adds that this book has effectively shifted "the burden of proof to those would still contend McVeigh and Nichols executed the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing without the support of a group or groups from the Middle East."

There may be something to all of this- I've no idea. There's a "conspiracy theory" feel to the whole thing, which reinforces my doubt.
I've no idea why the gov't would want to cover it all up, especially since we later found reasons to go to war in Iraq. Looks like they could have added OKC to the list. I've no doubt the current administration would have, if they could have.

In any case, it's all moot. Saddam's dead. So's Tim McV. Good Riddance.

If there was something to gain politically some might try, but if there's to much to unearth & hide - we all know what happens.

Hell, can it even be said Ayman al Zawahiri visited OKC before the bombing.
