Saudi Arabia is spreading the disease of Islamic Jihadism across the globe.

Where is Saudi Arabia's influence not "insidious"?

3 Peacekeeper  Mon, Jul 28, 2008 9:26:49am

As I've mentioned before. As far back as 1999 it was Bosnian muslims who were warning me about Saudi "cavemen" and their penchant for buggery religious schools.

Meanwhile, we help support this every time we go to the gas station, and the Dhimmicraps are blocking any vote on offshore drilling because it would "give the oil companies more money". It would give US oil companies more money, instead of foreign ones. But we can see where Pelosi and others loyalties are, the traitors.

9 Ward Cleaver  Mon, Jul 28, 2008 9:33:18am

I remember reading a couple of years ago how the Saudis were paying for new (ugly) mosques in Bosnia and Kosovo, to replace traditional ones, and how cemeteries were being destroyed, so people couldn't visit dead relatives (the islamists see it as idol worship), etc.

While we're discussing cross-national influence, take a look at this NPR story from this morning about the special relationship between China and the Sudan.

Not merely the fact that Sudan sells 80% of its oil to China; General Gordon, who fought the Chinese in the Opium Wars, was killed in the Sudan, and the Chinese love the Sudanese for having done so.

Note, also, the adulatory tone in which the article discusses the Mahdi.

Murderous regimes say "sh*t" and NPR squats and asks "what color?"

Once again we note the insidious creep of radical Islam backed by Saudi gold.

Also, make not that we once again catch a glimpse of moderate (no sharia) Muslims. It is a glimpse only, as the media consistently provides a forum only to those such as CAIR, ISNA, MSA, and MAS that are products of the radical branch of Islam.

Truly moderate groups, such as the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, Muslims Against Sharia, and others go wanting.

It seems the Wahhabis have successfully transformed this portion of Macedonia into what former Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky calls a fear society.

When you experience a 'fear society' you learn the all encompassing, smothering nature of the tyranny is the only issue of import. Everything else: art, sport, society is subservient to the fear power.

To really fix the middle east would require shoving the Saud Wahabi clan back into the Nejd. Arabian arabs can be divided into the northern and southern groups, with the north including the arab natives of Syria, Iraq, Jordan and the Nejd region of Saudi Arabia. The Hejaz, Yemen and Oman are linguistically and culturally different. In addition there are the religious divisions, mostly between Sunni and Shia. The northern Sunni are minorities in Iraq and are a repressed majority in Syria. If the map was really redrawn to unite Sunni majority regions the big losers would be Iranian proxies in Syria and Lebanon. Unfortunately for the Sunnis they are like the Jews in that they live in all the bits of the region that are not producing huge amounts of oil. The Sunni in Iraq have made a painful transition towards reality with the Anbar Wakening. If the dominance of the backward Saud clan over the region was removed then they may be able to lead the North arab Sunni in a more productive direction.

For instance, there is a magnificent Arab grocer/restaurant here in town, but every time I step through their door, I can't help thinking... and so, am a less- frequent patron than before.

Not that I'd be advocating violence but...
It seems like the Natives need to somehow reject the "foreign radical clerics" or they are doomed... how they reject them could be brute force, it could be guerrilla tactics aimed at the leaders or it could be convincing the government(s) above and around them where the region is heading, which is a bigger headache for everyone around them, unless the trend is nipped short now...
But people being people and all the most likely course is whichever is the most painful in the long term for the convenience of today...

On the other hand I can't help but wonder what would happen if a large US church organization set foot there (with gobs of cash to bribe the government into action/protecting them etc) and started a campaign to convert the locals for being Wahhabi etc...

Now I am not all that fond of missionaries. Seeing the Witnesses approach is a good reason to always walk with the dog. They steer clear of the sweet puppy. The Mormons on the other hand seem OK. Nevertheless I can think of at least two good reasons for us to insist that missionaries be allowed to work in all these countries.

1. It gets some really annoying people out of our country.

2. By defending the missionaries against threats and bullying by the Islamists we will in the eyes of the locals be forcing them to respect us. The problem that we face in many of these 3rd world cultures, like The Bronx, is that the locals do not respect the West or take us seriously. They must learn that respect is mutual. That is why the surge helped transform the climate in Iraq. We may not have to create a long term colonial occupation but we do have to change the expectations of the people out there.

It's ok, I knew what you meant the first time. LOL.
I dunno - I mean when you say "gobs of cash" in Saudi Arabia, that's a HELL of a lot of dough, given the probably TRILLION dollar net worth of the Saud family.

I think we had a GREAT chance in Desert I, but caved to their demands of no crucifixes being allowed to be worn "publically" by our troops; female troops having to wear long sleeve shirts and all. I know we went in to save the Magic Kingdom's Ass from Hussein, but we really went in to protect "our" oil supplies there and coulda and shoulda muscled the Royal House around waaay more than we did.

How true. By caving into their demands, while we were protecting them, we sent a bad signal.
I have no idea if Sadam was actually going to cross from Kuwait into Saudi Arabia, but without us there would have been nothing to stop him. By accepting Saudi conditions, we looked in their eyes inferior to them & reinforced the Mosque lessons. Our troops were referred to as 'White Slaves."

All across the world, from Dearborn to Melbourne, from West London to the West Bank, the Saudis are splashing the cash to ensure that Wahabi meta-terrorism is subtly spread.

It poisons our society with its backward culture, oppression and hatred.

There's obvious ironies here - firstly, any Christian ministry trying to operate in Saudis would be expelled so fast their heads would spin.

Secondly, the Saudis wouldn't have a pot to piss in were it not for the oil that just happens to be under their ground. Their cultural, philosophical and scientific contribution to this planet would not show up on an atomic spectrometer.

Yes it is the development of our civilization that drives the needs for their oil and thus funds the Wahabi forces that seek to subvert our civilization.

This either makes the Saudis the biggest, most evil parasite in history or makes us the biggest mugs in history.

It's not just the Saudis either. Our other enemies, Iran & Venezuela are non-achievers who thrive because of our thirst for oil.

I am no wacko environmentalist, but it doesn't take a degree in economics to realize that Western civilization's most urgent, pressing issue is the need to replace oil. Drilling into ANWR only stalls the issue and still leaves us reliant on bastard regimes.

If we phase banned the use of oil-fueled cars and factories over the next 5 years, we could tell the Suadis, Ahmadinejad & Chavez to go piss up a rope. The funding for the Wahabis would dry up and they could go back to being unsophisticated, non-threatening desert folk.

The longer we put money in their pockets the longer these Saudi Academies and wahabi mosques will continue attacking us.

Huffpo gives legal advice on kidnapping government officials....
How to Perform a Citizen's Arrest of A Bush Administration Official

We really ought to be inspired by the 4 courageous Iowans who dared to try to hold Rove accountable for his crimes. Government officials, no matter how high-ranking, should be prevented from even walking the street without fear of arrest, if they are guilty of a crime. Whether or not justice is done should not depend on how politically influential the accused is. If the Justice Department will not do its job, then let citizens uphold the law. Citizen's arrests are a powerful yet peaceful way to show the strength and defiance of the American people.

Good luck with that.

re: #99 uptight

Finding something to replace oil isn't just a matter of deciding to do it, and it will come in a year or two. There are hundreds of alternatives out there and each and every one IS being looked into. Lots of time, money, and brainpower is going into developing all of them. Banning petroleum would not get us "serious" about finding alternatives: we're serious now, but things take time.

That time could be provide by drilling in ANWR. We would use our own instead of theirs, granting the fungible nature of oil.

Add to the extra time shale oil, which was not feasible at $40/barrel, but certainly is now. The USA is the Saudi Arabia of shale oil. What we have beneath our soil equals three Arabias. These two sources would last us 60 or so years, using oil. Imagine the technological advances in 60 years, batteries (making nuclear power useful for cars, etc.) for example, and biodiesel, and every other thing you can think of.

To help in imagining, compare our technology today to the 1940s. And remember, we're developing technology faster now. The advances in computers in just 50 years someone compared to going from the wheel to the space shuttle in just under a century.

Part of my issue with the auto makers right now is that they refuse to make hybrids in all models and with all levels of options. They only seem to make the cars with all the options which drives up the cost. Having said that, I have already decided that my next car will be a hybrid for the simple reason that I think we all need to do our part to help the US become energy independent.

Note, however, that I did not say that I want any of this mandated by the government.

You are only allowed to use a citizens' arrest if a crime against another person is in progress, you see it and can interfere without danger to yourself and bystanders.
And even then you can get into deep trouble with the Law for possible GBH ...

Replaceing the internal combustion engine, OTOH, requires a breakthrough in technology. There's no telling when that will happen. Hydrogen is a possibility for an alternate fuel source, but you need lots of nuke plants to produce enough electricity to produce the hydrogen. Right now it is just an interesting idea.

They don't want to live according to the day-to-day acceptable behavior of the region. The neighbors kill, maim, imprision (women in the kitchen and nursery) each other even inside each country far more than they try to get at the Israelis. I think that the way to "help the US become energy independent" is not to buy a half-assed, twixt-and-tween hybrid, but to demand that the US use the oil it's got so as not to pay money out to our enemies. "Energy alternatives," if and when they come, will not arrive one second sooner for buying a car which carries two power sources instead of one.

Of course we should drill. I never said we shouldn't. However, that doesn't that we shouldn't do what we can as individuals to help the situation.

Nobody ever heard of salmonella. Are we that much more immuno-deficient, or are the papers just creating hysteria?

I know I was one of those kids- I think all of the turtles I tossed in the sewer- thinking they were dead- gave birth to the little turtles currently being sold in Philly.

I think probably things got worse for turtle breeders. I don't really know- why are more kids allergic to peanuts and peanut butter? I could be wrong- kids could have been sick and died from it but didn't every school kid in America eat peanut butter sandwiches 2X a week, 2 days was bologna(nitrates) and one day was tuna(mercury) in the 50s and 60s(that is me)- why aren't we dead now?

Police: Accused shooter hated liberals, expected to be killed

The shotgun-wielding suspect in Sunday’s mass shooting at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church was motivated by a hatred of “the liberal movement,” and he planned to shoot until police shot him, Knoxville Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV said this morning.

Jim D. Adkisson, 58, of Powell wrote a four-page letter in which he stated his “hatred of the liberal movement,” Owen said. “Liberals in general, as well as gays.”

It is illegal to sell them as immature turtles, you can buy full grown turtles at any pet store. And it is cruel to keep them in pint sized tanks, with no knowledge of how to care for them.

Nobody ever heard of salmonella. Are we that much more immuno-deficient, or are the papers just creating hysteria?

We had pet tarantulas and snakes of every sort we could catch.
My brother had a pet 'coon and we all caught possums with impunity, but let 'em go. I've a big possum living in my yard for years and pet him when I see him (he does the "lockup" thing and can't bite).

Two friends had pet hawks and one smartaleck had a coyote.

re: #144 buzzsawmonkey

I think that the way to "help the US become energy independent" is not to buy a half-assed, twixt-and-tween hybrid, but to demand that the US use the oil it's got so as not to pay money out to our enemies. "Energy alternatives," if and when they come, will not arrive one second sooner for buying a car which carries two power sources instead of one.

I often agree with buzz, but not on this... I believe in buying technology in order to push the market forward. Eventually, the battery technology that is being pushed by the hybrid's success will stand us in good stead in many applications. Ultimately, I'd see my house with a good battery rechargeable from any of several sources (our nuke plant, our coal plants, natural gas, solar... whatever) then powering the house/home office/car. No peak issues for the utilities...

Also, someone above talked about how most of our oil doesn't come from the middle east and therefore our broadening of energy technologies won't make a difference in $$ going to crazy bombers. But really technology is international. Any energy technology diversification we can make palatable will be bought/ picked up somehow by other big economies (who buy the big bucks of oil from the crazy bomber countries). And wouldn't it be so cool if beneficial technologies like Japan's would come in from Israel, India, China to supplement ours to make the whole thing run better without funding our murderers.

Even given that Unitarians don't fall under the umbrella of Christianity, I find it strange that every headline in the land mentions that two of his three dislikes, but leaves out the third.

Also, this is the top story every where I turn. Compare to the gunman who attacked a Christian radio station just this past Friday, with multiple weapons in his car, gunned down by police after a shootout and trying to run over police. This was barely mentioned Friday and then just dropped off the radar completely.

Cannot vouch for this, but sounds too believable to me, so FWIW:

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass
along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the
area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As hefinished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the
Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to
know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,
CPT Jeffrey S. Porter
Battle Captain
TF Wasatch
American Soldier

This was in my IN box this morning.

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone." I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,

CPT Jeffrey S. Porter
Battle Captain
TF Wasatch
American Soldier

I know how much fun it is to assume, but most conservative Christians wouldn't have had this to say:

Karen Massey, who lived two houses from Adkisson's home, told the Knoxville News Sentinel of a lengthy conversation she had with Adkisson a couple years ago after she told him her daughter had just graduated from Johnson Bible College. She said she ended up having to explain to him that she was a Christian.

"He almost turned angry," she told the newspaper. "He seemed to get angry at that. He said that everything in the Bible contradicts itself if you read it."

Massey said Adkisson talked frequently about his parents, who "made him go to church all his life. ... He acted like he was forced to do that."

Your assumption would be wrong, but would be exactly the one the media wanted you to make.

His Christian neighbor was explaining to him that her daughter had just graduated from a Christian college, and he didn't understand.

She said she ended up having to explain to him that she was a Christian.

"He almost turned angry," she told the newspaper. "He seemed to get angry at that. He said that everything in the Bible contradicts itself if you read it."

He also expressed anger at his parents for taking him to church as a child.

This was NOT a church-loving Christian.

He reminds me of the "Christian" Eric Rudolph that the media created, who actually said "I really prefer Nietzsche to the Bible."

Hatred of others continues to emerge as motive

The man who is accused of Sunday's church shooting was described Monday by a long-time acquaintance as a loner who hates "blacks, gays and anyone different from him.''

An accomplished musician, Jim David Adkisson was carrying a shotgun instead of a guitar in a guitar case when he went into Tennessee Valley Universalist Unitarian Church Sunday morning and started shooting.

Adkisson's ex-wife, Liza Alexander of Powell, was a former long-time member of the church, congregant Barbara Kemper said Monday.

I suspect the answer is most of the kids then died very very young if they had these issues. Infant mortality rate has been dropping like a stone for decades.

Sometimes when I take a lot of pictures at an event, when I'm sorting through them and choosing the best ones I need to categorize them in various folders, to make sense of what I've got. Often the folders have titles like "funny signs," "kaffiyehs," "counter-protesters," "eccentrics," and so on. But this time around, for the event I went to yesterday that I mentioned on last night's thread, the categories necessarily are, "fetish costumes," "beer," "flaccid," "erect," "oral," "anal," "pissing" and "ejaculating."

This is gonna be insane.

So as parents, we are left walking the line between protecting our children, and still giving them enough 'sharp edges' in the world so they can learn.

My goal is to always be a bit less protective than they need me to be for their age, so they can fail, but not too terribly.

Funny, every now and then I run across some lefty screed which says that the US's infant mortality rate is somewhere akin to that of Upper Volta, or something, and that we are put to shame by Cuba.

I've been told that that is because we actually get more babies born with our high-level medical care than a lot of other countries where such babies would be still-born. Haven't ever verified that.

Also when I was about 7 or 8 my friends and I actually found a place to buy glow in the dark paint (yes it had radium in it). We were so stupid with that stuff. My buddy actually painted his eyelids with it so he would look like the mummy or something in the dark. Thankfully his dad (who was probably the only one of the neighborhood parents who actually understood the dangers in this) caught us in the act and made him wash it off immediately. That was the last we ever saw of that glow in the dark paint.

Perhaps they are confused, because it makes perfect sense to me. Protect your children as you are able, shelter them enough to give them a safe place to run when they need that protection, and let them grow up understanding that actions have consequences, risk includes the possibility of failure as well as success, and freedom is entirely based upon responsibility.

That was a mouthful. And speaking of mouthfuls, I need to cook. bbl

I never dropped any mercury, but in Organic, I won the golden hammer award for breaking the most beakers. It was a hell of alot easier than cleaning them!

I never broke anything but I learned a very valuable lesson in General Chemistry Lab in college - the experiment was separating a copper-nickel alloy by dissolving it in nitric acid. The instructions were step-by-step:

1) Place alloy sample in beaker (ah, OK)

2) Cover alloy sample with nitric acid (ah, OK)

3) Assemble ring stand and bunsen burner (ah, OK)

4) Place beaker with sample on ring stand (ah, OK)

5) Light bunsen burner and heat beaker with sample (ah, OK)

[ PAGE TURN]

5) (cont'd) INSURE THAT RING STAND AND BURNER ARE UNDER THE VENTILATION HOOD AND THE VENTILATION FAN IS OPERATING.

(Huh?)

About that time the entire class starts hacking and wheezing from breathing the fumes from TEN BEAKERS OF BOILING NITRIC ACID. Somebody hit the emergency gas shut-off and we all bailed out of the lab- class dismissed!

Oh, and the lesson: always read ALL of the instructions before you do anything!

Bob Novak has been hospitalized with a brain tumor.

Hopefully he can beat this. He's done some heavy lifting for us for a very long time.

That could very well explain him hitting the pedestrian and not knowing it, he could have blacked out momentarily.

I'm just glad that one guy didn't have much "oomph" to his climax when he ejaculated out of the second story window. His semen didn't go very far and only landed on the people on the sidewalk directly below. I stepped back instinctually, but in reality I was safe and there was no chance it was going to reach me.

Reminds me of a porn "blooper" video I saw. Camera man is closing in on the action and then starts yelling "GET ME A TOWEL. NOW!"

Couple weeks ago we took a long weekend and went to the beach. One day it was too windy and cold on the beach so we found a play ground on at a school. Suddenly the boys (3 & 4 years old) are gone. The school bus yard was right next to the playground they found an open school bus.

my father was on the Battleship North Carolina BB-55 during WW 2. during the 60's he'd pack the family up every summer for the drive to Wilmington NC were the Show boat was moored as a show piece for the annual reunion. talks about fun for a little boy. it was great. Because it was a reunion for all the old vets, who weren't that old then anyhow, they'd open up everything on the ship. you could play with the .30 cal machine guns. go in the 5 inch gun turrets, in the 16 inch cannon turrets crawl all over that ship. it was the best vacation every year. and Dad got to see all his old navy buddies from the war.

Pelosi doesn't represent the most anti-American, pro-perversion Congressional district by being a closet conservative. Her constituents can do no wrong in her eyes, because like a good liberal she doesn't believe in "wrong", unless there are white men or Christians involved.

Also common with conservative Christians, a dislike for murder. It's in our top ten! So that makes him less likely to have been Christian. (If we're making accusations based on religious beliefs)

You jumped to an erroneous conclusion and now you're trying to justify it. You're a bigger man than that. Say you were wrong and be done with it.

At what point do these things cross beyond local laws and pass into the realm of State and federal law?
At what do people hold accountable the government officials charged with responsibility over this sort of decrepitude?
