Obama 'Birth Certificate' Links Not Welcome

Mon, Aug 11, 2008 at 1:27:18 pm PDT

This is a public notice that I’m going to be deleting any posted spinoff links that try to promote the “Obama birth certificate” nonsense. I’ve mentioned this several times in comments, but it apparently hasn’t been heard by enough people.

The story is absolute garbage, and it’s being promoted now by Larry “Michelle Obama Whitey Tape” Johnson, who has zero credibility.

If you think I’m an idiot who can’t see what’s right in front of me, and want to continue chasing this rabbit down the hole, it’s a simple matter to start a blog at Blogspot or Wordpress. Then you can get all the credit for it. In the highly unlikely event that the story is proven to be true, you can bask in the glory, and I’ll have a nice dinner of crow. Until then, please don’t post this stuff at LGF or it will be deleted.

I agree, this as well as the other two threads (Barack as a crypto-muslim, Barack as the antichrist) emanating from the weirdos out there play into the left's hands and all three are counterproductive.

We get fresh sticks to club Obama with every time he speaks and everytime he hops on the bus to drive over a former associate - we sure as hell don't have to make shit up to win. It detracts from our credibility if we try to help LJ and other roaches pimp their cess.

130,000 refugees flee the Southern Phillipines to avoid being drawn into fight between MILF and the government.

The number of Filipinos displaced from their homes since fighting began late last week between government forces and Islamic separatists in the southern Philippines reached 130,000 on Monday, officials said. The military and the police sent more troops to fight the rebels.

Social welfare officials warned of a potential humanitarian disaster as the fighting between troops and elements of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, which had been confined to two provinces, threatened to spill over to other areas. The Moro Islamic Liberation Front is a separatist group that has been fighting for an Islamic state in the southern region of Mindanao for several decades.

Local media reported that thousands of residents, the majority of them Muslims, had been fleeing their homes since Friday, many in carts pulled by water buffaloes.

Thousands of refugees had been housed in more than 40 refugee centers, officials said, but most of them had chosen to leave their communities and seek shelter with relatives in other provinces.

As of Monday, officials said two soldiers and at least 15 rebels had been killed in the fighting, which erupted on Thursday after separatist forces refused to vacate nine villages in North Cotabato Province.

This is yet another conflict where Islamists want to create their own state withing a state, and use all manner of terrorism and piracy to achieve their ends.

It's not the Republicans who are bringing it up. It's Larry Johnson and the rest of the disillusioned Clinton supporters who are attempting to subvert Obama's campaign.

In other words, Democrats are doing this to each other.

The GOP is simply watching from the sidelines and noting the smears (which then gets reported as though the GOP originated them, but that's an indictment on the media that covers such things).

re: #4 Ward Cleaver

There are plenty of substantive reasons to not vote for Obama, without resorting to Internet chain letters.

I agree.

HOWEVER, there are many ill-informed people in this country, and this will be a close election. If there is a non-substantive "rumor" that proves to be true, and there are a certain thousands of people who will vote against Obama due to this unimportant reason, then I don't see the problem with promulgating it.

So (looking ahead to my never-to-be-completed Obama page), this birth certificate story is very likely to be bogus. But say, for example, the rumor that he not only took cocaine as a young man (which he admits) but also sold cocaine as a drug dealer -- if that turns out to be true, why not promote it -- even though it has no real bearing on presidential foreign policy capabilities? if we can scare off 5,000 people from voting for Obama over this non-issue, then I say go for it. Cynical, yes, I admit, but we need every tool we have.

Needless to say, this only applies to TRUE rumors -- obviously, promoting falsehoods is a bad idea, for a variety of reasons.

64 lifeofthemind  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 1:45:07pm

I think people just love posting "MILF Fighting" stories.

65 Fat Bastard Vegetarian  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 1:45:16pm

I have no interest in the birth certificate rumors, but just in case:

Potted Crow:

6 crows
3 bacon slices
stuffing of your choice
1 diced carrot
1 diced onion
chopped parsley
hot water or stock
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup flour
buttered toast

Clean and dress crows; stuff and place them upright in stew-pan on the slices of bacon. Add the carrot, onion and a little parsley, and cover with boiling water or stock.
Cover the pot and let simmer for 2-3 hours, or until tender, adding boiling water or stock when necessary.
Make a sauce of the shortening and flour and 2 cups of the stock remaining in the pan.

Serve each crow on a thin slice of moistened toast, and pour gravy over all.

99 Bubbaman  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 1:53:40pm

I know that this is OT, but since this thread is about Barack it seems fitting to discuss this.

Everyday, I hear doom and gloom from the Demoncrats and the MSM. From the sounds of things, our economy is almost as bad as the great depression (and some say worse). Well, this past week I had the opportunity to travel to one of the most economically depressed states in the country - Michigan. With the highest unemployment and the near total collapse of the auto industry, I thought that I would see beggers on every corner and bread lines stretching for blocks.

The reality: The roads were clogged with cars pulling campers, boats, and pleasure crafts heading north and south. The stores were filled with people buying and spending money. At one resort town, I asked every store owner as to how they were doing (financially). Every single one said that their sales were as good as last year. For sport, I checked the availability of hotels in a variety of resort towns - all were booked solid.

Are some people hurting? I'm sure. Are times tough? For some, yes. But, the majority of people seemed to be doing just fine. Something the MSM and Demoncrats don't want you to know.

The reality: The roads were clogged with cars pulling campers, boats, and pleasure crafts heading north and south.

As the poor people of Michigan flee the disastrous results of the Bush economy, we must ask: Can January 2009 come too soon?

The stores were filled with people buying and spending money. At one resort town, I asked every store owner as to how they were doing (financially). Every single one said that their sales were as good as last year. For sport, I checked the availability of hotels in a variety of resort towns - all were booked solid.

Economic woes continue as people hasten to spend dollars rapidly losing their value against more solid currencies. Store owners report continued poor sales. The housing crisis has resulted in a literal flood of people unable to afford thier own homes.

Are some people hurting? I'm sure. Are times tough? For some, yes. But, the majority of people seemed to be doing just fine. Something the MSM and Demoncrats don't want you to know.

Obama is a product of affirmative action, who never would have made it into top-notch colleges on his own ability. He never would have made editor of Harvard Law Review. He never would have gotten an incredible advance to write a book or gotten away without publishing in a university position.

His election to the state senate was based on race, and he did virtually nothing in the time he spent there. What he did do isn't exactly worth bragging about. Ditto his election to Congress.

He has no executive experience. He's done nothing on his own that is noteworthy. He lacks basic understanding of economics, history, the Constitution and world events, i.e., he's not overly-bright. He cannot speak without a teleprompter. His positions on issues are far to the radical left. His rise to the nomination is basically due to the media.

With all of this, why in God's name do people need to make up stories to try to discredit him? Obama has plenty of legitimate problems without going to la-la-land looking for more.

True but that wasn't my point. Let me explain. With all of the mortgage pain that I read about every day, I would expect to see some reduction in daily traffic to a mortgage company office building. When the Internet bubble burst, for example, there were huge reductions in the amount of traffic to a nearby Nortel office. But with this crisis, that has not occured.

Oh, I see your point. I would imagine that some locations will be unaffected, or maybe even consolidated, so that might explain it.

I was hoping that Countrywide might go under and make my mortgage disappear with them. (Sort of a little bail out all my own. Do I have to be irresponsible and quit paying it first?)

209 Adina in Judea  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 2:51:28pm

Something goofy about one of the Obama birth certificate claims is that it really belongs to his sister who was born in Indonesia. The claimant said that an American born overseas can get a birth certificate from a U.S. state if the birth is registered at an American embassy in the birth country.

I know for a fact that Americans who were born overseas and registered by their parents at an American embassy can get their birth certificates from the U.S. State Department. If you call the State Department, one of their phone selections is to get birth certificates for Americans born overseas.

As far as I know, individual states don't get involved in this. It's a matter for the State Department alone. If you're an American citizen born overseas, you can get a nice birth certificate printed on a State Department printer with Condi Rice's (or whoever's the current Secretary of State at the time) signature shown on it.

I'd be very wary of anyone who claims to have a State birth certificate for someone born overseas without checking into it very carefully. I agree with most people here that this 'bad Obama birth certificate' business is not credible or worth repeating.

216 Quilly Mammoth  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 4:21:01pm

Well done, Charles. There's plenty to excoriate Barak over without resorting to patently untrue conspiracy theories. Larry Johnson has been a freak since he first appeared supporting Valarie Plame. I wrote that guy off in 2005. He left the Agency in 1989. No one who knows talks to him and he's been in his own little world since then.

217 ag2003  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 4:45:51pm

i was reading about that birth certificate stuff and well, it was over my head. then again, when an "X" is just slightly higher than where it should be (1/1000th of an inch) is it really a forgery?

too many pictures and then to have them placed on one another, etc. even if you put barack's name over the original person's name, how would you be able to tell who exactly it belonged to? it's fishy at best. then to claim that republicans have a true copy of the birth certificate? wasn't there a michelle o "whitey" tape? yeah, uh huh. we know what came of that.......the game bs is fun. even more so when you're the one calling it.

if true though, i'd rank it up there with the national enquirer actually having a real story....total disbelief!

218 Boolz  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 4:47:10pm

221 JeffinSac  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 4:49:33pm

Actually what I don't understand is why Sen. Obama has not put this rumor to rest. The only thing I have seen has been the Huffington post of his birth certificate and is there not some Federal agency that has to review all candidates for office and determine them qualified? Would that be Congress? I have yet to hear an official ruling, as opposed to what happen to McCain and the Panama thing where they did a ruling, on the status of this. I assume some official has to check the birth certificates of anyone running for President and who is that because a Google search didn't turn up anything easy I could find on it.

Russia is positioning itself in a truly frightening way in Georgia should (when) Israel goes after Iran's nuclear ambitions and people are concerned about Barack Obama's birth certificate? unfrickinbelievable!

The minute Obama heard the news he canceled his plans and headed for Atlanta. He was hoping to have a sit-down with the Russian generals to try and talk them out of invading. The "O" thought it would be a big feather in his foreign relations cap. He's still there waiting.

224 Clutch  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 5:18:12pm

What's this?!? No Obama birth certificate links not allowed?!? Oh poo! There goes my grandiose plan to start a website that for only $29.95, you could fill out your very own "Obama birth certificate" with whatever information YOU choose (great as a housewarming gift and ALWAYS a hit at parties! Get one for your boss! He'll love it!) Want to make Obama from Uranus? Have at it! Choose any birthday, any town state or country, any hospital, parental units, the CHOICE is YOURS! Have it quality-laser-printed on the stock of your choice (including Genuine White Naugahide, from the rare Great White Naugas found only in the Outback of Australia; there is an extra charge for this stock. Inquire about other options, including genuine aircraft aluminum from de-comissioned B-52s.) And you can choose to have the same rococo gold and silver-gilt frame that we offer on the "Velvet Obama" (isn't it MAGICAL how his eyes follow you around the room? Black-light version also available; e-mail for details) painting to have a matching set (discounts given and FREE SHIPPING!). All this and MORE, I was gonna link to from LGF! It WOULD have be GREAT!

But Chuck says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOO!" How in the hell am I gonna soak the rubes be able to make this fantastic offer to the Lizard Army now? Chuck is limitin' my ability to get ahead in life! Dash my HOPEs against a rock! He is surpressin' me an' my attempt at making a buck! See how you are, Chuck, see how you are?!?! Li'l Green Faceist, Fashinist, Fastist... DORK! You are just an old poopy-head and you stink. You are mean and I don't like you anymore and I'm NOT going to be your friend. So there. Go eat worms.

You poopy-head.

I dunno about this whole birth cert business. But I do know Democrats lie and they tend to project. So as soon as they went after McCain I suspected something. And the Huffpo and Kos stuff is probably fake. All of which just leaves the question of what they are really hiding.

I bet his parents weren't really married (i.e she found out about the first wife) and so she listed his name as Barry Dunham. That would be the worst case scenario after all. Nobody doubts his mother was a citizen and that her son was born in America so those rumors are right out. But would Barry Dunham have a snowballs's chance in hell of being elected POTUS?

Pretty much that is all BS. If that's all you have against Barak you should vote for him.

230 ypnxjkb  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 7:23:38pm

I got a genuine document stating his birth name was Elvis A Presley Jr and his momma couldn't tell him cause then everyone would know THE Elvis was really a black man in white face.

re: #229 Quilly Mammoth

Pretty much that is all BS. If that's all you have against Barak you should vote for him.

Eh? What part would be the BS?

That Democrats are compulsive liars?

That they have a nasty habit to project their own mental issues onto others?

That they made a run at McCain not being natural born? Congress had to step in and issue a resolution to put a swift end to that one.

That the perported birth cert on Kos/Huffpo is likely a fake?

Or perhaps my assertion that the Obama camp is probably hiding SOMETHING on this issue but nobody has yet figured it out? If we ASSume that they are lying about something, after all they are certainly acting like people with something to hide, then it becomes a fun guessing game.

My own crackpot theory has about as much chance of being right as anyone else's. And it probably would be the worst possible thing from the Obama camp's perspective out of the possibilities that might actually be true.

Or do you think Barry Dunham would have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming POTUS? I won't be voting for him because he is a third generation communist, but I hope you won't argue against the assertion that for Democrats his exotic name and background is the only appeal he had over equally glib, equally leftist candidates like Silky Pony.

Grow up.

233 JeremyR  Mon, Aug 11, 2008 9:51:55pm

So what if the birth certificate appearing all over the web is fake? The facts are he was born in Hawaii, a state at the time of his birth. His mother was a citizen, so even if his father was not, it doesn't matter. Frankly, kids born to illegals are considered citizens (I disagree with that position) so Obama is a citizen, even if a piss poor one.
So its possible that his parents put something outragous on his certificate, such as making him a citizen of Nigeria. So what? the fact he was born in Hawaii to a citizen mother makes him a US citizen no matter what.
Too bad, so sad. I hope Thunder thighs springs an August suprise and swings enough super delegates to win the nomination from the obamanation.
