I'm reposting this from a dead thread, because I'm still steamed about JMV. The topic was Russia's veto power in the UN Security Council.

re: #174 JustMyView

Do you really think Obama doesn't know that?

Yes, I could totally believe that until yesterday BHO didn't know that Russia has a veto power in the UNSC. I suspect that there's a lot BHO doesn't know. I don't think his education at Columbia included the kind of coursework necessary to understand history and the modern world - beyond community organizing and Marxist theory. I'm worried about the important stuff that BHO has no clue about, and doubly worried about the things BHO thinks he knows, but really doesn't.

I'm not normally one to recommend a TV show to others, but if you haven't seen Saving Grace, you are really missing out. Best show ever! Holly Hunter is an incredible actress and the supporting cast...awesome. The show is almost completely moonbat/liberal free, infact one of the characters has a brother in the Marines, not only did they treat him like a hero, they supported his service.

Gotta get back to work, have a great day everyone.

Obama garners a major endorsement.

A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s “Hope, change and unity” campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda.

[snip]

The struggle to defeat the ultra-right and turn our country on a positive path will not end with Obama’s election. But that step will shift the ground for successful struggles going forward.

One thing is clear. None of the people’s struggles — from peace to universal health care to an economy that puts Main Street before Wall Street — will advance if McCain wins in November.

It's happier now, but I need to install some drivers from a CD that is at home (yes, I have a legal copy before you ask) rather than bug the CD guy here and wait for days until he can find what I want. Sometimes it's just easier when I use my own stuff, you know? And it's the same software we use at work, but mine is much easier to find. :D

I have mixed feelings about the Olympics. I am curious to see how the games go, and yet I hate giving NBC any more market share and thus "support" (however feebly) the Communist regime that is hosting the games.

Plus, it gave me an opportunity to offer my opinion that not only is BHO inexperienced, but that he is fundamentally uneducated. His "education" at Columbia consisted of courses that did nothing to prepare him to function is a position that requires him to have a grasp of history. I don't think he has the intellectual framework to understand that decisions and actions have consequences, and those consequences aren't always what we expect.

As POTUS or CIC he will be a total disaster - worse than Jimmy Carter, if that's possible.

Some blogs take anti-Semitism seriously.

Computerworld has a blog to tell funny stories about life in high tech. One individual is an Orthodox Jew, and brings up teachings from the Talmud and other sources as help in dealing with some of the stupidities of users and managers. (I'm not the poster who was attacked)
He has been attacked by some other posters, and it got blatantly anti-Semitic. Maybe some of Obama's web site developers had time on their hands or something.
I reported one post yesterday; today it was removed, and another, more recent one also removed. They also changed the policy to stop this, sending the anti-Semites back to the Obama site or whatever rock they slithered out from.

If anyone is interested the site is Shark Bait. And it is now safe again. Some of the technical lizards might find it fun.
(I have no vested interest in Computerworld, but I was glad to see them take quick action)

GG: Who’s Jesus to you?

(He laughs nervously)

OBAMA: Right. Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he’s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher.

And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

Well this pretty much reinforces my view of Obama and the utility of attend Trinity UCC.

Black Liberation Theology. It isn't Muslim, nor is it Christian, but racialist Marxism with a quasi-religious veneer borrowing from various faiths whatever is convenient.

It certainly liberates them from any sense of responsibility. Everything is Whitey's fault.

Like the moonbats at work who think Bush wrecked the US. Doesn't seem that bad to me, or to most people.

Those same idiot children will tell you that the Carter economy was FAR better than anything since (except for a brief respite during the Bubba Years).

Now, what Obama would do, that would be a mess. Him and Pelosi combined, and we'd solve the problem of giving our money to backwards countries for oil, we'd have no oil or money to give them.

More than lilely, but I think even some Democrats are beginning to see what an complete disaster Queen Nancy is.

That's is exactly what it is about.

Of course, Obama isn't fit to lead period!

The very definition of "cognitive dissonance". Like a migraine that just won't go away.

We could make a lot of money if we invented a pill to cure it...

These moonbats at work hate Pelosi. Maybe by election day they'll come around for McCain, but I doubt it. They read Kos, so their heads are constantly being filled with garbage.

The Olympics must be a Zionist plot, no doubt. That explains why Israel wins all the gold medals.

So listen, lizards, Georgia is in a bad way, and Russia is a foul, diseased bear. Why not pour the Stoli down the drain and buy Georgian wine? After all, they've had practice making the stuff: it's likely the oldest wine-growing region in Europe, and perhaps the world.

As someone deeply experienced in capitulating completely (in moderation) to pleasures of the flesh, let me encourage all of you to run to your neighborhood lush enablers, as I did, and buy a case of Mukuzani straight from Georgia. From the Cradle of Wine has a short description of this fine dry red, and I'm happy to say, as the owner and imbiber of a bottle of it this very evening, that it is excellent: good fruit on the nose, excellent color, medium body, not overly tannic or alcoholic, good acidity, and a very good mouthfeel. It's not a "jammy" international-style wine, as one finds ad nauseaum these days. Tastes like a cross between Sangiovese and Syrah: more berry than smoke, though, and a decent but not remarkable finish. Fifteen bucks. Totally worth it, particularly now.

Mukuzani from Kakheti, Georgia. 100% Saperavi, three years in oak. Imported by Dozortsev & Sons, Brooklyn, NY.
