More Pat Buchanan Fans at Daily Kos

Fri, Aug 22, 2008 at 3:18:47 pm PDT

It’s the cosmic wrap-around effect, in which the two polar extremes of leftist isolationism and rightist paleoconservatism collide with a mind-numbingly dull thud on the dark side of American politics: Daily Kos: Pat Buchanan (!!!) RIPS McCain on Georgia.

Ladies and gents, brace yourselves: Pat Buchanan of all people has hit the nail on the head with verve and accuracy. Here, a paint-peeling dose of well deserved venom for Scheunemann and his vile ilk:

None Dare Call It Treason

Have a read. Forward it to your friends, your enemies, your pets. This is how to write about this stuff.

In the venn diagrams of life, Pat Buchanan and I share virtually nothing beyond the basics. Carbon based, both mammals, male, wear socks. But there’s this narrow strip of sensibility we share. For all his repulsive Nixonian tendencies, he seems to remember something critical about American policy in the world:

Avoid entangling alliances

Sometimes this guy pisses me off so much, I swear that if he were drowning I’d throw him a cinderblock. Part of this is because he’s never shied away from using hyperbolic and offensive rhetoric - sucks to be on the receiving end. Well, here’s a punch line from his bit on Townhall:

“Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence ... a free people ought to be constantly awake,” Washington warned in his Farewell Address. Our Founding Father was warning against the Randy Scheunemanns among us, agents hired by foreign powers to deceive

Read and learn, people. As weak as some of his ideas are, he’s spot on the money on this one. Pat’s pretty much off the Republican island because he just can’t soften it up when needed, and he’s just not a devious enough strategist. His thinking on this proves that concerns about McCain’s saber rattling aren’t just for Kossacks - useless war foisted by neocon fantasies is something WE ALL need to fight.

70 The Other Les  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 3:47:45pm

These assholes (pardon me for insulting the concept of the asshole) simply don't understand that the other side ALWAYS shows up for the war. And that consequence of not fighting is submission... submission to the inhuman garbage that believes that other people (including the dumb-ass pacifist) exist solely as something to be used as a means of survival, well being, and physical pleasure. And NO ONE with a functioning conscience is going to tolerate the conquest and subjugation of a free nation by a predatory conqueror.

And if you think comrade Kos-Kiddie is being a real dumb f**k, here's something Scott W. Johnson encountered at a Peace Forum in 2004:

"Being Peace," a dance seminar: "Understanding peacefulness requires, in part, having experienced it oneself. This session will explore a variety of body-mind activities geared toward generating an inner state of peace. We will work with the movement principle of 'yield,'… which propel adults toward physical, mental emotional and spiritual change."

"Making Music, Making Peace: Common Purposes and Shared Skills," a choral workshop: "Many of the skills essential to peace-making are also essential to music-making: listening, envisioning, mutual trust, repair, cooperation, collaboration. People who build their capacities as music-makers are also building their capacities for grassroots peace-making."

"Peace and Change through Public Art": This project "imagines a fictitious and yet believable National Historic Site sparking both controversy and healing. Amid a massacre site it tells the 500-year story from the perspective of native peoples and culminates with an apology…."

Peace Activists...What are they good for? Absolutely nothing!

Here are some more fans of Pat: Send in the clowns/don't bother, they're heeeeeeere. . .

94 Olderthandirt  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 4:14:17pm

If Pat B. were president back in circa 1933 - 1941, he'd say: "We have nothing to fear but trying!" Or, "don't fight the Germans because Adolf is tough and really means well!" Or: "This day will live in infamy because we fought back against the much superior Japanese!"

Jeez, what a maroon. According to Patty boy, we might as well surrender now and save a lot of heart ache because the Russians will shoot at us.

Back in the 1800's Patty boy would have said, and I quote: "54-40 or surrender!"

Can't we ship him to Eastern Slobbovia or somewhere close!? On the other hand, give him to MSNBC and they'll have him replace KO!

95 baxtrice  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 4:14:25pm

That's it, it's time to take away Pat's keyboard.

Fox is reporting that Marc Ambinder at Atlantic.com is tracking a private jet from Chicago to Delaware. Live tracking here and story.

Pat Buchanan is an opportunist of the worst sort. He's also gone around the bend mentally.

Forward it to your pets? Is that their latest voter registration scam?

Been done in Chicago for years. It was the Budgies of 14th Ward that did in Nixon.

re: #49 Ceemack

I concluded long ago that the political spectrum was a curve, not a straight line. If you go far enough to the right, I mean way, way out on the fringe, you meet wackos from the left coming the other way.

I've always been skeptical of the evaluation of political ideologies as being so extreme that they converge (the so-called "circular effect") -- my preference is for the one delineated by Jonah Goldberg, which treats ideologies as having more of a family tree type visual designation, in which certain traits and beliefs can be shown to share common roots (similar to natural selection processes) which branch off in different directions as new ideas/convictions are added. His contention is that it's silly to think of opposites taking on shared properties, such that something can be so Left that it's Right -- it would be like designating something so light that it's heavy; so tall that it's short; so big that it's small.

Thus, the reason the notion of a Left-Right convergence is seen as a bizarre "meeting of the opposites" is because what has been typically (but erroneously) defined as extreme Rightism is Facism, which is in reality not the case -- Fascism actually shares roots with Socialism, making it not so ideologically exclusive from it. Hence a Fascist "convergence" with its ancestral Socialist concept isn't so difficult to fathom.

Good night, Pat; good night, Koslings! Try not to have nightmares about---THIS! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

106 rightymouse  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 4:40:22pm

By the way, and OT, if it's Evan Bayh as Obama's VP pick, it's not such a surprise. His Dad is Birch Bayh and they are solid Kennedy people. With Caroline helping to 'vet' VP possibilities, this could very well be true.

107 Olderthandirt  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 4:41:23pm

What really shakes my gourd is that Hugh Hewitt and his bunch claim to be conservatives yet they are giving voice to Pat Buchanan. who is a raving anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi/neo-Soviet nutcase. It seems inconceivable that the Townhall bunch are allowing Pat B. to change the tenor of that group into what is fast becoming a clownish version of the "America First" bunch of the 1930s!

Pat Buchanan is a the Charles Lindbergh of today, a leading appeaser of his times! While the Lone Eagle tried to assist the USA once the fighting starts, I'm more than certain that Buchanan would continue his efforts to surrender to any anti-Semitic group.

What were Henry II's exact words to those two knights? And, are those words appropriate today?

buchanan is a caricature, barely a blip on the radar of ideas, one of many who choose to do the whole "i'm a republican but hey, i'm set apart from the rest!" route....annoying to say the very least.

and daily kos....come on, they use the word "neo-con" in nearly every sentence. blithering buffoons.

I still like the 1942 version with Jack Benny. It was released after Carol Lombard had died in a plane crash after doing a USO show. You can count the number of major stars that do USO tours on your hands now.

By any chance is Randy Scheunemann Jewish?

One shouldn't assume. I found this English geneology site:

[Link: boards.ancestry.co.uk...]

The posts indicate a Christian name. I searched some Jewish surname sites and I didn't see it. Not that it should matter to any discussion, but it would seem it matters in this one.

129 Sacred Plants  Fri, Aug 22, 2008 10:26:11pm

Buchanan:

[He] has another identity, another role. He is a dual loyalist, a foreign agent whose assignment is to get America committed to spilling the blood of her sons for client regimes who have made this moral mercenary a rich man. ... Now Scheunemann is the neocon agent in place in McCain's camp. ... Our Founding Father was warning against the Randy Scheunemanns among us, agents hired by foreign powers to deceive Americans into fighting their wars. And none dare call it treason.

Putin:

Those who oppose us . . . have totally different tasks and different visions of Russia. They need a weak, sick state. They need a disorganized and disoriented society--in order to make their deals behind our back, in order to receive nice payoffs at our expense. And, unfortunately, there are still those who look for crumbs [Putin used the verb shakalit, or "looks for food jackal-like"] near foreign embassies, foreign diplomatic missions, [and who] count on the support of foreign foundations and governments, not the support of their own people.[8]

Separated at birth?

Biden by the way has the worst hair plugs I have ever seen.

I bet Buchanan changes his socks more often. I also question Kos being male.

133 dhimmipower  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 8:40:51am

Buchanan + Kos scum is the same as the Pact of Steel, the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939. That pact initiated the invasion of Poland in 1939 and, of course, WW2.
