LGF, PJ Media, Zombie Team Up for Convention Coverage

Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 11:45:13 am PDT

We have something special planned for the Democratic Convention this coming week!

Little Green Footballs and Pajamas Media are joining forces to send the undead creature known only as Zombie to the Convention, for the kind of exclusive, slightly bent coverage only an undead creature can provide.

We have a full schedule of newsworthy stuff laid out, but you’ll just have to keep checking LGF because the Recreate 68 moonbats may act up and change our plans. We’ll be staying in touch with Agent Z minute by minute during the circus, through the magic of teh innernut.

Zombie’s reports will begin tomorrow, the opening day of the Convention. The reports will appear simultaneously at LGF and PJ Media; here at LGF they’ll show up as front page articles just like the ones I post.

We’re looking forward to this week; there’s no way to tell when or how often Zombie’s reports will show up, so stay tuned to LGF and PJ for the latest.

UPDATE at 8/24/08 1:59:02 pm:

And speaking of convention coverage, Jason Mattera has a look at the Recreate 68 warm-up rituals: Hot Air TV: Encounters with the Left.

This should be a blast. Thanks Charles!

2 Dekar  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:46:22am

Looking forward to this!

3 Colonel Panik  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:46:33am

Zombie, you're going to need a HAZMAT suit...

4 lostlakehiker  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:46:41am

This should be rich. Zombie is, (yes, really) a true professional journalist, and he/she/thedeceased gets the story nobody else gets.

5 akak  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:47:05am

Hotair has same thing.

6 JeremyR  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:47:19am

I can hardly wait. There are many who would love to help with photo recon in The denver area I recall there being some volunteers.

7 Barry the Baptist  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:48:18am

Yeah, you guys are going to travel through the Mines Of Moria (Lord of the Rings). Scary and weird shit in there!

8 Dream  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:48:20am

Zombie is always top notch. I look forward to these photos. This going to be just for the DNC convention or is he going to be covering the GOP one as well?

9 pre-Boomer Marine brat  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:49:23am

Zombie! Best Wishes!
And Thanks ahead of time!
We love ya!

Yes, but they don't have the intrepid, the one, the only Zombie.

11 Sharmuta  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:49:38am

Good luck, zombie.

12 StudSupreme  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:49:57am

With Zombie covering the convention, this is going to be a week of High Comedy that will become Legend.

:-)

Zombie Rocks!

14 Fat Jolly Penguin  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:50:38am

Great to hear zombie's going, but something tells me this could be a bit more intense than Berkeley. Be careful, O Great Undead One.

15 sngnsgt  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:50:40am

Watch out for that contact buzz Zombie!

16 Macker  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:50:45am

21 formercorpsman  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:52:33am

What will be really interesting, is to see how much attention this will get among this hysterical crowd.

Have fun Zombie, I am sure this will be a hoot.

Probably Miller.

Coors is right outside of Denver in Golden Co,

26 Iron Fist  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:53:29am

With the DNC in mind, Denver has banned the carrying of urine and feces. This should be a blast! Moonbats in their true native habitat!

It'll be interesting to see what face the Democrats are able to put on their moonbat base. Thanks to Zombie, we'll be able to see them in full flower. Power to the Undead!

27 Syrah  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:53:38am

Be careful Zombie.

They now know that you are going to be there.

28 paradox42  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:53:57am

This is awesome, but one thing bothers me. How is Zombie going to get the daily recommended quantity of brains at the DNC?

29 allah this  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:54:09am

Now I'm kinda looking forward to Denver. Way to polish a turd, gentlemen.

35 cyclown  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:55:03am

I hope Zombie's shots are all updated.

Will he get hazard pay?

36 Pullus Iulius  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:55:19am

I wish I knew more about the history of undercover investigative journalists, because I would rank Zombie among its stars. But, Zombie, be careful.

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't been to Denver in about 5 years, but I don't recall many people carrying urine around!

47 offendi  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 11:58:18am

Congrats. Sounds like it will be really interesting.

I am looking forward to the pics when the riot police turn the water cannons on the protesting Clinton "cougars".

Someone also has to tell the democrats not to eat the yellow snow (if applicable) considering the potential drug use.

One reporter we can trust. This is a good reason to give the convention any attention. If history is any indication, something very newsworthy and exclusive will be the result.

59 mbruce  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 12:03:02pm

LOL I've been watching C-Span all day and it's just total chaos over there, thank goodness my sister and my brother in law decided to skip out of Denver (they live there) on Thursday and head for Hawaii. The problem with these idiots are, if they did ANY studying of the "hippie movement" of the sixties, then they'd realize that 1.) they were betrayed by the politicians who promise to "change" the world with them, and 2.) their philosophy was failed in the first place because they weren't taken seriously due to the "free love" and psychedelic drugs

I believe that the entire enducement for the hippie movement was the "free love" aspect, at least for the guys. Some have written it was more social than political in nature. Kind of like a trend or fad.

From my research, since I'm not old enough to have been there (born in '78), it started out as more of a social statement of being counterculture. Then the anti-war crowd saw the potential in what it could do the "shock" the nation into awareness and such. Then it jump started into a "political" thing, but it ended up fading back into the social statement, because you couldn't take it seriously. Too much idealism faced with the reality of the world.

We are faced with the same situation today as well.

Been watching the Fox News coverage of the hippies, bums, ne'r-do-wells, lazy bastards, criminals, and the rest of the flotilla of human debris, protesting in Denver. Some of that '60s DNA actually DID drift into the next generation (or two!) and infect these idiots with terminal stupidity and an utter lack of common sense or decency. Who funds these freaks? None of them look like they could hold a job doing the most menial tasks!

BUT, I watched them at least twice as long as I did the entire Olympic coverage!

Yes. No permit is required to carry a gun where it is legal and not concealed. Also, you can carry a gun in your vehicle if it is not concealed and is being used legally (I guess that means as long as you are not on your way to hold up the 7-Eleven).

163 ciaospirit  Sun, Aug 24, 2008 12:43:39pm

Screw the people and their votes, the superdelegates get the say on this one.

Florida has 211 delegates, including superdelegates, and Michigan has 157. Both states are expected to be battlegrounds in the November election.

Restoring their voting rights increases the total number of delegate votes at the convention to 4,419. It will take 2,210 delegates to win the nomination.

Obama ended the primaries with a 365-delegate lead over Clinton. Reinstating the Florida and Michigan delegates will not affect that lead because Obama has more endorsements from the states' superdelegates.

This convention has the potential to be a PR disaster inside & outside.
Hillary could throw the thing up for grabs unless Obama hs agreed to the extortion to pay down her campaign debt. Even so PUMA will act out.
Outside ,could be the kind of activity that sunk Hubert Humphrey in 68.

I carried a gun in my car in the 80s when I had to go cross-country alone. Young female alone did not feel like being a victim, tyvm. I once had my axle break in Glenwood Canyon - just lucky there was a wide spot in the road, so I didn't go in the river (where people almost always die). An elderly couple picked me up and gave me a ride to a phone. They had a loaded Colt .45 long barrel in between them on the front seat.

History keeps on moving and the same wheels go round and round. Similar themes are bound to pop up. Most of the baby boomers grew up thinking it was all about THEIR generation, and if you pay attention to the youth of the 60's, it's the same as the punk movement of the late 70's/80's, "F*ck the old people, we're taking over.."

I, for one, simply cannot believe that they would allow FL & MI delagates full voting rights if it meant much of anything at all at this point.

This is an insult to the intelligence of Dems in both states - giving them what they want, but only after it's too late to be of much value. And then to claim "everything's OK now", like nothing ever happened. Outrageous, and yet, par for the course.

To think how many people support these guys writing our laws, when they don't even follow their own rules. Disturbing.

Will Barack Obama or John McCain, both of whom support sending more troops to Afghanistan, issue any condemnation of this war crime, or rethink their commitment to a war sure to see an unending stream of such atrocities in the future? Sadly, the chances of that, too, are close to zero.

This Zombie

This animated corpse of rotting flesh,
This phantom operative of LGF
That serves it in the office of an eye,
As on the opposition it does spy,
This fell and feral photographing fiend,
This spook that sees and yet remains unseen,
This lifeless, deathless, heartless, soulless ghost
That feeds upon the teeming leftist host,
This demon-seed, this heathen voodoo-child,
This resurrected carcass running wild,
This moonbat-stalking, undead walking beast
That on the brains of lunatics does feast,
This heinous and unholy hound from Hell
That doggedly pursues its prey so well,
This specter that redemption cannot save,
This diabolic relic from the grave,
This creature so cadaverous and cruel,
This cursed thing, this wraith, this ghoul, this zombie.

Coors formerly was an arch-conservative operation. Has that changed?

In the Gay Community™, Coors has long had a reputation as a "homophobic" corporation that "we're supposed to be boycotting" -- in contrast to Miller, which enjoys a reputation as "the gay-friendly beer." (As usual, reality is more complicated than perceptions -- while some members of the Coors family ARE arch-conservative, the company itself typically gets high marks on lists of "Great Workplaces for Openly Gay Employees.")

Maybe Z-man can get some funding from them, if not a free case or two!

To paraphrase an old Soviet joke: "The First-Place winner gets a free case of Coors. For the Second-Place winner, TWO free cases of Coors. The contestant with the lowest score will go home with 10 free cases of Coors as a parting gift."

(Not that I would ever turn down free beer of any kind. Ethanol is ethanol.)

I always thought of Zombie as a 'she.' Just don't know why. Who knows? Who cares, really....Good shit.

If Zombie were a "he," I'd expect that at least some of the gay guys in the Folsom St. and Up Your Alley reports would've been making flirtatious come-hither* faces at the camera. For the most part, however, the subjects in these photos express little interest in the cameraperson, which makes me lean towards "she."

A good question. I think the name is an unintentional insight into the skewed minds of these moonbats. Sure the Dems lost in '68, but the thugs in the Chicago streets weren't Democrats, they were revolutionaries looking to overthrow both the Democrats and the Republicans. McCain Leads Colorado as Tide Turns Against Obama Nationally

Nationally, McCain and Obama are tied at 45 percent in the latest Gallup poll, and Obama's selection of Senator Joseph Biden is not likely to improve Democratic polling numbers.

All of this is awful news for Barack Obama and his supporters. Indeed, the Democrats at this stage of the campaign - on the eve of a historically diverse national party convention - should now be pulling out a double-digit advantage over the GOP.

The fact that they are not explains, I would argue, why the Democratic left is so terrified that many are resorting to the most spurious allegations and irrational attacks imaginable. ...

Classic Shakespearean Tragedy -- a larger-than-life man brought down by an inner flaw.

This is so good, about what life is really about. Somehow, I have a suspicion that distant historians will have a different take on him than most of us today -- mixed, of course, but different.

Nixon Derangement Syndrome led directly to Bush Derangement Syndrome.
Watergate led to the Democrat controlled media becoming the 4th branch of the Federal Government.

Said it before, I'll say it again...The only thing beautiful about Denver is the back-drop. Other than that? Ugly, dirty, big city.

Denver's architecture is lame. and that view is particularity bad. I used to live across the street from the Grant Humphreys Mansion and I had a gorgeous view of downtown and the front range. I loved watching the weather roll in from the west. Denver isn't as dirty as some other cities I've been to. But you are right, our backdrop is king.

When Obama loses, expect this in every paper and on every TV news program times 100.

I am already seeing it in my local LLL paper. They are already saying he is losing and explaining it away as we are all a bunch of racists.

Why would anyone vote against the One for change? If you do you are a racist. Never mind that 95% of the black people are voting for him just because he is half black.

The "One" should have a double digit lead in the polls from the convention and the ungodly favorable coverage in the press. Heck both Kerry and Gore both had 10+ points lead at this point, and Obambie don't. That has to tell you something. And my local paper has already picked up on it.

I was polled a few months ago and when they got around to health care (they had been asking mostly marketing questions about products before then), they asked about the negative aspects of private health insurance (as opposed to the neutral aspects of a single-payer -- read government -- system) such as having to choose your own doctor, having to budget for health care expenditures, having to monitor how much you spend for health care, etc.

Needless to say, I pointed out the inherent bias to the pollster regarding those questions (wasn't her fault)...

I think that there is more than just the problem of Push Polls.

Polling looks like it is a tool used to tailor messages and campaigns, which, indeed, it often is.

To many people, this looks like a form of lying. With a political class that seems to already unashamedly make policy based on a "finger to the wind" guiding principle, it can color politicians and pollster both in their worst light.

I had an interesting conversation with the college student who was working the phones on one when I lived in San Diego: he ended up coming around to my opinion that the questions prevented me from giving a legitimate answer. No bounce. Nothing at all. Dead cat bounce within the margin of error.

Why?

Because McCain will trump all of Obama's mojo with announcing his VP pick the very next day. All of the news will focus not on Obama and how well he did, but on who McCain picked - regardless of whether he picks an inspired choice or not.

The Invesco speech wont matter one whit. Obama will speak in broad platitudes about how we can hope and change our way to a better America, without actually noting what he's likely to do - massive tax and spend programs that will suck the life out of the economy.

re: #453 christheprofessor

I was polled a few months ago and when they got around to health care (they had been asking mostly marketing questions about products before then), they asked about the negative aspects of private health insurance (as opposed to the neutral aspects of a single-payer -- read government -- system) such as having to choose your own doctor, having to budget for health care expenditures, having to monitor how much you spend for health care, etc.

Needless to say, I pointed out the inherent bias to the pollster regarding those questions (wasn't her fault)...

Often, at least in my opinion, the clients come in with a whole set of presuppositions that they believe are true when they wright the survey questions. The polling company can try to guide them in writing better questions, but it is the client that is writing the check.

Garbage in, garbage out. Even if it is very accurately measured garbage, it is still garbage.

Yes, I understand. I used to work in marketing research myself (I always disclose that, and many pollsters will thank me and hang up). I always felt there were two kinds of clients -- those who wanted as scientifically objective a take as possible to help in decision making, and those who had already made up their minds and just wanted numbers for CYA purposes ("But Dad, all the research said the Edsel would be a hit!").

Thank you for providing a definitive example of why it is important to know the difference between the definite and the indefinite article. It's been my experience that they often ask overly-simplistic questions, or leading questions that give you no option but the answer they want.

My experience too.

If our opinion of "genuine polls" has been tainted by the existence of push polls, maybe it is because they are all push polls. I've only experienced one company that seemed to be somewhat unbiased in their phrasing. There was still some bias in the choice of subjects sometimes, but not in the way those subjects were broached.

If that sounds vague, let me be clear. By choosing to ask about global warming, the environment, and the "economic troubles", while failing to ask about border protection, amnesty, etc., they let the Dems set the talking points, if they didn't parrot the Dem stance on them.

(I had to Lysol my eyes and use radiation on my brain after about 2 seconds) And no one was arrested. In fact, the nice little city by the bay provided security for that spectacle of debauchery to take place on public streets. I am appalled.

And now I hear that the DNC is asking the Denver cops to lay off of the pot smokers during the convention.

It's not different, really. It's propaganda, it just happens to come from the side of the aisle most here -- including me -- agree with.

The trouble with that sort of 'reporting' is that it gives a seriously out-of-whack view of what's happening in the world. You're only seeing the fringe.

We get free speech by brutally oppressing others? How does that work exactly?

If we stopped brutally oppressing ferr'ners for, say, six months, would we lose our right to free speech? 3 months?

Idiot No. 2 in that video crossed the line from making me laugh to making me angry when he said, "You guys are always talking about 'free speech.' Where do these rights come from? They come from the war in Iraq. From brutal oppression."

That really chaps my hide. That moron doesn't realize that if we didn't have free speech, comatose people such as him would be the first gagged.

And he said all that while proudly wearing his keffiyeh over his shoulders.

what an idiot.

The Fox guy was humiliated? Not the dozens of people who debased themselves on national television, and then tried to physically stop a journalist from working... in America?

The irony is so rich it's almost not palatable.

And no one was arrested. In fact, the nice little city by the bay provided security for that spectacle of debauchery to take place on public streets. I am appalled.

When I was in High School one of the key lessons I thought that adolescents could draw from To Kill a Mockingbird was when the Policeman testifies at the trial that he arrested the man for public indecency for swearing loud enough that the officer was confident that some lady in town must have heard it, and that was good enough. How could the guarantee that no child could be exposed to public indecency? How could they be sure that no person's right to privacy was not trampled and that no unwilling witness to this public conduct suffered as a result? Could some offended person or the parent of some child sue the City for the violation of their Civil Rights?

Seriously, I used to be an investigative reporter, and I used think it was fun to go slumming at events like that, but I had some close calls. There are many clever things one can do to reduce the likelihood of being outed, but really, the bottom line is that some of these people are dangerously crazy, and nothing in life is certain.

Let's all be careful out there.

Four days at $240 means you're sharing a flophouse with seven other people. There aren't any hotels in Denver that cheap.

Given that these people probably stink (when was the last time any of them bathed?) and probably have diseases that my dog wouldn't go near, the city and the convention facility will need some serious cleaning and disinfecting.

Clean the convention hall with Super Red and Q-San (these are commercial cleaners that are used in the foodservice and grocery business; Super Red has sodium hydroxide as its main ingredient and Q-San has sodium hypochlorite as its main ingredient) and run the protestors through some sheep dip. If nothing else, it would de-flea and de-louse them.
