This video is going to ignite Hillary's supporters, and if they don't get their floor vote, they're gonna be pissed off!

And there's nothing like a Hillary supporter who is pissed off.

This is the climax of Operation Chaos.

68 really grumpy big dog Johnson  Tue, Aug 26, 2008 7:43:30pm

I'll go ahead and make a bold statement. If they don't allow a roll call vote Obama's candidacy will fail.

Not that it won't fail anyway, but the Hillary supporters are going to be furious if their voices cannot be heard.

Obama's delegate lead is only a few percent, and he needed superdelegates to get over the top.

69 Biff  Tue, Aug 26, 2008 7:43:36pm

The Dems are such idiots for not nominating her. They will be feeling like complete a--holes in 5-4-3-2-

79 lawhawk  Tue, Aug 26, 2008 7:43:50pm

Capitulation speech? I doubt it. I think she'll do just enough to satisfy whatever demands the Obama camp put on her, but she'll be laying the groundwork for 2012 - and will look especially prescient when Obama gets blown out of the water when this should have been a (D) year with all that ails the US economy and 8 years of GOP presidency. All the CW points to that this should be a D year, and if it isn't, that fault rests with the DNC and Obama - while Hillary laughs her way to being at the forefront of the 2012 pretenders.

35 years in the trenches? Defending Black Panthers? Figuring out how to make $100k in cattle futures (a trick I would love to learn, btw)? Being Bill's wife? What exactly made that the trenches when you've pretty much lived on taxpayer dollars living in the governor's mansion in AK and then at the WH? When you have an :
I Hate My Job Day
[even if retired you have those sometimes]

try this:

On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson

Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.

Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins .

Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully You will notice that in small print there is a statement:

'Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized.'

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, 'I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer quality control department at Johnson & Johnson.'

Republicans supported Women's Suffrage

On this day in 1919, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed the 19th Amendment, according women the right to vote. While 85% of Republicans voted in favor, nearly half the Democrats voted against women's suffrage.

re: #10 J.S.

What a mistake the Democratic Party has made -- choosing a radical, ultra Leftist -- The One will be the death of the Democratic Party...they should have chosen Hillary...

Wrong.

Obama won't be the death of the Democratic party. But mortally bad luck has trailed enemies of the Clintons. The party dodged a bullet. If Obama wins, there won't be another spate of arkancides. It'll just be a Democratic administration. Those are inevitable, from time to time. The nation has always survived before, and so has the Democratic party.

Hillary gave a good speech. But the devil is in the details. She wants to make it easier for workers to unionize. Fine. That would be what Democrats want. But how will this be achieved? By taking away the worker's right to a secret ballot. Work accidents can happen to those who voted wrong. One must wonder, will any union elections fail, with this tire iron in the union arsenal?

She wants health insurance for all. But to be precise, what it would really be is government funded health care for all. Britain has that now. It's a mess.

I'm from the government and I'm here to cure you.

Riiiigggghhht.

Reason #99993 that Obama ( and every other politico ) is a Moron.

The Dems should have gone for a voice vote - and they should have keep the 'superdelegate' count super-ultra-top-secret. Make this look like a *real* horse raise.
Why?
So people would *watch*.
Wanting a 'coronation' is great for the politico's ego - but it makes crap television.
They watch American Idol to see who makes it and who doesn't.
They USED to watch political conventions for the same reason.
Watching people = people getting the 'ad' for your side.
Bored people = Tivo to reruns.
Any political party who could *trust* it's own membership ( which would - I grant - be zero) would keep back some delegate info from the public ( read press ) keep the intended winner 'in competition' until the very end, and if possible keep the intended VP in the running as a 'contender'.
You could get two teams of 'supporters' out of that, and whip up more interest ( and $$ ) as the two sides 'competed'. Then the big reveal. (Keep it close, and even the losers won't be too pissed. Watch any sports fan at the superbowl. Yeh -winning is best - but you'll keep cheering as long as your team makes a fight of it.) Then the great 'come together' compromise.
As long as there are no actual *issues* on the line ( and there too seldom are with professional pols - esp Dems) you should be able to send both sides united against the 'other party'.
In other words. To be good at politics? To win?
Study everything that BHO has done with the DNC- and then do the opposite.

(See - he's not useless. He can serve as a bad example.)

Wow! 2 Shrill supporters are now voting for McCain, if I heard right.

How in hell did a thug like Rangel get to speak? First he was uninvited, and now he is a hero?

I think Hillary may have been going for a "Reagan" speech at Ford's nomination convention - where everyone suddenly realized Reagan's greatness, but were nevertheless stuck with Ford. I just watched the first 6 lines of Hillary's speech repeated on Fox. I am in awe of those of you who were able to listen to the whole thing. I will never have that kind of self-discipline. I only got as far as her saying she's a proud supporter of BHO before I had to lurch for the mute button.

She's looking pretty good, though. She's lost weight. She was a little chunky there for awhile.

Remember, it's only bipartisan if you bow to the Dhims.

McCain was the anti-Bush when they needed one, but he will be Bush from now until after the election of His Husseinity.

Making "friends" with Dhims is exactly like making "friends" with Islamists; the knife is always in the hand you're not shaking.

Hillary is stumping for Obama for the exact same reason she has stuck with and defended Bill for all these years. She will whore herself in unimaginable ways for a chance at power. And that is the greatest reason to keep her from power.

No, it wasn't "nice" -- since it was obvious that she only said she's "proud" because of his membership in the Democratic party -- it was pretty clear that she was giving a ringing endorsement of Democratic party "party lines" (not her personal approval of Obama.)

791 realwest  Tue, Aug 26, 2008 8:54:47pm

Well all y'all - I decided to actually listen to Hillary's speech live, instead of trying to figure out what she was saying by what y'all were saying.
I shoulda come out here instead.
I mean she gave a very, very good speech presentation wise and she clearly endorsed Obama.
However, she made no mention of his character or his ability to lead or whether or not he'd make a great president. And every time she did praise Obama (health care and the like) she seemed to preface with a remark about herself ("I am for Universal Health Care and so is Barack Obama") type of thing.
Nonetheless, I suspect the polls will show more Democrat Women will vote for Obama than the polls showed before her speech.

792 pittrader1988  Tue, Aug 26, 2008 8:55:26pm

I am not a fan. But I thought she gave the speech she needed to give.

Only black people can get away with wearing that much orange. Denny's upholsters there restaurants in it so that people won't hang out after eating lest they get a headache; move along, people, and make room for the next people in line. Hill looks like the riddler and sounds like Ramtha. Who can hear what she's saying? She attracts only the democrats who are already disposed towards Obama; that is, she placates her party with platitudes, while repulsing everyone else, everyone in the middle, and half of her own supporters. Why would she wish to repulse her own supporters you may ask? Because she's not speaking for herself, but for her nemesis. She's dotting her i's and crossing her t's, period. She opened her speech saying what? She said some of you voted for me and some of you voted for Obama, and then she said some nice words about John McCain, adding that we don't want another four years of Bush. In short, she trisected the pie. Everything else was a footnote. In sum, don't vote for the party of headache orange, and don't vote for the party of Ramtha. McCain is Bush? Nobody's going to buy that. McCain is McCain. In four years when it's her own convention, do you think she'll show up in orange? She did exactly what she had to do to get Bill his UN ambasadorship should the Bamster get lucky. Everything else was a huge hedge against that unlikely outcome. That wasn't Bronco orange, by the way; it was meant for the nation, and it was meant as a turnoff, loud and clear. Maybe she's trying to steer the Catholic vote toward McCain, who knows. Below is a link on Orange. Here's the first sentence; it sounds about right: "Orange, a close relative of red, sparks more controversy than any other hue. There is usually strong positive or negative association to orange and true orange generally elicits a stronger "love it" or "hate it" response than other colors."

Re: Michelle Obama

God, if looks could kill. She's sooooo pissed off at Hillary, and doesn't have the training yet to hide it. This is good for female voters on the fence who were similarly antagonised by Teresa "Arrogance Personified" Heinz Kerry.

We did a "relaxer" - daughter likes her curly hair, but like your niece's hair, it is very thick, very curly, and it cannot be brushed at all because it just gets bigger & bigger -- so we had a "relaxer" put in (milder version of a straightener) - got rid of the frizz and the "bigness", but the curls remain.

What a lying sack. Hillary won't win in 2012 either. Too many women see her as weak for not dumping bill. I'm talking about the rural women voters.

re: #117 Beach Lover

you caught that too? Poor Bill he loves her and she's not a proud wife. only a proud mother and proud American.

Michelle's face told the story.

and when Barack loses it will be Hillary's fault, when in reality it is Barack that is the candidate, a piss poor one, but it is on him.

LOL

re: #79 lawhawk

All the CW points to that this should be a D year, and if it isn't, that fault rests with the DNC and Obama - while Hillary laughs her way to being at the forefront of the 2012 pretenders.

One possible roadblock to the Hillary 2012 coronation will be the 2010 census and the associated reapportionment of electoral votes.

Using 2006 estimates, the 10 states that gained the most population as a percentage of their 2000 population are NV, AZ, GA, UT, ID, FL, TX, CO, NC, and DE. Those states electoral vote totals in 2004 were 124-3 in favor of Bush with only Delaware at #10 going for Kerry.

The 10 states with the smallest (or negative) percentage population growth from 2000 to 2006 are LA, ND, WV, OH, PA, MA, MI, NY, DC, and RI which combined to go 88-37 in favor of Kerry. CA ranks 15th for percent growth. IL is 35th.

In short, Republican states will gain EV's. Democrat states will lose them.

I think it's safe to say that Hillary won't make this list.
