Yes gets the Jewish vote and makes clear Obama wants to keep people ignorant and focused on trivialities.

I just asked on the previous thread, is it me or has McCain put together the best collection of attack ads in televsion history? Granted, Barry had to do his part by giving him so much ammunition....

Can't wait for the next McCain ad. Should be out, like, what - immediately after Barry's speech?

This is the stuff nobody thought McCain would do. And he's doing it even before the official nomination. Putting Obama's face up there with the word "Tiny" isn't exactly a stroke of genius, it's an obvious choice, but nobody thought McCain would do it.

A few hours, anyway. There's likely to be so much ammunition, one has to pick and choose.

How many of these ads will get placement in general rotation before the election. Sending them to the Net is one thing, preaching to the converted is one thing - pushing this into mass markets is another.

It does, however, provide McCain's people with an opportunity to gauge reaction and see which ones do best - and use those in wide mass market tv buys.

I like the ad and am more comfortable with McCain then I was a few months ago. But he is still a pretty weak candidate. The entire Republican field was weak. This should be a cake walk for the Dems.

If the Democrats cannot nominate someone who can be elected president in this environment - low Bush poll numbers, war weariness, the MSM in the tank for the Dem, the economy - the Democratic party as we know it is finished.

Clinton was the only two term elected Democrat since FDR.
Clinton had Perot's help when he sucked up 18 million (1992) and 8 million (1996) votes.

This is and was the Democrat's election to loose. Obama just might be the man to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Ayers ad ran here in Texas

69 JustMyView  8/27/08 12:32:59 pm reply quote 0

FYI, here's the quote the words in the ad were taken from.

Obama explained, “Strong countries and strong Presidents talk to their adversaries. That’s what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That’s what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That’s what Nixon did with Mao. I mean, think about it: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela — these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying, ‘We’re going to wipe you off the planet.’ And ultimately, that direct engagement led to a series of measures that helped prevent nuclear war and over time allowed the kind of opening that brought down the Berlin Wall.”

Someone needs to tell Senator Obama that Iran is not only not tiny, its actually quote a large country with over 65 million people.

That makes Iran bigger population-wise than France, Italy, or England (each of which have about 60 million), or South Korea (about 50 million).

83 Sharmuta  8/27/08 12:35:19 pm reply quote 0

obama came out the other day with an Iran policy:

Obama would step up pressure on Iran over nukes

"My job as president would be to try to make sure we are tightening the screws diplomatically on Iran, that we mobilize the world community to go after Iran's nuclear program in a serious way. ... We have to do it before Israel feels its back is against the wall."

Because no one's ever thought of doing that before!

By putting out these ads, day after day, on different topics, the McCain campaign has gotten well inside Obama's OODA Loop. It takes one to two days for Obama's campaign to respond, by which time the next ad is out, coming at him from yet another angle. This is how McCain has taken the initiative away from Obama even during the Democratic coronation convention.

The fighter pilot is beating the community organizer.

sorry, the thing about the "O" speech has tfk pissed, and thinking.

William Ayers, the Weather Underground, the SDS, the 60's / 70's anti war loon crazies.

Many had contact with the commie KGB who were using them to win in S. Vietnam via the Democrats ect it being we had them beat down in Laos, Cambodia, N and S Vietnam.

The contacts then most likely have been kept up somehow, Ayers did make a talk at their evil little reunion in like 2005 2006 or so, he made a talk to them. TFK bets they still have active contact with commies from Russia, for sure Clinton made it easy as he pardoned one of them who was out to kill Army guys with nail bombs ect, so the FBI and CIA most likely were called off surveillance of these hate America terrorist.

Are you sure those polls were taken after the convention started? Even if they were, Monday was a poor performance by the Dems.

Before we measure the bounce - or lack thereof - we need to take a poll 24 or 48 hours after BO's speech. You need at least 24 hours to let the MSM polish it up and repackage it. Then 24 hours to collect the data.

I don't think we will have a good read on the bounce until the Sunday morning shows.

What the F(** does the nincompoop think the Bush administration has been doing about Iran for the last eight years? Or has he not paid attention to the number of times this has been to the Security Council, etc. and so on?

Because the Obamahdi Army threatened to pull their press credentials. The Sopranos would be proud.

Was that the reason?! Fox hasn't been shy talking about the ad nor interviewing Stanley Kurtz.

I think that the Obama camp is going to think that the McCain campaign is impugning Barack's manhood by putting the word "tiny" next to a photo of him. I can just see Bob Herbert's next column. Not to say that Bob doesn't have his own "shortcomings".

Fox won't run the Ayers ad.

The Ayers ad isn't from the McCain campaign.

Obviously you don't understand democratic sophistication. You simply cannot have extra-marital sex if your wife has cancer and if you (allegedly) make the willing woman pregnant.

Otherwise, what's the problem? Having the right politics trumps having illicit sex. Only untight republicans worry about "morality".

I'd be tempted to respond with a hearty "FUCK YOU" but the moonbat might take that as an invitation.

Dangerously unprepared!

If four years of McCain will be the same as four years of Bush,, then

four years of Obama will be like.... (insert a punchline) !

some of my best
1. 4 years of Hell
2. 4 years of Howdy Doody except Howdy Doody was just a puppet and had Buffalo Bob.
3.4 years of Jimmy Carter.

Make up your own slogan, it is fun.

Obama; making 4 years of Carter look good.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the Weather Underground types at least had contact with the KGB, bearing in mind that the KGB pretty much supplied and directed groups like the Baader-Meinhoff gang and the Red Brigades. I'm not sure why the FBI would back off of keeping an eye on them, though.

The Ayers ad isn't from the McCain campaign.

Correct, but they have and will run plenty of other ads not created by either campaign.

I don't think we will have a good read on the bounce until the Sunday morning shows.

Honestly, I don't think the "bounce" is all that relevant anyway.

The most important poll is the election itself. The rest are mostly smoke, shifting here and there with varying margins of error.

At this point in the last two cycles, both Kerry and Gore were ahead of Bush.

Hmm, Fox isn't nearly as critical as some want to believe. Did you catch the puff piece bio of the Obama? Not a mention of Ayers, among other key details. Murdock is an ardent supporter, btw.

re: #69 JustMyView

If he thinks an evil but sane country like the Soviet Union is a greater threat than an insane regime unmoved by concepts like Mutally Assured Destruction, then Obama is a bigger idiot with less understanding of the world than I thought.

And what happened in Reykjavik? The short answer is nothing was agreed to. And knowing that is vital to understanding it.

When asked by Russia to "talk about" our SDI, Reagan said, "Nope, not even going to discuss it. Not on the table."

I deeply believe that this one hits very close to the bone. And, it paves the way for an ad featuring Ayers standing on the American flag.

It is simply wrong of McCain to refer to Obama's thinking of Iranian nuclear capability as threat to Israel.

Doesn't he know that the Obama people don't look upon this as a threat but as an opportunity to rid the Mid-East of that Western Colonial State?

There is typically a 8-10% post convention "bounce". The McCain camp is putting it as high as 16%. Be ready for it, and don't panic.

Keep the informative ads coming Johnny!
