The supreme irony of Colmes' position is that for Democrats, whatever women do with their bodies is the woman's "choice" and nobody's business -- unless the woman is a Republican. Had she chosen to miss her flight and have the "fetus" scraped from her uterus Colmes, presumably, would have been pleased with her "choice" and no judgment issue would have arisen. But getting on a plane after speaking with her doctor to travel home to deliver the baby! That calls into question her "judgment." If all this is truly relevant, I suppose Dr. Colmes will be asking for the release of prominent women Democrats' OB/GYN records so he pour over them and enlighten us with his views on the judgment reflected by their decisions.

The guide also said a lot of money was made and lost speculating on real estate near Willow, and that was probably why all the "Keep Out" signs were there.

At any rate, it's a cool trivia thing, and good for a beer bet.

Many of the allegations that he has made against Palin and her family are outright libel. Not just a distortion of fact - libel. Lies about things he could easily have checked, put permanently into the public record in writing.

He has also discriminated against Governor Palin. I can't think of no other case in the entire United States of America during my lifetime when a sitting Governor or Congressperson at any level has been taken to task for her reproductive choices.

Down's children can have problems with the organs that are developing when the face is forming in the womb (a few months prenatal age); notably the stomach/intestines, and heart - but these can be fixed far more easily these days. In past generations, the kids were often kept at home and out of school, so their less exercised hearts and the brain growth potential owing to the early plasticity of the growing brain were both adversely affected. That's when the myth of their profound backwardness arose.

Not every Down's child has serious challenges with intellect either. They DO have to work harder than people without DS to achieve what comes more easily to us, but so do the blind and deaf. They can and do attend college level classes, many in therapy have learnt to speak and read several languages in early childhood - they are very bright kids, and I was honored to be a foster parent to DS children.

- the what-a-woman-does-with-her-body crowd suddenly question a Governor's decisions about what to do with her body

- unsubstantiated rumours from Kos about the child being her daughters

- allegations from Andrew Sullivan that she named her kids after witches

The progresives are going to offend every person in America.

The hypocrisy on display here is utterly mind boggling.

If Gov. Palin was a liberal and on obama's ticket right now, she would be getting praised by the left for her courageous decision to keep her baby and praised for being a working mom. But because she belongs to the other party- she's being chastised for these same things. The left is sick.

He went a little further than that, saying essentially that it was a fake disease, promulgated for sympathy/charity purposes.

And I don't have a problem with him either. They're called "shock jocks" for a reason. . .they're deliberately offensive as it generates ratings.
